This is a review of emotion, Tommy's is the first hamburger I ever ate in California, it was my fathers first hamburger he ate when he came from the Islands. So there is a true emotion connection to Tommy's. So food should bring happy memories and emotions. So Tommy's hamburgers thank you for the beautiful memories yo brought back. My father has been gone 21 years and that burger was as good as the one I had as a child. The meat was cooked to perfection, the thick sliced tomatoes, the raw onion, the mustard in perfect amounts. The pièce de résistance the chili the beautiful cooked to perfection, full of flavor chili makes it the greatest burger on earth. This location is terrible at serving customers in a timely manner it takes forever there was one car ahead of me was handed a single bag and when I get to the window to her 7 minutes to acknowledge me to begin the transaction I was there 15 minutes in that amount of time she was chatting with coworkers she didn't provide napkins ketchup or Chili's and the drinks were overfilled and spilled on me to top it off their drinks are always flat! We stayed at Six Flags until closing. The problem is that nearly every place to eat is closed by then. But Tommy's was open, so we showed up. This was our second visit (first being a couple years ago). This time I ordered a chili dog. Others ordered a different dog and a burger. The food is good but nothing special. And to my horror they had "already cleaned" their milkshake machine, so i couldn't get one. (Really?? Your'e open for business and you clean your machine (and won't start it up again)? Seriously annoying, and poor customer service.) I might come here again if nothing else is open, but basically I don't see the point. It's a nondescript burger joint. Not bad, but not great. I was on the road and needed a good lunch break and noticed a Tommy's nearby. I decided to come here since I hadn't been in a while. The restaurant looked pretty cool and everything on the menu sounded amazing - chili burgers, chili fries, milkshakes, and chili dogs. I decided on a chili burger with a side of chili fries and a Neapolitan milkshake. The food was ready pretty quick and looked and smelled delightful. They tasted just as good too. Always takes forever to get my food out. The old man at the cashier is rude and is extreme hard to understand. It's possible he has a speech and hearing impairment but if thats the case, the store needs to place him somewhere else because not only can you not understand him, he can't hear the order right and has messed up my order twice. This has also happened to friends of mins that have been here. In addition to this, they seem to always run out of ranch and take weeks to restock. I've been to many Tommy's Burgers, this particular store in Valencia is the worst for service, they are slow and not at all friendly. It's Sunday evening 8pm and the dining doors are locked. Supposed to be open till 11pm. To add more insult to customers the door sign says Drive Thru Only! I regret using drive thru, very slow. I ordered three items and got 4, one was French fries which I did not order but was charged. The burger way way over cooked, I later had to pull over, the food made me sick. I noticed their grill was dirty and the prep area was nasty. This place needs to be inspected by the health dept. These employees really don't seem to care. If I could give zero stars I would. I hope management will look into this mismanaged location. These employees were horrible they have no sense of cleanliness or health standards. been going to tommy's for close to 50 years and this was the worst service i have ever had. 30 freaking minutes to serve 3 cars in the drive thru. there was 2 people in the lobby. there is no way that it should have taken that long. i could clearly see that there was plenty of help on hand to get the job done at a much faster pace. i see in other reviews that i'm not the first to mention that the service was way below sub-par. district management might want to look into this. for the record, the best and friendlyist service is at the roscoe bld location across from budweiser. read more

My family and I have been coming to this Tommy's for over 15 years. It breaks my heart to give them 1 star. However, the service and food tonight was horrible. First of all the girl taking my order did not listen. I always say all the cheeseburgers need to be well done She only put that on one burger then when I asked her if all the Burger's were well done, she said I didn't tell her. My husband was right behind me and verified I said all the cheeseburgers Then she added an extra burger to my order and didn't read my order back to me correctly so I paid for a burger we didn't eat. Them when I picked up our order and asked for two sides of pickles they told me they couldn't do that. When I asked why they said they were running out. Then when we got our burgers they were put together so sloppy and made it difficult to eat. When I first walked I ordered and asked the lady how much was a medium shake she responded with a couple dollars and some change....i ordered a shake and some fries after about 10-15 minutes I finally got my fries but never got my shake until I asked 3 times. Went through their drive-thru and placed an order of one chili cheese fries and two plain CHILI cheeseburgers, not plain cheeseburgers, but CHILI cheese burgers. Basically a plain cheeseburger with only chili in it. Got plain cheeseburgers instead... was in the area and chose to get food at their location and drove back to San Fernando (not that close). Didn't realize their mistake until I was home. Going through the drive thru, you just expect them to get your order right the first time rather than having to check it before every time. Anyhow, I get it mistakes happen sometimes, so I called to see if they could assist me with the correct order maybe on a different day... Called twice no answer. Called a third time and finally a Tatiana employee answered. Informed her I had been at their location and got two plain cheeseburgers with no chili but I had order two plain cheeseburgers with only chili. She immediately became rude and her response to me was literally "YEAH CAUSE THAT'S A PLAIN CHEESEBURGER. ONLY MEAT, CHEESE AND BUN.." I clarified that what we ordered was a cheeseburger with no onion, no tomato, and no pickles and only chili and cheese. And again with her rude attitude she stated " WELL PLAIN CHEESEBURGERS HERE ARE ONLY MEAT, CHEESE AND BUN". First of all Tatiana, I am entitled to order my cheeseburger the way that I want it! You are not the one eating it and you are not the one paying for it! I AM. You have absolutely no knowledge of what great customer service is whatsoever. You are rude and disrespectful. When I called, I spoke to you in a normal voice. I did not complain other than explain the situation and hoped for a solution. Your response and attitude was very uncalled for and unnecessary and that is what ticked me off. You may not be fired for an incident like this but I do hope your upper management addresses this with you accordingly and provide you with fair disciplinary action. If you cannot be sympathetic of your customers, listen to their needs, address the situation and find a solution, then retail is not for you... I asked for her name and informed her I would be filing a formal complaint against her because I did not appreciate her poor customer service.
