Not only did they provide expressional service, they were able to inform me what other things that needed to be addressed and did the service which was a simple oil change in record time. We have brought a BMW to them before and I will look forward to bringing more vehicles to their establishment. I have been going to Orr for many years and their service has always been outstanding. But it was one particular situation recently that really elevated the trust and the relationship. I had brought my car in to address a leaking engine oil gasket which they fixed. After about 8 months and 3,000 miles later, a bolt on the engine oil casing that they had worked on failed (broke off) creating a problem with the tensioner and belts which had to be replaced. It is hard to ascertain what caused the problem, and there was no proof that it was their fault, and yet they offered to refund the amount of the second repair. There are very few places in the world today that would be willing to do that. I usually don't do reviews, but I was so impressed by this act that I had to share. I will be returning to Orr as a loyal customer for my BMW needs. read more

Last week I took in a BMW for a pre-purchase inspection at Orr. I went here mainly due to the recommendations from others, and also for feeling like the dealer was a bit biased about the condition of the car I was getting (I bought the car used from Motorwerks, and they were kind of jerky). To start, upon entering the shop I was pleased with the initial greeting by the resident dog Lola, who was just the biggest sweetheart of a pup. When it came to the work, Chris and team were all very sincere and friendly and I felt like they were truly invested in making sure I didn't get screwed over. The inspection went well, and I signed the papers on my first BMW. I doubt I would feel nearly as confident as I do had it not been for the wonderful service at Orr. I'm definitely bringing my car here for any maintenance needs down the line. --- Side note: for some reason, Yelp has two listings for Orr. Just completed my first service experience with Orr Autosport, and it was exceptional on all fronts. As their website says, Orr is "Proud to be the Twin Cities only independent shop EXCLUSIVELY servicing BMW + MINI." So after aimlessly bringing my BMW to various mechanics over the past 4 years, I finally had the wise idea of finding a shop that knows the nuances of servicing a car like mine. And I was not disappointed. I called and was immediately set up with an appointment at a time of my choosing. I met the owner, Chris Orr, who has owned the shop for 24 years. The shop is immaculate, with sharp design and well appointed furniture and art. My mechanic, Brian, walked me through the issues he noticed (which he skillfully diagnosed within 15 minutes or so), and he made it clear which repairs were imperative and which I could easily hold off on. It certainly is cheaper than the dealer, and while you could probably find a cheaper shop to service your Beamer, you'll end up paying far more in the long run due to other shops diagnosing incorrectly - or worse, missing issues that will end up causing greater damage by being left undetected. Orr has at least one loaner car available, so it's easy to drop your car off before or after work and take the loaner out for the day. I felt like they truly valued my business and waned to earn me as a long-term customer. And I will be. read more

Vehicle: 2014 X5 issues: leaking oil, heads up stopped working, intermittent electrical issues, rain sensor activated wipers stop working. (Being a BMW owner for a while I'm expecting not such good things) However, Brian patiently listened to my self diagnosing rant, took my keys put me in my loaner. Awesome socks!!! I've had issues with stability and suspension for months. Motor weeks blamed me and said it needed new wheels, Minnetonka BMW, tried but couldn't figure it out, I even paid $400 to have wheels straightened. So I decide to try Orr, well the alignment was WAY off, they fixed it and now it's perfect again. I went in and said I need an oil change, a light bulb replaced, a tire is loosing a little air each day...so check that out, and see what you can do about this stability issue if anything. Almost 3 hours later that car is amazing again and the bill.....$207.00 for everything. I love these guys! read more

Orr's Autosport is great, they are very knowledgeable about BMW's,I am very fussy about my BMW X5 4.4 and have gone to them since 2007 I have found my service experience excellent and always fair on pricing. 2016 they replaced my X5 transmission with 150,000 miles and knew where to get the best and right tranny, a year later it works perfect. This week they replaced my timing chain with a 158,000 miles a required maintenance that is very detailed and time consuming process in one week. I picked up the X5 and the engine has never sounded so smooth! John the mechanic did a fantastic job. Everyone there treats you like family from Brian the service writer to the mechanics never trying to oversell you and being honest if you should fix it or if you can wait. I always feel happy when I pick up my BMW from Orr's! read more

I was quite impressed with the quality of service I received from Orr. From my first call to them until I picked up my repaired X3, they were courteous, answered all my questions, and did an overall good job. I liked the fact that they gave me a list of items that needed attention, and then broke it down into categories as far as what needed to be repaired now, what I should think about having done in the near future, and items I should just keep an eye on. As anyone knows who owns a BMW, these aren't inexpensive cars to maintain but Orr was on par with what the dealership would charge if not a little cheaper. Been down to see Chris and his crew many times now, with questions ranging from "How's business?" to "How much do you charge for a brake job?". Couldn't get friendlier front desk guys than Andrew and Brian, happy to answer any questions I had even if I was just passing through. Seriously, if you have a BMW, Audi or Mini they know their stuff and are way more convenient than hauling yourself all the way north or east to the dealership. Super convenient drop off, great waiting area with classic M3s to check out, and all around clean waiting area. Drew, the tech I talked to about some clutch issues, was attentive, knew what he was talking about and put up with my rambling before helping direct me to a solution to the problem. Chris Orr and his team are the real deal. The owner and mechanics spend time talking to you about your car, what it does and doesn't need and then FIX IT when you need it fixed. Their pricing is reasonable and on time fixes are the norm. Chris himself spent several minutes discussing what my car needed now and in the future. He didn't try to upsell me - just a good discussion. And- to top it off they are enthusiasts themselves- I've had questions between services and they always take time to explain what is going on (like when I asked on help to fix tiny water leak- they helped show me how to do it myself- simply a leaky hose!) Update on earlier post: After 6 months of battle with Orr Autosport my entire repair bill has been refunded via me credit card fraud protection with my Capital One credit card. Word to the wise - if you choose Orr, it is in your best interests to pay with credit card so you have an alternative to court in the event of faulty repair which is what happened to me. read more

I got into a car accident at one point where I just needed the car running to get me by and they handled that with ease... for that I am appreciative :) Also... I was having battery problems -- it woudn't hold the charge (1997 Z3 convertible). To my suprise and delight, the only cost was for my requested oil change -- as a cable to the battery had come loose, the cable was tighened and, that was it, it was fixed. They could have told me I needed a new battery, or it was the alternator, or some other big ticket issue. Orr Autosport is an honest and ethical business!! Ok, how do I start telling you how much I love this place? I don't have much knowledge about my car except how to drive it, and I have taken my second hand BMW X3 to Orr twice in a year (one for battery change and one for ignition coil change.) Just fantastic service and fantastic, friendly staff. They never try to make you pay for stuff you would not need, and the owner Chris is always so helpful on the phone when I have no idea what is wrong with my car. So when they tell me I need something done, I trust them completely after my experience with the ignition coil and their advice about what I should get and *don't* need to get for my car. It actually makes me feel safer that I have dependable service if something happens. Plus, their dog Mika is the CUTEST. I get to play with him while I wait, so it is all good :D read more

The staff are always friendly, helpful, speedy and consistent when it comes to knowing the ends and outs of high end vehicles. Any small extras I've asked for assistance on during my visit they've accommodated without asking for extra money - that's excellent customer service! --ON THE SKID-- All things considered, this place is just okay. I was a fan of it for a while, but it seems like they're just not as responsive as they used to be. I've had my car in there a couple times over the past few years and I can say the service is sliding, especially with the phone skills. This is a real problem given that they're not much cheaper than Motorwerks, if at all, and they don't offer shuttle service or a car wash as part of the job. Initially I preferred to give these guys my dough instead of the snobs at Motorwerks, but I'm beginning to think there's not much setting them apart. A real bummer. Hope they get it back, but in the meantime I'm off to other options. read more

If you own a BMW that isn't under warranty anymore, call these guys for honest advice. Labor rates are still on the high side ($120/hr), but that comes with the territory, and they are a way cheaper option that Motorwerks. I did just get new plugs and ignition coils, they only charged me 1 hour of labor, most shops would double up on that. I had a relatively significant (but isolated) oil issue, it was fixed and the car is running like it should. Also, they didn't try and scare me into getting anything else fixed. My last oil change at Motorwerks came with a list of "gotta fix this now" stuff, Orr checked the same stuff and didn't suggest any other repairs. Honest dudes, and a really kind dog in the lobby. Their mechanic decided to "check the play" in the water pump bearing while working on an unrelated problem. When I got the car back the water pump was squealing and failed in under 100 miles. The car had 30K miles on it at the time. No reimbursement from Orr for damaging the water pump. read more
