We were in recently and found a mattress that we kind of liked. Started the order process to purchase said mattress. We decided the next morning we wanted to spend some more time looking at mattresses so called and tried to cancel our order. They confirmed that they'd cancel the order but then we still got billed by the finance company. When we called to straighten things out we were met with attitude and no help at all. Seems a bit shady. We did not receive a mattress nor do we suggest anyone shop with these guys. If they can fix the issue for us with some urgency I will take this post down. read more

I looked at the major mattress stores around Costa Mesa (4 of them) and Ortho Mattress was my favorite (and the one I ended up buying a new mattress from) because 1) they have a great selection of high quality mattresses at various price points and 2) because of the incredible salespeople: Michelle and Derek! I didn't really like any of the salespeople at the 3 other mattress stores I visited because they were pushy and didn't seem knowledgeable nor seem interested in the process of choosing a mattress that was best for me. I'm actually a horrible sleeper so finding the right mattress was really important to me and both Michelle and Derek took TONS of time with me and explained all about the mattresses and I didn't feel rushed nor pressured at all. They are both the opposite of pushy! They also just let me take my time to try out the mattresses and look around on my own just coming back to check in with me and offer their expertise. I liked how they knew a lot about mattresses and were able to offer recommendations at different price points because I was buying a King mattress to sleep in and then a Queen for my guest room and so the Queen I wanted to be comfortable but I wanted a lower price point since I wouldn't be sleeping on it all the time. Michelle ended up giving us a great deal on a King size Airloom brand mattress (high end!) and then a Queen size Ortho Dr Preferred Reserve brand which was still super comfortable but that didn't break the bank since it was just for our guest room and not like I'd be sleeping on it. The entire process was great! Not cringeworthy like the sales tactics at some of the other mattress stores I visited - you can tell that Michelle and Derek truly care about their customers! I highly recommend Ortho Mattress (on the corner of Newport Blvd where the 55 turns into Newport Blvd and 17th St)! They have parking lots both in the front of the store and in the back of the store so parking is super easy! Just make sure you read the sign and go in the Ortho Mattress store (on the end closer to 17th St/Miguel Jrs) because another mattress store is also directly next door to their left and I didn't like that store as much. read more

I needed a new mattress and had been to another place but didn't find what I needed. Today we checked out this place and although it seemed unassuming and small the salesman Derek was so attentive and he listened to what I needed in a bed. I was shopping for a good quality mattress this Easter Sunday. My plan was to go to Sit-N-Sleep. So after searching for the nearest Sit-N-Sleep location, Costa Mesa Newport Beach was the nearest location on our route. When we pulled into the parking lot there was an Ortho Mattress store next to our intend Sit-N-Sleep visit. So we decided to check out the Ortho Mattress Store first. Michelle the sales representative greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed any help or have any questions she will gladly help us. We browsed the store and finally asked Michelle to help us look for a firm mattress. She showed us severals and she was very knowledgeable of her mattress products. She was extremely pleasant to work with and professional too. The price was competitive with Sit-N-Sleep but we just wanted to check out Sit-N-Sleep mattresses before we commit to our purchase. Michelle showed no pressure in keeping us there in her store and that is something that my girlfriend and I appreciates of her. Too bad for Sit-N-Sleep their store was closed as they have forgotten to turn off the OPEN sign. We immediately went back to Ortho Mattress and bought our mattress from Michelle. James (from Tustin Ortho fill in) was very personable from the moment my fiancé Dominic and I walked in. We immediately explained our challenges. Dom's mattress sinks and my mattress too soft. I also sleep hot, am a side/stomach sleeper, whereas, my fiancé runs cold and sleeps on his back. As two large bodies, we needed to move from our existing queen to a king. James politely asked what our price point was, but we decided to stay open. Based on our mattress challenges, he opened the show with the Beautyrest Black Calista Extra Firm. We immediately liked how this mattress felt on our backs, sides and stomach. There was no sinkage. It was really nice. Then, James had us on the Beautyrest Platinum both medium and firm. which was a bit soft for us. Then, we tried the Doctor Preferred. Again, we both really liked the Beautyrest Black Calista. I've previously visited an Ortho Mattress store a few months back and fell in love with the Aireloom Cardiff. I wanted Dom to finally try it. Ummm, yeah... Without even debriefing him on the bed, it was love at first sight for Dom as well. With two mattresses we both enjoyed, we had to decide how much to spend. James taught us a lot about mattresses, how they're built and what they're made of. He patiently answered all our questions, was super informative and was no pressure. We have purchased numerous mattress from Ortho. Our master bed room last mattress was less than 4 years old. After a drawn out process , we expected that the warranty would cover part of the replacement. After many steps and $60 fee to get the mattress inspected we found out we would not be covered under warranty. The mattress was clean, the mattress did not require a foundation, but the depression (1 of 2) was identified to be 1/4 inch short of the depth needed and our queen bed frame with 17 slats disqualified our warranty. I would suggest you get the warranty in writing and all rules and conditions spelled out. Otherwise it's worthless. We sent pictures and we could have been saved the time and money knowing the warranty would not be honored. Unfortunately after several purchases from the store, we will not go back. read more

Do not shop at this store!!! I put a deposit on a mattress and cancelled my order within one week. I requested a refund and they refused to refund it even though their store policy states that they would if it's cancelled within 30 days. I contacted the store manager, Michelle R, who took the deposit six times and another employee twice regarding this matter. It's been four months and they still haven't refunded my money. Michelle R is a terrible store manager and she doesn't follow through on anything, except to close a deal. I left her numerous voice messages and she doesn't care to call me back to address the situation. I never had such a terrible experience at a mattress store. I will never set foot inside another Ortho Mattress and will never recommend Ortho Mattress to any friends or family members. read more
