I was really impressed with this mattress store. I only came in with my kids who were the ones shopping for the mattress. Even though this was their first day shopping and all they needed was to decide on what size will work, the salesman, Schuyler, was totally happy to just answer questions! There was no pressure. I ended up buying a really nice memory foam pillow that was discounted because it was a discontinued model. Turns out this location usually has discontinued models of mattresses also at good discounts. The Manager is JB and he's been there 3 years and says he's staying! I asked him what makes the Ortho stores different and he said Ortho sells name brand beds as well as manufacturing their own. And EVERY bed sold at Ortho is AMERICAN MADE. JB also said Ortho works with sleep scientists to design beds...so if you have a particular problem and maybe you are stiff every morning, you might want to come here to shop for a mattress that is designed to help your particular problem? They take into consideration your height weight and sleeping position to help you pick a bed. Considering that we spend about a third of our life in bed, it seems reasonable that a bit of time investigating differences in beds is probably time well spent? I think so! I LOVE my new pillow! My husband and I went to Ortho Mattress in Van Nuys on 11/26/20 looking to finally buy a new mattress and boxspring for ourselves. Sales associate Matt Weinberg was the solo person handling us and other customers present (wearing a mask, which we appreciated) but he circulated his attention very well. He encouraged us to take our time checking out the mattresses on display and noted certain ones. He didn't oversell anything, which helped us feel very certain about our mattress/boxspring choice, which was pricey but worth it to us. Comfort Guarantee not a Guarantee Sorry This will be a long story and my english and grammar not that great. My wife and I decided to get a new Adjustable bed because she was having major neck Surgery and needed elevation. We went to Ortho Mattress and found a split Califonia King we thought we would like. The sales experience was excellent and the saleman was friendly and patient My wife is 72 years old and mostly in a wheel chair she had hard time getting into the beds. The salesman told us about comfort guarentee if we don't like mattress we can return it within 100 days. The salesman asked us to try it for at least 30 days before we made decision. When we got the mattress in our home we had mattress protector on it as soon as we got it. I found the mattress very comfortable. My wife on the other hand didn't like it she found it to soft and with the crease in the middle very hard to move around on. Then she had her neck surgery and she couldn't even lie down in it the mattreess was just to hard for her to move on especially with the crease in the middle. So she has been sleeping in her chair in the den for the last 3 weeks. So we decided th get a different mattress we went into store and picked out a new Cal King a little bit harder and no split in the middle.This mattress was cheaper then the one we originally got but we decided suck it up and accept the loss. The salesman was great told us if had any problems give him a call. Ok Then came the day we got our new mattress the delivery people just show up at our door with no warning we were told the would call us give us a 4 hour window. Ok no big deal they go into the bedroom look at the mattress and start packing them into these plastic bags they lifted one of the mattress and hit our ceiling fan, they broke one of the blades but I didn't notice it till later. They haul the old mattress out and then they were gone for about 10 min. then the delivery guy asks me to come outside they have my old mattress on my front lawn and he told me he couldn't take the mattress back because it has a stain. I asked him to show me he points at a spot on the mattress it is hard to see through the plastic with the sun shining on it. I dont see anything and told the guy that. He told me he can't take the mattress back or they would take it out of his salary. He said I would have to call the store so they take the mattress back in the house and leave it there still in plastic bags. I take the mattress out of the plastic bags and still see nothing it looks perfect. So now we call the salesman at the store the one that said call them if we had any problem. He ask us to send pictures so I take some pics on my phone including the area the delivery pointed out. He looks at them says he doesn't see anything. He refers us to a woman named Jillian at the main Office. We finally get hold of Jillian and told her our problem she tells us that the delivery man is trained to look for stains and damage. We then ask if they could send someone else to look at the mattress she says they already did the delivery man. Then she says that she Mainly deals with warrantys and refers us back to our salesman. Now here is where I start getting mad I spent 3k for this mattress that we can't use and my wife is crying because she thought she would be able to sleep in a real bed for the first time in three weeks. I don't get the reasoning here either. The only things I can think of here is they don't want to honor the gaurantee so they can save money. The only other thing I can think of is they need a mattress so pristine that they can sell it again?. Anyway back to my story we call the salesman back he says he still can't do anything for us and will call the main office again.So He gives us another woman at the main office Linda we talk to her and she ask us to send her pics so I send her about 15 pics. The problem with the pictures is I can only get so much Light into our bedroom and the Mattress has these indentations so causes some shadow.Any way she calls back and says the Pictures are inconclusive.So now they offer to send someone from a place called Integrated Mattress who is supposedly Neutral party to use special lights and take pictures. We get a call from them apparently they can only come on wednsdays so we have to wait 2 weeks to have this done. I looked in the web and can't seem to find anything about these guys. So my wife has to sleep in a chair for 2 more weeks and then no gaurantee that this will be resolved. My Brother in law who is a lawyer says video tape and take as many pictures as I can when this inspector comes when he uses his special light so we have something to show in small claims court if it comes down to that. I hope it doesn't but I cant afford to spend 3k for a mattress that my wife can't sleep on. I notice the same Mattress on Amazon 200 less and Unconditional Guarantee. Oh well live and learn. Don't waste your money on these overpriced mattresses. I went in looking for a very firm mattress only to be sold a medium soft mattress that Kills my back and hips. I told Matt that I wanted a firm mattress and trusted his advice to buy a less firm mattress and the adjustable frame. When I tried to switch it, because there was a spot I didn't see that came off with WATER!! they wouldn't switch it out. They Destroy the returned mattresses! What a Scam!! Now I owe $1500.00 on a POS mattress that I F'g can't stand. Oh and then Matt tells me that the mattress breaks down quicker because of the adjustable frame. Never again will I spend that much money for a supposedly good mattress. Don't go there and waste your money! They don't care about their customers. read more

I have bought most of my mattresses from Costco, and now I know why. At the time of this purchase, Costco didn't have bedding available, so we came here. My wife fell in love with a $2000 queen mattress. The most I'd ever want to pay. But you think, Simmons, Ortho, established, etc. that was 6 years ago. Almost immediately, I noticed this bed was not firm. it is a plush-firm, but it's more like a one way trip to the coil. The bed has a 25 year warranty. Had a 15% restocking fee within first 90 days if we didn't like it. But who wants to go through the hassle of returning, rebuying, etc. So after 4 years, I had had it. Went in to find out about warranty and was given a number to call. Called warranty info. You have to a non-refundable fee to a third party of $60 to have them come out and test the depression of the bed. If it doesn't fall into a certain criteria, too bad, you keep the mattress. If the mattress DOES sink the required amount, then your mattress will be replaced for an addition $100 delivery fee. Unless you live near Cerittos or want to drive to Cerittos to pick up your new mattress. So instead of dropping $160 whether I'm right or wrong, I'll be spending another $900 at Costco for a queen mattress. Don't take my word for it, this is industry standard practice. Ask questions on how a warranty works. I even called Simmons headquarters in Atlanta to ask why they don't stand 100% behind their product. I was informed that what a retailer does is beyond their control. The mattress that I had prior to coming to Ortho was from Costco and lasted for a solid 11 years with a 10 year warranty. One and done at Ortho and with Simmons. read more

I was all about getting a desperately needed new mattress today. I walked in and waved to an available, red-headed sales associate and he waved back.
