From the beginning, the seat cushions have been much too soft and have never provided proper support. When I sit on the sofa, I sink deeply into the cushions instead of being supported. The lack of firmness causes my hips to drop, leaving my lower back unsupported. It has become so uncomfortable that I have gotten up with significant back pain, and on one occasion I was literally doubled over after sitting on it. The company has replaced the foam cushions twice, but neither replacement solved the problem. The sofa continues to sag, and the seating support has never been what I expected from a new piece of furniture. The most disappointing part has been the lack of a permanent resolution. After multiple repair attempts, I expected someone to take ownership of the problem, thoroughly inspect the sofa, determine whether the issue is the foam, the cushion construction, or the support system underneath, and make it right. Instead, I still have a sofa that is uncomfortable to sit on despite repeated attempts to fix it. A sofa is a major investment, and I expected it to provide lasting comfort and support. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. They have not stepped up or reached out to me to resolve this matter. I see that David L, the owner, stated 'glad to make your shopping experience pleasant. We look forward to seeing you again.' Well, my shopping experience wasn't pleasant and they made no attempt to rectify the problem and they definitely won't see me again.

A lot of thought went into what and where to buy. We are so thankful we chose this place! First off, David and Jesse are knowledgeable and professional, and it's obvious they take pride in what they do and have great concern and care for their customers. It's not just a job for them! Jesse delivered the couch himself 3 days after we bought it. He was efficient and careful, and did it all with smiles and professionalism. Through no fault of the store, however, the couch we bought had a manufacturer defect and so did the replacement that was first sent. It took us about a week and a half to finally get the couch we paid for. With the impact on us financially due to the amount we invested in it, of course we were more than concerned and worried. But, through the whole situation, David and Jesse were prompt to get answers for us and were on the phone frequently with the manufacturer on our behalf. David called us several times himself to update and reassure us. He had great concern for us, and wanted to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our purchase. You just don't get this kind of customer service from a big box store, and especially not from the likes of Amazon. I always wondered why this small shop on the corner of Seaward and Main has been there for what seems like forever. Now I know why! I highly recommend The Couch Potato, and David and Jesse for your furniture needs - trustworthy, friendly, professional, and caring service. We will come here again when the need arises. Went looking for a bed, and started looking at a couple other places other than Ortho. What a mistake , should of just went to ortho and nowhere else. Other places treat you like car salesman do, cant even walk in the door and there all over you asking all kinds of questions (personal) annoying . Walked into ortho and was welcomed by Andy , he tells feel free to look around make myself at home and ill be here if you have any questions . What a concept feel free to look around !! If only all Businesses did that. When i did ask for Andy's help he asked what he could do for me and we talked about what i was looking (not what he wanted to sell me ). I talked with Andy for about a hour without feeling any pressure to buy a bed now. I came back 2 days later to buy the mattress but andy wasn't there. But thats when i got the pleasure to meet Sue-Z . I explained what was going on with the bed and that I was dealing with Andy , Sue-Z didn't bat an eye said no problem, lets get you what you looked with andy, she even called andy to make sure the 3 of us were all on the same page (didn't try to get me to upgrade to a more expensive bed ). Sue-Z was very helpful and was truly concerned and reassuring i was getting the right bed for me , i have alot of injuries and she told me that was the best for me. Who knew buying a mattress could be so fun! After nagging hip and lower back problems I decided it was time for a new mattress. I selected Ortho Mattress in Ventura simply because they were nearby, but after my experience, I'd recommend them to anyone in the Ventura/Oxnard and surrounding areas because of their outstanding customer service. I spent about three hours in the store the FIRST day, going back and forth between mattresses, but Craig, the sales associate was never pushy or irritated. In fact, he showed an enormous amount of patience in answering my plethora of questions...and was very personable. After much due diligence, I selected a mattress, went through the hassle-free purchasing process, and went on my merry way. However, that night I worried that I selected a mattress profile that might be too tall for my small, aging dog to scale. I returned to the store the very next day, on New Year's Day, actually, and asked if I could change my order before the delivery went out. Andy was so kind and understanding about my concerns with the dog, and never tried to upsell me, even though I was actually selecting a less expensive mattress. I was truly impressed with the folks at Ortho Mattress, and the quality of the mattresses is outstanding. In the end, I felt like I was purchasing a mattress from friends. For about 1 month, I've been doing my research on looking for a queen mattress with an adjustable base. Nailed it down to 3 mattress stores and ended up going with Ortho Mattress in Ventura, CA. Besides the awesome mattress and upgrade on the adjustable base, the customer service I received from Sue-Z was nothing short of perfection! I went in during Black Friday, came back a second time, and on my third visit ended up with a terrific deal. Each and every time I was there, Sue-Z remembered who I was, and really took the time to inform me of all the facts on the mattresses and the adjustable bases to help me make the best decision. She was extremely knowledge and answered all my questions, not pushy at all which I truly appreciated, a true professional, very pleasant to talk to, fantastic bubbly personality, and helped me make a decision on what bed was best for me. I haven't slept this well in Years!! And, it is all due to a great mattress, an Ortho Mattress purchased from Sue-Z in Ventura. She guided me around the store showroom and I quickly found what worked for me. I also found that the prices were much lower than Sit N' Sleep whom I have purchased from in the past. The delivery men were professional and polite, the installer was Armando and his partner were patient and answered all of all our questions clearly and quickly. They were obviously on a timed route to pick up and deliver mattresses, but their customer service was exceptional!! Overall Ortho Mattress with salesperson, Sue-Z Tatum and delivery/install man Armando are great representatives of the company which strives to deliver a quality product with exceptional service. In April 2015 I visited that guy "Larry" at Sit n Sleep in Oxnard and bought or should I say was fleeced for more than 3 thousand dollars on what was told to me it will be the very last bed you will ever want or need. Well 2 years later I was shopping for a new mattress and happened to be driving by the Ortho Mattress Inc in Ventura. So I decided to stop and take a look, not only did I take a look I bought 2 new mattress sets and was treated like FAMILY. The staff at Ortho "Mike" and "Sue-Z" are AMAZING. They didn't try to upsell me on things I did not need and bent over backwards to make sure my new mattresses would be delivered the very next day. For the price of 1 mattress set at anywhere else I was able to buy 2 QUALITY mattresses and 2 box springs with frames for less than the price from that guy "Larry" . When we first walked in we were greeted by Sue-Z. She was extremely personable,knowlegeable and friendly. She helped us find the right bed, working with us patiently. We needed to buy 2 beds. The 2nd was for a guest room, so Sue-Z understood price was also important. She really made our buying experience great. (its only been 15 years since we last bought).. Amir and Sue-Z were willing to give us a perfect price for buy 2 beds, plus the sale incentives. We recieved the beds on the day they said delivery would be. The 2 gentlemen arrived on time, moved out old bed, set up new beds in about 10 mins. They were so careful not to damage our head and foot board.. My mom needed new beds for a guest house she just finished renovating over in Oxnard and I told her to go to Ortho and it did not disappoint!!! Tony was so helpful and cut right to the chase, gave us a GREAT deal and even gave us free gifts on top of the great price!! And the beds were so comfy. We were able to get good quality queen sized mattresses with the high quality "pocket" coil we were informed about by Tony, at such a killer deal! We went with the in store Ortho brand and we are so excited. He was even able to deliver on Saturday so I don't have to miss work to receive my delivery! Another customer was in the store when I arrived, but Sue-Z continued with that customer while Amir immediately came over to greet me at the door. He listened as I described my needs in a mattress asking a few questions to zero in on what might best work for me. He described the pros and cons of various mattress types and then selected five from the large selection on display for me to comfort test. I was given all the time I needed to move from one mattress to another while Amir and Sue-Z did not hover but checked back occasionally to answer any questions. There was no pressure and I was able to comfortably reach a decision. I bought my mattress about a year ago and have to say I am beyond happy with my purchase. When I went in there I knew next to nothing about mattress and the different variants there are. Sue-Z was excellent in explaining them along with letting me demo the differences. She would do the same with the pillows until I found some that felt comfortable with me. Now, that is not to say that she tried to push them on to me, I went in there looking for the entire package which would include a frame. I got them all in one store and the crew that went to assemble everything took less than 10 minutes to set the whole thing up. We went in with no real expectations. Sue-Z was just waiting for us! She listened to both my husband and my ideas of what we wanted and we must have tried out half a dozen beds. I of course liked the very first one she had us try. Sue was patient, funny, considerate to both our ideas. She was not pushy nor was she trying to oversale. I found her both charming and fun. We purchased the bed I wanted and it was delivered the next day. Funny thought....when we took the protectors off the old bed guess what! IT WAS AN ORTHO MATTRESS! We apparently like the brand. I walked in looking for a new bed for my 90 year old mother as she moved to a new location, and Sue-Z was a great help! She led me to the right ergo pedic mattress frame that was short enough so that my mom can get in and out of bed easily. She even helped me pick out a mattress that was perfect for her. Andy was a great help as well in our buying process. We didn't have much time to shop, and they got us in and out in a timely manner, which was greatly appreciated. They honored the internet price without any arguments. They even gave us a discount on the whole deal! I bought my mattress at the Ventura store from Amir. Was looking to buy a firm mattress so he showing me all the firm mattress and explained all the features each one had to offer, which was so very helpful! I bought the mattress on the 4th of July and they even delivered it the very next day which was a Sunday, that was so awesome! The bed is so awesome and I finally am able to get a good nights sleep! :-) I really like their warranty program should I ever need it, which gives me great peace of mind. During a shopping trip out looking for a new mattress set, after going in and out of many places and not feeling that we are going to find something, our last stop was to Ortho Mattress on main street. I was going to purchase my tempur-pedict Eclipse Firm mattress and Basic Plus adjustable base elsewhere, but I received a great discount, free shipping, free pick up of old mattress, free allergen mattress cover and great financing: 0% for 18 months. Craig answered all my questions, was friendly and most off all not pushy. They delivered it on time, calling me ahead to let me know they would be there within the hour. I've never had to buy a bed before so I was absolutely clueless on what type I wanted. Who knew it'd be so complicated! But Sue-Z made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped inside, and she was so knowledgeable on all the beds that it didn't take long before I found one I really liked. Sue-Z greeted us right away, answered all of our questions right away and helped us try as many mattresses as we wanted. We came in thinking we would go with a Tempur-Pedic, BUT the Ortho Eclipse Mattress was the absolute best mattress!!!! I have bad lower back problems and the moment I laid down on it I felt NO PAIN! My experience and purchase at Ortho Mattress was incredibly worth it because of Sue-Z. She asked us two simple questions and pointed us toward the mattress options catered to our needs. We walked outta there with a king size memory foam mattress with the whole set, free delivery, and a big smile! Our delivery was made out promptly, with out old mattress taken care of and our backs finally saved. He made the entire experience feel very warm, personal, and comfortable -- not like a typical sales interaction at all. He walked us through the store, let us try different mattresses, explained the different materials and options, and answered all of our questions. What really stood out was how honest and helpful he was -- he never tried to upsell us or pressure us into making a purchase. Instead, he gave us genuine advice and even suggested that we consider purchasing a mattress closer to where we'll be moving. He also explained the differences between local mattress brands and the bigger name brands, which helped us better understand what we were looking at and what to consider when making such an important purchase. We ended up finding a mattress we really loved, and Justin was even kind enough to write down the exact name and model for us so we would have it when we're ready to buy. I honestly wish we received this kind of friendly, thoughtful service everywhere we went! This interaction truly made our day so much better, and we really appreciate the time and kindness Justin showed us even though we weren't ready to purchase yet. There was a limited supply and we bought it that night! We had been thinking about getting a sleep number for YEARS. We considered other brands but sleep numbers warranty is really good so we wanted a reputable company with a long history of good customer service. And we have our new bed and it is perfect! My husband has his side set at 90 and I have mine set at 40. lol In the past we had a harder mattress for him and it always hurt my shoulder and hip when I slept on my side. Not anymore. :) One caveat I should add - the bed does off gas. We had to strip it and let it air out during the day for a few days. But that's a small price to pay for a good night's sleep. OH and they offer an FSA letter so we are getting reimbursed from our FSA account. And one more positive - their delivery team was really professional and definitely better than other companies that have delivered furniture. They wore booties to protect our floors and set up our bed and showed us how to work everything. We're very happy with our sleep number bed. I went back to all our text conversations and i had not finalized the purchase or the price of the base. The base that was delivered was the base i had originally had a problem with the price. I was told about how great the warranty was and that's why it was more. I asked him to find another base and i did not think i needed such an expensive base (our text messages reflect everything i am saying). I felt like there was nothing i could do at that point of delivery! I have liked the bed and what did i know about bases, so there was no problem (April 2023). I called on Saturday July 29th. I was totally shocked with his behavior when i tried to speak to him about the purchase! He became very loud, obnoxious reciting how the deal went down. It took me a little while to shut him up as i was not dealing with his juvenile behavior. In the end i told him i liked the bed. I have done a lot of transactions on my own as a woman and never dealt with such bad behavior. He can be as loud as he wants, it does not change how the deal went down! Before Saturday i probably would refer him clients, my sister asked about my new bed because they are looking at king size mattress. Women i hate to say this, but bring a man and make sure he knows all the details from purchase to delivery! I have enough experience in business, to realize he was acting like a bully and that kind of behavior does not belong in any business.

And delivery with them is horrible I watched them lay the couch on its side on the concrete outside my doors scratching it. They sent out a replacement couch to fix the problem and ended up doing the same thing to the next couch but worse. I had to refuse delivery of the replacement couch as it was in worse condition than the original
