Dr Yoo saw me afterwards and mapped a plan out after some examination. She seemed to know what she was doing but also would've been nice to have her ask if I had any questions. Her assistance Darlene did leave me her contact if I needed any assistance. It was clear to me what the expectations for cost was and the next steps. Overall a good experience and definitely a candidate for my ortho treatment.

In fact, several months and many thousand dollars later, they made my teeth worse rather than better. Please see the before and after pictures below. I came to Dr. Yoo with a smile shown in the first and second photos below. My teeth looked good but she thought we could further straighten and improve my smile for the long term. After straightening and even shaving my teeth, the results actually made my smile (much) worse. My teeth were pulled down and gaps were introduced. Even if in theory this is a "straighter bite" in reality this is a worse smile for thousands of dollars and a big waste of time. Plus, now food gets stuck in my teeth. When asked if she could fix the gap her only solutions was further shaving my teeth (permanent damage) or sending me to another expert to do yet another procedure. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

My case was incredibly difficult. I had a very bad bite, and some doctors even told me I would need jaw surgery to correct it! I am so incredibly glad that I chose Dr. Yang instead. I was in braces for just over three years, and the entire experience was fantastic. Dr. Yang is a true master at what he does and managed to fix my teeth and bite perfectly without any need for surgery. On top of his incredible skill, the service is unmatched. For anyone interested, I recommend reading Breathe by James Nestor to understand how important airways are. Before seeing Dr. Quo and Dr. Schron, I suffered from debilitating chronic migraines, severe pain, light sensitivity, nausea. And I got terrible headaches when flying or at high altitudes. Scans showed I had very narrow airways, and I was nearly CPAP intolerant. After starting MSE (Maxillofacial Skeletal Expansion), the difference was almost immediate. My CPAP pressure has dropped from 9 to 4, and I'm hopeful I won't need a CPAP when expansion is complete. Even more amazing, I had no headache on my first night during two recent trips to Lake Tahoe--something that used to be miserable because of the altitude. Two things that could be improved at the practice are communication and education about the process. I later found a helpful video online that explained MSE and its benefits in a nutshell, and that would have been nice to see earlier because it was a bit of a leap of faith for me--but it worked out. There was also a logistical issue when I was notified two days before my procedure that the MSE device had not arrived yet. It was disappointing and inconvenient since we had already made arrangements, but I appreciated that they were able to complete the installation later that same week. Overall, Mid Peninsula Orthodontics has been a warm, friendly, and knowledgeable practice, and this treatment has truly been life-changing for me. I am very grateful to Dr Quo and Dr Schron and their team for the important work they do!

We're really happy with the care that Dr. Joy gave my teenage son with his Invisalign treatment…read more When I did Invisalign, I did it only part of the day, and she was the only orthodontist I called who was willing to let him try wearing Invisalign only at home since teenagers are self-conscious at school. (So far, it's worked well except where it's hard to twist the smaller teeth - to do that it needs to be on most of the day.) No lost aligners! She was also willing to reorder me a set of Invisalign retainers (Vivera) based on my original Invisalign series even though I hadn't been her patient before (I did them before I moved here, but apparently a lot of orthodontists don't want to deal with things like that). Her office is clean and new, and she has the Itero and scanning equipment that's the newer version from when I did Invisalign. She's really good with teens, friendly and personable, and explains things well. Her location is also really good if you go to Woodside High school, M-A, Sacred Heart, or Menlo or other nearby schools. She's in downtown Menlo Park near University and Oak Grove (as of this writing in 2025), but her complex has its own parking. I'd absolutely recommend her.
