Both of my kids needed braces, so we have gotten to know the staff well at this Mission location, near our home. Dr. Yee is very attentive, gentle, and capable. The room is small, and I was worried that they wouldn't be able to adequately distance patients for COVID compliance, but they made it work and it feels safe. Everyone is taking proper precautions. OrthoWorks Mission staff have always been helpful, but they get the 5 star review for helping me out in a fix recently, when I showed up with an emergency just as Dr. Yee, her tech, and her administrator were all about to break for lunch. They each chose to stay and help me when I really needed it. This was way above and beyond, and for that I am extremely grateful. I recommend them unconditionally. read more

This was the most unprofessional rude place I've ever been. I have tmj which means I unconsciously grind my jaw which leads to it popping and getting stuck. The doctors (dr. Yee) response to that was "well just stop that then" after trying to explain to her I can't "just stop" having tmj she started taking to me like I was stupid saying if you can stop hitting your head because you know it hurts I can stop grinding my jaw when I'm unaware of it. She continued to jam my retainers in my mouth after they kept popping out and I told her whenever I move my tongue at all they pop out she said "don't move your tongue then" so I guess I just should not talk for the full year I have to wear my three year old retainer. She was giving the most attitude I've ever received from a doctor. I love OrthoWorks in San Bruno so if you can avoid this place do it. read more

I have never had Invisalign or Braces before, so I am excited for my straight teeth journey!! Working with OrthoWorks has been very easy and simple. Katherine was very kind when I scheduled an appt with her over the phone and was able to answer my nervous questions before my appt. On my way to my first appt I was so sure I was going to end up with reg clear braces, I didn't think Invisalign was for me. After meeting and talking with Dr. Yee she explained everything very thoroughly, answered all my concerns and didn't pressure me to make a decision right away. Marjorie, the office coordinator at this location was also very helpful and made me feel at ease while discussing payment plans for both routes and the time it would take. Now that I had all the info I needed, she said I can call back when I have made my decision...I went with Invislign! After that, I went to my 2nd appt for molds, xray/scans, and pics. My 3rd appt about 3-4wks later...I had my Invisalign! They showed me how to put them in, take them out, clean them, and made sure they fit right. The whole process was easier than I thought and I don't know why I waited so long to go to OrthoWorks. Now getting used to Invisalign, I think will take a bit longer...LOL read more

For those who need information on the SFM Office (San Francisco Mission Street) 4596 Mission Street-Suite 4, San Francisco, CA 94112 ... -APPOINTMENTS / SCHEDULING: Even, if this office is closed and say you call on a Monday. Your call gets rerouted to their main office and the Receptionist still has visibility on SFM's schedule/availability. I believe, they're open Tuesday & Thursdays, 8am - 5pm, but this might've changed. SFM's # is 415-333-8655 and 99.9% of the time, Mary answers the phone. -SFM STAFF: Very patient. Very *gentle* with young children and adults. They really do plan out your actions, step-by-step. Not one question- is a stupid question. So, ask away! Again, they're really good listeners. I've been going there since 2006 and my son is currently getting orthodontic treatment at SFM. AND, we live in Hayward. That's well across the San Mateo Bridge (for those who don't know). Doesn't this say a lot for one little office? As far, as costs and procedural information, I'm not one to comment. My situation and my son's situation is like saying, we're playing in two different ball parks. Everybody has their own unique "game" plan. -PARKING / TRANSPORATION: *PLENTY* of parking in the back of the building- but be sure to bring quarters (1 quarter = 10 minutes). Now, if you're early enough for your appointment- you could look for street parking, but keep in mind those Meter Maids patrol the premises quite frequently. Public transportation is always good- the 14 Mission - stops right in front (north & south bound). -OFFICE AMBIANCE: There is a flight of stairs and no elevator. Not ideal for those that require ADA access. The 450 Sutter-San Francisco or San Bruno offices, is more than capable to accommodate your needs. And, probably the other offices, but I've never been. The first door to the left is a Tattoo parlor and Mary says he's a really sweet man, him and his wife. His façade is a bit intimidating, but don't let that scare you- he's a father of a young child and is probably a child at heart. Go to the second door! I've noticed this office is particularly bright- maybe because there's a skylight right above the waiting area and a big window at the chair area. Duh! I would talk about the bathrooms, but I'll leave that part to your imagination. -NEIGHBORHOOD: Don't let this freak you out, but there's a fish store- right downstairs. I've managed to hold my breath until I get to the stairs. But, if you've been to any Pacific Super or Asian market- you get used to the smell (most of the time). There's a grocery market right across the street, a few Taquerias- on a one block radius, a Goldilocks bakery, a Payless shoe store, a few banks- to name two- a CitiBank & Chase, and a Walgreens and Goodwill- up the block. A few more other stores, if you need to kill some time. And, if you're a parent, this section is probably favorable to you. Did I forget to mention the fish store?!? Back in 2006, they didn't have Yelp review type of websites -or at least a reliable websites. And, I almost *always* rely on reviews from Yelp. I hope this helps answer some of your questions- something the office personnel wouldn't tell you. It's kind of nice to know- things haven't changed since my time there. How does it go... The dentist explained the process and procedure to me and my daughter, which made us feel comfortable with the new change for her and I. They. Are. AWESOME. I'm a bit older than the usual teenager that gets braces, so I had some concerns (and even thought it might not turn out so well). I had an eye tooth (fang) that never came down, a tooth behind that, and because I kept my wisdom teeth in so long there was SO much bunching on top & bottom. Doctor Yee assured me it would turn out just fine, and without removing any of my own teeth. In just 5 months she's got them moved around and straightened! The eye tooth is down where it should be and we're millimeters close to getting that tooth behind it right up into place where it should be. The bottoms are STRAIGHT!!! Beyond their fantastic work, they are also a great bunch of people. Friendly and positive, from Assistants to all the top Orthodontists. I've recently moved from San Francisco to San Mateo, so now I go to the San Bruno office and have nothing but the same great things to say about the staff there. The staff is very pleasant, always accommodating with scheduling and they will work out a plan that really suits your budget. Dr. Yee is a joy to interact with. When I think of the orthodontist, I'd assume the staff would just get you in and out and wouldn't care about the patient. But this Orthoworks does just the opposite. They actually take the time to check your teeth and do it correctly. I got my braces off in under two years and every visit was a positive one. Everyone is so kind and gracious that any fear you may have is instantly lifted from you mind. I am a current client who has been with them for the past three years, and in those three years I can honestly say that I have nothing to complain about.
