Came to this place on a Tuesday evening. The view is facing the sand ball mountains. The aesthetics are really nice. It's definitely giving up skill shake. It's at the top of the Ace hotel in Pasadena. I had one of the best seats facing the mountains. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup, the black beans, guacamole, and plantain appetizer as well as the spinach artichoke dip. Everything was very good! I would definitely order all three again. We had a reservation for five for brunch and were lucky to have perfect weather. The menu was fairly limited, roasted beets were unavailable, and peaches had been swapped for mandarin oranges since they're out of season. We shared: Crispy Brussels Sprouts Wagyu & Pork Meatballs Beet Carpaccio Hand-Pressed Tostones Mandarin Orange Burrata Salad Steak Frites and a few of us tried the Triple Cali Spritz. Unfortunately, one of our drinks came with a dead bug in it--thankfully my friend spotted it before drinking, and they replaced it maybe finally 10 minutes later. The tostones were the highlight of our meal: crispy fried plantains served with flavorful black bean dip and guacamole. However, the rest of the food was quite bland, and the burrata salad was especially disappointing, it had barely a spoonful of burrata. Service was also very slow. We ordered the raspberry cheesecake for dessert per our server's recommendation, but what arrived was a plain cheesecake with caramel drizzle instead. To make things even more awkward, the manager brought us large serving spoons to eat it with. By the time our meal ended, we had been there for over 2.5 hours. One final note: the unisex restrooms each have their own sink but no soap inside. I was fortunate to grab a reservation on a Friday night to celebrate my "brother's" birthday. The open-air terrace gets its charm from a desert-inspired color scheme and an Olive tree in the center. The menu features seasonal coastal Baja inspired dishes sprinkled with a bit of Cali flair. The cocktails are equally creative featuring ingredients such as beet juice & nopales. Our server was Delaiah and she was the best! Friendly & attentive the entire evening. (The two hosts that were working the night of 9/19 were also great too.) Our first round of cocktails were: Swift Relief & Triple Cali Spritz. Both were light & refreshing - perfect for the summer evening. For our second round we got Drop the Beet & Ol' Californica. I was skeptical of Drop the Beet because of the beet juice but I didn't notice it. It was a tasty twist on a margarita. The Ol' Californica was a riff on an Old Fashioned featuring a toasted walnut infused bourbon. It was exceptionally smooth. We decided to share several dishes: Roasted Beets, Peach Burrata Salad, & Truffle Shoestring Fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! The roasted beets were al dente and paired well with the whipped goat cheese. The Peach Burrata Salad featured sliced fresh peaches with charred broccolini with a green chimichurri and a creamy burrata cheese. It was exceptionally good. Came here last weekend with some friends after a retirement party nearby. Had wanted to check it out after hearing about a new rooftop spot, and it was literally like three blocks away, so we walked over. It wasn't very crowded on a Sunday at stuff 3p, so we were able to get a table for eight pretty easily. First, the ambience. Very nice. Have views of the foothills behind Pasadena as well as some of old town. Just very charging and quaint. We weren't overly hungry as we had smoke food at the party, but we did order drinks and appetizers. The cocktails, on menu, were creative in their own way, and some of them got while others felt like they needed more flexor to come through. As for the appetizers, we got the showering fries, which were fairly basic with garlic and truffle with with rosemary salt, and we also tried the hand pressed tostones which are twice fried banana chips served with brand and guacamole. This was a creative dish, never thought about twice frying banana chips, but that banana flavor did not come through for us, tasted more like a potato. Overall, nice ambiance with relaxing views, not overly busy. Drinks can be hit or miss and I can't really comment on the good as we only tried two appetizers. I really really dislike giving anything less than 5 stars. But let's be clear - this is about the food, the Dine LA menu and my personal experience of OSA last Friday evening. The service we got from Emmanuel was 5 stars, no doubt. If we were to come back, it would be solely because of him and his can-do attitude. There is no question about the excellence of his service. I knew from the moment the hostess seated us that I was going to have issues. She placed us at a table directly across the hostess' lectern (not podium!) and the problem with this location is that it is the intersection of where it is busiest. Busboys and servers walking to and from the kitchen compounded by the crowding of guests around the hostess (and therefore right by me) made for stressful vibes. The energy I felt was so frantic that I could even literally feel the vibrations of people walking briskly behind me (the floor was reverberating all this activity) or talking loudly right behind my chair. I beg management to try and sit where I did and have a meal - see if you can understand why I was in fight or flight the whole time. It was not relaxing at all. Your rooftop is supposed to feel zen and carefree. I did not feel either. If I was sat elsewhere, my experience would've been wildly different. As for the Dine LA menu, it was disappointing because it was obvious that they provided the extra dishes (cauliflower and pasta) to justify charging $65. I'll admit that the cauliflower was tasty but was it necessary? The pasta was just a big plate of fusilli with vodka sauce slapped on top. There wasn't that much sauce and the meager sauce given didn't even adhere to the pasta. It seemed like this dish was added as an afterthought. If they just took out both cauliflower and pasta and focused on maybe giving a bigger portion of the fish appetizers and the dessert, they could've still easily charged $65 and people would've found it to be of good value. Would adding a little more protein to the fish appetizers or maybe making the dessert a little more substantial (and taking away the unnecessary filler courses) hurt the bottom line? Don't get me wrong - the first appetizers (crudo and tuna tartare) were FANTASTIC. Tasty AF and memorable. Loved the dressing on the crudo. And the avocado puree which formed the base of the tuna tartare was perfection. The mains were lovely as well - lamb and steak frites. This portion of the dinner along with Emmanuel's wonderful service is what made us happy. They ran out of the dessert (chocolate mousse) so they asked us if we instead wanted the vanilla gelato or the dulce de Leche cake. The ice cream was nothing special. And the dulce de Leche cake was such a tiny portion - look at the photo for reference: it was literally the size of my teaspoon. We usually judge a restaurant by its dine LA menu to ascertain if we want to come back. Because of our experience, I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon. It opened last year I think, so maybe after a few years of being in business they'll have ironed out these issues and made needed improvements. My husband, daughter (1 year old) and I were seated promptly (arriving around 545pm) - the hostess was really helpful getting up setup in a high top with a high chair (yes, strange setup but we took what we could get). We were greeted quickly once we sat down (it wasn't too busy yet). We ordered the meatballs, tostones, king salmon crudo and burger. Food was solid and simple. It's a hotel restaurant with a lovely view so expect a bit of a higher price point. They had live music starting around 730pm and it was starting to get really lively as we were leaving. The Charcuterie came with unsalted versions of ritz crackers versus crostinis and various crackers to be paired correctly with the meats and cheeses. Drinks: Really good in that they will substitute whatever liquor you want in any drink. Appreciate the flexibility there. Amazing customer service on their end for that. View: Amazing. Nuff said. Bar area: Good place to watch football. The best, though, is the people watching! Unbelievable! To our left were the two old ladies from Pasadena talking about the Jeffrey Epstein's and Ghislanes of Pasadena. To the right were the couple with the dog, she being too unclothed, and he being the bitter man talking trash about everyone in the bar. It was actually fascinating. So... why 3 stars? Osa Rooftop Bar is such a great addition to Pasadena and SGV. The ambiance is the standout -- it's rare to find a rooftop bar in this area, and the mountain views at sunset are beautiful. They even project black and white films on the building next door, which really adds to the overall vibe. The cocktails highlight seasonal, fresh ingredients. My friend enjoyed the orange wine, and I ordered the Cactus Cooler with tequila instead of mezcal, which was refreshing. I'd love to see a few more fruit-forward cocktail options as we head into spring. Food-wise, the biggest surprises were my favorites. The crispy brussels sprouts were some of the best I've had, and the charred chicken tacos were super flavorful with a crispy, cheesy layer we loved. The steak frites had great fries, though the steak was slightly overcooked and the chimichurri a bit salty. The persimmon burrata salad and Caesar salad were solid, but not must-orders. I'd still love to come back and try more items. Service was excellent: attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. They even offered blankets and have heat lamps once it cooled down. Overall, a great spot for a date night or night out with friends. Parking is street parking or a paid lot behind Urth Caffé. This place is very pretty and overlooks from Colorado blvd in Pasadena. The drinks were decent. The service was sweet and they even offered blankets when it got brisk. We Went in January on a Friday night and there was a live band. I did think the food was quirky as my hubby kept saying everything tasted like Trader Joe's.. read more

Visited OSA last night with my girls for a girls dinner. The views and vibes are very nice! Drinks were great. Food was ok.. I will say the Brussels sprouts were 10/10. The Cesar salad was nothing memorable it did lack flavor.. I also ordered chicken which came on the side but it was already in dressing so I'm assuming it's the chicken they use for their chicken tacos so it didn't really pair the best with the salad. Our server Tony was very attentive and provided great service. Overall I am open to coming back possibly just for drinks or trying their brunch! read more

So me and my friend had been out all morning so we were starving by the time we got here and this place rlly hit the spot I think. Ambience was rlly cute we got a bit lost in the parking and went up the wrong staircase but when we finally found it the place did not dissapoint. We got seated right by the rooftop view which was pretty cute not like an amazing view but it was pretty nice. The lemonade was good and refreshing and the truffle fries were amazzzzing so so good. Waiter was really nice too he even gave us a free ice cream at the end so great service overall. Caesar salad looked good but the dressing wasn't really that flavorful I feel like some lemon and maybe more garlic would give it more of a Caesar salad flavor cuz it was just ok.
