Well, I went down a rabbit hole and found Poppy and Monroe! A head spa is more than just a massage. At Poppy and Monroe, they give you a scalp analysis, massage, and essential oil treatments, with plenty of warm, rushing water to rinse and finesse. My treatment, which was pretty pricey at around 300 bucks, also included a facial (the esthetician rubbing my face was divine), foot massage, and hand/arm massage. At the beginning of the head treatment, Anna (who was AMAZING, by the way) showed me what was good and bad about my hair and scalp--my scalp was some of the best she'd seen, but was a little pale and needed more blood flow. She then showed me what my scalp looked like after that treatment, and there was indeed more blood flow, and looked more vibrant and less anemic. Anna was professional and kind and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everything felt wonderful. The vibe was calm. I felt relaxed. After the visit, Anna gave me pointers on how to care for my scalp and recommendations for returning for further treatments, but not in a gimmicky-trying-to-sell-me-stuff way. The space is warm and welcoming and also offers pedicures, manicures, and makeup sessions. The pedicure/manicure spaces are a little close together for my taste (I prefer private rooms), but they are stylish and clean. I plan to come back and see Anna again to work on my self care regimen. And there are lots of cute restaurants and shops in the area, so you can park and make an afternoon of it!

Work was sloppy with nail polish spilling over onto my cuticle and I have chips across multiple nails within a week. I didn't have reading glasses and see how badly they looked until I got back to my hotel, have not done anything crazy to make them chip. I flagged to the lady that she was going too fast and didn't let timer properly run down but she poo poo'd me. Overall, this was the worst gel manicure I have received and I don't recommend this place at all, especially with the high price.

I specifically asked if I was getting a hand arm massage as part of it which everywhere else I have been is standard with manicure, since the tech rushed straight to painting my nails and she said "after" which turned out to be her squiring some oil on my arm and doing one pass just smoothing it in on each arm. No massage at all. $40 for the gel manicure. When I went to check out and she told the girl to charge me $40 I asked her as nice as possible how that was when I didn't even get the basics of a regular manicure and she tried to tell me that would have been extra. It felt like she was just making the price up to whatever she felt and then poorly made excuses around it. Extremely disappointed after how great this place has been with the pedicures - which my friends were able to enjoy- but the manicure with this person was a 2 star experience and I'll be sure to make sure I'm not with her again. Appointment suggested. They have the nail tables in the middle of the salon. They have a cute waiting room area. Their prices are very good. I only had a pedicure today and it was very good. I decided to go for the "Indulgent" $47 it come with all the cut and nail cuticles clean up and the callus treatment but it also includes a sugar scrub and a mud mask. I like they show what products they are using and not a random scrub/lotion coming on a plate. Not sure if the prices right now are including the 30% off discount they are claiming they are giving or that's the normal price. But that's what I paid today. The chairs are new and working well. Lisa did a great job, the massage was good. I have to come back to get my nails done as I am currently looking for a place to call home Come check them out!
