UPDATE: after posting this review the manager reached out the next day offering to improve the experience by getting a new set or giving a refund. I appreciate the promptness of them willing to remedy my experience, so for that I bumped this to 3 stars. It doesn't change the experience I had but I appreciate the professionalism and communication. This was my first time visiting Orvelle and unfortunately, my last. I went in for an acrylic white tip full set and was made to believe they'd see me relatively soon as I was a walk-in. I expected to wait about 15-20 minutes since I didn't have an appointment but they had me sitting for over 40 minutes before I was seen. Again, this wouldn't have been an issue if they would have told me it would be a while - I could have gone to run errands or came back. People were seen before me and I was left sitting for almost an hour before I was seen. As I mentioned, I wanted acrylic white tips, it's a service listed that they offer at this salon but that's not what I received. I ended up with a regular acrylic french tip set. One set is $60 and the other is around $85 and are completely different services. They're absolutely beautiful but not what I asked for. The quality of the set is what saved me from giving a 1-star review. At the end of the day I was charged for a service I didn't ask for and was asked to wait almost 45 minutes without any communication. read more

When I came here, I had the best pedicure and manicure ever by Sandy! She really took her time and got all of the skin from my cuticles on my feet and toes. My man and pedicure lasted for over a month. I got gel on my fingers and then just a regular pedicure could not say enough good things it was very clean in there in a great location by a bunch of shopping! read more

It's ok, but very pricey for what it is. I spend 170 on two pedicures, with only one receiving gel polish. The pedicures you got to pick a scent, but the man doing mine seemed kind of confused about it. I asked for mint and I never smelt any mint. My fiancé asked for cherry blossom but his smelt like oranges lol. All in all the polish was good. The guy was a bit rough with the foot massage too. I kept saying ouch but he didn't really stop what he was doing lol. Vibes were good though. Place appeared clean. read more

I had such a great experience with Vivian! I originally came in because I had an issue with one of my fingernails, but after taking a look, she went above and beyond and decided to redo my entire set. And honestly, I'm so glad she did -- my nails have never looked this good. She took her time, paid attention to every little detail, and made sure I was comfortable and happy with the result. On top of being incredibly talented, she was also so sweet and patient. You can tell she truly cares about her clients. I walked out feeling so much more confident. I have been going to Orvelle for a few months. It's conveniently located for me, but I would continue to go there exclusively if I were to move out of West Nashville. I have been going to Jenny exclusively for a couple months, and she is great! Quality service and she's so sweet. Very patient and understanding. No matter what design I ask for, she delivers. I was a walk in and got french tip pedicure and manicure and both were absolutely amazing!! The establishment is very clean and staff is super friendly. I seriously love my nails so much! Both nail techs took their time to ensure high quality and I have been getting non stop compliments on my nails! I highly recommend this place! read more

I walked into Orvelle Nail Bar today around 3pm and was not greeted at all. I had to say hi first, only to be met with blank stares before someone finally asked, "How can we help?" I said I wanted my eyebrows done, and they just said "yes" quickly -- no further instruction, no direction to the back, nothing. It wasn't busy (only about four clients inside), but the staff went right back to what they were doing, leaving me standing there unsure of where to go. I eventually walked to the back myself, still with no one acknowledging me, until a lady walking by asked what I needed. I actually told her I'd just go elsewhere since it seemed like they didn't want to service me. She told me to sit in the room, saying she'd find someone. The woman who did my brows, Holly, was super sweet and professional -- absolutely nothing against her. My eyebrows turned out very nice. The issue was the overall atmosphere and lack of customer service when I arrived. I don't know if I was treated that way because I'm younger and the other clients were older, but it definitely felt like I wasn't being taken seriously or welcomed. For context, I always tip well and regularly get maintenance services like hair, brows, lashes, and nails, so it's disappointing to be treated as if I wouldn't. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and belittling at first -- but I do want to give credit where it's due: Holly did a great job on my brows. read more

First time at this nail salon and had a great experience! They are one of the only salons I could find in Nashville that offer hard gel/builder gel, which is IMO the best type of nail to get. They last 3 weeks and never lift/break/crack and they keep your natural nail healthy. Vivian really impressed me, she did an incredible job getting the shape exactly how I wanted it. She even fixed the curve in my pointer nail, which other salons have never been able to fix The salon was also very nice and clean and their prices were fair. Absolutely stunning! I came in with an inspiration and Vivian absolutely executed. I had come in the previous day and expressed that I was unhappy with my manicure and they immediately resolved my problem! I'm usually skittish about getting regular manicures over something like dip or gel because most salons I've visited don't put a lot of thought into them. I often feel rushed to pay and leave before they are fully dry. I saw that Orvelle had recently come under new management, and wanting to check out the salon after years of living nearby, I decided to treat myself to something simple. Not only did they do a fantastic job, but they allowed me to sit for as long as needed to make sure everything was dried properly--and were super friendly too! I'm definitely planning on coming back and getting a dip manicure in the near future! read more

Came here on a whim on my day off to get a fill and gel polish. I was delighted by so many things at the salon. First, it is super clean second everyone was so friendly. The conversation with both Vivian and Kim was engaging. Third, the work was incredible. Very careful and precise. I received cats eye polish and the attention to detail was amazing. This is the most disgusting nail salon I've ever been too. The worst manicure I've ever received. No towel, no massage, just rough nail polish removal and $25 for a basic manicure Not clean at all absolutely disgusting. Two people walked out before me mid manicure. They have the people with gels or dip soak their nails in a bowl of acetone for 20 minutes. Disgusting unclean, horrible horrible manicure. The owner, Vivian, is beyond unprofessional and rude. After booking an appointment via text with my nail tech & arriving, she informed me they wouldn't honor my appointment as I didn't call her. In front of 15 guests, she yelled not to text, I must call her. This is the second time she has turned me away within 3 months even after booking an appointment due to walk-ins taking priority. Since May 2023, Orvelle Nail Bar on Charlotte has a new owner. Vianne is amazing. The nail salon has been remodeled and it now looks amazing! It is much brighter inside and the decor is beautiful! It is so nice to be greeted with a smile. I love the new pedicure chairs! They look great! Jack did my gel manicure and my pedicure and he did an awesome job! Everyone that I worked with were friendly and professional and accommodating to every request I had. I cancelled my last appointment because this was down the street and the new management Yelp reviews were great. Unfortunately, the manicure was not how I had shown with pictures - they offered to fix this complimentary. This is much appreciated, but I had an appointment both times and waited over 30 minutes each visit just to be seen. While it has been 3 weeks, I've had a few nails come right off, sooner than I've experienced with any other dip manicure I have received. While I did not have a strong negative experience, I will definitely not return and want people to have the honest review I wish I had seen before booking here. read more

After having to cancel and reschedule my flight to fix the problem, they said they wouldnt do anything about it because "they fixed it for me so that's all they can do". The nail tech worked very quickly and it felt rushed. The tech didn't say anything other than what color did I want. The leg massage was very light and I felt it could have been better. I paid $50 for the pedicure and an additional $15 for gel. I don't mind paying for service but it was very basic service, for the amount of money spent. And yes I also tipped the tech. Not what I had expected.

Well, I went down a rabbit hole and found Poppy and Monroe! A head spa is more than just a massage. At Poppy and Monroe, they give you a scalp analysis, massage, and essential oil treatments, with plenty of warm, rushing water to rinse and finesse. My treatment, which was pretty pricey at around 300 bucks, also included a facial (the esthetician rubbing my face was divine), foot massage, and hand/arm massage. At the beginning of the head treatment, Anna (who was AMAZING, by the way) showed me what was good and bad about my hair and scalp--my scalp was some of the best she'd seen, but was a little pale and needed more blood flow. She then showed me what my scalp looked like after that treatment, and there was indeed more blood flow, and looked more vibrant and less anemic. Anna was professional and kind and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everything felt wonderful. The vibe was calm. I felt relaxed. After the visit, Anna gave me pointers on how to care for my scalp and recommendations for returning for further treatments, but not in a gimmicky-trying-to-sell-me-stuff way. The space is warm and welcoming and also offers pedicures, manicures, and makeup sessions. The pedicure/manicure spaces are a little close together for my taste (I prefer private rooms), but they are stylish and clean. I plan to come back and see Anna again to work on my self care regimen. And there are lots of cute restaurants and shops in the area, so you can park and make an afternoon of it!
