I have come to Orvelle quite a few times and have worked with different nail technicians each time. Each of them have been so attentive and I have never been disappointed. This most recent experience, Vivian went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I wanted on my nails. The inside has always appeared clean to me. However, if you are offered one of the cheese grater style callus removers just say no lol. They always offer a beverage which makes a huge difference when sometimes there are waits due to their popularity. read more

UPDATE: after posting this review the manager reached out the next day offering to improve the experience by getting a new set or giving a refund. I appreciate the promptness of them willing to remedy my experience, so for that I bumped this to 3 stars. It doesn't change the experience I had but I appreciate the professionalism and communication. This was my first time visiting Orvelle and unfortunately, my last. I went in for an acrylic white tip full set and was made to believe they'd see me relatively soon as I was a walk-in. I expected to wait about 15-20 minutes since I didn't have an appointment but they had me sitting for over 40 minutes before I was seen. Again, this wouldn't have been an issue if they would have told me it would be a while - I could have gone to run errands or came back. People were seen before me and I was left sitting for almost an hour before I was seen. As I mentioned, I wanted acrylic white tips, it's a service listed that they offer at this salon but that's not what I received. I ended up with a regular acrylic french tip set. One set is $60 and the other is around $85 and are completely different services. They're absolutely beautiful but not what I asked for. The quality of the set is what saved me from giving a 1-star review. At the end of the day I was charged for a service I didn't ask for and was asked to wait almost 45 minutes without any communication. read more

When I came here, I had the best pedicure and manicure ever by Sandy! She really took her time and got all of the skin from my cuticles on my feet and toes. My man and pedicure lasted for over a month. I got gel on my fingers and then just a regular pedicure could not say enough good things it was very clean in there in a great location by a bunch of shopping! read more

It's ok, but very pricey for what it is. I spend 170 on two pedicures, with only one receiving gel polish. The pedicures you got to pick a scent, but the man doing mine seemed kind of confused about it. I asked for mint and I never smelt any mint. My fiancé asked for cherry blossom but his smelt like oranges lol. All in all the polish was good. The guy was a bit rough with the foot massage too. I kept saying ouch but he didn't really stop what he was doing lol. Vibes were good though. Place appeared clean. read more

The salon was bright and seemed clean. We came in on a Saturday with no appointment so we weren't surprised that we had to wait. After choosing our colors (TAP hybrid gel), we waited 15 mins at stations for someone to service us. When a man came by, he told us we couldn't get TAP and to choose another color. When we did, we waited more. The actual service was so fast it was sloppy and jerky. Yanking my hands, pushing them away when he wanted me to put them under the light, leaving gel on my cuticles and cutting them too low. He also was VERY rough with the massage and used his entire upper body weight on my arms during the hot towel service. I know I will have bruises. At the end, the gel manicures (on the website as $45) were $50 each even though we did not have any extra services. Honestly, I don't think nail salons are made for positive experiences anymore. In and out for more money than you planned, someone annoyed that you even asked and a manicure you're disappointed in. read more

I had such a great experience with Vivian! I originally came in because I had an issue with one of my fingernails, but after taking a look, she went above and beyond and decided to redo my entire set. And honestly, I'm so glad she did -- my nails have never looked this good. She took her time, paid attention to every little detail, and made sure I was comfortable and happy with the result. On top of being incredibly talented, she was also so sweet and patient. You can tell she truly cares about her clients. I walked out feeling so much more confident. I have been going to Jenny exclusively for a couple months, and she is great! Quality service and she's so sweet. Very patient and understanding. No matter what design I ask for, she delivers. I walked into Orvelle Nail Bar today around 3pm and was not greeted at all. I had to say hi first, only to be met with blank stares before someone finally asked, "How can we help?" I said I wanted my eyebrows done, and they just said "yes" quickly -- no further instruction, no direction to the back, nothing. It wasn't busy (only about four clients inside), but the staff went right back to what they were doing, leaving me standing there unsure of where to go. I eventually walked to the back myself, still with no one acknowledging me, until a lady walking by asked what I needed. I actually told her I'd just go elsewhere since it seemed like they didn't want to service me. She told me to sit in the room, saying she'd find someone. The woman who did my brows, Holly, was super sweet and professional -- absolutely nothing against her. My eyebrows turned out very nice. The issue was the overall atmosphere and lack of customer service when I arrived. I don't know if I was treated that way because I'm younger and the other clients were older, but it definitely felt like I wasn't being taken seriously or welcomed. For context, I always tip well and regularly get maintenance services like hair, brows, lashes, and nails, so it's disappointing to be treated as if I wouldn't. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and belittling at first -- but I do want to give credit where it's due: Holly did a great job on my brows. read more

First time at this nail salon and had a great experience! They are one of the only salons I could find in Nashville that offer hard gel/builder gel, which is IMO the best type of nail to get. They last 3 weeks and never lift/break/crack and they keep your natural nail healthy. Vivian really impressed me, she did an incredible job getting the shape exactly how I wanted it. She even fixed the curve in my pointer nail, which other salons have never been able to fix The salon was also very nice and clean and their prices were fair. Absolutely stunning! I came in with an inspiration and Vivian absolutely executed. I had come in the previous day and expressed that I was unhappy with my manicure and they immediately resolved my problem! I'm usually skittish about getting regular manicures over something like dip or gel because most salons I've visited don't put a lot of thought into them. I often feel rushed to pay and leave before they are fully dry. I saw that Orvelle had recently come under new management, and wanting to check out the salon after years of living nearby, I decided to treat myself to something simple. Not only did they do a fantastic job, but they allowed me to sit for as long as needed to make sure everything was dried properly--and were super friendly too! I'm definitely planning on coming back and getting a dip manicure in the near future! read more

Came here on a whim on my day off to get a fill and gel polish. I was delighted by so many things at the salon. First, it is super clean second everyone was so friendly. This is the most disgusting nail salon I've ever been too. The worst manicure I've ever received. No towel, no massage, just rough nail polish removal and $25 for a basic manicure Not clean at all absolutely disgusting. Two people walked out before me mid manicure. Since May 2023, Orvelle Nail Bar on Charlotte has a new owner. Vianne is amazing. The nail salon has been remodeled and it now looks amazing! It is much brighter inside and the decor is beautiful! It is so nice to be greeted with a smile. I love the new pedicure chairs! They look great! Jack did my gel manicure and my pedicure and he did an awesome job! I absolutely hate doing this, but I was unhappy with the design and asked he just do a solid color. He was clearly frustrated, but again don't think I was rude about it. We finished and I insisted on paying for his time, multiple times tried, and he wouldn't let me, therefore I couldn't tip (only had my card). The twist- turns out not liking the design got me fired as a client. So here's my honest review- Jayden is great at painting but he does not do actual manicures, even when you book one. He will tell you if he doesn't like a design (I loved my nails the first time he did them and he flat out told me he didn't like the colors) but apparently cannot take someone not liking his work. So, mixed bag. Just an honest review since apparently I've already been blackballed. He also cannot do airbrush so his skill set is limited to brush paint and only certain things and will not tell you if a design is not suitable for your nail shape, which was the case with the design I picked. It wasn't until I said I didn't like them that he blamed me for picking that and that it was a different shape nail in the pictures. (Which I knew but assumed he would adapt the design for my actual shape ‍). Also they didn't tell me the fired me, they blocked my number. I thought it was an issue with their phone service so called on a different phone and got through. So overall insanely unprofessional in that regard. But roll the dice because his work and the price are great.

The nail tech worked very quickly and it felt rushed. The tech didn't say anything other than what color did I want. The leg massage was very light and I felt it could have been better. I paid $50 for the pedicure and an additional $15 for gel. I don't mind paying for service but it was very basic service, for the amount of money spent. And yes I also tipped the tech. Well, I went down a rabbit hole and found Poppy and Monroe! A head spa is more than just a massage. At Poppy and Monroe, they give you a scalp analysis, massage, and essential oil treatments, with plenty of warm, rushing water to rinse and finesse. My treatment, which was pretty pricey at around 300 bucks, also included a facial (the esthetician rubbing my face was divine), foot massage, and hand/arm massage. At the beginning of the head treatment, Anna (who was AMAZING, by the way) showed me what was good and bad about my hair and scalp--my scalp was some of the best she'd seen, but was a little pale and needed more blood flow. She then showed me what my scalp looked like after that treatment, and there was indeed more blood flow, and looked more vibrant and less anemic. Anna was professional and kind and told me what she was doing every step of the way. She made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Everything felt wonderful. The vibe was calm. I felt relaxed. After the visit, Anna gave me pointers on how to care for my scalp and recommendations for returning for further treatments, but not in a gimmicky-trying-to-sell-me-stuff way. The space is warm and welcoming and also offers pedicures, manicures, and makeup sessions. The pedicure/manicure spaces are a little close together for my taste (I prefer private rooms), but they are stylish and clean. I plan to come back and see Anna again to work on my self care regimen. And there are lots of cute restaurants and shops in the area, so you can park and make an afternoon of it!

But, then I found that everything else is also really, really good. I have some favorite technicians, but I have never had a bad experience with anyone. I now take my husband with me as well, and he loves it! The atmosphere is super relaxing. Overall, just a really great experience, and I feel confident that my health/hygiene is taken seriously. Also, I recently tried the scalp treatment option...I highly recommend!!
