This is a really surprising and welcome addition to Anderson Township. We tried several appetizers and some ramen, and most of it was really good. The highlights for me were the karaage, a type of Japanese fried chicken that came with a bright peanut sauce for dipping. The chicken katsu buns were also fantastic and much lighter tasting than the pork belly ones I'm used to. The seaweed salad, spring rolls and dumplings were also pretty good. I also ordered a tonkotso ramen. The ramen broth was flavorful, although not as warm as I'd normally want it to be. The noodles were stuck together, like they had been cooked and then reheated, and slightly sticking between the two heating times. The egg was nearly hard boiled and very cold in the middle, like it had been pulled out of the fridge and dropped in. The other ingredients were pretty good however. I really liked the pork belly slices and shredded pork, and the overall flavor was quite good, even in spite of my nitpicking. With a few small process changes in assembling the ramen, I know it can be top notch. Again, for a brand-new spot in a part of town known for fast food chains, this is a welcome sight indeed. read more

What a fresh health offering of food! I ordered take-out from here, and everything was beautifully presented and delicious! The goyoza potstickers were simply made -- soft boiled eggroll wrappers containing ground pork with no extra fillers -- but it was the dip that blew me away - very piquant and complex. I had the chicken teriyaki rice bowl that was simple but delicious -- rice on the bottom, and well cooked meat & veggies arranged decoratively on top. BTW, the chicken was moist and flavorful. I had also ordered the ramen for tomorrow's meal (how could I not?) and love how they packed the broth in a separate container so I could pour it over the rest of the soup when I got home. I do love the clean, beautiful decor. I only regret that this restaurant is so small. Yes, it makes it cozy, but I don't think I'd be able to invite a group larger than 4 here. First visit Got chicken karaage (fried chicken chunks) appetizer and Katsukarē, shown in the menu as "katsu bowl - pork", both to go The chicken was not good. Very dry, stringy, perhaps over-fried. Not well seasoned. Very small chunks of chicken with a ton of breading - I think it work work better the other way around. The katsu bowl was much much better. This was my first experience with Japanese curry so other than it looking the part, I cant speak to authenticity or rate it over or below others. I will say that the first impression upon opening the container was that the aroma definitely indicated that there were a lot of spices used in this curry that are also found in Cincinnati style chili. Second impression is that there was not nearly enough rice included. The dish had an odd but good taste that grew on me as I ate it - I would definitely eat this again, even though the 11 dollars for a relatively small portion was/is a bit offputting. Not truly spicey, but it had a nice slow-developing, warm heat. I'm always on the search for great Ramen and this spot did not disappoint! Super yummy dishes. I ordered the Tan Tan which is a spicy version of Tonkutsu, although it wasn't very spicy it had such great flavor. My husband got the Shoyu and he also loved his dish. The pork topping had a different but very satisfying texture and added to the layers of flavors! My family has agreed that we are adding Osaka to our top favorites list!!! read more

I have been here a handful of time, usually takes some planning because I'm not around the corner. I always get ramen with either beef, pork, or chicken. It's always VERY filling for 2 people. I've also gotten their "fried rice" and that is DEFINITELY worth the drive too. One of their containers is MORE than enough for 3 meals. YIPEE me. I love this place! I have never been to Japan, but live vicariously through YouTube travelogues. From what I've seen through those, this place feels very authentic of a Japanese ramen restaurant. It just feels so nice here! Small, cozy, ridiculously friendly without being in your face. Understated but welcoming decor. It's all the little touches like the giant, ladle like wooden ramen spoons, the elegant chopsticks, the cute little envelope they come in made from your napkin. It's all fantastic and make everything so pleasant. Blah, blah, blah... talk about the food already, right?! Ok, so getting down to business. Is this the best ramen in the world? No. But is it delicious? Most emphatically yes! With a few caveats. My favorite ramen, (so far) is tonkotsu. This place does a reasonable version, but it's not quite as rich and "roasted porky" as I prefer. It could also stand to be a touch saltier, (my personal tastes may not reflect yours). But still, it's good! I've also had their shio (salt) ramen. To me, this one is tastier. I'm definitely looking forward to making my way down their ramen menu and tasting each one. While their broths are not always the most stand out compared to other places, it's the additions that are so, so good. The seared chasu, (pork belly) is incredibly delicious! Tender, flavorful, high quality, excellent ratio of meat and fat, and perfectly cooked. It melts in your mouth and you crave the next bite. The ramen eggs... ohh those soft boiled eggs! Salted on their own with that wonderful, rich eggy flavor, and just the right consistency and texture, (although I would prefer a little more ooziness to the yolk... to quote the late, great Anthony Bourdain, "I'm an egg slut", yet the consistency of the yolk is standard for ramen eggs), they're definitely one of the treats of the meal. Sometimes, the center is a little cold. They must prepare them ahead of time and refrigerate them. But they quickly warm up in the broth. The noodles have a good flavor and just the right amount of chewiness. Definitely a satisfying slurp. Bits of other goodies: bamboo, shredded mushroom, shredded pickled ginger, green onion, etc. round out the bowl very nicely. Their appetizers/sides are also good. Edamame is fresh, bright and lightly salted. The takoyaki... is simply outstanding! I had it once before elsewhere and wasn't really a fan. Here, they blew my mind and I crave them! I've only had them once, because I don't have enough room for both takoyaki and a bowl of ramen. I was even offering to share them with random strangers, because people simply must try their takoyaki! The genmaicha, (roasted brown rice green tea) is also delicious. Warm, cozy, tasty, and quite satisfying. Even when I'm stuffed with ramen, I can always drink another cup. That's the gist of this place... Satisfying. I've always felt full and lovely every time I leave here, and I'm always looking forward to my next visit. read more

The food here is very authentic and delicious, it took me back to the time I was lucky enough to visit Osaka. I've had three of their broths and they are rich, complex and varied. The toppings were quite good; the pork was perfectly cooked for ramen, and the soft boiled egg was very well prepared.. add on an extra for $1.00. Having takoyaki on the menu really speaks to their intention of authenticity - that's a signature dish of Osaka, and they taste just like the ones I ate there. My only suggestions would be to get chairs instead of tiny armless stools at the tables, It didn't take long until I was uncomfortable. My son and I decided to stop in for lunch. Neither one of us had ever had ramen before. We enjoyed our flavor adventure at Osaka. The restaurant was very clean, and we had great service. Prices were reasonable. The ramen bowls that we ordered contained plenty of noodles, crispy chicken, pork, vegetables, and flavorful broth. We also ordered some fried rice to share.
