Having come here several times before the fire and now after they've rebuilt it, I can appreciate the difference. The inside is much more open than it was with a very high ceiling and plenty of seating options. It also feels like they were more intentional with space for people standing in line and waiting for their order. The worker taking my order commented about how fast the register entered my order (which would indicate their payment system has been updated quite a bit too). Pre-fire interior had a more industrial dated look, but hey, throwbacks can be fun. The new interior is more modern with more of a cabin feel, which is quite a bit different, if you look around you can still see some of the artistic elements from before like the steel people around ice cream cones. The food itself was as I remembered it - no notable change there (not that it needed any changes, haha). Outside, the drive through has 2 lanes that merge into one. Parking is pretty similar, nothing I noticed to stand out as different. The seating area does feel updated, I can't recall there being much seating outside before (or it didn't imprint to my memory), so what's there now definitely stood out in a good way. If you've yet to stop in to Oscar's since the fire, make a point to check out the interior when you make it in. read more

Introduced Oscar's to my GF last night, and it was also the first time I'd been back since the fire. Love the new building and drive-thru! We ordered and took a few minutes to get our food...busy Friday night. I get it. Both my bacon cheeseburger and her chicken sandwich were just SLATHERED with condiments, to the point that they kept sliding apart when we tried to eat them. Fries were hot, crispy and salty...excellent! Her lemonade was watered down, and my chocolate shake was overloaded with chocolate syrup to the point I could only drink half. We also noticed an issue with parking. There were a couple of cars that were taking up multiple spaces on the lot. Not a good thing when you're busy and have tons of customers. read more

Have been LONG time customers of Oscar's, and was excited when they reopened. Normally get burgers and fish. Well today, we got 3 fish/shrimp combos and all 3 came with two pcs each of (what looks like) FISH STICKS. (pic attached). A couple pcs in the other orders were only like 3in long. Inside the breading the fish is not even an inch wide. Normally the pcs are short chunky filets. Not anymore I guess. Highly disappointing. Won't be getting this ever again. This was my first time visiting this chain. I've witnessed the rebuild of the restaurant since the fire. So, once I saw that the restaurant was finally reopening, I was curious to try it out. The parking lot and drive thru are constantly packed, but I decided to wait and order. I went through the drive-thru, and the service was quick and easy. I ordered the classic cheese burger, side of cheese fries, and the special custard of the day: chocolate covered strawberries. Hands down, the best part of the meal was the custard. The burger and fries were bland and very forgettable. However, the custard was DELICIOUS - I loved the bits of chocolate and real pieces of strawberries mixed in the vanilla custard. From my experience, this is a great place for custard, but skip the food. read more

We haven't been to this location since they reopened so decided to stop by and check it out. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea. The parking lot was packed and a lot of customers couldn't handle the one way direction in the parking lot. We parked towards the back to try and avoid the constant stream of people coming in for the drive thru. We were just there for a few waffle cones ($3.99 each) and there was some space to enjoy them on the patio, but the dining room was pretty packed. We ordered 2 waffle cones, one chocolate, one flavor of the day, and the employee immediately forgot our order. We also couldn't use our gift card since that "hasn't been set up yet". No problem - we will have no issue with using it. The restaurant itself was neat - large, open space. However, it's not worth a visit quite yet while it's still new and very busy. We will probably stick with the West Allis one, but overall, great custard and nice patio to enjoy it at. read more

First visit since the rebuild after the fire. I ordered a 1/2 lb (double patty) Patty Melt, which comes topped with caramelized onions and melted swiss on rye bread. It was one of the best Patty Melts I've ever had, and I realized one 1/4 lb patty would have been enough for me, but I'm not mad I added a second patty. The fries were good, too...very crisp and perfectly salted. Staff was friendly and the space was clean. I would dine here again! read more

Third time there since reopening and has been extremely busy all three times which is great for them, glad they are doing well and the place is huge and nicely decored. The service has been great, quick orders, and pickup. Nice big variety of food on the menu.Big complaint on sanitation thou. The floors each time have been sticky and dirty. There has been napkins, receipts, straws,and other debris scattered on floor and you have to clean your table off and wipe it down from the previous person if you want a table as every seat is taken . All visits have been between 530-800 pm They are so busy they need just a cleanup person on the floor to maintain cleanliness. read more

Oscars has the best custard in the entire Midwest and probably the world. The place is always hopping and there are so many selections and daily specials. The service is always quick and friendly...it's Wisconsin so of course they're nice. The remodel is absolutely fantastic and gives off a modern farmhouse vibe. I was on the go this afternoon and wanted a quick bite for lunch. I'd not eaten at Oscar's for several months, so decided to go through the (very nice) double drive-through (very good service) and ordered a sloppy joe. I remembered that sandwich as being just spot-on with the amount and flavor of the filling. But what a disappointment this one was. While it was a substantial sandwich and the filling was hot, the sauce tasted like something out of a can. But the meat itself - some of it was finely cooked ground beef, but I was also finding big chunks of more solid ground beef that absolutely looked and tasted like old, unsold hamburgers! Seriously, many of these chunks had the rounded sides of a cooked hamburger, and as no sauce could penetrate into those chunks, well, yeah, pre-cooked hamburgers chopped up and added to the sloppy joes. Terribly unappetizing, so this, along with my friend telling me later that she'd stopped there last week for a burger that was positively tasteless except for the quart or so of ketchup on it, is why I'll no longer be an Oscar's customer. read more

The four of us were visiting friends who live in Waukesha and we passed by Oscar's which was just minutes away from our hotel. Their current frozen custard flavors are vanilla, chocolate, and butter pecan. My girls shared a single scoop of chocolate frozen custard. It was a generous portion with plenty for them to share. The frozen custard was very smooth and the girls loved it. My husband and I split the single scoop of butter pecan in a homemade waffle cone. That thing was massive and generously stuffed with pecans. I felt like there were more pecans than ice cream. I can't imagine what a double scoop would've been. I've been to Oscar's on a couple of occasions and it's a solid aok. Most recently, we stopped by an a Saturday evening for some dinner. I got the grilled cheese, cheese fries, and a drink. The grilled cheese is american cheese on low quality white bread (ie: Wonder Bread style). It was basic but good (bread + cheese = what's not to like?). Their fries are shoestring, which aren't my favorite and had an odd flavor (old oil, maybe). The cheese part of the cheese fries is a small container of cheese sauce for dipping. My dining companion got some sort of sundae, which was ample and decadent. Custard may be the way to go here! They were busy but do have plenty of comfortable seating and the service was fast and efficient. read more

This was my first time going to Oscar's and was really excited to try them out since I heard so many good things about Oscar's but I had the worst customer service experience i ever had in my life. I pulled up to the drive through around 1:30ish pm asked to give me a minute and that it was my first time there, looked over the menu, ordered, pulled up to the window. I did get distracted for a second at the really cool interior when looking through the window but the lady very soon after I pulled up (probably making a joke in poor taste hopefully) said "Did you forget that you had to pay for your food?" ????? That was weird??? She didn't even ask for my card or anything and just jumped to that!!! I told myself well whatever and gave her my card. She hands me my drink and gives me my card back after processing it. Then one of the guy workers came with my bag of food which was CRUMPLED INTO A BALL!!!!! I've haven't seen something like this before but it gets so much worse!!!! He sticks his arm out of the window and HOLDS IT ABOVE MY CAR WINDOW AND KEEPS IT THERE!!!!!! He then looks at my direction and is STILL HOLDING WAY ABOVE MY CAR WINDOW???!!!!. Why not just give it to me????? I'm so surprised and taken off guard that I didn't know how to respond!!! So I just reached up and grabbed it. I should have said something then and there but that's my own fault. It gets worse though. He walks away and then cashier lady comes out with my vanilla cone already HALF MELTED and already melted ice cream falling off her OWN HAND???? I was surprised again and ended up accepting it! I accepted it and didn't push back at the time so that fault is on me. I know they just reopened after the fire. And I also realize it was a very busy night for them. That being said, they really need to better manage their orders. We decided to place our food order first and then place our ice cream order after we ate so it didnt melt. It took 25 min for us to get 3 cheese burgers, 2 fries and 1 cheese curd. Multiple people who ordered after us as well as the drive thru were served first. The food was decent, however we did not get any cheese for our cheese fries, or the ranch and marinara for our cheese curds. Fine. Not the end of the world. After eating, we went in and ordered 1 small vanilla sundae, 1 brownie sundae and 1 large sundae with marshmallow and hot fudge and then ordered a waffle cone, it was $20. We were immediately handed the small vanilla sundae and my daughter sat down to eat it. A few minutes later i observed an open sundae sitting on the counter that was not being claimed. 15 min later my daughter was done with her ice cream and waiting in the car when our # was finally called. We were handed a melted large sundae with no waffle cone and apparently the sundae that had been sitting on the counter melting for more than 10 minutes was ours. Why they fulfilled our order this way makes no sense to me. The kid at the counter did offer to remake it but we had already been waiting so long i told them not to bother. Amazing service here. The store is super clean. They have outdoor seating perfect for distancing. The indoor is spacious enough for distancing as well. The staff are super nice. They even carry out to the cars as well and run around to get the job done. I will say this so far is my favorite custard place. It just taste like quintessential frozen custard. So good and the prices are honestly sooo cheap compared to any other food custard joints in the are. The portion size is great for the price as well. And again it's sooo clean inside. The cheese curds are delectable as well l. So tasty so crispy so chewy. I drove from Tosa to get here and it's worth the drive. I was shopping in the area around lunch time and I saw Oscars so I thought a cheeseburger sounds good. The menu is kind of big with burgers, fish, chicken, shrimp, sandwiches, hot dogs, sides, salads, drinks with all kinds of cold sweet treats. The restaurant has indoor seating with a drive through and for the nice days an outdoor area with picnic tables. I decided to go through the drive through and ordered the works cheeseburger not completely looking at what it was. The works cheeseburger sounded good but I looked very underwhelming with cheese, onion, pickles, ketchup and mustard. To me the works should be everything but the kitchen sink, way more toppings than it had. The cheeseburger was a 1/4 pound which had a nice flame broiled flavor on a fresh/soft sesame seed bun and reminded me of a stripped down whopper with no lettuce or tomatoes. Overall it was ok but I would have rather had a whopper for the lettuce and tomatoes. Even though it's an ok fast food burger I would rather have a similar priced whopper which has the tomatoes and lettuce which is more of a works cheeseburger minus the mustard and the added mayo. With that being said I'm sure that I will have Oscars and the whopper burgers in the future regardless if I'm close to either as a fast food burger option while still retaining my destination burger spots for a go to burger. read more

Better Burger I've always been a Kopp's fan but it seems they recently changed their burgers, and Oscar's takes the top spot now for their quick burger offerings. Whether inside or at the drive-thru, orders are up super quickly with friendly service. Overall the menu has great offerings. I still prefer other places for custard and fries, but if I'm just looking for some protein - be it a burger or chicken, Oscar's FTW. read more

I don't know why but I can never get a warm burger at this place unless I order a patty melt that is grilled. Keep trying the California burger and it just disappoints every time. I mean it's got all of the generous toppings and it's a nice big size but always cold. Perhaps they're planning ahead for more people I don't know. But the patty melt was spot on with perfectly grilled onions and melted Swiss cheese and grilled Ryebread that was so yummy and left me licking my chops. read more

Very nice, very friendly customer service. I had an excellent grilled cheese sandwich, perfectly toasty and nicely melted cheese. Fries were hot, fresh, and delicious. After seeing a poster with the special sundae of the month, Whopper Malt Mountain, I had to grab one on my way out. Chocolate and vanilla custard, crushed malted milk balls, marshmallow cream, marshmallows, hot fudge and a cherry. OMG love the Custard. They have daily specials on Custard. I have tried many flavors and loved everyone. They also make home made waffle cones that are so good. They also have burgers. Disappointed yet again here. Ordered 2 fish fry's stressing several times I wanted fish EXTRA CRISPY! Yet when I got home I find the fish less than extra crispy. This classic frozen custard restaurant makes Wisconsin complete! They have a delicious food menu. But even if I am not hungry, I swing through the drive thru for the frozen custard. They have more unique flavors then the average frozen custard chain restaurant. My favorite is Blue Moon. If your dining in ask for a sample of the flavor of the day.
