Tonight we went to tally's tap for their Friday night, fish fry. I have to say my husband and I both enjoyed it very much. The fish fry was excellent and as far as I know, they served homemade potato pancakes that were the bomb. My only complaint is that water the fish and the potato pancakes could use just a hint of salt. But sometimes when you ask for that you get a whole salt shaker dumped down and we certainly don't want that either.!! As I said, we did not go in so I cannot tell you what it is like on the inside but that fish fry sure was good! We will keep going back! Also, the buns were really good! read more

We're new to area and have stopped in a few times..very noisy, especially at dinner time and Friday fish fry nights..service was fine food was ok..fish fry was greasy and fishy tasting the night we had it..place is always pretty busy but we're going to try other area restaurants in the future..we hear Spring City is one to try especially since they're open later read more

Great place. Really well run. The staff hustles. The space is clean, well stocked, set up for both efficient service and customer satisfaction. Menu is awesome and in-house made when/where it makes sense. Food is super tasty. I had the Prime Rib sandwich with mushrooms and pepper jack cheese (which were slight mods to the sandwich on the menu) - it was delicious. My guy had the Reuben and loved every bite. We came here for lunch after doing some shopping in the area. Tally's is a pretty crowded bar/restaurant. I bet this place is a madhouse on a Packers game day! I had the Wisco Burger...3 kinds of cheese, burger patty, bacon, all between two pieces of parmesan crusted Texas toast. I had the Tally fries for my side, which are like potato wedges but curled. All delicious!!! Our server was fine. Nothing outright bad, but she did the bare minimum. I would absolutely come back to Tally's...especially for those fries! read more

Started with a Sprecher root beer, my wife ended up having a specialty drink that the bartender tried twice and was willing to do a third try surprisingly to get her drink right and we're so grateful! It was superb! Skylar was of great service to us and friendly the whole time! The grilled chicken Caesar salad was huge and the only problem I had was there was barely any dressing on it, but for a nominal fee, you could order a number of cups of Caesar dressing. We have been going to this restaurant since we moved into the area 11 years ago and it has been going downhill all that time. The beer list is not mostly IPA's which we don't like with food. We have had the shrimp basket in the past, but now it has tiny shrimp that were fried to the point of being like rubber. And the price went up! And they are too tight to spring for the Brewers channel so we couldn't even watch the game. This will have been our last visit. read more

Very open and friendly environment. The drink specials are always good. Each time we go we try new food and so far all choices have been tasty. Our favorites are the pretzels with cheese and the portabella mushrooms. So good. Definitely a family favorite. read more

Went to Tally for a fish fry and it came with clam chowder soup with bacon, carrots, onions , potatoes, celery and finally large chunks of clams and the flavor was amazing. The fish fry consisted of 3 long pieces of fish and potatoes. My wife and mother in law could have split an order of beer batter cod, which had a nice little batter. Friday's at Tally's are insanely busy. They manage it all well and we got a table right away, which was great. We got the dill cheese curds as an app and those were good! My husband said clam chowder had no/very little clams. My fish (cod) tasted like the oil in the fryer needed to be changed. It was not good. My husband's only slightly had that flavor, so maybe it was a different fryer? We've been here before and had excellent fish, so hopefully just a fluke. I would absolutely recommend this place! To start, the fish fry was delicious! So was the salad I chose as one of my sides. The tally fries also had a great texture. The fish tastes fresh as well. Another plus was the tartar sauce, there was actually enough to last your whole meal without having to ask for more! The other member of my party said the potato pancakes had a good texture and were also great. She also really enjoyed the thick and chunky (in a good way!) texture of the clam chowder. The service was amazing! The place was very busy and all our orders were brought out in a timely manner. When we walked in the hostess asked where we would prefer to sit, despite the limited seating due to the busyness at the time. She also swept and cleaned off the area as well! Very nice and considerate. Our waitress was also very kind. She also didn't bother us too much, but still made sure we were satisfied. The interior was also very clean and neat, I was very impressed. I had previously been to Tally's and remember it being so good! When we moved to Waukesha I opted to take my family for dinner (before the bar was hopping) and found ourselves a little disappointed. If you are looking to sit down and hear each other talk - you'll want to avoid Tally's. It is usually pretty busy and the wide open, spacious atmosphere is perfect for creating quite the noisy environment. We were seated at a large table right by the walkway to the kitchen and bathrooms which certainly did not help our cause. The nachos - while they were average nachos they portion size was HUGE! My 20 year old made it his mission to finish the plate. He said they were good, not great. We also ordered a pizza pretzel which was SO disappointing for a $3 pretzel! It was burned, hard to chew, and not very "filled". The last thing we got was a cheese pizza with additional toppings. The pizza was the best part of the meal, but still the crust left something to be desired. I am not sure if Tally's was just having an off day or if the cooks changed. I live in MN, but most of my family and old friends live in WI. One of the last trips home, I was looking for a pretzel place and this place was highly recommended by one of my friends. I heard this place has amazing food and sells giant pretzels (both in store and to go orders). I saw on Yelp that they had a giant dill pretzel, but that was seasonal, so I decided on the Buffalo pretzel. My dad picked up the pretzel and we cooked it at home in their pizza oven. The pretzel itself if a great idea, but following the baking directions, the pretzel became a bit hard. I will say there was a fair amount of chicken and cheese, I just wish the pretzel wasn't as hard as it was. Maybe eating it at the restaurant is a completely different experience though. I would definitely give it another try and eat there. Hopefully they will bring back the dill pretzel! read more

There's so many options that there's definitely something for everybody in your family. They've got all of your typical bar favorites and some interesting takes on those as well. I had to read over the menu 3x to feel like I was prepared to order. My family was all satisfied with the meal. I personally had the sriracha chicken sandwich that was well cooked and paired with pineapple salsa - could have been a little spicier in my opinion. For the side I went with the homemade chili, a solid choice, but heard that the beef barely was also good. Also don't sleep on the garlic fries...they're awesome. My one gripe is the Sunday special. A pitcher of domestic draft beer with any stuffed pretzel purchase. But you can't pay the difference to upgrade the pitcher to another draft. I came in with a pretzel in mind but was put off by this since I didn't want a domestic and certainly didn't want to waste a free pitcher offer. The good: big place, easy to get a table pretty much at any time. We've been here several times and the food is ok... I've tried the fish fry, burgers, wings and sandwiches . Not bad but just plain. A regular stop for us when we're in the area. The pretzel of the week is always a must try. It can take a while to make (and they sell out sometimes) so let them know if you want one right away. But they are delicious and we always have leftovers because they are truly giant. The barley soup was so good, think and meaty, we thought about getting more to take home for later. Quite underwhelming. While my nachos were decent I was charged $1.50 for a small container with FIVE jalapeno slices although EVERY photo Tally's shares online shows jalapeño's on their nachos. Hmmmmm. My husband had wings and fries. The wings had barely any seasoning and lacked flavor as well as the fries. He was brought his fries to eat about 4-5 min before his wings, not sure what thats all about. With that said his fries were warm at best and got cold quickly. Our server was very nice but food service was slow from the kitchen on a day that was not busy. Only a few other seated tables. Took about 30 min from order to receiving food. Mostly I find it hard to believe our bill was $65 for a HALF order of nachos, wings and fries and 2 drinks. Even without the $9 drinks it would have been $57. Thats crazy expensive. Would have been easier to justify if my husband loved his food. read more

Needed to feed our faces while driving through to Milwaukee for a long weekend. Decided to stop here based on reviews and I wasn't looking for a chain restaurant that I can get in Minnesota. Parking was easy. Restaurant was semi busy for the draft. Seated right away which is good because remember we needed to feed our faces lol Drinks came (all sodas) and our server disappeared for a good 10-15 minutes. Finally after we started staring at every server that came by she finally made it back to us so we hurried and ordered just in case it would be lengthy before her next visit. Cheesecurds, Panko Avocado for apps both ok. I was surprised for being in WI how little and meh the curds were. Getting our food took about 20-25 minutes as my lovely 11 year old reminded us...but Dinner was the TurkeyABLT with fries, Build your own grilled cheese and the Dip. I messed up my grilled cheese but it was still good and everyone killed their food..cause again feed our faces to make that last 40 min stretch to the Airbnb. We stopped by on a chilly Friday night for a fish fry, as we heard it was pretty good. Although it was cold outside, the heat was on inside, almost got a little warm towards the end of dinner. The place is pretty big and and we didn't have a problem getting a table for our family. Our waitress was very quick and got us our drinks right away! The menu is HUGE and everything sounded so good! We all go the fish fry, but the good the the other tables all looked good. The fish fry plates were ginormous, could definitely have spot with someone. The atmosphere at Tally's is upbeat and welcoming. With two bars, we had no problem finding a seat at the bar despite the packed house on a Friday night. The wait for a table was short-- the perfect amount of time for an old fashioned or one of their many other speciality and classic cocktails. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. We had no complaints about any of our meals. We especially enjoyed the fish tacos and the jerk chicken wrap. Definitely be sure to upgrade to the garlic parmesan fries-- worth the extra $1. This is the bar you could become a regular at. Good service with plenty of drink options. The inside has always been clean even with a crowd. Everyday they have some type of drink and food special. Definitely go on Mondays or Thursdays for huge bone-in wings they have a great variety of sauces. I don't know what you have planned on your Saturday but you can schedule it around getting their Supreme Nachos but plan on taking a nap afterwards since they are HUGE! read more

I have not been inside yet, so I cannot speak to the ambiance, but I can absolutely praise the food we've ordered and sampled. I am particularly excited by their stuffed pretzels, and have loved their onion rings. Also, the waitstaff that comes out to greet cars picking up orders is just wonderful. Glad I found this place on my travels. Service was great and they had very big diverse menu. Had a beat cheese soup which was unique and very good. The burger I got came with a mountain of onion strings, which were cooked to perfection. The burger was good, actually cooked to medium and very juicy and the roll was nice and light and toasted. Tried for lunch recently and so glad I did! Very nice sports bar atmosphere inside. Our friendly server seated us immediately and got our drinks. Fairly extensive menu but I opted for my usual plain cheeseburger and added the haystack onions instead of fries. My sister got the chicken basket. My burger was excellent, nice bun and grilled to perfection. Those haystacks were impressive! Huge pile of perfectly fried, light and crisp. Wish I would've taken a pic. Highly recommend. LOVE Tally's! the food is always great! First time dining in, and all I have to say is service was awful. Had Ashley as our server and throughout wasn't very attentive and seemed to always be in a rush to leave the table. At the end we got our check and was talking amongst ourselves about how we wanted to split the check and was immediately given attitude about how we shouldve told her from the start we were separate checks. It was extremely uncalled for and not our job to tell her we were going to be separate checks. we will be back, but will not be requesting Ashley. Good for bar food, but some menu items hit or miss. Very loud dining if that is a concern but good service.
