    Prime Rib sandwich
    Erin P.

Great place. Really well run. The staff hustles. The space is clean, well stocked, set up for both efficient service and customer satisfaction. Menu is awesome and in-house made when/where it makes sense. Food is super tasty. I had the Prime Rib sandwich with mushrooms and pepper jack cheese (which were slight mods to the sandwich on the menu) - it was delicious. My guy had the Reuben and loved every bite. Can't wait to come back for more!

Started with a Sprecher root beer, my wife ended up having a specialty drink that the bartender tried twice and was willing to do a third try surprisingly to get her drink right and we're so grateful! It was superb! Skylar was of great service to us and friendly the whole time! The grilled chicken Caesar salad was huge and the only problem I had was there was barely any dressing on it, but for a nominal fee, you could order a number of cups of Caesar dressing. I ordered two for my salad rather than complaining about it.

Lunch on a Monday - go! Our party of 5 was seated right away and drinks followed. Not super busy but people both at the bar and eating in the dining room. Waitstaff table service was great - friendly and knowledgeable. We had burgers, quesadilla, wrap and sandwiches mostly with fries. The burger on a pretzel bun was really on an actual pretzel!

Went to Tally for a fish fry and it came with clam chowder soup with bacon, carrots, onions , potatoes, celery and finally large chunks of clams and the flavor was amazing. The fish fry consisted of 3 long pieces of fish and potatoes. My wife and mother in law could have split an order of beer batter cod, which had a nice little batter. Yes we plan on returning and I will order it again, yum! Stopped in again, 12/1/23 and couldn't finish the meal because it was so big

I would absolutely recommend this place! To start, the fish fry was delicious! So was the salad I chose as one of my sides. The tally fries also had a great texture. The fish tastes fresh as well. Another plus was the tartar sauce, there was actually enough to last your whole meal without having to ask for more! The other member of my party said the potato pancakes had a good texture and were also great. She also really enjoyed the thick and chunky (in a good way!) texture of the clam chowder. The service was amazing! The place was very busy and all our orders were brought out in a timely manner. When we walked in the hostess asked where we would prefer to sit, despite the limited seating due to the busyness at the time. She also swept and cleaned off the area as well! Very nice and considerate. Our waitress was also very kind. She also didn't bother us too much, but still made sure we were satisfied. The interior was also very clean and neat, I was very impressed. They also had nice decorations.

I had previously been to Tally's and remember it being so good! When we moved to Waukesha I opted to take my family for dinner (before the bar was hopping) and found ourselves a little disappointed. If you are looking to sit down and hear each other talk - you'll want to avoid Tally's. It is usually pretty busy and the wide open, spacious atmosphere is perfect for creating quite the noisy environment. We were seated at a large table right by the walkway to the kitchen and bathrooms which certainly did not help our cause. The nachos - while they were average nachos they portion size was HUGE! My 20 year old made it his mission to finish the plate. He said they were good, not great. We also ordered a pizza pretzel which was SO disappointing for a $3 pretzel! It was burned, hard to chew, and not very "filled". The last thing we got was a cheese pizza with additional toppings. The pizza was the best part of the meal, but still the crust left something to be desired. I am not sure if Tally's was just having an off day or if the cooks changed. I will probably give it another try down the road...

    Buffalo Pretzel - uncooked
    David M.

I live in MN, but most of my family and old friends live in WI. One of the last trips home, I was looking for a pretzel place and this place was highly recommended by one of my friends. I heard this place has amazing food and sells giant pretzels (both in store and to go orders). I saw on Yelp that they had a giant dill pretzel, but that was seasonal, so I decided on the Buffalo pretzel. My dad picked up the pretzel and we cooked it at home in their pizza oven. The pretzel itself if a great idea, but following the baking directions, the pretzel became a bit hard. I will say there was a fair amount of chicken and cheese, I just wish the pretzel wasn't as hard as it was. Maybe eating it at the restaurant is a completely different experience though. I would definitely give it another try and eat there. Hopefully they will bring back the dill pretzel!

There's so many options that there's definitely something for everybody in your family. They've got all of your typical bar favorites and some interesting takes on those as well. I had to read over the menu 3x to feel like I was prepared to order. My family was all satisfied with the meal. I personally had the sriracha chicken sandwich that was well cooked and paired with pineapple salsa - could have been a little spicier in my opinion. For the side I went with the homemade chili, a solid choice, but heard that the beef barely was also good. Also don't sleep on the garlic fries...they're awesome. My one gripe is the Sunday special. A pitcher of domestic draft beer with any stuffed pretzel purchase. But you can't pay the difference to upgrade the pitcher to another draft. I came in with a pretzel in mind but was put off by this since I didn't want a domestic and certainly didn't want to waste a free pitcher offer. Kaylee was our server and incredibly welcoming, accommodating and patient with a table of 7 of my rowdy family. Will certainly be back to try more!

    Beef Barley soup
    Lisa N.

A regular stop for us when we're in the area. The pretzel of the week is always a must try. It can take a while to make (and they sell out sometimes) so let them know if you want one right away. But they are delicious and we always have leftovers because they are truly giant. The barley soup was so good, think and meaty, we thought about getting more to take home for later. It definitely has a bustling bar feel so not your best option for a quiet talk but otherwise definitely recommend!!

My uncle and aunt come here all the time. They love the bar and pub atmosphere and their food. First time here I had their Tallengher 1lb burger and I was in a heavenly food coma! So flipping good. This time my uncle got the fish and I had to try their wings! I flew to heaven every bite. Love love love Haystacks are my go to.

The food is always delicious, the service is truly impeccable with well trained, friendly servers, and it's very clean and homey. I had an egg special, and my choices included two (perfectly cooked) poached eggs, three crisp on the outside sausages, a well balanced fruit bowl with fresh pineapple, melons, and grapes, and a short stack of their light and fluffy pancakes. My husband had over easy eggs, bacon, pancakes and fruit, plus we both had The Coop's rich, deeply flavorful coffee. Everything was excellent and at a most affordable price. Fast forward several hours: my daughter and her young sons were in the area on an errand, so we met up and of course the boys were hungry, so as The Coop was, once again, very close, we went there. My daughter was very happy to see decidedly different menu options for kids' meals than the usual. Two of them had grilled cheese sandwiches with fruit cups, the third had a scrambled egg, sausage, a pancake and fruit, my daughter had French toast, and I had two cheeseburger sliders with fries. Everyone loved their food and the atmosphere, and they all want to go back. Two great experiences in one day!

Even had our 40th anniversary party here (on a Monday night). It's an excellent restaurant AND with reasonable pricing. The restaurant is small and intimate. The menu is tapas style has a large variety of dishes, and they change it occasionally to keep it fresh. There are several items that are always on our go-to list including the truffle brussel sprouts, chicken legs, pork belly, grilled veggies and the flourless chocolate cake. The owners Christina and Jason are terrific people. Super easy to work with when we planned our anniversary party.

We started with the Brussels sprouts. They seemed deep fried, which isn't my preference, but we loved them. Garlic aoeli and Parmesan was an unexpectedly good flavor. They then served the roasted beet arugula salad. Although we don't like beets we loved this salad. One serving gave each of three of us a decent amount of salad. It had a great dressing applied in just the right amount and delicious pickled onions. The roasted beets seemed a touch mushy but were palatable to beet dislikes. Next we moved onto the scallops. We highly recommend them they arrived on a bed of pasta with some vegetables and a wonderful cream sauce. We loved them. Just be aware you need to say how many scallops you want. It's $8 per scallop. We finished with the beef tenderloin. Be careful with your requested doneness. We asked for medium rare and received rare. Otherwise they had a nice crunchy sear and a delicious flavor and accoutrements like mushrooms and the most smooth, creamy, and flavorful garlic mash I've ever had. It had five good sized slices. These three dishes filled up three of us. They serve one plate at a time which gives your meal a relaxed, social feel and also gives you time to digest. It takes about 20 minutes for the brain to receive the message you are full so I think dining at this relaxed pace allows you both to get the full flavors of each dish and also to eat just the right amount and not overeat. The only bad part of the meal was the espresso martini. Don't get it. I've tasted way better. Didn't even finish it because of not great taste.

We did, and we were seated almost immediately. From the minute we walked in the restaurant, everything was perfect. Hostess Heidi was lovely, our server Sara was amazing, and the food was incredible. My friend had the meatloaf, and crème brûlée for dessert. She said both were great. She's not a drinker, but did have a couple Shirley Temples, which were perfect. I have the pretzel crusted veal with spaetzel. I asked for them to hold the asparagus, which is usually cut up in the spaetzel along with mushrooms and onions, and they did it perfectly. The veal was especially amazing, and the spaetzel was very good, too. I tried the Mr Manhattan, and had another one as my dessert. I'm always delighted when my usual craft cocktail is one of their classics on the menu. It was well-made, if a bit small for the price point. Nick was our server and took great care of us. we tried the following: Drinks - I had a dirty gin martini and my wife had a captain and diet (her go to) and both were perfectly mixed. Appetizers - We were really looking forward to the buratta appetizer, but it had just gone off menu, so we went with the goat cheese that replaced it, which was good (but I would cut down the number of sun-dried tomatoes by 1/3). There were several choices for both breakfast and lunch entrees; I enjoyed the fried fish and beef burgundy, while my husband said both the fried chicken and the beef (I think it was prime rib) were good, but the beef was on the tough side. The French toast was puffy and moist, but the Belgian waffles were hard and bone dry. The scrambled eggs were rather dense, but the bacon, sausage, and cheesy potatoes were, we agreed, flavorful. The dessert selection was meager, primarily cookies and some bar cookies, and the breakfast pastry selections were rather tasteless and beginning to harden. I'd guess they'd been out for awhile. Our pleasant server was prompt with keeping our beverages topped off and clearing the table. The chicken was also super delicious - very tender and perfectly cooked. The roasted red potatoes were also an A+... Also comes with a large loaf of homemade bread which was really good. We also had a total of 3 Old Fashions and 2 beers (Spotted Cow of course). Their Old Fashions are done perfectly! The total bill came to $130 which to me is an incredible bargain - 2 dinners (chicken, steak, ribs, potatoes, bread, 2 salad bars), 3 cocktails and 2 beers... plus amazing service - MARY ROCKS! Highly recommend eating here if you get the chance!
