Exceptional A+++++ dishes that blew me away. I had their Salmon collar, sardines, and ahi pasta...wow what an experience. Probably one of the top 5 places I've tried in San Diego for Seafood / Italian

Another north PB gem unlocked for me and my housemates! We all love seafood and always walked by wondering if it was any good. The answer is yes, everything was delish. Love that they sourced their table bread from Wayfarer, calamari was bomb, and the market fish we had was a grilled sea bass that did feed all 3 of us. Make sure you have a reso! It seems to always be busy here Bonus: this was one of the best Caesar salad I've ever had in my entire life

I looked for a nice place to eat when we were in San Diego. I saw the reviews and they looked good for this place. They only have street parking there. I found a spot around the corner. It's by a neighborhood so not too many spots. Our friend had to drive around a little to get a spot. The place was packed and it was dinner time . Glad I had reservations. We were seated right away and there was a lot of room at the bar. They had some tanks with crabs in them They were supposed to be a live but I didn't see much movement hahah Our server welcomed us and told us a few recommendations as we looked over the menu. I started out with the clam chowder and it was really flavorful and had a lot in it. I liked it a lot. My wife got the Swordfish and it was too salty and a bit dry. Our friend got the Baja White Seabass and it was cooked perfectly and she enjoyed it. I got the Crab Buccatini. It had squid ink pasta. I was first looking at the crab and it didn't seem like much but to my surprise there was more crab at the bottom of the plate. It was yummy and i would get it again. We had a nice dinner and I would eat here again. The place has a great atmosphere and clean. The server was so nice and friendly. Since it was busy I had to ask to get a refill of my iced tea a couple of times. no biggy.

We came on a Friday night. The place was packed. Reservations is a must. Parking is street parking. Give yourself some extra time to find parking, to make the reservation time. Our server told us their specials for that night. I ordered the Sea Bass, my husband ordered the special, Crab Buccantini with squid ink pasta, and my friend had the swordfish. Every dish tasted really good. There was one problem with my dish, one of the pieces of sea bass was not cooked, it was pretty raw. One of the pieces was fine, the second was not. I'm not sure how that would happened, unless they didn't cook them together. I let my server know and he ordered me another dish right away, and apologized. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our food. Our server was very nice and friendly. I would come again.

My boyfriend and I went to The Fishery for a Friday night date night and had such an amazing experience from start to finish. We were lucky enough to snag a last-minute 7 p.m. reservation and sat inside, which made for such a cozy atmosphere. Our waitress, Sara, was absolutely fantastic and guided us through the menu with some incredible recommendations. We started with two Fishery Milk Punch cocktails, which were surprisingly light, refreshing, and not milky at all. Such a pleasant surprise. For appetizers, we had the aguachile, the market carpaccio (halibut that evening), and the miso black cod. Every single dish was outstanding, but the market carpaccio completely stole the show. We'll definitely be ordering that again next time. I also highly recommend the aguachile if you're looking for something with a little more spice and pizzazz. For entrees, I had the albacore belly spaghetti, which felt like one of the safer menu choices, but honestly ended up being one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. I cleaned the entire plate. My partner ordered the Baja white sea bass, another recommendation from Sara, and absolutely loved it. Overall, the service was a 10/10 and the food completely lived up to the hype. Expect to spend around $300 for two if you're enjoying cocktails with dinner, but it's absolutely worth it for a special date night or even a fun dinner with family and friends. We'll definitely be back.

My partner and I are doing alphabet dating for 2026, and it was her turn to pick. If you haven't guessed it yet, we're on the letter "F," so this spot fit perfectly. Tucked into a neighborhood, the restaurant looks great both inside and out. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice, which made the experience even better. For drinks, we went with the "Her Name Was Lola" and "Sweetest Taboo", both solid choices. To start, we had the tuna tostada (a weekly special) and oysters. Both were fresh, flavorful, and honestly left me wanting more. If you're getting oysters, I highly recommend asking for the house-made hot sauce instead of the usual Tabasco. For our mains, we went with the cod fish and chips and the grilled swordfish tacos. Both dishes were excellent and really hit the mark. All in all, I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the mood for seafood.

    Macadamia Crusted Alaskan Halibut

I'm giving 5 stars for the food and beverage - had the best Aperol spritz outside of a European holiday and everything we ate was amazing. Our server seemed off and very much just there to take our order. We ordered two appetizers the albacore tataki 10/10 and the aguachile 10/10 and he confirmed my understanding of the tataki presentation and when asked if one was better he replied both are good. Entrees were the swordfish and macadamia crusted halibut both good but the lemon sauce on halibut was so good. Ambiance was clean and nice lighting.

~Food/Drinks~ Aguachile: Smaller portion but this was one of the best ceviches I've had. The fish was so fresh and it's "cooked" with the lime juice. I think this is the best way to eat fish ceviche because anytime it's actually cooked with heat and just mixed in, I've never enjoyed it. Comes with some slices of avocado and a bag of chips to dip. Miso Black Cod: Again, smaller portion but wow, the quality of the fish was good. Loved the miso flavor and the fish practically melts in your mouth. This was a little tougher to share between the table since it's just a single fillet. Calamari: Pretty standard shareable and actually comes with a lot. Super crispy and comes with a not-so-spicy aioli. Squid Ink Risotto: It's good but not one of my favorite appetizers. I thought the squid could've been more flavorful but the risotto itself was delicious. Grilled Bone-in Pacific Swordchop: Serves 2-3 people, comes with crispy, fingerling potatoes. This was like a fish steak and the meat was so interestingly tender. At first, I thought it was off-putting but the more I ate, the more I enjoyed it. The béarnaise sauce is creamy and has a slight citrus flavor. Pacific Bluefin Steak: Serves 1-2 people, comes with fries. Seared to perfection, each piece was so tender. Whole Vermillion Rockfish: Serves 2-3 people, comes with potato lyonnaise which reminded me of scalloped potatoes. A giant whole fish that can definitely serve at least 4 people. Although we didn't mind, if you're not interested in picking at parts and cleaning the meat around the bones, I wouldn't recommend it. But the flavor was so good and and the meat super tender. Pro tip: If you're looking for a more casual dinner, you can actually order Fish and Chips and Clam Chowder. These items aren't on the menu but we saw a lot of people ordering them. You can even order Clam Chowder Fries! ~Service~ We had a wonderful experience with the staff. Because of the unusually large order for our group of four, the chef came out and talked to us and checked in a couple of times. Our server was amazing and even though it was a busy evening, it didn't stop him from giving us his best. We were also celebrating a birthday but because our friend was allergic to the on-the-house sorbet, he let us pick something else off of the dessert menu instead. ~Atmosphere~ Despite the higher price point, the restaurant is pretty casual. I didn't really see people dressed up but you won't stand out if you do. Because of the display case of fish, there was always a lingering fishy smell but you get used to it and it's not overpowering. ~Logistics~ We ended up finding parking along the street. There's a small lot located next to the building but it looked like the spots were reserved for other businesses. Make a reservation on OpenTable! The restaurant got pretty busy through the night. ~Conclusion~ Overall, we had an amazing time and the experience was made so much better by the interactions with the staff. I'll have to come back soon to try their Fish and Chips because it looked so good!

This was a five experience from a five star establishment. I know experiences can vary and I know not everything always goes as planned. We managed to snag a day of reservation at The Fishery. Most of our group had been before but this was my first time. While trying to seat us on time they were going to manufacture a space for our party but I requested that we wait until a proper table was ready for us. While we did have to wait a little longer for our table of choice to clear we sat and tried a number of cocktails at the bar. The cocktails were very good and I found their alcohol prices not at all over inflated. Just like their food prices. For the level of execution I have no problem with what the dinner cost me. And I must add, we tried what I felt like was EVERYTHING. first off, for the wait we were provided with a couple of dishes as a thank you for our patience. Every appetizer was phenomenal. We were blessed with the salmon collar to start and it could honestly be the best bite of food I had this month. The carpaccio was great the Cesar salad was engulfed. The squid ink pasta was yum. Those I tasted. Then what I devoured was the macadamia nut crusted halibut. Nothing short of perfection. I believe our servers name was Ian (apologies if I am misremembering) but nonetheless the service the execution the everything was top notch. I can't wait until my next visit.

Went last Friday on a double date with friends who should basically have stock in this place with how often they go. Now I get why. The food was solid, but honestly the cocktails stole the show. Our waitress was dope and made the night easy and fun. Prices are definitely on the higher side, so it's not somewhere I'd be every week, but I'd absolutely go back. If they decided to add a happy in the mix, well then things could change!

My husband wanted to try out The Fishery for a long time, so when his birthday came around this year, we decided to make a reservation and give them a shot. - PARKING - Street parking around the neighboring areas. We got lucky and found a spot one block away. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - There are tables outside but we opted to sit inside as it was a bit cold. The inside is dimly lit, but not so much where you can't see each other. Staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our entire meal. The friends we came with love ordering a ton of food to share, and the staff/kitchen definitely took notice! Even the chef came out to say hi and see the people that definitely over ordered for a party of 4. It was funny and also nice to see that they take notice of these small things. - FOOD - Aguachile ($21.00): Smaller portion size for a shared appetizer, but the flavor was great. Fish was fresh as well. Calamari ($19.00): Crispy but not oily! Miso Black Cod ($24.00): Also very small but the quality of the fish can't be questioned. Really great flavor. Squid Ink Risotto ($28.00): Good, but I personally liked the other appetizers more than this. Grilled Bone-In Pacific Swordchop ($78.00): SUPER tender, so easy to bite through! Loved the bearnaise sauce on this as well. The dandelion greens were too bitter for me. Whole Vermillion Rockfish ($52.00): HUGE. It says serves 2-3 but I think it could serve 4-5. Pacific Bluefin Steak ($72.00): Again, very tender and well cooked. Loved the sauce au poive. - OVERALL - Great meal, great service, great vibes. We did see several other tables ordering their Fish & Chips, so we'll have to come back and try that!

Mark was amazing! I have an allergy to muscles clams and oysters (so not all shellfish but some) but my parents wanted to go here for my dad's birthday. Mark helped me find things to eat on the menu when I was struggling to find something to eat that I liked and wasn't allergic to. It's always a super cute area to eat at and I can't wait to come back!

    Lillian W.

The Fishery had been on my list for a LONG time and I can't believe it took me so long to come! Made Friday evening reservations for my dad's retirement dinner. So glad we brought the whole family so we could try as much of the menu as possible!! Cocktails were all delicious and interesting, with something for every palate). Starters were good but the entree dishes and specials were really the star for us! Not a drop of sauce left on any dishes at the end. Dessert was a perfect finish for my culinarily curious family. Although the place seemed PACKED and food took a bit - we always felt our server was attentive and communicative. Loved our experience here so much and we can't wait to come back!

New restaurant on Girard for dessert?

They've got a pretty broad menu, and do have some pretty good desserts. But, it's a seafood restaurant. Might be kinda hard to get a table just for dessert.

    Do they have Happy Hour?

Not that I am aware of. There is no real bar. And the food is expensive.

Dress code??? Is it a nice jeans or need something a little more classy?

Nice jeans or even shorts and a collared shirt!

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

    Yes

Thank goodness for the beers, because the rest of our food was barely edible. The Fish Sandwiches were two pieces of Sourdough bread, a small dollop of something like mayo or tartar sauce and two fried pieces of fish. It was very clean, looked a bit futuristic and was well coded. With different color signage to indicate where the poultry, beef, pork, seafood and prepared foods were.
