    Sriracha Shrimp Tacos
    Matthew B.

I had really high hopes for this place as I found it on the recent Yelp Top 100 2025 restaurants in the country but it was a bust wouldn't recommend. Single Fin Surf Grill has a great beach vibe with an open patio and seats facing the main street. The staff was very friendly they have a full service bar with lots of great drinks and specials. I came in for seafood tacos especially since they were listed on Yelp Top 100. I was really disappointment. My friend got the beer battered fish tacos and said they were just fine. I got the Sriracha shrimp tacos and they were just meh. I got them with a corn tortilla and one of my tacos tortillas was on the grill long enough that it turned into a tortilla chip and it was difficult for me to eat. The shrimp was just fine nothing amazing to write home about. I was really underwhelmed. Part of me had great expectations given its listing in Yelp Top 100 but I was just left disappointed. Great staff and great place but the food was just sub-par especially in Pacific/Mission Beach where you can find better food around the corner.

This is a hangout place with an open bar and some seating. We came here for a late lunch, and I had ordered the Cobb salad with sriracha fried chicken bites. It was HUGE and tasty!! I definitely recommend this place for lunch. Parking was a bit difficult to find, but there was a lot nearby. There is a great inexpensive bike rental next door. The guy at the bar was also Taking orders. He was very helpful!

The service was great and the fish and chips were really good. I loved the homemade tartar sauce! It's a very chill vibe you order at the bar and they bring to your table. My man is very picky about fish and chips and we have had alot. I don't think he liked it at all!

Our party of 6 walked in and were served immediately! The kitchen was technically closed but they still took our orders and man the food was delish! Fish tacos and burgers! So good. I had the seasonal giant grinchmas drink (that I by myself tried to finish) and it was soooo good (I was unsuccessful in my solo attempt ) Cool vibes! Would definitely recommend!

Went for there $5 breakfast/brunch, when you buy a drink and it was honestly perfect amount. Not too much or too little, just perfect. Bloody Mary also so good after a night out .

This is a cute bar along the beach. Would definitely go back for drinks. The fish tacos were very fresh and loaded. Would have loved a signature salsa to go with them for the extra kick. Very friendly staff.

The Indonesian fried rice with shrimp was unbelievably good. My wife a s the fish tacos and loved them. Family friendly with a kids menu. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is a challenge but definitely worth a try for this place.

Some notes: - Wonderful service, was helped immediately and was offered guidence as to what to order. Servers were friendly and informative. - Prices are high for a college student, but standard for La Jolla. Maybe even on the cheap side in comparison. - Best mac & cheese I've had in a long time. They do it right! - Outdoor seating is secluded enough to the point where you don't even recognize you're sitting in the middle of a parking lot. Free one hour parking, or parking on the street if you need longer. - Open kitchen is a nice touch! I would come back to try other menu items, or just for the mac & cheese. Truly a "fun foodie joint". I try to give out 5 stars sparingly, but this deserves it!

All the seating options are high-tops, so that can make things difficult if you can't sit in a high seat. There are some tables outside to sit at that are sectioned off in the parking lot. The staff are very friendly and helpful with busing tables. Unfortunately, we didn't see that the poke bowl came with a sesame eel sauce, so it was overly sweet for our liking. Additionally, the coconut rice was too sweet and very mushy. Kind of disappointed in the flavor as everything was too sweet and too mushy. The only thing that we really enjoyed was the blood orange IPA, which is not too hoppy and a great beer! People seemed to enjoy the sandwiches and burgers around us, so I would recommend trying those if you check this place out.

It has that perfect neighborhood feel where you can go for dinner, drinks, music, and always run into good people. And the service is a huge part of what makes it so special. Jerry has honestly been one of my favorite servers for years. He's been at Beaumont's for over 10 years, and he's always one of those familiar smiling faces you're happy to see when you walk in. He's friendly, attentive, hardworking, and just genuinely great with people. Mike is also amazing and always makes the bar experience fun. His knowledge of tequila is seriously impressive, and you can tell he really enjoys sharing recommendations and helping people find something they'll love. Whether you know tequila well or are trying something new, he always makes it approachable and enjoyable. The whole team at Beaumont's is wonderful, but Jerry and Mike are definitely highlights. We were also very pleasantly surprised at how delicious every item was that we ordered. We had the wagyu salisbury steak (nostalgic!) which was really great. Trimmings are used from the other steak entrees and the jus was to die for. We also really enjoyed the cabbage with fried garlic chips and homemade chili crisp sauce. Do not forget to get their sourdough which was deliciously crispy on the outside with a brown butter wash. It was quite possibly the best sourdough we have had and well worth the extra stomach space. The frozen dirty martini was a bit overdiluted for our taste so we opted for a classic martini up, which was great. Their cocktail menu is fun and worth trying one or two. We also had some bad luck and the fresh Cacio e Pepe we ordered was inedibly salty. Sole was polite in letting us know how it is prepared and that the pecorino could be a bit salty, unfortunately we have had many variations in the past and were familiar. They may have generously over salted the water it was boiled in, or the fresh pasta itself was over salted. We did not want it comped, we just couldn't take more than a bite nor did we want to take it home. Needless to say they worked to have it removed anyway. We would've paid for it no problem. The service and food was fantastic otherwise. It was really thoughtful of her/them to remove it anyway. The drinks came without delay and even their manager would stop by to help out. A great team, a great experience. Would definitely come again.

Again, it was hard to flag someone down but we finally got it. No big deal. I wanted a glass of wine with my meal. After again flagging someone down, I ordered my glass of wine from the same bartender who forgot my pepper. I was almost finished my meal and hadn't gotten my wine. I flagged another bartender down. He went and said something to the original bartender. I waited another 15 minutes and was done with my meal. Still no wine. That pissed me off. I flagged another bartender down, canceled my wine order and paid my check. I didn't leave a tip. I have not "not" tipped in probably 20 years.
