We were in town and wanted some breakfast well by the time we got there really wasn't breakfast.options Available.the staff was nice and friendly I atleast got some fried potatoes a salad and pasta with white sauce I will say I ordered all sides and there portion sizes were big for sides at least they were for me.the house salad could have had a little more to it like maybe cheese or an egg but there French dressing was good.my boyfriend said the burger and fries weren't bad average. definitely a darker bar vibe but it was cool with all the stuff they had hanging up on the walls maybe check out again if we're in town for dinner. read more

No one that goes here more than once is on Yelp. The owners would not give a sheet what I think. The interior is like Apple bees on steroids. There is a junk yard on the ceiling. So we get there and one of the people in my cohort asked if they were still serving breakfast. The server got irritated and said no. Then he had the audacity to ask for coffee! She said none had been made for the day yet and he'd have to wait. So we all got the buffet. We were warned or you order anything it takes an eternity and the only sure fire way to get in and out in an hour is buffet. Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, potatoes and salad. What a horrible experience! I went against the reviews as I know things happen and people are never happy. Well.... believe the bad reviews. We were excited to try out the place. Stood at the front because it said "wait to be seated" Stood there with several employees literally walking around us. Not one acknowledged us. They were not busy. It was about 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. There were also 2 other people in line behind us. After almost 10 minutes one waitress acknowledged us. I'll be with you in a minute. I told her not to bother and we walked out. Everyone looked like they were in a pissy mood. I could only imagine how long it would take to get waited on. We...will never know. On the other hand.... Would I go out of the way to go here again? Probably not. It fit the need along my weekend journey and the buffet was good and only $8. I wasn't in a "stuff my face" kind of mood, but after I scoped out the salads on the menu and finding that they were $9, I decided to dive in to the buffet for a $1 less. The salad bar options were fresh and plentiful. The ranch was on point. I even scooped up a bit of mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, both of which were fantastic. How does this place stay in business serving so many all you can eat options? And the hot bar options are tasty too, country style cooking... soul food. Nice little restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The smoked pork chop was very good, almost tasted like ham. The tenderloin was all right. It was thick and meaty but the breading or the oil was a little off. We sat in the bar and the bartender was either having a bad day or she has an attitude. I eat here once a year on the way to the Whispering Beard Folk Festival. I have the lunch buffet because it is pretty darn good. There's a salad area (with actual lettuce and cold veggies), a dessert/salad area (fruit in jello, pudding, etc.), a couple of soups, and a pretty huge hot bar. I usually fill a plate with veggie-type stuff (lima beans, green beans, corn, maybe soup) to eat first then go back for a smaller plate of the meat-and-carbs items. This year they had pasta with clam sauce, turkey and dressing, roast pork with gravy, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, battered fish, beans and ham, and a few other items on the Friday lunch buffet. It was all pretty tasty. Had I eaten any more, I probably would've fallen asleep before getting the campsite up in Friendship. I browsed their menu and was shocked to find brussels sprouts in the appetizer section! It said "pan friend with walnuts and balsamic". Definitely not something I expected to see at "the Grub" (locals call it that). There is a bar but also plenty of family dining. Decor is along the lines of Cracker Barrel meets TGIFriday's...lots of memorbilia glued to the walls with a redneck/country/local feel. Taxidermied animals, old newspapers, antique lanterns, etc. Some of the bar stools are seats from old fishing boats. It's that kind of place. Outside there is "found object" metal art...think bits of old cars welded into the shape of Don Quijote. Definitely a neat spot and deserving of a place in "roadside Indiana" lore. read more

Definitely an interesting place. There was a private room in the back for events that was pretty large and housed a good amount of people. The food wasn't as bad as some of the reviews. The back room was kind of outdated but the rest of the place had an interesting theme to it. I thought the waitresses were really nice and those at the bar seemed to know each other pretty well. To start out this review, I want to say that the food was excellent. I had the ribs, my wife had the pork chop, others had steaks and salads, chicken, etc. Every one was very happy with the food. We had made reservations in advance. Upon arriving, no one offered to help us, seat us or even say Hello to us. Others were waiting in line as well. After about 15 minutes one of our party went up to the cash register to find out where we were supposed to sit. Turns out that some of our group had arrived earlier than us and were seated in the large "banquet" room. That was fine, except it was chilly and a cold breeze flowed across the area. The service was terrible and some of the food and drink we had ordered was taken to the wrong table. That is the trouble with having a "bus person" deliver the food and they had no idea where it went. This is one of my pet peeves. The person taking the order should be the person who delivers the order. They should know who ordered what and deliver it to that person, not pass it down a row of seated individuals until it reaches the person who ordered that dish. If I were rating the restaurant on the service only, it would be a one star. If I were rating the restaurant on the quality of the food only, it would be a 4-1/2. Just sayin' Jeffrey J. E. read more

Just happened to be driving through at lunch time and decided to stop. They have an all you can eat buffet for $7.95. It was fair. The chicken was just the backs and they were dried out. The pork chops were tasteless. The vegetables were not very attractive. The salad bar was the best thing there. I would not go back. read more

Came to this restaurant with my extended family after our grandpa's funeral down in Versailles and our group was around 20 people. Our waitress was wonderful and took our drink orders before we even sat down! She was absolutely wonderful and accommodating for such a large party of people. The restaurant was delicious! Their fried chicken was top notch and they had a delicious hot sauce to put on the chicken! Would definitely recommend and will happily come back if I'm ever in town! Food is ok, not great... The place itself is dark, dingy and quite possibly the dirtiest restaurant in the county! There are rings of dust around the vents, the seats just ooze filth, there is so much dust all over the excessive decor it's crazy!!! I ordered the only thing available for a vegetarian on the menu: grilled cheese. It sufficed. I topped it off with a few beer-battered fries and onion rings and probably a liter of Diet Coke and it almost felt like a meal. I would describe the decor as a low-rent fusion of Cracker Barrel and TGI Friday's. Osgood is a small town, but the Grub Co. is a great place to have a meal or just meet your friends at the bar.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was not that good. The roast beef was really dry and tough. The French onion soup really had no onions in it. The walls were dry, the cobbler was pretty good. The fried chicken was pretty good. read more

I have lived all over this country. I always find a stand out where ever I have lived. I live in versallies now and The Grub is my diamond here. They serve a blacken Prime Rib which is amoung the best I have ever eaten. The brussel sprouts are a must try. I like the place and will be going bad. The prices are reasonable. If you like Prime Rib try their blacken verison it is a hit with me. The only thing stopping me from giving The Grub 5 stars is at times the service is a little slow. Not normally the case although I have ran in to it being so. They were not that busy so maybe it was shift change or something. But try the Prime Rib!!!! read more

To top off the cake, the waitress was extremely rude, and was consistently unpleasant whether it be taking orders or refilling drinks.
