I have been going to Osmosis Spa for about 20 years since I first moved to the Bay Area. It is one of the most unique spas I've ever been to and I feel like I've been to many spas. I come in about once a year to do their signature cedar enzyme bath and either get a massage or a facial. The cedar enzyme bath is what makes the place super unique as it is not done almost anywhere else in the whole country. When you arrive at Osmosis you immediately feel a sense of calm. As a guest, you have access to their meditation garden in the back. I always try to arrive early to go to the garden before my services. Next, they do a tea ceremony as part of the bath experience. The tea is mixed with enzymes that always make my stomach feel happy. I want to give a shoutout in particular to Samundra, who is a wonderful attendant. When the bath is ready you get into what is essentially a bath of fermented, warm sawdust. At first, it may be kind of weird, but you get used to it. It heats you up as you lay there. The attendant will bring you water and put cold, wet towels on your head. After you're done (20 minutes) you need to get all the cedar off of you with an exfoliating glove then take a shower. Your skin feels amazing and you feel so relaxed. I had a facial on my last visit and it was a wonderful facial that made my skin feels amazing so hydrated. My skin was glowing when I looked in the mirror. There are so many things to love about Osmosis. Come and check it out!

I had a facial service here recently which was very nice and relaxing. The property was tranquil and clean. I love that they had a tea station outside that you could help yourself to. My reason for a decrease in star was that when I checked in they didn't offer a locker or robe, maybe they only do that for certain treatments? And there was no discussion of how to walk the grounds after your service, almost felt like they wanted me to leave after the service. And there is just something about walking around in your street clothes after a spa treatment trying to meditate that just isn't as comfortable.

Came here for a day trip and it was awesome! Good: - The cedar enzyme bath is super unique - you get buried in this warm dirt and sit there and really start heating up - it's nice since the staff feed you water so you can stay in there longer and help clean off the sweat from your head - The place has a beautiful meditation garden and it was super empty at 9 am so we were the only ones in there - The staff are really nice and helped us get started with our service and explained a lot Bad: - The place is pretty small and out of the way so hard to come again! Overall enjoyed this experience and it was calming!

I went to Osmosis for the first time last night with a friend. I booked a 7:30 pm reservation for a 2-person cedar enzyme bath at 9:00 am the morning of (a Sunday). Kelly helped me on the phone & was incredibly helpful, friendly & kind. I recommend calling in if you can - the web portal is okay but lost our reservation from the night before, likely because we tried to book an unavailable service. Before going, we visited Russian River Brewery in Windsor. I recommend a healthy but hearty meal beforehand, and you're probably better off on a day you don't drink wine (I say, as someone who did). We arrived about 10 minutes before our start & were immediately on our way into our dressing rooms to don plush green robes. There are lockers with keys available to safely store belongings during the bath service. If you're comfortable, I recommend leaving all of your clothes behind to make the most of the experience. We were seated in a tea room overlooking a beautiful garden, and served an enzyme tea (peppermint) - it was relaxing to center in the tea room before heading into the bath. We were guided to a small room with a large pit of sawdust in it. The entire place smells of this fermenting enzyme mix, and it can be a bit intense if you're not expecting it. I stepped outside as my partner got undressed and into the dust. I then entered & got in. We kept our towels on and removed them once we were buried - I don't recommend doing this, because you'll want these towels when you shower after. We were in the bath for 20 minutes, with our attendant coming in every 5 minutes to put cold washcloths on our heads. I politely declined water; I don't recommend doing that - you're going to want to hydrate throughout the experience, especially if saunas have an impact on you. It was also recommended that I cover my long hair with a net, which I'm grateful I did. I loved the experience of the bath, and tried to stay as submerged as possible. I could feel my pulse throughout my body, and my face was sweating. When we got out, they gave us special silicone oven mitts to scrape off all the sawdust with on a patio. Afterwards, a shower with very nice soaps is provided, then I went back to my dressing room & changed before tipping my attendant and leaving. The entire experience takes a bit over an hour, and is worth every penny. A fantastic choice if you're looking for a uniquely Sonoma experience.

I went here during my visit to Napa Valley for my birthday weekend and everything was decent until the end. Let me explain... I booked the Cedar Bath and Massage appointment. When booking this, you have to submit a request for booking and they send you times available. This was went without a hitch and I was able to book my appointment. But it would be nice if this could just be booked online directly like their other appointments. After booking, they send over forms to complete as well as well as an email with policies. Great. Still all good! Upon arrival, there was enough parking for me to choose from and enter the facility. I was instantly greeted and taken to the changing room to get ready for my treatment. Also, they give you a watch you can wear in the bath and massage that helps you lock and unlock your locker. After getting ready and before starting my treatment, I went to a tea room that overlooked a garden which was so nice and peaceful. The tea was delicious as well. I started my treatment with the cedar bath. That felt so good to my shins that had been in pain for weeks. And the bath attendant was great with check ins and providing water. But it's definitely a journey to get all those cedar chips washed off afterwards lol. Next, I went to my massage. My massage was decent and needed. But this was the first time someone just started massaging my scalp without asking. I didn't like that after touching my feet that had to be on the shower floor as there were no shoes to wear in there. It would be great to ask before digging in if that is warranted. But what was really disappointing is there wasn't any pre communication that American Express was not accepted. I had to find a card that wasn't American Express to use. I booked the appointment knowing I was going to use my company's benefit where I must use the corporate American Express card in order to receive it. Additionally, I don't know what they would've done if I had not brought another form of payment. Communicating payment methods is crucial and it was disappointing and ruined the experience (as my blood pressure raised and I left with disappointment and a jacked up budget). I would not return based on that. If you do not have American Express, still make sure you confirm your payment is accepted and there are no additional fees.

A true gem. An absolute must if you're in the Northern California area. The staff is so, so wonderful and calming. The cedar bath is unlike anything I've ever experienced... so calming. The massages were out of this world. If you're someone who likes spa and massage, I'd literally consider this a reason to travel and visit NorCal.

Wonderful Experience. Annabelle was lovely, she hosted my enzyme bath and brought me tea, and placed cool lavender towels on my forehead. The enzyme bath was deeply relaxing, warm and aromatic. Emily gave me an exceptional deep tissue massage relieving my neck and hip pain. The meditation gardens were beautiful.

My friend and I came for the transformation package which included the cedar enzyme bath and a massage. The bath was a good experience, but would I drive two hours out of the city for this again? No. The massage was good, but I've also had better in the city. For the price, the amenities were lacking. Things we noticed that surprised us: 1) The locker rooms were co-ed, 2) if multiple parties were using the same locker room, this could lead to people being locked out while someone was changing, 3) outside of the meditation garden, there was not a lot of seating options within the main building, so not a lot of space to wait for a companion getting a service or (in my case) taking a shower, 4) there is only one shower for all the guests to use (there is a separate one specifically for the cedar bath but we were not told that we could use this after our massage). So all in all, quite disappointed in the amenities. The one thing that really irked me and my friend and bothered us long after we left was the lack of transparency in whether a service charge was included in the price of the treatment package. I had asked on checkout and the individual checking us out said verbatim 'no we don't include service fees in any of our treatments' and my interpretation of her tone was that it was expected to leave gratuity. Either she is incorrect or their website is incorrect because their website clearly states a service fee is included but gratuity encouraged. I did leave an additional tip, but in my prior experiences, a service charge is sufficient as tip, although the customer always has the option to give more in addition for an exemplary job done. I would have appreciated the transparency in pricing.

What an INCREDIBLE experience! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon. The staff was incredibly nice and congratulated us many times. We did the tea service, cedar bath and couples massage. Our staff members were GREAT and the bath/massage were so relaxing. We loved walking around the meditation garden and were very comfortable and relaxed. It definitely wasn't inexpensive but it was sooooo worth it. We had an amazing three hours we'll never forget!

We heard wild bees as we approached, walked past an almond tree in all its pink glory, and looked out to a gorgeous view of the countryside. We spent 15 - 20 minutes in the outdoor hot tub before starting our massages. Gail gave me the best massage I've had in years. She was courteous, thoughtful, and professional. I don't have any injuries or therapeutic issues, so it was just a massage to feel good. Her massage was more nuanced and relaxing than anything I've experience in a long time. Their prices are very reasonable: $100 for a 90-minute massage, including time in the outdoor hottub. This is vintage Sebastopol - outdoorsy, serene, beautiful, a little off the beaten path. As for the gate that was mentioned in a review that is a couple years old by now, it is no longer an issue. The gate was not fussy at all, it was very straightforward and easy to operate.
