We loved our experience here! We had an amazing massage and cedar bath. It was expensive i will definitely agree with you their. This was our wedding anniversary gift to our selves and we very much enjoyed it. The whole experience took around 3.5-4 hours. The tea room service was a little lack luster but was not expecting much from essentially a waiting room. The cedar bath was really enjoyable our host did an amazing job keeping us cool, with a fan wat clothes and giving us sips of water. Really enjoyed my massage with Tiffany!! Fantastic technique and massage therapist. Coming from San Rafael it was a bit of a drive, but I wanted to try it out. I opted for a private outdoor pagoda, super cool! The building itself is kinda old & smelled a bit to me but the concept was awesome. I went for the cedar enzyme soak, Ariell is very sweet, informative, and has a wonderful disposition. The tea was lovely in the little sitting room with a view, the views are amazing. Everything about my experience with Ariell was genuinely caring. I dont know who was on the phone with me for my initial inquiry, but she must be a massage therapist, It was very important for this person to tell me, "we tack on %20 your service", OK?. My husband booked this for my birthday and it was a great experience but a couple of things to note. Tea was amazing. When asking how long as Cedar bath is, the front desk will tell you an hour, it's actually 20 mins. Our bath attendant Jenny was fantastic. She explained everything well and checked up on us frequently. The massage was relaxing but definitely not the best. As we checked out the front desk girl was very cold and matter of fact. The only unfriendly person there. She told us about the mandatory 20% tip minimum and said they determine who gets what. My only gripe is that if you're going to charge a minimum it should be listed or add it to the price. We were ready to tip (I originally asked for envelopes) but it was the delivery of it that made it seem hostile and very money grubbing. Definitely did not leave the spa feeling welcomed. I was in bliss yesterday at Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary. When I woke up in the morning, I set my intention to "dream awake" and from the moment my feet hit the floor everything was set, the drive to Osmosis was beautiful, traffic was slow and steady, the road construction crew were smiling and nodding or giving a wave as people drove by. Upon arriving at Osmosis, the parking lot was packed, they had a few spots closed off for some reason, but every spot was taken! The owner; Michael was talking with someone in the parking lot, and his light and love just radiated. I waited patiently, just breathing in all that loveliness that is Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary. When I walked in, I was promptly greeted by the friendly staff, and Michael was walking past; he remembered me from a Yelp event and greeting me with a handshake and hug. I was given a lovely robe and a locker of my choice to put my things in, and headed to the beautiful meditation path which led me to the meditation garden, where the flowers were in bloom, the butterflies were busy, the dragonflies were zipping around and the tadpoles had transformed themselves in to frogs ... I sat for a bit, with my eyes closed, and when I opened my eyes, I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I can't describe the beauty and peace here, photos do not do this place justice. This is the sweet spot of Northern California!! This is truly a sanctuary, it's not a drunken spa day trip with your girls type of spa, it's a somber, sober, spiritual experience; at least it was for me. After a while, Tamara came to retrieve me from my peaceful space and let me to a pagoda near the creek, it was lovely, set up with a table, some lotions, creams, essential oils (I did not partake) and a heater; which I asked to have turned off. Tamara opened the windows and the sweet smell of the trees, flowers and sounds of water flowing and wooden chimes blowing in the wind lulled me to a state of utter relaxation before my massage had started!! Tamara asked me about the areas of concern, I explained my health situation, and that I really liked my feet and hands worked on and deep pressure on them. Well, Tamara did not disappoint, she went straight to my feet and ankles and worked her magic, then moved on to the rest of my body; but focused on acupressure/massage on my feet, and I felt the tension and pain leaving my body and restoration of my spirit. We had a very good, conversation about life, death and the after life. I felt like my higher power, the universe, God, Gods, and Goddesses all came together and paired me with the right massage therapist; she massaged my body, mind and spirit. When the massage was over, I went to the front desk and they guided me to my picnic table for lunch. I brought my own lunch; as I'm not a fan of what was offered, or not knowing ahead of time what I'll be eating. I enjoyed a spinach salad and fruit from Trader Joe's, by the creek. I watched the bees buzzing around, spiders making their way across the trees, birds flying free ... and for once in my life I did not want to smash a spider, instead I was caught up in the wonder of their tenacity and their devotion to building a home. After my lunch break, it was time for my facial! Oh my GOSH!!! Azja (sp) was my esthetician, and from the moment I saw her, I felt calm, and warm. I got settled in and she got to work, and our conversation was on a higher level of spiritual and spirit matters. Our connection was not just skin care, but on a more personal level. She massaged my neck and shoulders and head during the facial and I had to refrain from drooling, as it was the most relaxing and peaceful experience during a facial that I've ever had (and I get facials once a month) I was then off to have some hammock time, and sound therapy. If you don't know about the bin-aural beats, do a little research prior to committing to this bonus time of rest and relaxation. If you're not comfortable with the sound therapy, maybe they'll let you hang out in a hammock (it's an extra $20), all you have to do is ask, it's either a yes or a no. I did not want to leave!! If I could have stayed there ALL day, I would ... wait, I did! I was there from around 10:45 until 4:20 and it was worth every second of the time, and every penny spent; a lot of pennies, but hey, I deserved to be pampered. If you want your soul and your body to align, and to feel true peace outside of your own home, this is the place. Words really cannot describe it, and the photos don't really do it justice, you can't feel with words, you can't feel with photos, but you can get an idea of what you might feel. A slight breeze, the sound of the trees dancing, the chimes in the distance, birds wings, butterflies fluttering, dragonflies dashing, frogs swimming, a gardener quietly making the space even more beautiful than it already is, the colors of every flower, every leaf, rock and creature here is magnified in glorious ways. read more

Even after time, I'm still completely floored by our terrible experience. So I'm writing my first ever review. After a month-long wait scheduling the couples fusion massage for my husband's birthday, we both took the day off work & travelled 1-1/2 hours rt. But after checking in, we were left standing in the gift shop for 45 minutes & our practitioners never showed up to get us. We then heard frantic whispering at the front desk & deduced our practitioners grabbed the WRONG clients (never even realizing their mistake, they were now giving a scarce personal care massage to clients who had never even signed up for it). We had to get back in our cars and leave with only a rescheduled appointment yet another entire month away and were offered ZERO compensation for our horrible ordeal. Shocked by how the situation was handled, I wrote an email detailing our sad experience hoping they would make things right. Their customer care manager (who had been present at our ordeal) called and offered just 15% off. When I reiterated all we'd been through, she asked I give her one day to get approval from management to compensate us with "what she really wanted to do for us." But she NEVER EVER CALLED US BACK!! I had to call the front desk & explain our situation again and was reassured they'd have her call us back. But again no return call. I even had to call again the morning of our rescheduled appt to see if we should show up. Finally the front desk took some action and got us just one single comp (noting she'd never seen them do that). My friends in the industry are floored we weren't offered immediate full comps and extras with profuse apologies. You'll note all Osmosis correspondence reiterates no-shows are charged full price, but they do not extend this same respect to their clients (which is even more involved since it requires travel time, waiting & setting the day aside). To add insult to injury, on our rescheduled appt the customer care manager checked us in. She didn't even acknowledge who we were or what we'd been through. She just stated, "Oh the fusion massage .... That's my favorite." Aaargh!! So yeah, this was the opposite of a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. It was a stress-inducing hassle. read more

I loved Osmosis! If you're looking for an outdoor spa, this place is the perfect vibe. The Japanese Tea Garden was a great space to clear my mind before the spa day. The garden is gorgeous and they pay great attention to the details that make the environment aesthetically pleasing too. I sipped my tea and waited until it was time for my Cedar Enzyme Bath where I napped for a bit. After that, I showered and it was time for my 70-minute massage in the Pagoda! This was the highlight of my experience here! After my massage I was able to explore for a little while longer and get some pics of the scenery. This was a gorgeous, peaceful Japanese-inspired oasis in the heart of Sonoma County. I went for a Yelp Elite event and everyone we met was warm and friendly and we enjoyed the (scrumptious) food, (divine) wine, and (lovely) music from local business partners. The steamy hot enzyme bath was...different. The more you move, the hotter it gets. Apparently, I passively wiggle my (firey) toes! Who knew??! I enjoyed the cedar aroma. I imagine this experience as a perfect for a bachelorette spa day or a romantic full day getaway. Definitely get the lunch!! I give it 4 and not 5 stars because my foot massage was more pain than pleasure. Her personality was delightful but she pressed too hard for my comfort and it genuinely hurt a couple of times. I recommend asking for the type of touch you need before booking, if you know. My BF loved his! I was surprised to hear that 30% of their visitors are from out of state. I surprised my husband for his birthday with the "Warmth of Love" for two package - we arrived a bit early so we could enjoy the Zen garden and enzyme tea, then relaxed in a cedar bath together before our 70 minute massages. Our expectations for this lovely day spa were exceeded. Enjoy an early afternoon treatment, then stay in Occidental and have an early dinner and good night's sleep, like we did. The facilities are beautifully maintained, and we enjoyed the more casual, rustic feel. Our bath attendant, Camille, was so attentive and cheerful, keeping us hydrated and comfortable through our time baking in the cedar bath. I have had many massages at different resorts or spas, but had the best massage ever from Jerris - his technique was fantastic, and I felt like he tuned in to what my poor aching muscles needed. If he was in Napa, I'd go to him every week! The front desk staff was very helpful and explained all the fees, including guidelines for gratuity and how it would be shared with all the practitioners. We had a wonderful experience doing a spa day here. Started out in the Cedar enzyme bath. Taryn took really good care of us to make sure we were comfortable. After 5 minutes it got pretty hot! If you move around, it made it even more hot so I tried to keep still. After 10 minutes, it was a bit much. I know my body was thanking me for it. This was great for my circulation. To relieve myself from burning up completely, I decided to leave one leg out and took my arms out. Taryn would come in and adjust us and put cold towels over our foreheads and face. The two times she did that felt the best. Make sure you are able to put your hair up if it's long and don't bother wearing any makeup. It will just come off from the sweat dripping down your face. After the cedar bath, we rinsed in a private shower that had exited to a private room where we had our robes. Btw, changing rooms were equipped with slippers and robes. They have lockers for your belongings. We took a stroll and had lunch in a private area over looking the woods. The salad was amazing. Unfortunately we had made arrangements ahead of time for no chicken in one of the salads. They ended giving us chicken salad. They work with a private restaurant and so we had to make the reservation over the phone in advance. Small mixup I suppose. After lunch, we browsed the garden more and meditated a bit. The botanical garden walk was so peaceful. I'm really glad we got to check this spot out. We've recommend it to friends. Would love to try a massage outdoors next spring! read more

Had a great experience visiting with a friend. We did the cedar enzyme bath, which started with tea served by our lovely bath attendant. She sculpted out areas in the tub for us and came in frequently to check on us, offering a cool towel. After the bath, we took a long shower, and I tell you, it takes a while to get cleaned off with the cedar blend. We also got to spend time in the garden, which was gorgeous and relaxing. Amazing experience!!! I went for my first time with my sister this past weekend. We did the traditional package (rejuvenation?). We already have planned to come back with our partners later this year! You start with receiving sandals and changing into robes and putting your stuff in a coded locker (you choose the code). You are then greeted by your spa guide and given the spa's signature tea and can relax in a little tea sanctuary garden. (You leave your shoes on their porch in a wooden shoe rack). [The sizing for the robes was relatively petite and plus size friendly as well. They had a XS, standard size, XL and 3X. The 3X would likely fit (depending on body type) ~18 to a 24. The robes, I believe, are from Japan?]. Then we were put into the cedar enzyme baths which are very unique! My sister and I were placed side by side in one (not touching though). Our guide gave us water and lavender cold cloths multiple times during the ~20 minutes dry bath. The view is beautiful of a garden that you then exit into to brush off the cedar stuck to your body. You are alone during this part as well. It is recommended you are nude during the bath, however, you can wear underclothes. Just make sure to bring a change of them if you do this as they will be covered and stained with cedar debris. Up to 4 people can be in the baths if you are in a group, however, if you are in a smaller group than that you are alone. You then enter a shower (which can also hold 4) and rinse the remaining cedar debris off. They provide shampoo, body wash and conditioning spray. I do recommend washing your hair as the cedar gets everywhere... You then get back into your provided robes which your guide moved earlier to your showering area, sandals, etc and proceed to the massage waiting room. Water is also provided and available throughout the house. The massage was WONDERFUL and possibly the best we have ever had. I had Gretchen and my sister had Janis (spelling?). The massage was 70 minutes long. After this we had requested the sound bath which I recommend doing when you arrive if you can. This is in a private area by the meditation garden and by reservation only. You get headphones and an iPod type player with a 30 mins sounds playlist. You then are put into hammocks or anti-gravity chairs. Kayla was great and assisted us. She brought us a pot of tea to enjoy out there. It was lovely and beautiful views. After the bath we went to the meditation garden which was stunning and set up with meditation seating or walking paths. This also has outdoor water stations before entering so you stay hydrated! All of their products and other nice snacks and items are for sale in their store which is where you check in and out. The parking lot was plentiful and there is a simple but lovely seating garden area in the front. Overall, loved every second of it. Highly recommend. read more

Special package: massage, cedar bath, upgrade to pagoda. I requested to be in pagoda on the phone but because of the rain, front desk Amanda asked if masseuse Daisy wanted to be indoors or outdoors. Daisy picked indoors and proceeded to set up inside. I sat and waited and the rain stopped. I requested to be in pagoda again. I came to this spa for 4 reasons: Japanese garden, lymph massage, cedar bath, pagoda. Amanda talked to Daissy and Daissy informed me it would cut down my massage time by 5 mins since she has to set up again in pagoda. I said ok. She was not apologetic, just rude and flustered. Acting like I was annoying her. She left in a frazzled and hurried state. Not very zen for a masseuse. I was escorted to outside waiting area and told Daissy would come get me but she never came. I finally walked to pagoda to see if she was ready and she was. My massage appt was at 2:45. When she started massaging me it was 3:10. She repeated my massage will end at 3:55 because of another client. I debated about the time while she massaged me. When I said I'll complain since I paid for 70 mins not 45 she asked me not to. No apologies or anything. Massage itself was good. She did massage for 60 mins but 15 mins was arguing about the time so I was not fully relaxed the whole time. I expect better for $336. I've had better service elsewhere. Terrible! Even the Korean spas have better service and massages for lower prices. read more

Beautiful place and wonderful experience with the cedar wood soak. I spent a good chunk of the afternoon walking around the property which is absolutely beautiful! The whole cedar wood soak experience is about an hour - changing into robe, getting Japanese enzyme tea, 20 minute soak, and shower. I enjoyed every aspect of this place until the very end when the receptionist (an elderly woman) forced a 20% tip on top of the bill. That definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I had such a great time and I would've tipped 20% anyways if not even more. However, that attitude of forced tip just left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

Absolutely horrified by how rude the receptions are. At beginning of the service, we were given shopping bags to put our clothes in. We just assumed that's they were free considering that they look like 10 cents grocery store bag. As we were leaving, after spending a lot 800+ a huge tip, the reception ran out an grabbed the bag from my hand! Actually yanked it out and yelled at me. We didn't even want your cheap bags!! A bigger concern is why they reusing shopping bags during COVID? What other unclean practices do they follow? It's crazy to go to a place where they are so rude. It overshadowed the entire experience. A total shame. I read the reviews and the bad customer experience and now I know why there are so many complaints. Updating from 1 to 3 stars: Guest services called and apologized for the incidence. They also offered complementary Cedar Baths. Amazing customer service They were super accommodating with the last minute availability Cons: My massage therapist "rubbed me" not really technically a massage. I left feeling unsatisfied like I paid someone to just rub me. The couples massage was not relaxing. They had the blinds open and it was super bright, I would expect no lights, candles and soft music. Definitely request this because it was hard to relax with the sun shining in the room. I regret not mentioning something for how much I paid. But it's really my fault for not asking them. Just thought I'd notate they should implement this in every massage room. My husband liked the bath. I actually hated it lol but he said it was incredibly relaxing. I think it is just everyone's own preference TRY IT OUT! For me it felt uncomfortable and scratchy but my husband almost fell asleep lol I have to say my back was aching before the bath and I went in and I had no back pain... sooo... I'm thinking it's great for pain. Just super strong scent and scratchy for me BUT again. Everyone seems to love it lol The shower was so peaceful. The tea was delicious! I would definitely come here again. I would just request to have my room darkened and ask someone who adds a bit more pressure. I felt like someone was just brushing their hand on me. What a great, hidden retreat! We came here for a cedar enzyme bath because we won a gift certificate at a fundraising event and were pleasantly surprised with the whole place. The grounds are gorgeous and very much peace-inducing (especially on a Sunday evening when you practically have the place to yourself). The complimentary tea, water, and trail mix were much appreciated. Staff was super nice and informative. Now, the cedar enzyme bath was quite the experience for us newbies. Lying in a pile of hot mulch was not as bad as one would imagine. It was nice to sweat everything out, enjoy the view of the grounds from our room, and then take a nice shower to get everything off. Fist time I came here was on a yelp event. I was lucky enough to bring my aunt who won a free cedar bath for two and she brought me back. We arrived early for we got to enjoy some tea and chat for a bit. We enjoyed the tea room such a beatiful view. We choose the hot hot cedar bath it was perfect our attendant came in with cold cloths 20 mins went by pretty fast after getting all cleaned up we went back to the sound therapy room which was nice and relaxing 30 mins of great sounds I fell asleep not sure how long but before I knew it it was over. Would love to go back for a full day of pampering. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting Osmosis pre-Covid, and have wistfully been thinking back to my day there as a panacea for general 2020 stress and anxiety. I think of the welcoming garden out front, with only the sounds of the occasional birdsong and wind chime to break the silence, the feel of the plush, pillowy robes, and the peace of a tea ceremony before my massage. I unfortunately couldn't take the cedar bath I booked because of a recent surgery, but I was able to luxuriate in the field of hammocks before my massage. My massage therapist was fantastic, and used just the right amount of pressure to get out some gnarly knots, while still making the experience relaxing.
