It's not the easiest getting a reservation here, but if you aim for 5pm or 8:45pm, it's easier. Reservations were gone in under 2 minutes when it was released at the end of the month. You get another chance Tuesday through Sunday at noon to snag a cancellation, which is easier in my opinion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pasta bar isn't the typical bar you'd imagine. You're seated at the place they actually make the pasta looking at a wall with pasta making tools. The peppadew peppers were recommended to us, but we did not enjoy it. They ended up removing it from our bill, which we thought was nice. It was a bit too much cheese for us, but it was still good. The tagliatelle was good, but the vegetables in it were a bit strange. You don't really expect a crunch with your pasta. What I really didn't like about the dish was the black pepper. I'd randomly bite into a black pepper and it was overpowering. The lemon panna cota was tasty with the strawberries and cookies. We tried the warm olives, bread with fresh churned butter, squash blossoms, chicken liver pate, gnocchi, wagyu special, chocolate budino, and lemon-poppy seed bombolini. I loved everything, but the squash blossoms were my favorite. They were stuffed and creamy. I took the "pane" bread and churned butter home and ate it for days. Elsa is the best! I now understand why this is one of the toughest tickets to get in DFW. My wife and I were fortunate enough to dine here this evening. While there are many words that could be used to describe Osteria Il Muro, the word that comes to mind for me is: thoughtful. Our Server was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever had the experience of having a restaurant. As it was our first time dining here, he was personable and patient and took the time to go through the menu. Since my wife is pregnant there are things she has to watch out for and even went so far as to change out certain items to ensure they were pasteurized. The establishment itself has beautiful decor and as many are already aware sits within a former home. I privately laughed to myself because I remember going to a college party 20 years ago at a home a few houses down. We sat near the pasta station and it was so interesting to see the tools that were used earlier in the day to make the food we got to enjoy. The food was absolutely phenomenal, the baby lettuce was one of the best salads I have ever enjoyed and the olive oil used for the salad dressing was superb. As for the main courses, the ragu that I ordered was phenomenal. But I have to say that the vegetarian pastas we ordered stole the show. Nothing was "too heavy" and was light and enjoyable. Yes, this place is difficult to get a reservation at, but no it's not impossible (just have to time the app right!) It's well worth the effort, trust me. We had a party of 4 who was able to secure a table inside the restaurant (house) and we were not disappointed. The waitress was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about their current offerings. I've added photos of the menu, but note that it frequently changes. Like, I had a coworker who went 2 weeks prior, and only 2 of the items they ordered were on the menu we had. They were out of the wine I originally ordered, but it turned out to be fate because it turns out I probably wouldn't have liked it anyways based on the waitress's description. The focaccia is a MUST ORDER item. I almost ordered a second serving. And the butter is made in house. We also got the squash blossoms (phenomenal), the salumi plate (meats also made in house, and so good), the peppadew peppers (I would've ordered these on their own), and their version of a ceasar salad (kind of standard). Both of the guys ordered the Tagliatelle al ragu, made with wagyu and aged parmesan - it was TO DIE FOR, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just right. I ordered the Tortelli ai tre formaggi and loved it (but I'm biased towards anything with truffles). My bff ordered the Strozzapreti and said it was good, but I think she missed out on the full experience (she's also not a foodie, so take that with a grain of salt). Dessert was their Bombolini which were perfectly small fried donut-like items and an excellent way to round out our meal. Highly recommend ordering these as well, even if you're not a big "sweets" person. Overall, highly recommend if you're willing to make the trek to Denton and can secure a reservation. Harder to get reservations than Taylor Swift? No way, but the anticipation of clicking refresh in my free time was totally worth the whole experience! I had the pleasure of being able to secure the late night patio option on a supurb cool fall day. The heaters were on which was a nice touch since the indoor option at the time was pretty cold I was happy being outside. Our server was excellent, providing amazing feedback on the different dishes offered. The focaccia was mind-blowing good, textured amazingly with a nice plush. The butter paired is soft for spreading, I would prefer the butter to be a little saltier. The Squash Blossom app was lightly fried and topped with a sweet honey glaze. This is another amazing dish as part of their fall seasonals. I got reminded of a relaxing summer morning watching cartoons with the fruit loops-esque taste mouth explosion when I bit into it. An interesting dish that is well executed. Gnocchi is my second favorite right below the focaccia. It is a non-traditional spin with the use of flour as opposed to potato from what I recall. The meat was fried with a range of plump fat pieces and some that were more protein forward, along with the chili crisps, this created a unique experience with a different kaleidoscopic flavor profile with every bite. Tagliatelle pays homage to a more traditional flavor profile that has thick long pasta and meat sauce for anyone that is looking for a classic. Bombolini is their spin on brioche donuts with hazelnuts and homemade Nutella. Not too sweet, and a well balanced end to the experience. Best Fine Dining Meal I have had in DFW so far... This place? Harder to snag than a table at The French Laundry. I nailed the French Laundry reservation on my first try--this one took me seven tries. But, hey, persistence pays off! I would give you a few tips to help you snag one, but after your 7th try, you will have a few tricks of your own, and you gotta earn this reservation like I did! They only have about 26 seats inside (and a few outside if the weather and luck are on your side). Pro tip: Be prepared for the Irving-to-Denton traffic since they only hold reservations for 15 minutes. We went for our anniversary (well, a day early), and they left a sweet card signed by the entire staff waiting for us. The sourdough focaccia with honey wash and some special higher fat butter? Divine. We paced ourselves, only eating one piece each, then moved on to the apps--squash blossoms (with a lightly fried tempura style batter - score!) and fennel-heavy arancini with minty pesto. We even got a "human bag" (you know, the adult version of a doggy bag) for leftovers. Reheated arancini in the air fryer the next day? Perfection! The food was coming out pretty fast, so I told Ben to hold putting gin our pasta order, to give us a moment to breathe and make a little tummy room. We split two pastas, recommended by our fab waiter, Ben: the Corzetti and Casarecce. Both were mind-blowing and had me wanting to add guanciale and chestnuts to all my future home-made pasta "concoctions" (as my husband likes to call them.) Dessert? We went with the lemon and pine nut tart (my minor quibble would be - like "cow bell" it could have used "more pine nuts", and I would have liked it slightly less chilled). Definitely planning to try again, maybe when their garden's in full bloom--if I can ever score another reservation! It says $$$$ on Yelp - but the most expensive thing on the printed menu was $28, so I would put it more at $$-$$$. I've been hearing about Osteria Il Muro from so many different friends & online publications over the past few years and finally got a chance to try it last night with my husband and two friends. Denton is certainly a bit of a trek for us, but all that travel was worth it for the excellent dinner experience. From the very beginning when we parked and checked in all the way through the night, service was amazing and we felt super cared for. We arrived about 20 minutes early for our 7:30 reservation and at the door we were greeted by James, who brought out a couple of wine menus and let us know that they were wrapping up the last cover and would probably be able to seat us early! We waited outside for about five minutes before being brought inside to our table. The vibe inside was super cozy; we loved the wall tiles and ceiling detail and the family photos hung around the house, and it was neat to be able to peek across the room and see the chefs hard at work. Our server Belen was so helpful explaining the menu in full detail to us throughout the evening and providing great recommendations when we asked about various dishes. Our group started with the focaccia which was incredible! All the reviews that mention how delicious it is truly didn't steer us wrong. We loved the sweet tinge of honey on the bread and the cultured butter was so smooth and flavorful. Amazing first bite, which then led into our antipasti. We went with the fried squash blossoms, the duck liver mousse, the heirloom tomato and nectarine salad, and the peppadew peppers, which was a good combination of lighter and heavier dishes. Our favorite was the duck liver mousse, spread across perfectly toasted bread and paired so well with the apricot preserves and crunchy pistachios. I also really enjoyed the salad; the fruit and dressing had such a lovely brightness! And the squash blossoms came with this sweet basil crema and orange honey, super fun flavor combination. For primis, we ordered the off-menu special of the evening, a sous vide coppa with pan-fried gnocchi, as well as the leek top fettuccine, tortelli, and the risotto of the day. All of these items were incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing them family-style. The risotto of the day was Mexican-inspired, super creamy and bright with a nice little kick from the chili crunch. The leek top fettuccine was an amazing carbonara-esque dish, and the tortelli came in this incredible creamy tomato sauce that we loved. The coppa was probably the world's best version of a holiday ham, so tender and moist with a lovely sweet glaze. All the flavors of each dish worked so well together and I wish I'd had room for more! We ended with a couple of desserts: the gelati flight which came with three delicious flavors (my favorite was the cherry!) and the best cannoli we've ever had. Shells were super thin and shatteringly crisp, and the filling was lovely with the crumbled pistachios at the ends for crunch and some amarena cherry drizzle. A delightful end to our meal! On our way out we saw the little garden out back where a lot of the herbs and vegetables are sourced, which was super lovely. From start to finish, we enjoyed every aspect of our dinner last night. We arrived a few minutes before our 7:00 p.m. reservations and were seated right on time. Our server came over immediately with water and to take our drink orders. Throughout the evening, she was timely in coming by, was very friendly, and described every dish beautifully and in great detail. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We shared an order of focaccia with cultured butter and the buratta and both satisfied. The freshness and quality of the ingredients as well as the care that went into crafting each item really showed through. My mafaldine was also of high quality and composed beautifully with no ingredient dominating the dish. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente and it was not overly sauced. We closed the meal out with the vanilla bean semifreddo which was a perfect ending and not too sweet or heavy. All in all, everything was balanced and satisfying. The interior is very cozy but we didn't feel cramped. The decor is rustic but highlights the same authenticity & purpose found in the dishes. This place is amazing. I would say this is a rated restaurant. Service, presentation and the food are all on point. There is no better restaurant in the area in my opinion. Small seating so make your reservations way ahead of time. Their budget friendly wine menu is spectacular and always changing just like their food menu. This is The Bear style restaurant. Visiting the area, but we originally heard about the restaurant from a friend from the area as well as the process to secure a reservation. We were astounded when precisely at noon central time on the last Monday of the month prior, we clicked the button to submit for a party of FOUR and we were unable to find any times for the whole week we were there. So sorry to our other two guests, they had dinner at another restaurant instead. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I always love a good farm to table restaurant, and when parking, it was lovely to be able to peak into the actual garden![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu changes every day so I didn't bother uploading the menu here, you'll just have to go an be surprised. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself is an old house so it's located in a quiet neighborhood, and the interior is comfy with tables sat very close to each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very attentive and extremely knowledgeable on the menu so we went along with all of his recommendations. The dishes were all tasty, and the freshness of the ingredients was impressive, but for all of the commotion/stress/hassle to get a reservation, I was expecting a bit more. It was our anniversary, so they presented us with a celebratory dessert as well as a card. It was humorous as we opened it up to see that it read "Happy Birthday" so we must have gotten switched up with another table. Wow.. what a dream dinner. One of the best Italian dinners I've ever had. The attention to detail in each dish and the freshness is incomparable. I highly recommend starting the dinner with an order of the focaccia and burrata. The warm bread is baked fresh and changes daily. We loved the arancini as well. My favorite pastas of the night were the gnocchi with ramps and also the pasta that had the rabbit sausage. I was skeptical at first but there was no gamey or tough texture to the rabbit sausage at all. Always end the night on dessert! My favorite was the chocolate caramel flan. My friends really enjoyed the vanilla cake (similar to pound cake). Definitely a must try restaurant if you are able to book a reservation! All the staff is super nice and informative about each dish. The restaurant is this cute little house so it's super intimate. 5/5 read more

Secure that reservation by any means!!! You do not want to miss out on this quaint restaurant. I secured this reservation a month in advance and it was something I thought about constantly until the day came! We visited to celebrate our birthdays and were greeted with a personalized birthday card, it was a great touch. The food was amazing, we had so many pastas that I forgot what we ordered. The focaccia bread is a must! The moscato that they offered was sooo good. Embarrassingly for me, I spilled my wine into one of the pastas but they promptly replaced it. When I first heard how difficult it was to get a reservation, I decided that maybe it wasn't worth my sanity. But then, I was gifted a reservation and it changed my life. The spring menu was incredible, and there wasn't a single thing that I wouldn't eat again. Six months later, I decided that our anniversary was worth the reservation battle. I'll be honest - it's like the Wild West in the reservation portal, times and dates being snatched up every half second. But the fall menu reminded me that it's worth it!
