I placed a pickup order that someone else picked up. So I didn't get a first hand view of the place or the attentiveness of the staff. I ordered the chicken Murphy. And it was really good. I would warn it is fairly spicy. But I picked around the jalapeños and mild it ever so slightly. I did not care for the calamari very bland and chewy. My associate that picked up the food. Got a tiramisu and was disappointed as well. We were again a pick up order. Perhaps in store is a little different. read more

Better go while you can. They advertise Lunch Specials "from" $12.99. Spaghetini w/marinara is the only item, all the rest are $13.99 and above. This is an old Smashburger. They didn't change a thing except for Italian "art" on the wall (looks like a busboy ran down to Home Goods on his break) The Chicken Picatta is made with Sysco rubber chicken, the manager said it wasn't but it certainly is not fresh chicken. The Spaghetini used in 90% of their dishes is thin and mushy-why bother?!? Lunch comes with a salad of romaine and purple lettuce with cherry tomatoes. I picked "balsamic vinegrette" which was just oil & vinegar cruets. The Italian Pinto Grigio was a delightful bright spot as was the friendly and attentive service. (Although the hostess told me my server would be right with me, then she came back to take my order. Apparently she was the only person working... huh?) The Magager was nice enough to take the entree off my bill but come on - do better with your food! Go while you can, these guy's will be gone in a year! read more

This place is literally 1.5 miles from our new home in Coppell. The restaurant was still pretty quiet with only a few tables occupied, but it was definitely filling up by the time we left. We started with the bruschetta for the table. It was fine, but probably not worth the price, especially since the bread that came with our entrées was actually better. I'd suggest just asking for that instead. I've been wanting to try this Chicken Murphy for a while (maybe a Texas thing, I've seen it on a few Italian food menus in and around the area for a while?). It's chicken in a cream sauce with peppers and artichokes. The menu listed cherry peppers, but what I got were jalapeños, which was honestly disappointing. As an East Coaster, cherry peppers are very much a thing, and I was excited to see them included in this dish. The dish itself was still pretty good, very hearty, and easily enough for leftovers. I just wish the menu or server had clarified the pepper swap. I did point it out to the server and all I got was a confused shrug... Another person at our table had the chicken parm, which looked excellent. Service overall was good, and I'd definitely come back, just a bit wiser about what to order next time. I really loved visiting this Italian eatery! I ordered the Chicken Murphy and my wife got the Chicken Parmesan and a pizza, crème brûlée and tiramisu. The chicken dishes were delicious and the crème brûlée was to die for!! We had one issue which is that the pizza had onions and puréed garlic as toppings but these toppings were barely cooked. I think the way they make the pizza just barely cooks the toppings, which would be nice for fresh toppings like tomato and spinach but I don't recommend getting onion and garlic. The restaurant removed it from our bill no problem. I also enjoyed the interior which was comfortable and relatively quiet. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back. read more

The service really is outstanding at this local family restaurant and the people are extremely nice. The chicken Murphy was good. I found the rest of the pasta dishes I've tried there to be OK. This was our first time at Luigi's in Coppell. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We started off with the calamari. This was one of the better dishes of the night. Crispy and not over breaded, it was a great starter. For the main dishes we had the Chicken Murphy and the Chicken Parmesan. The Chicken Parmesan was ok, the pasta was over cooked and the chicken was underwhelming. The chicken Murphy was pretty good but a little spicier than we expected. The highlight of the night was the dessert of homemade tiramisu. This was one of the best desserts I have had in a while. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back for the dessert and espresso. read more

I had been wanting to try this place for awhile now and it didn't disappoint!! We walk in and were met by our waiter Jim. He took us to our table and asked if that was our first time here. We said yes so he preceded to tell us about the food. We decided on the lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. As we were waiting for our food I noticed the decor. We were seated pretty quickly, despite them being almost completely full on a Saturday night. Everything came at a good pace, without feeling rushed. I had the Chicken Florentine, which was very delicious! My husband had the Chicken Marsala, and loved it. We had house salads (not on the menu, but available). They were a healthy field greens assortment with tomatoes, and a red house dressing. The service was attentive, but not the kind that interrupts too often. It did take awhile to het our check at the end. I'd give them 4-1/2 stars, just because I save 5 stars for the best of the best. The restaurant is owned by a friendly and hard working family. One of the sons, Elvis, waits on us regularly and he's an impressive young man. It's such a pleasant experience every time we go. Rich was our server. Very attentive, easy to communicate with and friendly. For apps, we had Ciabatta bread, calamari and shrimp scampi. Their house "bread sticks" was so good. Entrees: chicken Murphy is one of their most popular dishes - it was so different, but so good. It was definitely a big plate! Very generous on the artichokes! Chicken cacciatore - meat was so tender. Italian sausage and pepper spaghetti - the marina sauce was so fresh. And there was plenty of traditional sausage slices in it! Lasagna was cooked perfectly. Fettuccine Alfredo sauce was perfectly balanced, even by itself without any protein. Their desserts were out of this world. Tiramisu was fresh - the cream was so fluffy. Probably one of the best tiramisu I've ever had. Lemon cake was FIRE. It was perfect , not too tarty not too sweet. I'd come back for this alone on my sugar cravings night! Italian cake was soooooo amazing. So moist with pecans in it. And the creme brulee was fresh and fluffy - very dense not watery. I understand they are a new restaurant and the staff probably need more training, so hoping things will be better when they're more established. We went on Friday night around 6:20 PM and it was very busy. We joined our friends at a table who had already ordered and it took a while for someone to clean our table and give us menus. Took longer to place our orders, about 30-40 minutes later to get our food and house bread (when the table next to us that arrived after were almost done with their food). We had to flag someone down to get utensils because after the table was cleaned we didn't get extra utensils... I got the margherita pizza which from other reviewers' photos looked a little bland and it did taste a little bland. It tasted like a cheese pizza with a few slices of basil on top. Good to share with LOs I suppose. My husband's shrimp alfredo was really good, however. The alfredo sauce was very light and flavorful and the shrimp was juicy. I'd say the restaurant seemed like a casual Italian dining spot, not a romantic date spot. read more

We had high hopes for this new spot in town, but were disappointed with our lunch today. I ordered the lasagna and it came out very flat and looked like it had been microwaved. It didn't look fresh and while the flavor was ok, it wasn't great. My sister had the Margherita pizza and again, it looked like it had been frozen. The best thing we had was the toasted ciabatta bread with olive oil but for $6 for 4 small slices, it was a ripoff. Our total was $51 and that was without any alcohol as they won't have wine and beer in until Tuesday. Our server, Jim, was very nice and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. We got to experience this nice new addition to coppell for the first time per my parents recommendation (their 3rd time here)! We started with bruschetta and ciabatta bread - bruschetta needed maybe salt and pepper, but otherwise good. The dip for ciabatta bread was nice. For mains we got veg pizza and antipasta salad. My parents had already tried two of the other salads and this was the last veg one they could try. When we got it I was so confused because the ingredients weren't what I remembered but I was hungry so I started eating. Later I had asked the waiter are we sure this is the antipasta because it's missing the walnuts. He said yes but brought out some walnuts for us to add - salad definitely needed some crunch and sweetness (which would have been the craisins). Pizza was nice - loved all the veggies... would have liked a sturdier undercarriage (iykyk) ... ended the meal with the lemoncello cake which was drizzled with raspberry sauce. Loved that combo!
