I have now been here twice while travelling on business and it was as good the second time. On my first visit I had the Contadino salad and the Tartufo Tartufo di Gianni pizza. Both were fantastic. The prosciutto was excellent and the dressing was wonderful on the salad. The mushroom pizza was my favorite than night. I ate about half of each and had a great lunch for the next day. On my second visit I went with La Pera salad and a pizza special with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and red onions. I think the pear salad was my favorite - perfect blend of pears, cheese, and walnuts. Yum! I would probably ask for it with fewer onions the next time but that's just me. The special pizza was excellent - but heavy. I had lots leftover. I think I have found my new go to place when I'm staying in the area for business. read more

Tried at the suggestion of some relatives who loved it - and found it to be very good. We're giving them a pass on the service since it's quite new and everyone seemed young. In an area where we have some of the best pizza, perhaps anywhere (Nomad, DeLorenzo's, Conte's), this is a nice addition - but certainly doesn't place in the top three. Really liked the beer selection (seasonal Magic Hat? Yes please) and they have a lengthy and reasonable wine list. I tend to prefer to bring my own (especially wine) but it's a nice option in an area with few liquor licenses. We had the pear salad to start. It was HUGE and properly dressed. The gorgonzola cheese was surprisingly mild which was good and bad. Good because we forgot to ask to put it on the side, but half of us (me) like strong cheese. The pizza was very good. Very thin cracker crust and fresh (locally sourced when possible, according to the menu) cheese and toppings. Two twelve inch pies did it for the 2 1/2 of us (SO + 3.5 YO + baby to chomp on crusts). The margherita was nice and the "Z" pie was really good (white pie with organic mushrooms, garlic and truffle oil). We felt the pizza needed salt - which is a first for me (they were oddly out of parmesan cheese, so we actually were using table salt - another first). The raspberry gelato was nice - and the iced coffee was a really nice surprise (perhaps made with espresso?). Decore was very nice. We'll definitely be back. read more

This location is a lot bigger than their location in Kingston. The bench seats are uncomfortably hard though and the other seating has some sort of wood that got stuck in my pants. They also have a full service bar. The bruschetta with honey and goat appetizer is to die for for. The pizza with arugula and prosciutto is hands down my fave but you can not go wrong with anything on the menu here. The seasonal pumpkin pizza is amazing, my only suggestion would be to serve it with the whip cream on the side like they do in Kingston, being that the whip cream immediately melts when hitting the hot pie. read more

So disappointed. One of our "go to" places, but each time it seems to be more downhill. My favorite salad is now barely edible (burrata, figs, prosciutto). I asked for the dressing on the side, however, it was literally drowning in dressing. This time, they were very stingy with the greens. It was almost like a garnish, and it was so salty, I could barely eat it. Not sure where the tomatoes came from. One of the pizzas was burnt and soggy. The other just soggy. Note, we picked up on time. Last, all they did was hand me the food- suggested tip was 15%, 20%, or 25%. For what? Handing me take-out. We love to support local places but they are making this impossible. read more

Went there on Friday night with some friends. We got there around 6:30 do we didn't have to wait as we had several kids in tow. Very nice wine bar with a good selection of reasonably priced wines by the bottle or glass. Wait staff was very friendly and our server had a great sense of humor. The pizzas and salads were excellent. The kids loved the plain margarita pie, and the adults shared several different varieties of pizza. None disappointed. We were particularly partial to the Tartufo di Gianni which has mushrooms, fresh mozzarella, local natural sausage and truffle oil on top, as well as the Caprino di Gianna which features goat cheese, fresh mozzarella, onions and red peppers. I've been to their other place in Kingston which is also fantastic , if a little cramped in a tight space, but this place hits the mark both in atmosphere and execution. read more

Although not a wood-burning oven (it's gas), and not really an Osteria (it's a pizzeria), the pizza was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. They offer pizza, salads, panini wine and desserts. For real Neapolitan pizza, Nomad is still king, but this is not bad. read more

This pizza is insanely good. Like eating in Italy. Every Ingredient -- cheeses, prosciutto, greens, peppers---was so fresh. The balsamic tasted like it was super high grade. The gelato was amazing. Competition in the area should be ashamed. This place knows exactly how good should taste. read more

The food here is wonderful! I eat here as often as I can because they support Cookwell, a program run by the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville where people who have been incarcerated apprentice in local restaurants to learn advanced cooking skills. My only complaint is that they don't take reservations, there is only one hard bench to sit on while you wait, and the wait can be relatively long . There are other local restaurants that do take reservations and are BYOB ... so they have some competition. read more

I love love love this place! I am gluten-free, and they have a pretty decent gluten-free crust that you can get with any of the artisan pizzas on the menu. Their commitment to local & seasonal offerings is never disappointing (especially in the fall - butternut squash amazingness)! Their meatballs are made without bread crumbs & are to die for!! Staff is wonderful, prompt, friendly, and helpful. Atmosphere is bright, clean, & minimal, albeit occasionally loud. As for families, they are very accommodating, although the atmosphere can be a bit boring for young children. In short, eat here. It's totally worth it! read more

This place continues to get better each time. Fresh, local and organic ingredients... friendly service... reasonably priced drinks with great beer on draft. Absolutely the worse service we've experienced. During entire meal we got up 3 times and asked for drinks from bar. Not once did waitress ask us if we needed anything. I had the fettuccine with clams, zero flavor. Others had margarita pizza which was good. Stuffed clams app was awesome. Staff stood around and did zip. I even had to get up and ask for ice. No one brought it. Place was not crowded with plenty of staff so so can blame Covid!!! read more

We have been coming here for several years, and last time in, we noticed a change in the menu. I don't like the new menu as much as the old one. While it still offers our favorite pizzas (which are always good!) the salads have seem to have gone downhill, even in the way they are presented. My "Antipasto Panzanella" sounded like a good idea, but it was just lettuce, croutons and giardinera from a jar. Very disappointing. The new expanded (and laminated...) menu now smacks of a strip-mall pizza joint. I don't know if it's a change in management or what, but we were disappointed. read more

Terrible! Food , staff !!! Cooks not trained , wait staff not trained ! Ordered Cacio pepe! I was served pasta in cheese sauce , maybe Alfredo , no pepper ! Very over cooked ! Best pizza in the area by far. Everything tastes fresh and like someone actually cares about the ingredients. Lot of local stuff used as well. When I saw the menu I was really excited to try this place. I ordered a sandwich on ciabatta bread and it reminded me of something you would get in a cafeteria or at the airport. The bread was just soft with no crunch and covered in flour that sticks to your hands. It was overly salty and there was a ton of toppings and barely any turkey. Maybe the sandwich I picked was the wrong choice but I wont be going back to find out. read more

Beware: if you get take out, do not leave the restaurant until you check your order. Unfortunately this is the second time in a row and our last time at this establishment. The food is good. If you dine in you'll get average to decent service, however, if you place an order to go expect that it will take at least 20 minutes longer than you're told, expect at least 3 people in front of you frustrated that their orders are late and/or wrong and also know that the management does not care that this is going on and does nothing to try to win your business. There are far too many places with better service for anybody to waste their time in an establishment that is so sloppy with orders and customer service. We will not be back. read more

In a town where there are 4 pizza places within 2 miles, Osteria breaks the mold with fresh gourmet pizzas made from locally sourced ingredients. The brick oven is visible from the restaurant, and the whole place has a warm, welcoming, family type of feel. They have a full service bar (also stocked with local breweries, wineries, and distilleries) and a rotating specialty menu with in season items. HIGHLY recommend- this is my favorite meal out in town! read more

Not the greatest experience - I've eaten at the Kingston location and absolutely love it, but the food last night was not on the same par. My cacio de pepe was extremely disappointing. it had absolutely no flavor. the waiter said that the kitchen has been having a problem with this dish (then why serve it?) and offered to exchange it and/or take it off of the bill. I let it go (which I shouldn't have done) and asked him to bring some cheese and pepper (didn't help), and some bread (which we were charged for). The wait staff wasn't the nicest either (our waiter was ok), but I definitely felt an attitude from the person who sat us at our table. Maybe it was an off night? I tried this place a while ago because I happened to be driving past its Pennington location and because a friend had recommended its Kingston location. I ordered the Margherita, partly because I happen to like a simple pizza and also because when trying pizza at a new (to me) place, especially one known for thin crust, I want to be sure that it won't be overloaded with toppings. The pizza was presented on a metal tray that looked like it might have a non-stick surface (but I'm not sure). I attempted to pick up one slice to try it right away, while hot. It was extremely wet and limp, difficult to lift off the tray because it immediately flopped. It also was not hot--warm, but definitely not hot--and the dough seemed to have been steamed, rather than baked. This was a bad experience. However, in light of some other reviews, I wonder whether they are just extremely inconsistent and not usually this bad. I am considering trying the Kingston location some day--the one recommended by a friend about a year ago--and will be sure to post a good review if my experience there is very different from the one at Pennington. read more

This place charges top dollar the least they could do is use ripe local produce. Is there a reason my caprese salad ordered in August when there are an abundance of beautiful tomatoes in NJ was served with a cold storage, unripened tomato????? Hit the Farmers Market guys. Ok, so maybe it's a bit hasty to give out 5 stars right of the bat... They just opened and I've only been here one time. However, it was an awesome evening start to finish. We had a party of 7, had 3 different salads and 6 different pizzas, so a pretty darn good sampling of the menu. Everything was really excellent and very fresh! The beer and wine selection was very nice, as well. Service was great (it was her first night ever working there and still did great!). The decor of the restaurant is very cool and has a great vibe. Overall, a VERY much needed addition to the Pennington restaurant scene!! I'm sure we will be spending some time here and pretty often at that :) !!! read more
