In December I needed a space that could accomadate about 30-40 people for a rehearsal dinner/party for my wedding. OTB communicated well with me via email. The reservation was easy to make, we had the whole front area to enjoy ourselves and play pool. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. We had the tacos, highly recommend. This is a beautiful bar. And it's got most of the things I want in a watering hole: 1. Booze. You can drink all the things here (beer, wine, shots), and they also make a mean cocktail, too. Whether you're into the classics (Old Fashioned, Manhattan, etc.) or something special on their menu (the Snowbird, maybe), they make tasty drinks. 2. Great bartenders. Shout out to Amber, who was super hospitable, an excellent drink-maker, and even friendly in the face of one of our party drunkenly gifting her with some chestnuts (not a euphemism, he had a 20 lb. bag of the things you're supposed to roast on an open fire during the Christmas season). 3. A pool table. When I drink, I like to play pool. 4. Comfortable seating. Booths and tables and couches and bar seats. It's all good. 5. Food. A very cute spot for drinks! I would come back for happy hour. I wasn't a super big fan of the burger and fries cause the patty tasted burnt and the fries were extra crispy. My new favorite bar in the winter because there's so much natural light during the daytime. And there are tasty warm winter beverages in adorable mugs. The little things make a difference during these gloomy winter months. The staff were so accommodating for my party of 25. I made the reservations two weeks in advance and everything worked out perfectly. I am so grateful to OTB. This place is right on the way to the Williamsburg Bridge. Although the second visit was a let down as the bar tender was overwhelmed and we could not order anything. The oysters were clean of shell and shucked to order. The accoutrements were in the top quarter for quality and flavor that I have had in recent memory. The steak frites was a pleasant portion which I appreciate. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The steak tasted basted in butter and had great texture as hangar steaks do. Cheap beer available and always appreciated along with an absolutely tasty painkiller. Full disclosure I sat alone and listened to Bukowskis Factotum and imbibed, although not to his appreciation I'm sure. A great time. read more

We stopped by for drinks while waiting for a table nearby. I had a couple beers while my wife had a mojito. Fair beer selection. I believe all the beers were canned and none were on draft but I could be wrong. It seemed like the had a nice variety of spirits when I walked by the bar on my way to the restroom. I didn't notice the whisky or mezcal selection but it seemed like they had some good options based on the varieties listed in their cocktails. What a great find. A friend had heard this was a location to try their margaritas. So we did! After a walk across the bridge we sat in their outside located tables and ordered two strawberry margaritas and one raspberry. Very tasty and strong too. We proceeded to order some food later. We had chicken nuggets, super crunchy and they come with honey mustard and bbq sauce and French fries. So far the food was flavorful and portions plentiful. I noticed on my way to the bathroom there was a chalkboard noting they sold $1 oysters Sunday through Thursday, and that is my favorite. We ordered one round of 9 oysters , and YUMMM served with a cocktail sauce mixed with horseradish. So yes, we ordered more oysters (12). Absolutely delicious! I came here for a cocktail around 6 pm on New Year's Eve with my boyfriend just for one drink, but I ended up getting two. I was surprised that the cocktails are reasonably priced ($14 for most of them) for NYC. The bartenders were really nice. The one who made my second drink chatted with me about how neither of us like drinks that are too sweet. Turns out the one I picked was indeed a little sweet so he asked me what I thought after I tried it and offered to make a different one. So, I had to kill some time in the area, it was hot and I was starving. I tried a couple of other places nearby and hit up against waits and kitchen closings. I almost didn't go into OTB as the vibe is galactically hipster, and I do not fit any part of that category, but really glad I did. An extremely nice hostess walked me to a comfortable booth and brought me ice water right away. Yes! I then ordered a Pimz Colada, it was very good and came in the most elbow-achingly-perfect pineapple glass! I also ordered french onion soup and am happy to report it had a solid onion to bread to broth ratio, and yes, there was plenty of cheese bubbling on top! Within 20 minutes or so, I was joined by two of my kids and a friend, at which point we ordered: Fried pickles Chicken nuggets French fries Fried wings Everything, in generous portions, arrived quickly and tasted great Struck up a conversation with our waitress, the name is a nod to the fact that this used to be an Off Track Betting site. I remember those places so much when I was a kid, filled with tons of old men hoping to hit the right number/horse etc...When walking past, the sidewalk would be littered with old tickets, thrown to the ground in frustration as the waft of cigar and cigarette smoke blasted out of the doors. Great cocktail spot in Brooklyn. Came to a nearby restaurant for brunch and ended up here for after food drinks. It's called OTB because this place was actually an Off Track Betting place! On saturday, they had a happy hour from either 2 or 3 to 5pm for $8 mimosas. This place has that great rustic, hipster Brooklyn vibe with plenty of seating inside. They have a number of cocktails on their menu, in which I've tried a tequila with lavender and a granny smith apple drink with mezcal. Both were really delicious and flavorful. Soupy oysters and bitter parcha cocktails no thanks. Ordered a tiki drink (i know, i know why would I do that there, never good) which came in a bourbon glass and didn't taste as described at all although I did get a whiff of cinnamon occasionally which was nice. My partner's frozen marg did however come in my tiki cup (it was cute) yet like my cocktail was tart (the passion fruit was not ready for harvest). The oyster tasted like they came straight from a salt mine and the vinaigrettes, well I'd rather not comment on that atrocity. Overall I'm beyond sad as I've been wanting to go here for years but there's always somewhere better calling me and well now I know why my gut told me never to come. Fried Pickled Chips are a MUST TRY. Our party ended up here around 11PM after several hours of heavy drinking. The ambiance is dimly lit with old music videos playing on the TVs. I ended up ordering a burger with fries ($19) and the group got two fried pickled chips ($8) to share. Oh my word are the FRIED PICKLE CHIPS phenomenal. Insanely insanely good. The burger on the other hand is super moist and amazing, but not sure if it is deserving of the $19 price tag. A group of people were already there which may have been his friends, because it was loud and so was he. I'm in love with Cesar salad. I order it almost 2x's per week. But...I'm TIRED of getting food delivered that is poorly packaged!! My salad has arrived, yet again, COMPLETELY OPEN. I don't have to explain how unsanitary that is. Neither the restaurant or the delivery service wants to take accountability for the food arriving open. The delivery service only refunds 30% of the cost in these cases. Unacceptable, especially after waiting an hour for the food to arrive. OTB knows their packaging is faulty. That's why they began sealing their food boxes with stickers. But, it's clearly not working. And I don't know why I should have to suffer for it. There's no way I would eat food that's arrived open. I loved OTB - the service was quick, the margarita was strong, they gave me an extra oyster on the house and the wings were very tasty! The biggest seller for me though was that the next day I was walking by in a completely different outfit and the waiter said, "No wings today?" and laughed. THAT is stellar service.
