Didn't care for the red sauce- was quite bland. However, a friend got fettuccine that I tried that tasted much better. Didn't care for the atmosphere of the restaurant- decor is outdated and the restaurant set up felt cheap with the outdated tables and red coke cups for drinks that u get at Pizza Hut. I did love the candles in the Chianti bottles on each table and the mural painting. This was my first time here. Came for a girls dinner. There was a sweet man playing the piano and singing, which made the atmosphere a bit more fun. There's lots to choose from on the menu. The pasta was good! The flavor of the dishes themselves weren't incredibly special, but one plus is their HUGE portions. You won't be dissatisfied. We finished off our meal with an espresso martini, which was delicious! Very strong coffee flavor, and I loved the touch of a brown sugar rim. The food at Othello's is always good. No matter what you get, it's always going to be really good. Really awesome atmosphere as well. However, the service at Othello's is consistently awful. We attended Othellos tailgate this weekend for the opening SEC game OU vs Tennessee! The game wasn't the best, but the tailgate was wonderful!! There was plenty of food and drinks, service was great! I don't know why I keep giving them a chance. I ordered something to go. They forgot my ravioli. We also ordered a meatball sandwich with a side of spaghetti. We asked for black olives on the meatball sandwich. They put the olives in the spaghetti. Make that make sense. Then it burned down and we didn't think it would come back and then.... we were in the area and noticed it was back open and I'm here to tell you WOW!! It's BACK and it's just as good now (if not BETTER) than it was a long time ago!! I have never left Othello's disappointed. The staff is always attentive and will bend over backwards to make sure everything is just to your liking. Othello's is an awesome Italian restaurant. I really liked it. The owner, Jennifer is so sweet. They had a Malbec that was the wine of the month and she let us sample it. My friend ordered the antipasto salad and it was huge. It had lettuce, a ton of cheese, mushrooms, black olives, etc. So good. They brought it out with a wonderful small loaf of bread. My friend ordered the steak and potato special. Normally it comes with a side salad, but since we had the antipasto salad they brought him a side of noodles abs red sauce. I ordered the salmon special, which had a lovely lemon sauce with dill and cherry tomatoes over a bed of angel hair. It was excellent and the fish was cooked to perfection. Five nights a week they have a piano player but tonight they also had music students from OU singing. As if that wasn't enough, they make their own tiramisu and it was one of the best I'd ever had. read more

I am in search of GOOD chicken piccata in Norman, Oklahoma. I did not find it here. Disappointing to not have pasta served with it. Usually it comes with spaghetti or angel hair pasta. Only one and a half chicken breasts in a very heavy cream sauce. Not sure if they forgot to deliver pasta or changed the recipe, but pasta or veggies served with it would help balance the heavy sauce. I could not taste the chicken at all. Antipasto salad was tasty and large, though. Crab stuffed mushrooms were okay. Very salty, like they want to cover the flavor of the food with lots of sauce, salt and cheese. read more

Service is one of the worst! The only thing they gave me that was right was the pasta! They only had two small packets of Parmesan cheese to give to me. I asked for herb oil and they gave me balsamic. Seriously would not recommend to anyone because this has happened on multiple occasions several times. One star for every hour we were there. Food was AMAZING. Service was HORRIBLE. We had a reservation and they came and told us they were wiping down our table. They seated us 10 minutes later and our table was disgusting. Our overly bubbly waitress, that acted like we were kindergarteners, tried to wipe it down but did not do good. She never brought us straws like we asked and we had to get up and get our own. She never brought us bread until we finally asked her AN HOUR later. She was never on top of filling up our waters and it took her over 30 minutes to bring our drinks out. It's hard to enjoy her enthusiasm when her service is so bad. She could dial it down a little. It took an HOUR from the time we ordered for our food to come out... this was my 3rd time eating here and I had never had this experience. Although I've eaten here before and enjoyed it, Othello's isn't a place I frequent. However, we booked them for a large party/reunion and they were so easy to work with! The staff was very kind, accommodating, and so friendly to our table of over 20. Everything about the experience was lovely and I definitely will bring large groups back here in the future! We decided to go to Othello's for a small college reunion get together. The only thing this place had going for it on a Monday evening was $5 Manhattans and Martinis. We only had one waitress for a party of 16 and it took almost 20 minutes for our drinks to come out (the place was empty other than us). Then we ordered our food and this is when things got good. I ordered a dish with Italian sausage that sounded amazing and a few friends ordered dishes with portobello mushrooms and eggplant. Italian right? 10 minutes later the waitress comes back and tells us they are out of all of those!! What Italian restaurant runs out of ITALIAN sausage?? 30 minutes goes by and our dishes start slowly trickling to the table. By the time I was finished eating, my wife had to ask where her dish was and told the waitress just to forget about it because everybody at the table was almost finished eating. Not to mention, it was a balsamic dish that others had at the table and it smelled like straight vinegar. The waitress insisted on bringing it and you can tell that it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes; the noodles were already drying up and getting crispy. My wife didn't touch it and asked the waitress to just remove it from our bill. Others had manicotti dishes with half backed noodles that still tasted like dough. Again, the place was completely empty. This was by far the worse meal/service I have ever had in the state of Oklahoma at a restaurant that is run by a bunch of OU college kids. I would rather drive to Edmond and eat at that Othello's rather than eating here again. I can't believe this place is still in business. Oh, the appetizers were great! read more

Extremely unimpressed. It took over an hour and 8 minutes for 2 of us to eat which would be understandable but the restaurant did not appear to be that busy. Our waitress did not refill our drinks the entire time. The food was "OK" but nothing to brag about. The blue haired woman who proclaimed to be the "owner" used profanity several times when talking loudly to a neighboring table. Celebrated my sister's birthday last night at Othello's. The server was great (and super patient with my crazy family lol!) and the food was better than I had remembered. I hadn't been in years and I was pleasantly surprised! The veal parm was good but the eggplant parm was my favorite! I also strongly suggest the St Germain cocktail with prosecco, it was delicious. The antipasto salad was a great start to our meal. The pianist was a nice touch and he sang happy birthday to my sister which was super sweet! I'll definitely be back. read more

I usually love, love Othello's Pizza! The toppings and the crust compliment each other deliciously. But tonight (8/29/21) the crust tasted like cardboard. It as just not eatable. I know it's a busy Sunday evening for them when Edgar Cruce is playing but they are not new in this business. I was looking so much forward to it. I finally ate at the Othello's in Edmond with a friend who raved about it. I was so disappointed and so was she. Our waiter was very personable and cute but he had no retention- he'd offer something and then forget. The bread was bland. I got angel hair pasta with meat sauce and Italian sausage - bland. A ton of pasta with very little sauce and the sausage was dry. The Caesar salad was bland! And I don't think it was Romaine. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I wish I hadn't wasted my money. I took the pasta home and doctored it up and made a good meal out of it the next night, though. read more

It pains me to give Othello's a 2 star review, but it was almost 1. When I was in college and grad school, I ate at Othello's all the time. At least weekly, and often more than once a week. I celebrated every event here, had my first date with my wife here, and had a bunch of other great times on random nights. We got friendly with the staff back then, and they would make us stuff off the menu. I was a "regular" in every sense of the word. Since I moved back to Oklahoma (spring of 2014) I hadn't been back. I had heard different things about the new menu, and I was eating at new places in Norman and OKC. I went for the first time the other night, and the service left a lot to be desired. I went with a friend and his daughter on a Thursday. We had to wait 15 minutes for a seat, which was fine, I was glad Othello's was doing a good business. When we were seated, a server came to take our drink orders. After about 5 minutes, we had our drinks. At that time, we put in our salad and appetizer order. About 10 minutes later, the server returned and we placed our dinner order. Then began the long wait.......... About 10 minutes later, 1 of our salads was brought out. When we inquired about the other salad, we discovered it hadn't even been put in the system. So, the server ran and got us another salad. After we finished our salads we inquired about our appetizer (stuffed mushrooms). Another apology from the server, and he went to put those in. He came back another 10 minutes later and told us they were out of stuffed mushrooms. Thinking our food would be out soon, we opted not to order another appetizer. Our food was not out soon. And, the 3 of us each ordered pasta dishes (a child's portion of fettuccine alfredo, linguine with white clam sauce, and the special of the day, which was a sausage and peppers sauce over pasta). We waited. We finished our carafe of wine. We waited some more. We finished our bread. We received another loaf of bread. And, we waited. We finished that second loaf. When a table that sat down a half hour after we did received their food we had to say something. I spoke with the manager, and our food was out within 2 minutes after that. The server came over and apologized again (at least for the third time, maybe more. we were close to a half dozen apologies for the entire evening). I am guessing that he failed to put our entire order beyond drinks and one salad in the system (he was quick to offer more wine, which of course padded the bill), and when the manager found out what happened they made our dishes immediately. I had the sausage and peppers dish. It was listed as spicy, and it had no heat whatsoever. The sauce lacked seasoning as well. I did like the sausage, and the tortellini was cooked well. I would say this was a 3 star dish, so had the service been at least average I would have given Othello's 3 stars. The best thing about the meal was the bread. They've significantly upgraded in that department since I frequented the place. The bread is hot, toasty, and covered in butter and garlic. Fantastic. The manager of the kitchen came out to apologize, and I asked her if we could get some cheesecake for our trouble. She said absolutely, and that was delivered within 10 minutes. I hear they order their cheesecake from a place in NYC, and it showed. It was fantastic. Creamy, rich, thick, but not overly so. Textbook cheesecake. Absolutely get this. However, we were extremely annoyed to find the cheesecake on the bill. At this point, we had been at the restaurant well over 2 hours. I know this because my parking meter was over 40 minutes expired when I got back to the car, and I put in 90 minutes when I arrived. Given how long we had been there, we were not in a mood to fight about the bill. So, we just paid it. I imagine I will return, maybe try one of the steaks, or go back to the white clam sauce, which was one of my standbys years ago. I am hopeful that this was a one time occurrence and I can update Othello's rating accordingly. But, the evening went really poorly, so it may be some time before I head back. read more
