I LOVE the way everything turned out, and I definitely plan to return to Elisa for some blonde peekaboo highlights. I 100% recommend Elisa for a haircut or hair color! Also helpful tip if you're a new client: this salon is called "Hair Affairs Salon" with an "s," not "Hair Affair." There's another place nearby called Hair Affair that's about 5 min away. Make sure you're going to the right place! Just a tip. I got confused between the two at first. Anyway, I definitely recommend this place! I forgot to take photos there so here's a bathroom selfie of the haircut that Elisa did

Everyone who had an appointment, the Braiders knew their names and what they were getting. I do have to agree with the other review about them speaking in their native language the whole time. Although I didn't mind it at all, the one Braider who was helping my main Braider was yelling in my ear and she was rough while parting my hair and at the beginning of the braid/twist. All in all, I give them 5 stars because I absolutely love my hair, the price i had to pay for the style and the time it took to complete. Even with the pulling of my hair and yelling in my ear, they got the job done in 5 1/2 hours!!! As always, I'll be back!

Visit #1: My first initial appointment was Arnisa being that I found her on Instagram she really impressed me with her work. She did such a wonderful job and she took great care of me. I felt so comfortable and welcomed with her I sent her a few referrals and they loved her as well. Visit #2: My second visit to the salon I booked with soiban and unfortunately I got her student assistants. It was the worst experience ever. The assistants did not have enough experience. They washed and conditioned my hair but they skipped detangling because they said they didn't know what type of hair I had. I came into the shop with an Afro and I made sure that my hair was combed through and detangled the night before my appointment. When it was time for my blow dry my hair was knotted and tangled for days. There were two assistants at once combing through my hair. I could feel my hair ripping out and could see clumps of hair everywhere. I ended up with a headache and had to tell them I only need one person combing through the tangles. At that moment I wanted to leave the salon and cry. My scalp was sore and my head was throbbing. I continued the service because I really wanted my hair cut for my birthday and I also did not want to leave the salon in anger or making a scene. When they finally took me over to Soiban's chair I was so uncomfortable. I had an audience of student assistants watching her cut my hair. I was not expecting this at all. Soiban was explaining what she was doing to my hair to the students while they talked about video games. She wasn't trying to get to know me as a client or talk to me. For the amount of money I paid I did not experience quality service. I really expected to enjoy my visit at the salon that I recommend to my family and friends to but unfortunately that did not happen.

I appreciate the consultation supervised beforehand to ensure that she's doing what I requested. I scheduled my daughter's appt for 10:00am. There was only one lady there and a total of 2 clients. She had to call for more braiders to come in. After getting there right at 10:00 they didn't touch my daughter's hair until 12:00. We ended up being there from 10am- 6pm. The work was great but I would reconsider if it takes this long to get her hair done. I wouldn't have rushed to get there on time had I known they wouldn't start till 2 hours later. She did have long hair but the frequent start and stops to head to the store, scrolling through their cell phones made the whole process take much longer than it needed to.

If you are blonde and want to stay blonde don't go to this place for your high lights! My daughter recently had her hair highlighted and cut for a special event--Prom, her service was done by Xuan and 1st she left 1.5 inch roots 2nd did a terrible highlight throughout , very blocky and not well blended , so she had to go back to get it smudged/ fixed Now to the next bad experience and 3rd issue: the smudging with Alandra Elizondo left her roots a brassy orange color that she was not happy with. She left with a bottle of purple shampoo that she had to pay extra for. Why would we need to purchase product if the hair is done correctly in the first place we shouldn't need this! 4 the owner refused to refund any money and or nor did anything to make it right! She was charged over $300 for terrible results. BTW the website pricing states highlights start at $145. She was charged $50 for a teeny tiny trim that took less than 5 minutes and was trimmed with dry hair and was also charged extra for toner... somehow her services ended up over $300. If your staff makes a mistake you should do what it takes to fix it even if that means doing it yourself! I understand that hair prices are what they are but the customer walking out spending over $400 and hating the results is not righ! This experience has brought my daughter to tears! It's not just about the money!! NEVER GO HERE FOR CUT OR COLOR! We certainly will never return! We see the owner/ manager replies to 5 star ratings, I wonder if I will get a reply to this??

I felt horrible having to complain about service I had received but Steph assured me that she would fix it and I would leave happy. And boy did she deliver!!! I've never been so happy with my hair!!! The color is beautiful and PERMANENT this time (not just toner) and I'm BLOWN away by the cut and layers she gave me. Steph is MAGIC!
