I was told "we are always busy," so I made an appointment for a few hours later to avoid a long wait. When I arrived, there was no one in the waiting room. Check-in was frustrating and exhausting. The receptionist asked if the address they had for me was correct. I told her it wasn't and gave my correct address while handing over my ID. She printed the paperwork and asked me to confirm it, and it still had the wrong address. It felt like she was just going through the motions and not actually listening. The card reader also wasn't working, and I had to get up and sit back down three different times while they tried to run my payment. I came in because I could barely breathe. I was wheezing and short of breath, and repeatedly getting up was draining. The medical care felt dismissive. I told the staff I had already done breathing treatments and they weren't working. Their response was basically to do another breathing treatment and get an X-ray. I asked if that was it, and the doctor told me they weren't going to prescribe me any medication. I have severe asthma and was expecting at least steroids to help. The X-ray experience was the worst part. The technician was physically rough with me, pushing and twisting me, jamming my face into the chin holder and forcing my shoulders around instead of simply giving verbal instructions. I can follow directions. I've never been treated like that during an X-ray in my life. After the breathing treatment, I picked up the wrapper to see what medication they were giving me. The nurse snatched it out of my hand and slammed the door. Then suddenly everyone got very kind when they thought my lung had collapsed and told me to go to the ER. The contrast in how I was treated was hard to ignore. I would never recommend this urgent care to anyone.
