Ended up in Costa Mesa (from Brea) to get my tires replaced from my trusty Grand Prix, so hubbers and I decided to stop by the new (at least to me) Our Bar. Hi, I'm Jen. I worked at Skosh for several years. Probably (more than likely) pretty drunk. Anyhow, now that I work and reside in Brea, and have also become a mother, I never make it down to CM. It was necessary to take advantage of this opportunity to check out my old "home", and what had become of it. Walking in, I was floored. What a beautiful change. The bar is long and welcoming. The back room has become a game room of sorts. The restrooms have expanded and are very well kept. Rather than compare old and new, I'll focus on the experience. Social distancing was adequately adhered to, and the bartender was wearing a mask. I forgot her name. Beautiful blonde with awesome artwork on her arms. Anyhow, she was quick to greet us and promptly provided our drinks. Pretty simple drinks (jamo and ginger) so no need to focus on execution. We were hungry, so we took a glance over the menu. Everything sounded great, which made decision making difficult. That is when she told us it was taco Tuesday. SOLD! We ordered chicken, steak, and carnitas tacos. We ordered 5 total, and devoured them like we hadn't eaten in days. So good! Hubby was going to order more, but decided to save his waistline. All in all, the service was excellent. Food was fantastic. Place is lovely. Atmosphere was exceptional. Price was reasonable. I'll definitely be sure and visit again when I can. Probably on a Tuesday. read more

Less than 10 customers in the place and zero urgency.15 minutes in and no contact, finally had to walk up to order food and drinks. 30 minutes later we checked on the food and it was never rung in. First time here and Celina was amazing! Happy hour drinks and food were fantastic. Had the best chicken parm sub. She always made sure I had a fresh beer and I had a blast. It's this location. I love having a neighborhood bar again, but I see a lot of the same things as when it was Skosh. Glad it is open and giving us a place to go, but not trilled with the "type" of server they are hiring. Would prefer better service by nicer people. More to being in the service industry then your T-shirt. I hope he does not let this type of bartenders ruin the place like Skosh did. Don't take this wrong, we are glad we have a bar open close to our house, but we will go slow and let it become what it will. Hope for the best. Seems all of the bad reviews are saying similar things; hope they are listening. Or, hope they are reading these and trying to improve. So excited to try after remodel and opening of a new neighborhood bar with (what looked like) good food options. First, the good news. They have a long bar with many beer options. And, they have some games (darts, pool, pinball). And, the menu looks appetizing. However, the lighting in there is horrible; it's too bright, too white, uncomfortable. And the music was too loud. Service was horrible. They JUST opened and the warmth and care and introductions by employees were just awful. It's like "this is Our Place, why are YOU here". Did not feel welcomed at all. The food was bad, like bad bowling alley food. Overpriced for the quality and the flavors were off. Like bad off. The shrimp cocktail sauce tasted like ketchup with a squirt of something with a tiny bite. The pretzel balls were good but so few came out. Maybe 10 bite size pieces for $9. Not impressive. The pulled pork sliders were two tiny things that were dry and tasted like microwaved sandwiches. The appetizer meatballs, we all agreed, tasted like canned Chef Boy Ardee from childhood. Not restaurant quality. The buffalo chicken pizza, had what looked and tasted like canned white meat chicken and it was swimming with Franks Buffalo Sauce to mute any flavor the pizza may have had. And, no one cares that we barely ate the food. No one asked if we enjoyed the meal, ever. This was a first pitch swing and an out. Sad about that, really wanted more; even if average would have been good, but they failed. read more

Its a cool enough dive bar with a few tvs, a couple of pool tables, and a couple of pin ball games but dont expect to be served in a timely manner. Ive been there more than a new times during hours when its not busy and I swear the bartenders have their friends there and give them preferential treatment. Youll sit at the bar for 10-15 min with about 8 people total in the place just waiting for a drink, then if they feel generous enough to give you the short amount of attention their brains can muster, theyre kind of rude (like youre bothering them). I actually thoroughly enjoy this place. The people are nice. Customers are nice. The only reason I am giving a 1 is because I've been trying all day to get in touch with the business in regards to an incident that happened Sunday. My debit card was given to another customer. Which the bartenders assured me that the person will be contacted and they will give me a call. They also mentioned that the manager is aware of the situation. I'm from out of town and they opened later so I couldn't stop by. However, I woke up with a $500 purchase on my debit card. I called and the phone is busy. I DMd and they haven't responded. I would just like to speak to someone around how this can be prevented in the future as well as other details so I can possibly file a police report. read more

Went with my son and my friend, Tuesday taco night. I have already been there 3 times before, 1time alone. The place is clean, the staff is wonderful, tacos were yummy, drinks were delicious! My friend and I are trying to decide when we can go back. I am a "senior citizen" and I am not intimidated by a younger crowd, I don't notice because I am enjoying so much! I wrote a poor review of this bar last year because I had sub par experience, the owner replied to my review by suggesting I eat at Del Taco instead. However, a good friend had a bday get together here and I went open minded, because I felt certain they improved over time. Service was slow because they were busy, but the two ladies serving us were also pretty rude; at one point telling us to get it together because we were making her run around a lot. Jee, sorry the 7 of us were not on your schedule. By 10:30, we were over the steriod crowd and moved the party to Country Club. I def won't be back which will save the nasty owner from responding. just in case "James", try being professional and thanking paying customers for their input. I've been coming here every summer of my adult life, and every summer there James is oiling and lotioning, lotioning and oiling. I can't take it anymore! I pushed him in the freeZer so he wouldn't look so moisturized but he shoved a beef dell burrito in my mouth and 360 kicked my chins. I live right across the street so I like to frequent this place. However, it is known that this bar tends to have a higher concentration of white people. My friend and I (both asian) have come here twice, and both times we have been harassed by 30-40 year old men. We are both college students and look the part as well. Both times we had these men make racist remarks "look at her asian titties" "are you speaking Japanese?" *we were speaking english, and fluently. We were born here* "Look at that asian ass" Both occasions my friend and I both clearly and verbatim said "No. go away. You are making us feel uncomfortable" Last night a man bothered us 3 times. We told him no, go away all 3 times. We were clearly uncomfortable, and the whole bar was staring at us. Neither the bartender nor the security guard helped us out as they watched. The man shouted Japanese words at us, kept insisting that we're Japanese (we are not Japanese and told him that we're not) and bothered us. I really enjoy this bar and the drinks. Everything is super cute and nice. And I understand as a minority that these things happen. However I would like to ask that the security guard or the bartender offer help when these things happen. read more

Great spot if you're around East Side Costa Mesa. The service is great especially from James, he's the man. Solid cliental of all ages, truly embodies the neighbor.
