Upon 2nd order, she was vacant, no one behind the bar, and had to flag down the single server. Again, long wait on drink, no bacon strip as advertised. As a parent, I have a new found appreciation for Our Bar. Since they swerve food, families are welcome, and early on a weekend afternoon this is a great place to grab a bite and an adult beverage, responsibly! PRIDE 2019 and it was a scorcher. We'd just finished up the parade and needed a cold drink and some AC in the worst way possible. Three families, 5 kids and 5 adults, made this seem like a tough task, when Our Bar came to me! Home run! We got in just ahead of the crowd, ordered food and drinks at the bar and we were off. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. She made sure to address everyone waiting with eye contact and made short work of all requests. Food came from the kitchen quickly too, and the team back there seemed to really be in sync. We tried the grilled fish tacos (4/5) and some avocado fries (3/5). The tacos were solid but the fish a little under seasoned. Dash of lime and hot sauce punched it right up, and you get a pretty decent portion of fish in each taco! People have raves about the avocado fries so I had to try them. The avocado itself varied from bite to bite, some sweet and creamy while others were bitter and mealy. The breading was in good balance but it was also bland. The sauce they came with was tasty, but on the sweet side for me. Add hot sauce! All in all though, this was a much better experience than the last one and I'm stoked to update the review and add Our Bar back into the rotation. Family Friendly at most times. read more

I love our bar! We frequent it often! unfortunately while I was there on Wednesday evening I saw a waitress, Brie, make a mistake on someone's order and then blamed the customer. Not only blamed him but also she screamed and yelled and it was horrible. he had ordered two beers and a shot of Tequilla. Brie got confused and charged him for three beers but not the shot of Tequilla. my husband and I heard the entire conversation, and his order. everyone makes mistakes but that waitress took no responsibility and turned on the customer like I have never seen. It scared me to death and will make me rethink hanging at one of my most favorite bars. read more

Riverside is my favorite theater and given that I had time before the movie started, I stopped by Our Bar. Ordered: Jack Daniel wings 6 for $9.50 as well as a burger but I can't comment on that since I only had the wings. As always, delicious! I did have a bite of the fries and they're definitely on my list of some of the best, crispy and fresh. Service is good. The waiter and waitress made sure that we were taken care of. Just across from the outdoor arts festival this was a great pick for lunch on a hot Saturday afternoon. Buffalo chicken sliders and fries was a perfect choice. The beer and shot burger combo made the choice even better. Fries are cut on site and fried just right. Lamb gyro plus onion rings was served on a large fresh made pita with lots of meat and sauce. Seriously couldn't ask for a better gyro. The staff was working extra hard and keeping up with the crowd. We never had to wait for service and that's a compliment to their efforts. Our bar is one of my favorite bars to go to in Reno. It's a small bar on the corner that always feels good when you walk in. Staff is friendly and personable the music is always on and a great place to start or end a night. Last night I stepped in after a while and was greeted by the bartender where I chose to sit she came over and quickly took our drink order and later took our food order . The food came out quick and HOT which is always a plus! I will say from previous experience the food lacked flavor a bit as you typically get hit with flavor and spice unfortunately this time around it was lacking a bit in both. Don't get me wrong the food was still good just not what I've come to expect from Our Bar it was a Tuesday night which could've played a roll. I will more than likely go back just with hopes it is back to the standard of taste I've come to expect from our bar. Again, I am cheap with my 5 stars...we called ahead, very accommodating and super polite young man told us to come on in. He welcomed us as we walked in - incredible service over all. We tried a variety..The basic burger, wings, garlic fries and the bacon wrapped hotdog.. zero complaints on the food. The burger had a good flavor, not a cheap frozen patty. The jalapeño tequila lime wings..not overbearing at all. The hotdog was off the hook, best dog I have had in Reno to date. The only dimple was the ranch seemed to be a bit thin..almost watered down..I want my ranch to stick.. I guess I should have left well enough alone, but after a great experience the night before and few interesting options near my hotel, I returned to Our Bar. My, what a difference. Perhaps it was because it was a Friday night, but gosh did it suck. The avocado fries that were so great the night before we burned and tasteless. My beer, which was clearly from a keg that was near-blown, was tasteless, and the bartender (a different one) was more interested in downing shots with her friends than dealing with the nuisance of a customer. Beer prices also seemed to magically rise on Friday. Go figure. You might want to pick your nights. read more

My friends and I came here on a Monday night and it was pretty slow. The bartender also told us that most of the people would go there on the weekends. We were hungry so we checked out the menu. I've been eating burgers for several days in a row and decided to change it up. My friends ordered a burger and I decided to order the beef ramen special. I felt weird for ordering ramen bowl at a bar but why not? My ramen came out and I asked for chopsticks. The server said they did not have chopsticks. I was hungry so eating it with a fork and spoon was the way to get it done! The broth was tasty and the beef and eggs in the ramen made it good. It wasn't the best tasting bowl of ramen but it was the best tasting that I have had in the area. It may sound silly but I think that the ramen would have tasted better with chopsticks. I went in to grab some food to go for a group of us listening to a concert in the park. Was deceptively charged an automatic gratuity of 18% without my approval. I was not shown the tab before I was charged this fee. I did not receive much of any service during my visit. We were ignored at the kitchen counter (apparently you have to order from the bar). I asked for ice water (was not offered any). My glass was not refilled when it was empty (for fifteen minutes). The food was pretty good. We enjoyed our meal. The stale smell of beer on the concrete floor makes it an authentic downtown cozy dive. The place is small, busy, and social. Parking is downtown meters, alley metered parking, or better off if you can walk or Lime bike or scooter especially after dark. Service was just ok, no complaints but nothing stands out. We had wings, the sauce was good. The rest of the menu is comfort food, bar food, and a large selection of beers. Our bar is a great option for both lunch or a late night snack. Typically when I think of bars, food is not on my mind. However when I think of our bar, avocado fries are the first thing on my mind! If you haven't had them you are seriously missing out. They are breaded and deep fried avocado slices that come with a bomb dipping sauce. They are to die for and honestly the whole bar can have a 5 star rating just for those avocados! The bar is a bit small and does not offer a lot of seating. It's okay though because most people who go on the weekends are young and go to socialize and meet new people. If you're looking for a more relaxed bar where you can sit at and talk then I would not recommend our bar on the weekends. It's nice that they're open earlier in the day, once again you can get lunch which is a nice feature. Last time I went I also got chips and salsa and the mango salsa was really good, highly recommend! The only downside was I googled the menu and thought it was pretty cheap. When I got to the bar, the items were about $5 more expensive than listed online. Some items had also been taken off the menu. So that needs to be updated. Overall, thumbs up! read more

So, funny story. I went to Our Bar 2 Sundays ago to get a couple beers and some wings before seeing a movie down the block as I do on the weekends. I am always leery of ordering wings in Reno from a new place, given that there are SO many options in town to get consistently good chicken but I've heard good things about this spot so why not? The bar was packed but I managed to find a place to sit down and watched the XFL game while I waited for service. When the bartender got around to me she suggested the draft special. $3 beer that isn't Bud light or PBR? Hell yes! So I ask for a menu and look at the wing options. We got some different flavors here, good good; and one of those options is a hab sauce and I like my wings dangerous if possible so that is also good. I wait a few min for the tender to get back to me and ask her about the wings. Are they fried or baked? She tells me they are fried. Ok, this is almost a done deal. Then I am asking her if she's tried the spiciest ones on the menu and she says to me something like "You know what I would suggest, I probably wouldn't order food from here today." Ok.. So she leaves to take care of her packed house and I see another bartender who has a hat on and it looks kind of like she's been crying. I get through snippets of conversation with a couple regulars that the cook, who is apparently having a bad day, is taking it out on the rest of the staff. The bartender eventually comes back and asks if I want to order now and I tell her I'll pass since I don't want to subject her to more abuse. She says it's fine but just that if I order food, I might not get it for a very long time. I decline. Then I am finishing my second beer and the tender walks up to the guy sitting next to me, who is a regular and says "You know what he just told me? That 'I better not mess up any more tickets because I have a sharp knife here'" Like wow. I asked her if she was ok and I got the impression that maybe this guy "jokes around" like this a lot but given the fact that I see one employee crying because of him and another advising people not order any food because of his attitude that maybe they are just used to a psychopath working in the kitchen. So I guess don't order any food from here when it's busy or you might get one of those nice young ladies cut. I would have given Our Bar one star but hey, cheap beer! read more

Checking another place off our list, we stopped here a little before noon on a Sunday. We have been here before for drinks but never had any food. We had a seat at the bar, it was not very busy when we arrived but filled up quickly as we sat there. The AFC title game was just getting started. We checked out the menu and my wife decided to get the chili nachos, she loves nachos. Our server Cory explained that they had a special for each of the four NFL teams competing in the title games today. The chili nachos were intended to represent the Vikings. I decided to try the beer cheese steak sandwich from the lunch menu. Our food was delivered in a timely fashion and looked really good. The cheese steak was pretty tasty but very messy. The beer cheese was kind of runny but tasted really good. My wife said the nachos were just okay, she would have preferred additional toppings in addition to just chili and shredded cheese. Cory, the bartender was very friendly and took really good care of us. It seemed there were a lot of regulars that came in because they knew Cory by name and he knew them. It was a pretty good experience and will be back to try something else. read more

I really enjoy Our Bar. Whenever I have friends visiting it's always a good suggestion. The staff is pretty on point wether they're super slammed or steady. A second bathroom would be helpful on busy nights though because there's been times when it gets pretty crowded and a wee bit messy. One of my favorite things about this place is that it is dog friendly during the day for the well behaved pups and were lucky enough to have a beautiful river front and Wingfield park right across the street so you can take your fur baby out for a walk before or after having a good meal and a brew. Kids welcome too until it gets dark, then the bouncers come out to ID any patrons going through the door. Our Bar definitely has some of the best bar food I've been able to find, not just in the area but around the world. The infamous avocado fries are definitely a must try if you're an advocate for avocado. Personally though, I come for the ramen bowl Monday's and deep fried ice cream. B is a attentive bartender that's always playing the jams and always sweet to everyone. Never had a complaint about this place, other than the bathrooms but that's not their fault. Absolutely love this bar. Located a block from the river, it's a wonderful place to stop and have a cold beer or a delicious cocktail. I'm partial to the Ruby Squirt, a grapefruit beer with a shot of ice cold grapefruit vodka mixed in. The food here is extremely good. I highly recommend the Caprese salad which is the best I've tasted so far: fresh basil, thick slices of tomato, mozzarella cheese, crisp bacon, avocado, and a delightful balsamic reduction. Absolutely delicious! Other menu items are top notch too - tacos, wings, sandwiches, and the like. A friendly staff complete the experience! read more

Have come to this establishment for years... unfortunately, today was a dismal experience. Understandably had to wait 10+ minutes for a table as the restaurant was packed by COVID standards. Two kind tables, noticing our stroller with twins, let us know they would be departing shortly. Another 5 minutes ticked, and both tables had to approach the bar to pay. Seemingly, they were understaffed. BAD decision on one of the first warm weekends and considering we are all anxious to be out-and-about as this pandemic hopefully comes to a close. The busser had to be instructed by the overworked bartender to clean the plates from the previous occupants off the table. The slow moving help also neglected to wipe-down the table. Twice we were approached briefly by the bartender/waitress whom was cheerful but clearly stressed. She stated she would be "right with us". 20 minutes passed with no further service. We left. Upon exit, the bartender yelled: "sorry guys." While likely being understaffed is not her fault, there is zero excuse for the lack-luster efforts for appropriate customer service. Do not waste one minute with this establishment... we certainly will NOT ever again. Way too many other competitive options that are happy to take my money and where I am happy to spend. read more

Came in hungry and left fully satisfied! Seating is first come first served so I highly recommend that if you're coming for dining then go a little earlier when it's not as busy. Last time I came in at about 10pm on a Friday night so of course it was packed. I heard great reviews on their avocado fries, so that was an item that I definitely needed to order. It comes with slow roasted pork, grilled ham, grilled spicy chicken, Swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, mustard, & habanero aioli, all of which is served on a panini press roll, it was delicious and full of flavor! Came here with my boyfriend on a sunday evening after a few drinks from a different bar. We just wanted a little something to sober up so we decided on the garlic fries. The fries came with a side of ranch already and just the fries themselves were so GOOD! The next day that's all we could talk about and so we ended up here again 2nd day in a row to come try the other food. My boyfriend got the korean tacos with the chips and salsa and I got the bacon wrapped hot dog with fries. We shared each dish and we agreed on 5/5 on the tacos with the chips and salsa. The hotdog I give it a 4.5 the toppings on it with the special sauce was delicious and it was huge but I prefer a more toasted bun and because I couldn't really taste the bacon if the "bacon-wrapped hotdog". So we needed to find another place for late afternoon lunch so we headed down the road to Our Bar. We had been here in the spring and loved the drinks but didn't partake of the food. We spilt the Puerto Rican, it's a Cuban sandwich and then some. This is the food I remember from the times I spent in the Keys and off the gulf in Miami when we were kids on vacation and then spring breaks in college. I wasn't the typical kid when it came to breaks, I love food. I could go on about how I would explore my own neighborhood where there was a tour of the world in our little suburb in Indiana. First I fail to understand after years of being a good patron and fat tips, that you don't know my name? Secondly, this establishment is going to get some serious #MeToo cancel culture if they continue to let a overtly horny man decide who is going to be let in. Maybe he owns the place and this is way of hitting on chicks??? Final thoughts: if you have a date and you want to be the only one to stare at her endearingly, you may want to steer clear of this place. Our Bar gets some points just because the name of the establishment rhymes and it uses words that make it difficult to meet here. "Where do you want to go? What? We don't own a bar together. Oh Hour Bar? Where's Hour Bar? R Bar? Arrr Bar, that new pirate joint?" I'd describe this place as a dive because there aren't too many bells/whistles, locals frequent this place, and you can get some straight comfort bar food (fries/tacos/burgers). I had the Avocado Fries and the Korean Tacos--a combination that won't disappoint. I don't think I've ever had avocado fries so ups to them for serving them. Share the avocado fries with someone else because it's a pretty big order. I very much like how they have a beer/shot/burger deal for $12 but I didn't take advantage of it--maybe next time. I've always heard good things about the food at Our Bar but the bar itself never really seemed like my scene. We ended up coming in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and it was fairly empty when we first arrived, although many customers came in to watch football while we were there. The bartender was super attentive and friendly and the bar is easily socially distanced. We got buffalo shrimp to share which was super delicious and unique but a smaller portion than anticipated. And I got Korean tacos, which were super flavorful. I ordered them on corn tortillas though because I hate flour tortilla tacos. I also wish they had a different side option than chips and corn salsa. But it was still good. Overall I'd definitely return for a quick drink or bite to eat. They have a good selection of canned beverages, including my favorite, High Noon, and they have a good selection of different food items. read more
