Wow, I am amazed at how Good the food was at this place we have lived here since 2004 and had only been there twice a few years ago. Now we make it a weekly occurrence as it is so good and we've never had anything that we didn't like.. they have Delicious fish and Chips. The Lemon Chicken was wonderful. We were visiting Veneta and two separate people asked us if we tried this spot. So obviously we had to! SO GLAD we did. Literally some of the most amazing fish and chips, the blu cheese burger was so fresh! My kids even ate everything they had too! I have been to Our Daily Bread restaurant/bakery several times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and service is great. They offer wonderful dinner menu with a very nice wine selection and sometimes have a Sunday brunch that offers something for everybody. it is well worth the drive to Veneta. read more

Great little restaurant in Veneta. The food is great and the service is pretty good. There are times when the place gets packed and it gets a little hectic inside (lunch mainly). They have daily specials that are always good and their coffees are amazing as long as they are made by Abby. I give this place 4 stars because they seem they can be a little more organized during the madness when it happens. However, the food always comes out hot and tastes amazing and the waitresses are sweet and fun to be around. I suggest giving this place a try. read more

Interesting restaurant that used to be a church. The decor is is very fitting. The service is great, so is the food. The coffee is okay, but I've had better out of a Keurig. It does feel weird that they serve alcohol in what used to be a church. Worth the stop! read more

I have tried this restaurant several times over the past 10 years. It can be hit or miss. Some meals are wonderful, others mediocre, yet others need extra attention to make edible. Last week my sweetie went and had breakfast, chicken fried steak. Some of the potatoes were undercooked, others were fine. The chicken fried steak seemed watery when cut in to, this caused the breading to be like soggy dough. He thought the gravy was very good. read more

Unfortunately Reed and I had extremely poor service on a non busy day. The tofu burger that we ordered was all mashed up and then cooked, so it all fell off of the bun before even going into my mouth :/ I ending up eating the burger with a fork. :P With all of that said, I would give it one more chance, maybe just an off day there? This is really good food. No joke. I can't understand any negative reviews this place would receive. The sunday brunch is quite nice, I'm going tomorrow with the lady. We both love it. The service can be a bit slow at times but they are really nice people. Get the ODB Philly for lunch, or eat anything on the breakfast menu. You will like it and if you live in the area, there really isn't a better option. So good, so worth the occasional long wait for refills, and they have booze! Go Vanetta! read more

I guess they only want walk-in customers. This is the second time I've tried to call them. The first time numerous calls always ended in a busy signal. Today I called, the phone was answered with a curt, "Hold please." The woman put the phone down instead of placing it on hold. (Hence why it's always busy. Possibly?) For the next 7 minutes I listened to them working, greeting new customers, & laughing. I grew tired of waiting & hung up. The food I'd give a 2.5 - 3 rating. We've been going for the live music & have been having dinner & drinks too. Will have to reconsider since, apparently, they really don't care about my business as a customer. read more

This place has gone down in the last couple months! And I have been reading all the reviews and they all are kind of saying the same thing. For the last three years we have done their Thanksgiving Dinner and this year the turkeys are gross and fatty ugh did my own turkey tonight after picking up theirs 5 hours ago. Have wanted to try this little restaurant located in a charming former church building & stopped by for dinner on the way back from a day on the coast - and we weren't disappointed! We found it moderately busy on a warm summer Friday evening, with both indoor and outdoor garden seating available. Nice, well thought out dinner menu - I ordered one of the daily specials - a lovely fresh lightly sauteed Dover Sole with a very good pilaf and al dente fresh green beans, husband a mixed seafood fettucini - both well presented and very tasty. They do their own baking and the warm multi-grain bread we were offered was impossible to resist...since we'd already thrown diets to the wind we ordered dessert - a generous slice of home made carrot cake loaded with walnuts and heavenly fresh marionberry pie. Very pleasant ambiance, with friendly but unobtrusive service, very good food, moderate prices, a full bar and they even had a talented piano player quietly playing in the background...one of the nicest dinners we've enjoyed in a long time. What a lovely place with awesome hard working owners. My friend and I bought the groupon for this place and he told me it was phenomenal and so I agreed to go. It was amazing. Sweet and comfortable atmosphere and a pianist which made our dining experience fun. All we had were burgers and my friend had the oysters and it was absolutely delicious. Absolutely one of the best breakfasts of all time. Wife had Marion Berry French toast with hazelnuts and a side of ham. I had chicken fried beef steak with eggs, fried potatoes, and toast from French baguette. Melt in your mouth. Coffee was excellent. Service top notch. At a reasonable price. The cost is not worth the experience. In my opinion our daily bread is highly overrated.

The biscuits and gravy combo was delicious and more than I could eat. Generous portions and the best biscuits ever. The service was good considering they were very busy. I'm giving it 4 stars because the potatoes were a little too crunchy (overcooked), otherwise a great breakfast. read more

We went for lunch and there were only three other tables. There were 4 employees in the front, yet our service was pretty bad (i.e. no refills on water and we had to ask for silverware). I specifically asked if onions came on a sandwich and the waiter didn't know. I had to suggest that he go back to the kitchen to check. He said no, so I ordered it. We waited over 20 minutes for sandwhiches. My food was filled with both cold and grilled onions. Very disappointing. Won't be back. read more

I had dinner at Our Daily Bread on Sunday night, and was not impressed. I told my waitress that I was ready to order, and she responded by telling me she is busy! So after waiting for quite some time, I had to wave down another waitress and tell her we were ready to order. She was so pleasant, and prompt! I was going to give this place one star, but because of the wonderful service I received from the waitress with the nice accent, I will give it 3. No customer wants to feel like an annoyance to the workers. I will probably not go back there anytime soon. read more

Service was VERY VERY VERY slow. We sat for 23 minutes before we were finally acknowledged, and offered water and coffee by kitchen staff. Our server came after 27 minutes of us waiting and was nice and brought us each a mini muffin for the wait. Our food came out fast and was perfectly cooked. A little high priced for the quality and quantity of food but all in all it was a descent meal. I adore this place. The restaurant itself is adorable and charming, but the food is so great. It all tastes fresh and natural (even the french fries). The prices aren't that bad but considering the quality of the food, I'd say it's a decent price range. The staff is friendly and the place is always kept clean and neat. This is a go-to spot when we're cycling to Veneta. They've got a great breakfast menu, but an even better lunch menu. One of my favorites is the Alpine Borscht. I have no idea what's in it, but it's thick, divine and so satisfying. Their sandwiches are huge and they use their homemade breads of course, however I don't order these as I enjoy their half order fish and chips instead. The fish batter comes out crisp and the fries are perfectly golden. The building itself is quaint; it used to be a church. When the weather permits, I prefer sitting outside in their patio surrounded by their beautiful garden. read more

We ended up in Veneta, Oregon by chance because we were looking for a gas station. We saw the highway sign for Our Daily Bread so we decided to go there for a late breakfast. The restaurant is in an old country church. Great atmosphere to dine in. The waitress was very friendly and kind with all the customers. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Great food, my favorite so far is the chicken curry salad, yum!! However, I'm not a fan of the fish and chips. This fish was good but the batter was too thick and soft. Same goes for the onion rings my husband had ordered. read more
