The dueling piano show at the Silver Lining this past weekend was not as crazy or crowded as it gets in SF or Vegas (my regular spots), but definitely more lively than Vacaville, and on par with San Carlos, South Lake Tahoe, San Diego, and Houston. Yes, I go to a lot of dueling piano shows. The Silver Lining has been on my list for a while, so I'm glad I finally got to experience it. Reserved seating in advance, at the bar which costs a little less than the main area, but is just as fun and engaging if you come for the live music. It's a small spot, so the sound fills the room no matter where you sit. The dueling piano show ends between 10:30-11:00pm. I enjoyed it while it lasted. The song request list included Pink Pony Club, Bennie And The Jets, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Sweet Caroline, Gangster's Paradise, I Love Rock n Roll, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, My Girl, Piano Man, Come and Get Your Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Elton John's Your Song, Taylor Swift's Anti-Hero, and a mash up of Brown Eyed Girl and Summer of 69. (I swear I didn't name the entire song list for the night, lol) The musicians were playful but didn't butcher songs to the point of being distasteful... yes some dueling pianists do this at other venues. And their music added to an already inviting setting featuring dim lighting and cool wall art. The drinks of course added to my experience as well. For cocktails, I had the Hell of a Caucasian, Jackie (which was pretty much a chocolate martini) and the 1982 Mojito. The drinks were made well, both in terms of flavor and alcohol content. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and provided excellent service. It's a coincidence I wore a dress, cuz most ladies were wearing dresses on this night. It's a casual spot, I guess it's just the warm weather. A great spot for a fun night out regardless. Thank you, Silver Lining, for a good time. read more

Came here for NYE celebration and it was so much fun. Everyone had great vibes and people of all ages were there. The pianists had great comradery and excellent musicians. They seem to know every single song requested somehow! It was my first time going to a dueling piano place and how it works is you request songs by sending money via Venmo (or good ole fashioned cash) and you can request any song. The more you pay the higher priority it gets. You can also pay to cut off the song. Would definitely come again for a fun night out! read more

Super cute spot! Love that it's queer owned! They host a variety of shows, like battling pianos, performances, and the one I happed to go to: burlesque! Was great energy and the layout was very close in but still felt like there was plenty of room. The lighting was beautiful and the drinks were gorgeous and made very quickly. Loved how on it the staff were. Great sound system in there too. The menu was cool, lots of fun creations with fun names. Showed up for The Silver Lining's monthly burlesque night. I had never been before and didn't know what to expect, but the staff really made the night special. A HUGE shoutout to the performers for their hard work! It was pretty crowded, as the show was sold out. My friends and I sat at the bar and I ordered the house special mule. It was very strong and not as sweet as expected - it was hard to taste the other ingredients than the alcohol. However, I feel like it was really good value because it was so strong. I only needed one drink! The vibes are great here too - lots of ambient lighting and cool art to look at. They have a cross stitch on one of the bathroom doors that was amusing to myself and everyone waiting for the toilet that asks guests to avoid doing drugs in their bathroom LOL. One thing to know is to be prepared to stand. Unlike other burlesque shows, the performers here stay in just one part of the room and do not interact much with those seated at the bar or standing along the wall. However, the energy of the room really makes up for it. Everyone at the event was supportive and friendly. You can tell the bar really cultivates a sense of community and encourages positive interactions. I'll definitely be back! read more

My husband and I stopped in last night to kill some time before our dinner reservations. This was the second time and the people were just as fantastic and welcoming as the first time. They had a paid ticketed event getting ready to start, so technically we needed a ticket to get in, but I explained the situation, promised to get our drink, enjoy it, and leave, and they let us in. We ordered two margaritas. They were fine. My husband loved his. I'm old and I was shocked by the $31 tab for two okay margaritas, but I'd still be back! We checked out this cute little piano bar while pregaming before dinner and a concert last night! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender on duty, William. We ordered The Die Hard Old Fashioned, Anchor + Tree Carajillo and a few beers. I love a good espresso martini and the Carajillo was better than any I've had. It was made with tequila instead of vodka and it was so smooth and it's even made with the coffee from their business neighbor! I could have had 4 of these - they were that good! We didn't try any of their food, but the menu looked and sounded delicious - especially their hot dog! They have live music and a band was setting up when we were leaving! It seems like a pretty busy spot and I'm glad we stopped in to check them out. I'll definitely be in again for that Carajillo! read more

There is a reason this place has a five star rating! It's just sooooo good! Me and my husband came in for one their dueling piano nights and had the most fun we have had at a bar maybe ever. The vibes were immaculate. Our bartenders were attentive and made awesome drinks throughout the night, the pianists were incredibly funny and kept the crowd engaged the whole night. Every person we met was so kind and friendly it was just an amazing time. We came in during the afternoon a few days ago for a quick drink and met a wonderful man who was bartending and again, realized why this place is absolutely just for us. This was such an amazing night out! We truly cannot say enough good things about this place and the entire experience. The owner was kind, friendly, and incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. We visited on a Saturday evening for the dueling piano show, and it was an absolute blast. The two piano players were fantastic. They were warm, engaging, and deeply interactive with the crowd. They used fun props to encourage dancing, participation, and an all-around great time. From song requests to friendly competition between the two sides of the room, as well as the piano players themselves, the show was fully immersive while still allowing guests to simply sit back and enjoy if they preferred. It was genuinely fun to watch strangers become fast friends for a few hours as everyone shared laughs, sang along to music spanning decades, and danced the night away. This would be a perfect spot for a birthday celebration or even a work party. We will definitely be back to celebrate a birthday or two, and we already have several friends and family members in mind who would love this vibe. A friend and I decided to check out this place and we had an amazing time. Will, Robert and Sierra (I apologize if I spelled that wrong) were so friendly. There was a dueling piano event happening so we went for happy hour. We got there too early for the event so Will played a few tunes. We tried each of their old fashions. All 3 versions, were very good. We stayed until we decided to get dinner and Robert recommended a great spot down the street. Alright, came in late to the open mic show, maybe around 8:20ish? Open mic? No mam more like professionals you need to know about. Singers whose voices sound like flowers in spring, poetry that send you into deep thought, lyrics so deep you might shed a tear, etc. straight vibes. 100% Unbeknownst to me the bartender this evening was the owner, absolute gem. Now for me I always people watch to see how staff treat other patrons... I can say whole heartedly with my entire spirit I haven't been in such a welcoming and caring environment in a long time. It's rare to find a place where you can strike up conversation with literally anyone in the establishment and people respect you, your boundaries, your point of view etc. respectful to the performers as well (not extra loud so you can actually hear what's going on) I will definitely be coming back and cannot recommend enough. Intimate space with lounge and bar area, gender free restrooms. I had a White Russian (their take, can't recall the name) but it was lovely, not overly sweet. I hadn't had one since watching the Big Lebowski, you won't regret it.. Is it the best piano bar? Well, yes actually, considering you'd have to go to Vegas for a better one. So for all intents and purposes it is the best one available. The finishings on the place are just ok and the space is a bit small but like any good piano bar it nails the atmosphere and the fun. The drinks are surprisingly good, and a fair bit of craft and effort goes into them. They are comparable to drinks you'd pay a few dollars more for elsewhere in town. So it's a very unique, fun night out - highly recommended. Very cool Bar! Stumbled in after dinner nearby at 6 and stayed an hour before their live performance. These are paid events that cost about $10 that you can pay at the event or purchase a ticket before. The lighting was nice and dim, not harsh on the eyes and the drinks were good as well. We were one of the first people walking in and had gotten helped right away at the bar. I had a beer and my girl had an Espresso Martini. Amazing hidden gem!!! I stumbled upon this places that turned out to be one of the best life experiences I've ever had!! At the time, I was looking for a venue to host my daughter's graduation party from Sac State. I walked into this beautiful venue and started taking with the bartender about the place. It turned out we was the owner, he shared how he started the bar and his vision of his goal. I was immediately inspired and booked the place. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. He set up all entertainment for me. The dual piano performance was AMAZING!! Every one had the time of their lives. The bartenders were fantastic, the drinks were amazing, and smiles were endless.
