    Front Entrance - October 2024
    Gail R.

I visited here within a week of them opening. I probably should have waited until the newness wore off. It is what it is. I do plan to go back in a month or so. Here is my experience. On my arrival one weekend, I noticed there were some patrons in line. As I got up to the register, I realized I had to scan a QR code to view the menu. No biggie. Since I had no idea what to order, I had to move aside to see what to choose from. In order to see what the items were you have to click on each of them as their descriptions are not on the main page of their menu. Hope you packed your patience as you will need it. I decided to settle on something I knew which was a Chicken Salad Sandwich. Once I clicked on that selection, it was time to pick the bread type. It showed 11 choices, and I was required to select 1. My options included Sliced Sourdough Bread, Sliced Multi Grain Bread, Sliced Marble Rye Bread, Kaiser Roll, Cocoa Bread (extra $), Bagel, Gluten Free White Bread (extra $), Spinach Wrap, Plain Wrap, 6 inch Hero Sub (extra $), and 12 inch Hero Sub (extra $). I settled on the Slice Sourdough Bread. There are toppings you can add to your sandwich, but be warned, there are so many options - I counted 27. I settled on just one or two and called it a day. As I looked back (days later), I realized some of those toppings may not necessarily go with your sandwich of choice, but were just part of an overall list of toppings they offer in general. You can get your sandwich toasted, which I did, but if you decide to order other items and have to wait for them, see if they can make your toasted sandwich last. I think my toasted sandwich got cold on the counter as I waited for an addition to my order. Lesson learned. I noticed other things as I waited, but since they are newly opened, I am not going to mention it here. Let's see if things change down the road. I hope they do. Oh, I forgot to mention that I did enjoy the Chicken Salad Sandwich, however the Jamaican Beef Patty...not so much.

    The Last Don

My first time ordering since I was craving a fat, scooby doo type of deli sandwich. They delivered just that. I got the last Don with everything it comes with. Plus I added my own toppings. They have endless options. I got a 6 inch and it was so so good. So thick and filling as you can see. I would definitely order again and try their other subs.

The best Tuna sandwich in town. I wish I was here earlier to get more of those homemade cookies too. I'll be definitely be bringing my laptop to work while enjoying some New York taste here.

This is my new favorite authentic New York deli based right here in central Maryland. My go to Sandwich is the boss hog with cherry peppers. This group not only prepares sandwiches with mounds of the best fresh cut meat, but they also provide catering services and I have seen the team in action!

    Chicken salad on kaiser
    Miyuki L.

Trying out this new location and got a chicken salad on a Kaiser. My honest opinion is that I don't know that it was store made and the Kaiser roll was on the drier side. It was just okay for me. I really did not think it was an $11.99 sandwich. It would have been nice to get it as a combo for that price, soda and chips or at a minimum throw in a pickle. The store appears to be a full service deli. I could be wrong. There was a good variety of drinks, bagels and pastries. They are new and still working things out from what I gather. They were friendly and helpful. The store was cute on the outside and no frills on the inside. There is a few seats inside but mainly to go. I think the price points are on the higher side. Especially, when it's only a sandwich coming at that price. However, I will probably try another sandwich later down the line.

Soggy bread after 8 minutes of travel.

Very slow service. It appears like their sandwich station can only accommodate 1 worker at a time. The prices are a bit high even for Kentlands. $40 for 2 specialty sandwiches without chips/drinks makes it one of the more expensive options for lunch in the Kentlands. The sandwiches are large and filling, but it's still not someplace I would go daily. The bread on the specialty sandwiches with coleslaw or other liquidy add-ons should be toasted. My sourdough was very soggy by the time I made it home (8 min). Website is not user friendly. In order to see the menu, you have to go to the "online ordering" section and click on each item to see what is in each sandwich. There isn't a PDF/pic of the entire menu anywhere. I hope that this place makes it as we need a good deli in the area. Hopefully a few small improvements will make this place great!

Delicious Vegetarian Sub (Build your own)

BEST SUBS within 50 miles! If you live anywhere near Gaithersburg, Kentlands, Darnestown, or Germantown YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE! This NY deli in Kentlands makes homemade sub rolls, shreds their lettuce, has freshly sliced meats and cheeses, empanadas, bagels from NY, and friendly service! If you like Jersey Mikes, this is even better NY style subs!

Went back to try one of the lunch sandwiches! So many tempting choices, and landed on the Reuben! This was one of the most beautifully constructed deli sandwiches I've had! Large portion of Corned Beef, with Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut, Mustard, and Reuben Dressing. They had the perfect amount of each ingredient. The corned beef itself was pretty good. They do take time to make the sandwich (again very nicely made), so maybe order ahead if you're in a hurry. Very clean prep area and once again, amazing and super friendly customer service!!

    The Kentland's

First time here, 10/10, will be back. We got the Kentlands sandwich and it was the best deli Reuben we've had in the area. It had plenty of meat and just the right amount of slaw and dressing. The menus are clearly posted on the door and on the wall and counter at register. There are cookies, salads and meats for order, too. The shop is clean and welcoming.

Amazing Ruben Great and friendly crew Definitely will make this my normal delivery to visit

To my luck, we had great Uzbek food less than 15 mins away! It was a while ago but we ordered the samsa, manti, kutabi, plov, and chohohbli, and I can't recall what else but we loved it! Last night my husband and I decided to dine in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with cultural artifacts and art. This may just be a me thing but the serveware was envy worthy. It was gorgeous. I'm obsessed with beautiful dishware. There were only two people taking orders and serving food for an almost full dining room so we were understanding of a bit of a wait time. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us when they could. We ordered the khachipuri, samsa, oxtail, chohobli, steamed rice, pilmeni, and hot tea. Both the khachipuri and samsa were flaky pastries: khachapuri filled with a salty stretchy cheese with a cheese pull that tasted better than it was Instagram-able and samsa filled with a savory meat/onion mixture served with a tomato based sauce. Get one per person because you will not want to share. We ordered fried mini dumplings which are filled with meat and also served with same tomato based sauce that came with the samsa. They were delicious but afterwards I saw that you can get them steamed in a broth, I told myself I have to get that next time. The slow-cooked, tender oxtail was served over the best crispy, fat-fried potatoes I've ever had. The chohobli (chicken stew) was fall off the bone into a delicious tomato-based stew. We ordered the rice to sop up the delicious stew. The tea really helped to cut the richness of all the delicious food. I have not shut up about this place since we had this meal. I will rave about it to just about anyone that will listen in hopes that they will come with me next time so we can order more dishes to share.

The hostess was warm and accommodating, offering to seat me while I waited for my friend. Once she arrived, we were promptly shown to a comfortable booth in the dining room. The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the space with natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. We started with the cheesesteak spring rolls (three per order), which were delicious. They tasted exactly as advertised--gooey cheesesteak filling wrapped in a perfectly crispy spring roll. For our entrees, my friend ordered the short ribs with broccoli instead of risotto, while I chose the Cajun shrimp pasta. The short ribs came with two generous pieces and were incredibly tender. My friend, who always orders short ribs whenever they're on a menu, was thoroughly impressed. The Cajun shrimp pasta was just okay. While it included a generous portion of nicely sized shrimp and the sausage added some much-needed flavor, the dish overall fell short of my expectations. The pasta was cooked slightly past al dente, and I was hoping for more of the bold, spicy kick you'd expect from a Cajun dish, but the flavors never really came through. To top off the evening, our server surprised me with a complimentary birthday dessert, allowing me to choose anything on the menu. That was such a thoughtful touch. We shared the cheesecake, which was served in a half mason jar with whipped cream, a chocolate "Happy Birthday" plaque, and a candle. I requested the blueberry compote on the side since I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it. While it ended up being a bit sweeter than our preference, it complemented the tart cheesecake filling nicely. The only thing that caught me off guard was that the cheesecake was served warmer than expected. On a hot summer evening, I was anticipating a chilled dessert. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The attentive service, comfortable atmosphere, and the fact that we never felt rushed--even after spending about two and a half hours at dinner--made for a memorable birthday celebration. While my entrée didn't quite hit the mark, I'd gladly return to try another dish with a bolder flavor profile.

I reached out and was speaking to the back end and was told that they were sorry for the quality and quantity of food and that they would mail me a gift card. I am attaching a photo of receipt of how much we ordered. We ordered a chocolate cake, the photo online showed a massive slice of cake, ours looked as if someone cut half of it off where the cake is supposed to be pointed. $12 for half a cake. My bfs meal was supposed to come with two sides. He ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were in with the steak and it was a small portion that looked like a small ice cream scoop, ribeye ($49.00). We did not get the Cole slaw. We ordered a house side salad. It was literally a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some of the sides. ($14.00) I ordered the steak frites (34.00) the fries were fine, my steak had these weird pieces (see photo) inside, that were veins or ligaments but def not edible and very chewy and gross. I chewed a few pieces and kept having to over chew and then would spit out the pieces because it was rubbery, after the second piece I noticed the texture and then spit it out, then saw whatever it was that was causing the texture and issue. Seeing that immediately made me lose my appetite. So I was left hungry and turned off by my meal and filled up on calamari and fries. I have ordered this before and it usually comes with a nice amount of slices. Mine came with four pieces of sliced steak. We ordered the calamari and had no complaints. The back end comes to my house and drops off a GC of $25.00! Which to me is an insult. For that they can keep their cheap cop out. I will not be back. We spent $134.00 and tipped $19.00 for a take out order. And all they could give us back for a terrible experience and quality of food was $25.00?! Their salad alone was $14. The cake is $12. So basically come back spend more money and we will cover one simple thing but several of your items were sub par and or gross. I would not recommend. This restaurant took a lot of money and did the bare minimum to fix the issue and threw a minimum amount to appease the customer. But didn't mind taking my hard earned money, which I will now spend elsewhere. I also will be mailing back the card. Whoever came to my condo to drop off the gift card came at midnight. Which to me is weird and an odd time to come to someone's house. I have it on security video.
