You guys are terrible. Always mess up delivery orders. This time I ordered a loaded baked potato as one of the sides to the entree and they gave me a plain potato. Also no utensils and no straws for the drinks. Poor service. Why should I even tip anymore? Ridiculous. read more

A few of the orders were wrong. Just minor things. The worst thing, though, was the chewy steak. Everything else was fine.

My wife and I needed a quick bite during the week. We stopped here and enjoyed a nice meal. The service was good. I ordered the smallest ribeye they had and it was grilled to perfection. This is the third time our family has been to this location since it opened. The first time was not so great, but we tried it once more and it was ok. My grandson choose it to celebrate his 25th birthday and there were eight of us. The server was very nice and attentive. The food was mediocre, at best Two of our steaks were not cooked to order and looked like hockey pucks on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The 'loaded' baked potato is a major disappointment. There were no toppings to mix in except the skimpy ones for show on top. The drinks we ordered were practically virgin. There was not enough alcohol in them to even taste. Overall, it was a big disappointment and the general consensus is that we will not be dining in any Outback Steakhouses again. read more

Had to think about this one. Mixed review and not ever my first choice to dine however was gifted a gift card so away we went. Began with blooming onion perfectly cooked but lacking taste and the wings altho meaty and fresh were mild and way to spicy for most of our group. The special with filet and shrimp fettuccine was inedible. Fettuccine was a giant blob on the plate stuck together with sauce that was more or less congealed shrimp was way too spicy and filet was impossible to chew- someone else got the porterhouse under the glass dome and the reported it was tender on both sides of the steak and the sides were decent. The staff went on to say how the presentation was remarkable however you were in serious need of a fire extinguisher once that dome was lifted. Smoke that made your eyes water and your clothes smell like fire lol. While it might have been somewhat impressive in the beginning what lingered afterwards was atrocious lol. Saving grace our waitress was beyond lovely super friendly and attentive she saved a few stars with her funny wonderful attitude. Unfortunate that alone is not enough for our return visit and back to the archives this place goes! read more

Last night we went to the Brick, NJ location. I was with my wife and our youngest grandson. We were seated right away. We asked for a table because my wife is handicapped. Since it's still early, there were only a few tables occupied. After several minutes of waiting I asked the host, who just seated a couple of customers near us, if there's a server who will attend to us. She spoke with a server, who I assumed was the one who will attend to us. This server kept going back and forth in our area, not even making eye contact with us. Then she took the orders of the couples who were last seated by the host. I told my party that we were leaving because we were being ignored. I told the host why were leaving after almost 25 minutes of waiting and she suggested that she could call for another server. I said never mind because I think my money was not good there. It was a bad experience. I felt humiliated and embarassed. The customers next to our table were looking at us, probably talking about us. We have been living in Brick since 1985 and have retired since 2003. We have been eating in this restaurant many times since its opening. Almost every special day, our extended family of over 12 celebrated the occasion here, the last was just last month. We also patronized Carrabas and Bonefish restaurants, your sister companies. This is your standard every day Outback Steakhouse... except for Kevin. Kevin is the bartender and has some bar tables and if you come here you will have a better meal if you are lucky enough to have Kevin take care if you. Came here for dinner this evening (during COVID, so outdoor seating). Kevin greeted us punctually, had drink and appetizer recommendations. We've been here a bunch so we know the menu well but still appreciated his insight and his knowledge of the menu is impressive. Alcoholic drinks were out in the blink of an eye and the rest of the meal was timed perfectly. Kevin was personable and pleasant the entire evening and we were never left wondering if our server would return. At the end of the meal we needed a box for leftovers. Kevin brought out a styrofoam box and apologized for not being allowed to box the leftovers for us (obviously this is no problem). We noticed on the container Kevin had written today's date and the name of the dish so when we are rooting thru the fridge we'll know what's in it. What a small but amazing gesture and truly shows his commitment to customer service and creating an amazing experience. We will be back and we will request Kevin to take care of us each and every time we return. read more

My friend turned to us in the middle of dinner and asked why we came here. We honestly didn't have an answer. This place has little redeeming qualities outside of the friendly staff. The steaks are the equivalent of what you would find in a Walmart freezer and the food we received looked nothing like the pictures. Recently had a hankering for an easy sit down steak with my family . Experience got off to a bad start when we called and host who answered the phone suggested it was a 15 minute wait so we should leave our cell and they will text us when the table is ready Impressed with this feature we looked forward to hopefully getting there just on time . 35 minutes later we are a long time there waiting for our text or to hear our name . I finally ask the hostess what the hell is taking so long and it turns out they typed in the wrong phone number and simply deleted my reservation. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and rush seating us , they put my name at the bottom of the list and made us wait 20 more minutes The selection of beers is tiny ... steakhouses should be heavy on the options for beer . It's a joke they even have a beer sampler but they do and they served it to my wife and 2 of the small glasses were dirty (not spotty, actually dirty , with black dirt ) The food finally came out and it's not the delicious experience I remember . I asked for medium rare porterhouse , and it came out medium well. Last but not least the atmosphere was a bit gross . Maybe shame on me for assuming outback would be family friendly some place I could bring my 3 year old but we were seated next to a table of 20 something bikers with confederate flag bandanas who were cursing and using loud profanity and sexually explicit language . This isn't a fault of the restaurant but back in my server days I used to be a little strategic when seating guests . I am, BY NO MEANS, a person that gets off by writing bad reviews but this was very frustrating. I understand being in the food industry that people make mistakes by accident but tonight was crazy. I ordered a medium-rare filet mignon and this is what I got.... absolutely no flavor and with everything cut I made into this piece of meat, it just crumbled.... with my steak I also had a side order of coconut shrimp which were soggy, the "Aussie" fries tasted stale like they were left out, the Mac and cheese had absolutely no taste to it, and even the bread was just not anything to grab about.... I used to come here a lot maybe like 10-15 years ago and I'll tell you, the food is no where near as good as it used to be! I used to really enjoy the food here and now this is what it has come to. Outback Steakhouse has always been consistently good which is why we like dining there but this particularly location is consistently awful. The service and quality of food isn't the usual Outback we know. I would say it's a result of not being able to find good consistent help since the pandemic began and the soaring cost of food but the Middletown NJ location isn't having the same problem since we dined there a couple weeks back. Service was awful. Waiter took our order and brought it out to us. After that, never came back to check up on us ,But the table in front of us had the same waiter. They were getting good service and waiter check up on them multiple times but never bother to check up on us. And he also check the table behind us but never came to ask how our food was or ask us if we needed a refill. The manager of the store rectified the problem. Hopefully, this was a one time incident. Terrible please don't waste your money. Went there a few times and it was pretty good. Then, went for a pick up and waited an hour. Mind you we called ahead. The entire order was messed up. Put a complaint in and got blown off. Left a bad review on their Facebook page and after a month or so got an apology with a "let's make it up to you" response. The link was to a invalid Outback corporate link. I looked and they posted the same bogus response on all of their negative reviews. They did it to make it look like they were doing something. Now we remember why we stopped coming here 5 years ago. We still make jokes about the waiter " Andrew" we had then. Anytime we get poor service at an eatery we use that visit as a benchmark. This time it was the kitchen with very slow service, wrong orders for us and all around the bar tables. Still was charged the dollar for the so called premium side even though the regular mash potatoes never came with my prime rib. At least the football playoff game was interesting giving this place one star. Too many good private restaurants in this area to waste time with a corporate establishment with a poor kitchen and constantly training staff that must not stay long with the depressing conditions in this place. Food was good. The place looks like it hasn't been scrubbed down in years. We sat by the bar. Floor looked ancient and dirty. Needed a good sweep. On the way into the kitchen there were fallen utensils and pieces of paper and food on the floor. In the ladies room one soap dispenser was empty, the other had a pileup of soap on the molding under it. The grout on the floor looked like it hadn't had a good cleaning in years. We called ahead for seating and were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server was Scott. He was awesome... personality plus and very good at his job. We had a party of 9 on a busy night and waited for nothing. We ordered apps which came out quickly and were prepared perfectly. I had the large outback steak, medium rare, and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I have to confess to having more than one of their SanGria's which go down like water they are so good. Everyone in the party really enjoyed the meal and service. My daughter left her purse there and didn't realize until a few days later that she may have left it there. Newer look but same old cook staff, the French onion soups was even worse than when I didnt liked it 2 years ago here. The steak was a bit over cooked but the main entree over all tasted good. Definitely a fan of the Outback restaurant in Brick, which is super weird because I have never been a fan of the chain. I've had some pretty bad experiences with other Outback locations, but the one on Hooper Ave. in Brick is FANTASTIC. First - It is very clean inside and you can tell that the manager takes pride in ownership. No bad smells. Spotless silverware. No flies or gnats (which is a real problem in this area of Brick). The restaurant is kept extremely clean. Love that. It's a large restaurant inside and there are always enough tables. Waitstaff are super friendly and welcoming. They are very informative and can totally keep up with specific or special requests. They don't try to oversell anything and are always honest, which I personally really appreciate. Food always comes exactly as ordered and very tasty -well seasoned and more importantly, hot and cooked properly. From the Ribeye arriving in a true medium-rare, to burgers that are juicy and delicious, to well seasoned and properly prepared seafood, the food at this specific Outback is GREAT. Even the salads (house salad or wedge salad) are really fresh and delicious and never feel like an afterthought. All in all, after relocating back to Brick after being up north for some time, I can say, with complete surprise, that Outback on Hooper Ave. is quickly becoming my go-to spot when I want to feel confident that my dinner will be delicious. We've been trying many restaurants in the area and have yet to find one other than Outback that is consistently good, clean and comfortable. Kudos to the owner, managers and staff at this restaurant. Hadn't been to this location in a while but we had a gift card. Got there at 5pm. Got a confirming text that we were on the list. Still sitting in the waiting area at 5:30 when I got up to see if there was a problem as we were told it was a 15 minute wait. Our name was mysteriously wiped out. We were the next ones to be seated, 12 minutes later. One strike. We ordered a strip steak and a rib eye, both medium. They both came out super rare so we sent them back. Strike two. The ribeye came back medium but the strip steak was still too rare. Strike three. So sent the steak back again with great apprehension as we had a visual of evil things being done to my meal.
