Hands down the best service I have ever received! From the front of the house to the servers to the managers, everyone was amazing and did their job exquisitely well with a smile on their face. Their ribs are fall off the bone delicious and perfectly seasoned. They have a dry rub, bbq, and a sriracha bbq to go with the ribs. We were also able to try their steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Each item on their own was a knock out but put them together and it was outstanding. We finished with a creamy chocolate parfait with Oreos. Every spoonful was better than the next. SERVICE: 2/5 I arrived just after they opened. It was my birthday. I asked about birthday specials. Server was polite and professional but not friendly. At least not to me. (I overheard her joking with a larger table.) She never smiled or even wished me a happy birthday. As I was eating alone, some attempt at friendliness would have been appreciated. She did her job, but nothing more. In fact, he obvious lack of interest or care left me in a worse mood than when I had entered the restaurant. I get it. First time at an outback steak house and from my understanding this is not the best location (clive). From where I am sitting with my mom, niece and nephew, I can over hear a conversation between two waitresses complaining and cussing about what I assume is another co worker. I can hear the waitress say a few different cuss words as she walks past a few other times, as well as talking about how unsanitary it is in the back. I can hear yelling in the kitchen and the steak was chewy. I did not see anyone that looked like a manager just adults acting like gossipy high schoolers. This restaurant wasn't our first choice to begin with but I don't think it will even be an option next time. read more

Extremely staticky music was playing which was very annoying and not conducive to relaxation. The restaurant did not seem that clean, and it appeared dated. Not the best. I went with my dad a few months back. I ordered a medium rare steak, and my dad ordered a rare steak. The rare steak they made for my dad was completely raw, and my steak tasted strange, like cow manure. Walked in and greeter was on the phone.Looked in the bar and plenty of open booths open. At least 5 open booths. Another young boy approached us and we asked if we could sit in a booth in the bar. Even though there were only two couples waiting and we were 1 couple he said no. I looked around in the bar and said why not? Then my husband asked if we could sit at the bar and the kid just looked at us. We had to repeat the question and then the kid on the phone hung up and said that's fine. It took 10 minutes to get a bar tender to acknowledge us. And another 7 minutes to get a glass of water after the drinks were served. We had to request bread and the soup we ordered. Orr meals were served and once we received everything they were very good! The steak was done to perfection and the shrimp and strawberry salad were AMAZING! The restrooms were horrific! Trash everywhere on the floor and very dirty restrooms! Much to be desired in the service! I don't think I saw one person smile until we were leaving when the two boys at the host station smiled for a picture until I told them I was a Google/yelp reviewer and they failed the review! An overall enjoyable experience. Despite it being Friday evening and Valentines weekend we were seated promptly and received good service. My son and I sat In For dinner on a Thursday evening around 4:45 when the server arrived at 4:50 and took order. There was 2 tables already eating and around 15minutes later another 3 parties came in. By 5:30 all the other tables had their entrees and we still did not have our meals. I asked the server and she explained it would take another minute. By 5:45 I decided it was to long and decided to leave. We've been here twice, the first time was the yelp elite party so we had high expectations from that but they were definitely met our second time there! We used the giftcards from the event and that went smoothly! I got the Mac and cheese and the pudding dessert and my boyfriend got the steak quesadilla and loaded fries. I consider myself a Mac and cheese snob and I loved theirs! Very good! The fries were very good! And his steak quesadilla we took home and it was good warmed up. I love Outback for their Celiac menu, because their steaks & *most seasonings are gluten-free. This location is hit or miss. Last night, I ordered gluten-free, to which the waiter was pretty knowledgable, he just didn't seem to care about serving is in general. I ordered the 6oz sirloin (mid-rare) with Garlic Shrimp on the Barbie, which came with a baked potato and a side salad ($15.49). The steak was the correct temperature when cut into, but was oddly chewy for medium rare. I'm a steak eater, I love it - but it tasted like it was thawed in hot water then placed on the grill. The shrimp sucked- not enough salt and the herbs tasted weird. The potato was great, they salt the skin which is pretty clever. The salad came with honey mustard dressing that tasted fantastic. My husband ordered the Ribeye ($22.49), which also came with a potato and salad. Our side dish thoughts are the same, but his steak was off. It was pretty rare (which he is okay with most of the time), but the more he cut into it, it was blue. Gave him a stomach upset, but he liked the flavor so he's going to toss it back on the grill and reuse in a salad. Things can be improved, and I hope they are, because they've got a great menu all around. I don't think the price was worth the quality, especially when we can pick up local steaks for $8/lb and make them correctly. Total bill was $53 after tip, so we just spent triple the cost for a stomach upset and a leftover steak salad. Maybe next time, Outback! read more

Place inside and out was newly remodeled. Similar fare to Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn, but they offer lobster and crab cakes. Food we orderded: Blooming onion - 3/5 some parts crispy. The other parts no batter or very soggy. Bang bang shrimp and lobster - 5/5 very impressed with their version. Crispy, flavorful and spicy! Would recommend. 3 course meal for 12.99- 6 oz steak medium well, caesar salad, aussie fries and chocolate sundae. IMO not a bad price for this meal. My steak was very well done along with my guest who ordered medium. Hers was cooked through. Chocolate sundae is one small scoop of ice cream. I would recommend the other desserts. Lobster tail and filet mignon - ordered steak medium and also cooked very well. Cost was 24.99 with two sides. I want to give this place 4 stars, but its a steak restaurant....they need to better on grilling steaks!!!! read more

Let's all go! Good food for the price. Atmosphere is like a toned down Applebees. Food is decent and well priced. Great place for groups as they are well accomodating and you can get plenty of food and booze and your bill will be relatively manageable. Service is by far the best part of the experience. For being a chain we have always had good service with no issue. Last time we ate our server was amazing and attentive to our requests. I ordered the all you can eat shrimp and she kept them coming even when I hadn't finished the last round. Decent all around food for the price. They have a good ceasar salad and the appetizers and deserts meet expectations. I recommend Outback Steakhouse for groups and the budget minded folks who want decent food without spending too much. Pros Food is decent to good. Appetizers are what you can expect and steaks are cooked very close to what's ordered. Price is great. Two people with appetizers meals and booze can expect to stay under $65 if they don't go crazy. Cons If you order your steak classic style expect to have a lot of seasoning on it. I order mine grilled with oak as it has a less salty more smoky flavor. Franchise. The food is what can be expected from a franchise restaurant, not bad but not necessarily very good. I always like their food when I remember to order it my way. No season salt on the meat it's too peppery and burns my mouth. Since I love to eat that big fat wedge of lettuce it takes a while. I forgot to tell them not to have the steak ready until after I'm finished with the salad. It has all those yummy things on it and alot of tomatoes. Other restaurants only put 2 or 3. Regardless of what I order I love the pumpernickel beard. Soft, warm, yummy. Put it on it's side and it doesn't squish as much. They were extremely accommodating. Last night, myself and other Yelp Elites were treated to an amazing meal at Outback Steakhouse. This was my first time at an Elite event and it was an outstanding experience. From the time we walked in the door and Patrick welcomed us to the experiences provided by the staff at Outback, everyone was running on all cylinders. The night started off with a Strawberry Sangria and a Steak Quesadilla both of which were flavorful. After the opening appetizer, we got to try their Salmon and chopped salad - the Salmon was cooked perfect. But then the true magic happens - three different types of RIBS along with steak/mashed potatoes were given to us to try. Talk about mouthwatering goodness - OMG, this is some of the best food I've had in quite sometime from a chain restaurant. Talk about deliciousness - meat falls off the bones, homemade taters, and tender steak, YUMMO! At this point, I felt like I needed stretch-pants, but the piece de resistance, was an a chocolate oreo-type dessert with chocolate filling and whipped topping. Overall, this has been by far my best meal at a chain restaurant for quite sometime and hope that Outback continues to provide outstanding food and service to those who visit Outback in the future. read more

Made the mistake of trying Outback Steakhouse for dinner & never again.... By far the WORST meal ever!! For starters we waited the entire meal for them to make our blooming onion (which we had to reorder and wait for after our entire meal was done). My husband ordered a medium rare steak and it was definitely rare. I ordered a regular cheeseburger and asked for it to be well done and the center was medium-medium rare. Such a disappointing experience. We used to love Outback but it's gone downhill. Right when walking in at 5:30 the floors were filthy, the music was so loud you could barely hear yourself speak. We kindly asked the hostess if she could have the music turned down. She said no management says we have no control over the music volume. We can't change it. Right away we saw they were understaffed. Finally after 10 minutes a waiter came over and he was basically in charge of the whole bar area. He said when he came in no-one had restocked anything. And the tables were stacked with dirty dishes. We gave out drink order and after about 10 minutes my Mom had to go to the bar to get her own drink. The steak was beyond well done on my sisters meal, my mashed potatoes were cold. The waiter was very understanding he did take our steak off the bill. The manger did finally come over he laughed when We said it looks your understaffed, he said yes. People kept coming in but they couldn't handle the crowd and at one point ran out of silverware. Went on Friday evening. I ordered prime rib rare, my wife ordered filet and a lobster tail. The best thing about our experience was the server. My prime rib was far from rare and had been put on the grill and it was absolutely the worst piece of meat I have ever eaten, my wife's filet was cooked ok, just tougher than leather, lobster tail was good. We had a blooming onion that was so greasy the dipping sauce would not stick to it. Will Never Set Foot In The Clive Location Again, the owner should be ashamed to serve food of such poor quality. The salmon is UH-MAY-ZING! The sauce on top....ugh, wish I could remember the name....is divine. The ribs, fries and blooming onion appetizer...the ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. So good! We tried the steak as well. Perfectly done. And the chocolate Oreo parfait dessert, yummy!! The staff was super friendly and attentive. They made it a fun time. So I asked if it was in the menu and I was told "most people in the bar do not order it." So once I got the details I chose to order it. After ordering he brought me my salad but I didn't have any silverware to eat it with. Seen a table in bar area that silverware settings so I move there. When he came back out with bread and seen I wasn't there I let him know I moved because I had no silverware. He gave me a smile like he thought I was funny, just being silly. I attended an event which was hosted at the Outback and was amazed at how welcoming the managers Sherry and Jason were. The staff did an amazing job attending to the 25+ people in attendance. I would definitely recommend them for your company outing/event. The Strawberry Sangria was my favorite drink of the night, I will definitely be ordering in the future! I am normally not a beer drinker but I found the Coopers Original Pale Ale very enjoyable, light and crisp. Normally when I dine at Outback we order the signature bloomin onion, thankfully for this event it forced me to try other options. The steak quesadilla had good flavor but I would have liked more meat. The loaded Aussie Cheese Fries were crisp and packed with flavor! We got to try the Baby Back Ribs. Our table was disappointed in the lack of flavor on the dry rub ribs. The BBQ ribs were delicious, packed with tangy saucy flavor and the meat fell off the bone. The Honey Sriracha packed a punch, very good but I'd suggest taking it easy on the sauce if you don't prefer spicy foods. As usual the steak was tender and packed with flavor. I am so pleased we got to try the Toowoomba Shrimp Topped Salmon! It is probably now one of my favorite entrees. The creamy Toowoomba sauce is full of flavor. The mushrooms are large enough that you can pick them off if they aren't your thing without leaving a mushroom taste. Try to save room for desert!
