I always expect to like the food at Outback because I love steak and steakhouse food. I went here yesterday and was disappointed because it just wasn't that good. The blooming onion was pretty good but more than needed for 2 people. The side salad was very basic and just seemed bland. Steak tacos were nothing special although the steak in them was good. Coconut shrimp is better at Red Lobster. I had a number of sauces to choose from with my meal between the blooming onion sauce, dressings and sauce for steak tacos. They were all so similar and just seemed mayonnaise based. One nice thing-we went on a Monday and got the blooming onion for free just by asking. Might be worth looking up if this is an ongoing special. read more

I am veg so I haven't tried their steaks but I'm there every other week or so for a bloomin onion and a couple beers. Their staff is really good. The place is clean and their bar is a nice place. They have a few tvs and it would be a good place to watch the March madness games. Going back tomorrow! read more

I ordered a Caesar salad, lightly tossed with dressing, but it came with too much so sent it back. The little loaves of bread were dark, probably pumpernickel but not tasting like it. I ended up tossing the second salad with a wee bit of dressing myself. Hubs had ordered Sam Adams beer and it was Fosters they brought to the table. Queer setup, you order with wait staff, and a different person brings bar drinks and still a third person brings food. Leaves large room for errors. I enjoyed my pork tenderloin and pineapple with sweet potato, hubby had great filet, right up there with Texas Roadhouse. Switch up the way you serve what's ordered and we might be back! read more

The only good thing about my lunch was the drink I ordered. The filet mignon was tough and grizzly and I asked for medium rare. The baked potato must have been leftover from at least the night before if not longer. The asparagus was over cooked. The button mushrooms were just ok but left off my order and I had to ask for them a second time. What really shocked me was how dirty the floor was......straw wrappers, coasters, French fries & silverware all over. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. I saw six diners. I like Outback for what it is, a way to get a decent steak for a fair price. Stopped in Friday night for curbside pickup. I was quoted a time of 9:21 after ordering at 9:01. I didn't leave until 9:36. Everything was packed well and the food tasted great, so I wrote off the experience as a "pass", assuming that they simply were busy inside the restaurant. Fast forward to Monday. They run a promotion on Monday's where if their NASCAR driver finishes in the T10 during the previous weekend's race, you get a free Bloomin' Onion. I thought I'd take advantage of this promotion. I ordered the "Bottomless soup and salad" for lunch, which was only $6.99. You still get a loaf of Outback's famous bread. My server completely dropped the ball. I got my onion in short time, but it took at least 20 minutes for the soup and salad to come out. My server also dropped off my check before the soup and salad came. In my opinion, this is an egregious violation of server etiquette. I also heard servers (not sure if mine was involved in the conversation) stating that "they didn't want any more tables". Look--I've worked in the service industry and I didn't always want to be there either. Conversations of this short should be conducted out of sight and sound of any customer. For the first time in a long time, I asked to speak to a manager before leaving (no manager appeared to perform a table touch, despite not being busy). He apologized for the poor service and gave me a voucher for a free dinner. This might be a good opportunity to do a re-gifting. Two poor visits in a span of four days tells me that my money can be spent better elsewhere. ETA: I received a message on Yelp from my server who explained to me that Outback's procedures which results in a very depersonalized experience to guests during the lunchtime hour. Apparently, they drop the check off prematurely for a "speedy lunch". Corporate should emphasize personalized service instead of assuming every party that visits is identical. read more

So. We walk in and there's a few people waiting for the rest of their party to eat. They said it would be 15 minutes. Instead my husband says we can fit into that booth if you'll let us. So she clears the table for us. Another hostess, sees and knows what's going on, and she's on her phone AT WORK. The table gets cleared, she sits down in the booth. Her friends walk in the door and she seats them in our spot. The first hostess comes back, sees the other girl seated her friends there. All while more and more people come in and we didn't actually get on the waiting list. They tell us it'll be more like 40 minutes. Yeah. We walked out. That girl KNEW that seat was for us. And seated her friends there. Great customer service guys. Thanks for ruining my kids' night as they chose outback. read more

This was my first experience of the Outback and if I believed in five stars I would do it, because it was practically perfect. Great service, great food, and a price that was hard to beat. I had a signature burger of sorts, the bloomin burger? Great taste and cooked to my liking. Seemed to be a fun place for kids and adults alike, and you even get complimentary bread upon sitting down. My dream is to make it to Australia some day, but this was pretty close ; ) read more

Unfortunately, I had to visit this place for a family event. What a disgrace! We were quoted a 5 minute wait time; we waited over 25 minutes. The menu is very limited, and all of the menu options were overpriced. A basic (and terrible) chicken fettucine alfredo was $16+; a few grilled shrimp and scallops with rice about the same. I don't mind paying for quality, but sub-Applebee's quality food (and relatively small portions for a chain restaurant) does not command such rates. No wonder Outback is struggling as a chain - you can either serve crap food or charge premium prices, not both. read more

I'm always amazed by how full the parking lot is at Outback, and since we had a gift card from Christmas we decided to give it a shot. Today the weather was cold and snowy, so we were greeted at the door with a sign stating they had staff shortages which may result in slower service tonight. We opted to sit at the bar to and watch the game. Not sure if the mats needed to be a scrubbed or if the drains needed to be flushed but there was a strong sour smell that I wouldn't expect from a restaurant with this price point. Service was friendly and attentive. We tried thee iconic blooming onion ($10) which was tasty but I personally would prefer less seasoning in the batter but the dipping sauce was good and the portion was way more than the two of us wanted to eat (so perfect for a group). We split a full rack of ribs ($21) They came with fries and was enough for the both of us without feeling completely full. Not sure I will be back anytime soon but it did look like they had some good lunch options. Overall it was a good experience, just not amazing for the price we paid. read more

I ate here a couple weeks ago and the food was phenomenal. Fast forward to last night when I went to eat there again. The service was terrible and there were plenty of servers. We order our food and drinks (I ordered the same exact thing from the time before-bloomin' chicken sandwich and broccoli). They bring my husbands salad and we have no silver ware so I make the comment hey can we please have some silverware...oh yeah just a minute we are wrapping it. 11 minutes later we get silverware so he can finally eat his salad. They finally bring our food out and mine doesn't come with the extra sauce. Ok whatever it's going to take some time to get someone's attention to even get some so I use my husbands. My sandwich was just blah...chicken was way overdone and my broccoli was way way over cooked to the point of mush. Finally 1 1/2 hours total being there we get our check to pay and leave. I decide to use the bathroom and there is no toilet paper in any stall and it's dirty with cold water to wash your hands and just a few paper towels. I tell a man who is cleaning tables but distracted by his girl friends to even care. I won't be back. Super disappointed. I hate giving a bad review but to say I was disappointed is an understatement. read more

I grade chain restaurants on a different curve than the independent places. I do this because they tend to compromise on quality due to trying to appeal to the masses and churning out food quickly, it is a different model. I needed a quick meal tonight and had some free cash to burn here. Ordering online was quick and easy (best part of the meal). Upon arriving to pick up my order I wait an additional 15 minutes. I would not care but the email confirmation said the food would be ready by 6:20. Since I waited on my food, I made the poor assumption it would be warm at the very least. Cold salmon and calamari that tasted like it had been sitting out for some time. The carrot cake was good so, I will award points here and I am not ill yet (the night is still young) which means 2 star territory. Here is the frustrating thing, I am not Outbacks prime target for dinning. I use up my gift card and probably do not end up in again for another 5 years but the parking lot was packed and there was a wait to get food. Meaning there are a lot of people who get excited and save their hard earned money to eat at Outback and this is the caliber of food they receive. Hogwash! There is no excuse for serving cold food to your customers. Clearly they do not value their customers as their customers value the Outback name. read more

Service was terrible and food was just was bad. Despite checking on the tables surrounding ours, we were continually ignored by our server, having to flag her down several times just to get refills on our drinks, so much so that at one point she thought one drink didn't need to be refilled because so much ice had melted making it appear as though that drink was not finished. I have been a long-time fan of Outback. My boyfriend and I went there last night for an early Valentines Day dinner (to avoid the crowd and he works at a restaurant also.) Last night was the first unpleasant experience I have had there. We were quoted a 40 min wait for the dining room (we expected it to be busy but not quite this much). We waited 10 mins and were able to get first-come/first-serve seating at a table in the bar. It was another ten minutes before we saw a server, who we eventually saw only had a four-table section. I have worked in restaurants also so I understand that there is a lot of teamwork and helping out the other servers. Not a big deal. We ordered the spinach dip app. Not bad but nothing special. I got a salad and my boyfriend got the french onion soup. The soup and salad were easily the best part of the meal. He ordered the prime rib medium rare. I ordered the tilapia with crab meat. Both were over-cooked. The crab meat was crusty and hard. Fish crispy on the edges. His steak was the worst. He orders prime rib quite a bit when we go out. Always loves it. It came out and was only about a half of an inch thick and looked smaller than the 8 ounce portion that was ordered. I was embarrassed because it was at my request we went there. Overall very disappointing. Two stars only because of the years I enjoyed going there prior to last night. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Outbacks food is very tasty and the drinks are fun. We ordered a punch type drink the we could refill and press ourselves. This made a fun experience while having dinner. When I first glanced at the menu it's kind of confusing. It's set up that you have to pick your cut and weight of meat. It took me a while longer to get through all the choices and where they were located on the menu. I also felt the prices were a few dollars to high on every item but the food is delicious so it's worth it. read more

Valentine's Disaster... We went out for a nice dinner on Feb 14, 2023 (today). Our experience was so poor that I decided to write my first Yelp review ever. We got to the restaurant at 4:45 pm to beat the evening dinner rush. We were seated promptly and had our drinks a few minutes later. By the time we had our food orders sent to the kitchen, it was roughly 5 pm. We waited, and waited, and waited some more. 4 groups of people that were seated after us received their food, but ours was nowhere to be found. We sat and had a nice conversation and waited patiently. The waitress was kind and apologized 3 separate times for the slow service. By the time we hit 5:40 pm, the conversation started about paying for the drinks we had and then leaving. At 5:50 we scrapped the idea of a dinner date as we NEVER even received our food. We dropped a 20 on the table to cover one alcoholic drink, a soda, and a side salad. That was more than I should have paid. $0 would have been sufficient, but the waitress was kind. A few years earlier, a similar bad experience at this location kept us from returning for a while. Undercooked food was the culprit the first go around. After multiple bad experiences and the restaurant requiring me to cook a late dinner (mind you we live almost an hour away), they've more than earned a one star rating. We will not be back. Fool me once, shame on thee. Fool me twice, shame on me. Hopefully others haven't had the same experiences. Our service has never been this bad at other locations. read more

Tonight my husband and I went into Outback expecting a wonderful meal. Instead we got a meal completely laced with pepper. When we complained to the gentleman that introduced himself as the owner he took no ownership of the poorly cooked meal. Instead he basically blamed us for not asking for the seasoning to be light. Service was horrible.. the waiter was so inattentive.. we were given one loaf of bread for a table of 3.. which was gone in a flash, but he never showed up to ask if we wanted more. He was circling another table by us but never bothered to check in to refill my empty water cup. By the time the food came and he finally realized my empty cup, he said he would get me more water but didn't do so until I was already halfway through with my meal. He never checked in to see if the food was good or if we needed anything else, topped up my water and left.. We were planning on desserts but by the time we were done with our meal, plates completely empty, we were sitting there for at least 20 minutes before he came up to us if we wanted anything.. we were too disappointed to bother getting dessert since it's probably gonna take another half an hour for it to come out at his pace... the bill pretty much took another 15 minutes to be brought out after that... I'm going to go ahead and give this place three stars because it really is the only place I go to that has decent prices for a pretty good steak. Where it loses stars is the service. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. I always order the same thing, Bloomin' Petals (Petals of the Bloomin'Onion because I can't eat a whole one!) The Outback Sirloin 6oz with a side salad with their "Italian dressing" which is called a mustard vinagrette dressing, I always order extra...and finally some mashed potatoes, although their baked potatoes are pretty awesome too. Some other items i have had is the Chicken on the Barbie (grilled BBQ chicken) which is great, the bread is great, and the drinks are OK. The service is sub par but it looks as though they hired a bunch of new people and my last experience was good. In my experience here the waiters do forget alot of the extras you ask for, such as sugar for your iced tea, a refill, or an extra side of dressing, but the food pretty much makes up for it. I'm sure at least most people have visited an Outback Steakhouse in their lives, but if you haven't, try it! read more

We stopped here to have dinner tonight before checking into our hotel for the evening. Let me start with what was good. Our server was awesome. A young man who was personable and was working his tail off. The drinks were great, food was good. I had pork Medallions. One of the pieces was very tough but the others were good. Could have used more pineapple. Only two small pieces. Overall, good and I'd get it again. My husband had an 8oz filet, ordered medium rare. It was overcooked but he said tasted good. Now the bad. The hostess was incredibly unprofessional. First she didn't acknowledge us as we walked in because she was too busy watching a show on her phone. We emcee up being seated right behind the hostess stand where she continued to watch her phone at a volume high enough we could hear it. When we walked out, she was sitting on the phone texting. A customer walked in waiting for someone to take care of him. She didn't see him because she was sitting on the floor. Seriously? Isn't anyone teaching these young kids professional behavior. I understand that places are short staffed but how about setting some acceptable standards. read more

While passing through Des Moines, IA we decided to stop at a favorite of ours, Outback. We have eaten at this particular location once before, so figured it was a good choice. The wait wasn't long although misquoted horribly; service was okay; and the food/presentation left something to be desired. The Hubby and I split most meals because we just don't eat the size portions that are served in the restaurants today. We usually order an appetizer and one meal to split. Every other time we split a meal at Outback, it comes on two plates. This time, I guess either the server didn't ring it in properly or the expo cook didn't bother. Either way, we had to ask for another plate for both courses. My favorite thing at Outback is their wedge salad. Not this visit. Presentation and taste left a lot to be desired. Never mind the fact that I asked for no onions and they didn't bother to adhere to that request. Overall it was an okay visit. I'm sure we will try them again, for as many times as we travel up that way. read more

Busy Friday night. Long wait for table even though we called ahead by 45 minutes. Waiter was good, Apps came out fairly quickly. My wife's prime rib was cold. not just warm, but cold. the waiter took it back to kitchen. It was brought back in same condition it was sent back in. Manager came to table and explained the process of cooking prime rib. My wife said she wanted the prime rib warm. He repeated the process and asked what it is that she wanted? She repeated that she wanted it warm. He huffed a bit and took it back to kitchen only to reappear with new plate with a huge slab of prime rib on it. He set the plate down and complained how hot the plate was and examined his hand, because it touched the hot plate. Unfortunately it took a lot of fuss to get hot food to the table. I have been to outback on many occasions and never gave thought to the name until the manager said it came from crocodile Dundee way back in the day. Today we got to try quite an array of items from the menu and they were all amazing. We started out trying the rosè sangria. It had a really fruity flavor I'm just not a big fan of sangria. We got to try the steak quesadilla which was nice and had a good amount of steak and cheese which is nice because usually they are really skimpy on one or the other. Then we tried the 3 point rib bloom. The blooming onion is always amazing but add some cheesy fries and some amazing ribs and this is quite the treat for everyone at the table. We then got to try the Toowoomba shrimp topped salmon. The salmon was nice and flakey and the shrimp and sauce it was served with was amazing. Then we tried the steak and ribs with a chance to try all the ribs. We tried the dry rub ribs first. They were very tender and flavorful but I'm more of a saucy rib guy. We then tried the bbq ribs. They are amazing. Always my too choice. Then we tried the honey siracha ribs. These ribs had on heck of a kick which was quite a suprise. These are for the heat lovers I would for sure have these again. The steak was medium rare just the way it should be. The steak didn't even need sauce it was super juicy and flavorful. They served it was a side of mashed potoes. These were good but with all the other food already eaten not something I ate much of. We then had dessert. We had the double chocolate mini dessert parfait. This was quite the amazing chocolaty treat. It was a bit to much chocolate for me but I'm not a huge chocolate eater. All in all this was a great experience that I am sure I will be back to enjoy more of this new amazing menu. read more

My husband and I were in last Friday evening. Our server was Tate. Not only was he absolutely adorable, but he was funny, kind, and great at his job. He made the experience even more enjoyable. Steaks were cooked as we asked, drinks were great (and happy hour is till 6!!!), and the hosts were friendly as well. I highly recommend this location. If you go, make sure to ask for Tate! I usually only write negative reviews but surprisingly this one is not. My family and I ordered from outback online and went to go pick it up at the store. The drinks that we ordered were not given to us but we did not realize until we got home. I called the store to see what they could do and the manager was so nice. He upgraded our drinks to the biggest size, threw in a free piece of cheesecake, and drove out and delivered it to us. I was so impressed.... as many restaurants would not do this! Best customer service I've had in a long time. We are customers for life now!!! read more
