I was craving a well cooked steak so my better half and I headed to Outback, service was fast and friendly, and both my steak and my wife's salmon were well prepared. One beer for me on ice water for the wife a large slice of carrot cake to go and if I remember correctly, the bill with tip was just over $100. Outback is becoming our go to place for steaks.

I am visiting out of town. My friend and I came here for lunch. There are no longer Outbacks where I live and this was a treat. Our server was fantastic! She went above and beyond for us. The restaurant was clean and very inviting. I had the coconut shrimp with a side of loaded mashed potatoes. It was delicious! The rest of the staff were also super friendly. If you are in the area, definitely check them out!

The Outback Steakhouse in Colonie is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The waitstaff and especially the manager are very friendly and always a pleasure to be around. When you place your order with your waitstaff it is very efficient. When the food is ready anyone that is available brings it right out so it is always hot and ready for consumption. I have never had bad service here. The food is always so delicious. I may not have pictures of my food because I am so happy to dig right in. There is plenty of parking and easy to get to right off of Wolf Road. Come try this place you will not be disappointed. The ambiance here is great. Lots of room and plenty of tables or booths depending on where you want to sit. There is a bar and different set up near the bar too. I love this place. Steaks anyway you want them, seafood and even pasta. Great variety.

We came here for an early Father's Day dinner. The restaurant was very busy. The staff was fast, kind, and efficient. Our drink orders were taken right away and we were brought some delicious warm bread. I ordered the croc-tail which was pretty good. The lower star rating is because the steak was a bit tough and didn't have great flavor. I ordered the sweet potato with it and it had a texture like it had been frozen. The broccoli and shrimp were good though! Overall, I'd recommend coming here for the staff and some decent food!

From Michael the manager, meeting & greeting us to checking in on us while we were dining, to Emma, our server waiting on us, anticipating our every single need, to the food being cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend enough how this is the go to place in upstate NY. THIS IS THE PLACE We waited for a few members of our party with two martinis at the bar, which cost $38. I deconstructed the Cosmo, which was a splash of peach and kettle one which was a three dollar of charge for an $18 drink. We had the back room for a large party (9)Servers staff were friendly and accommodating. I was surprised at how long it took too get seated. The seafood tower of lovely had asked for warm butter. The side dishes are all à la carte but the potatoes and the asparagus excellent. Mistakes were done as ordered just been prepared for price shock. I recommend the crème brûlée for dessert and the naughty Irishman coffee.. overall was a nice experience with attentive, weight, staff and creative and with a sense of humor! I personally cannot afford to go there except for very special occasions. A meal at Ruth's Chris feels like an event. There's so much anticipation. Yes, the prices are high but it seems that you get what you pay for. A wonderful meal with top notch service and ambiance. I did not find it pretentious. I was concerned that it might be. There is no dress code. While some dressed up, others were casually dressed. One man even showed up in a very wrinkled shirt and the staff treated him as well as any other guest. The wait staff is amazing. Our server was Valbon. He was gracious, helpful and very thorough in describing food preparation. My friend had a Porterhouse Steak prepared medium well done with just a bit of pink. It was a massive steak. He said it was prepared perfectly. Same for the mashed potatoes and asparagus. I don't eat much red meat. Valbon recommended the sea bass for me. It was remarkably tender. I enjoyed the sautéd vegetables, too. I was amazed that I finished my entire meal. My friend took part of his giant steak home and enjoyed it the next day. I asked for a light cocktail. A vodka-based Lemon Drop martini was recommended for me. It's a popular drink there. It was just right. Ruth's Chris is a chain. I know that some people frown on eating at restaurant chains because of quality concerns. But Ruth's Chris is fine dining and the food preparation is apparently held to high standards. Our meals were enjoyable. It was our first time trying this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. They added decorations on our table and also gave my wife a small cake and candle which was a nice gesture. Steak was great and service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and even the manager stopped at our table to greet us. We will definitely come back.

We went to Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse last weekend with a party of 10. Our group meets up once a month and tries a new place each time. I had been here once before over the summer and had a great experience then. That time we were seated in one of the alcove style rooms. It is not fully private but it definitely feels like your own space, and it added a lot to the atmosphere. The food and service were excellent on that visit, and the birthday person in our group loved the theming of the room. This time we were supposed to be seated in the Sinatra room. After our reservation time passed, the hostess came over and explained they had made a mistake with the room booking and it was not available. They moved us to a large table in the main dining area and offered us four appetizers on the house to make up for it. That immediately smoothed things over, and no one in our group had any issues after that. Mistakes happen, it is how a place handles them that matters, and they handled this very well. The main dining area has a nice ambience, but it is a bit noisy compared to the alcove spaces. Food wise, we had a wide range, steaks, chicken, veal, and some gluten free options. Most of the group had alcoholic drinks, while a few of us stuck with soda and water. One friend said the cola he got at the bar while we waited was flat and he skipped it after that. I tried a soda at the table and mine was fine. He later had a lemon lime soda, not sure if it was 7Up or Starry, and had no complaints, so it is possible they changed out the CO2 in between. Service really stood out. It is not easy to manage a table of 10, but our waitress was outstanding and very friendly. We were served in a timely manner, and several people commented on both the portion sizes and the quality of the meals. A few in our group even said they felt the pricing was a bargain for what you get. Overall, we will definitely be back. Scheduling errors and things out of the staff's control happen anywhere, but many places either do not apologize or do nothing to fix it. Here, they did both, and their solution was more than generous. Kudos to them. 4 stars.

Then the food... 2 of us ordered filet mignon it came out burnt and over done it looked like a burnt hamburger very thin (not the way a medium and medium rare filet should be obviously) Who let that even leave the kitchen! The waitress noticed right away and sent them back - manager came over and said oh sorry it depends on who's in the kitchen - what? Wow blew our minds -- ok so the next one came out still black but cooked a bit better - no filet should be black they apparently smooched it on a grill ugh! As I waited for the hostess she was clearly overwhelmed and couldn't eek out a smile to any of the people she greeted. In the lively restaurant, a few tables of girls-night out, birthday dinners, couples both young & old, bar seating with the World Cup on TV. Our server was very pleasant. The food was good, by Albany standards, heavy on the butter, salt and cream. It wasn't bad but for me they could pull back on the richness and let the herbs/mushrooms/fish/etc shine through. 2 out of the 3 us intentionally only ate half our portions, planning to eat the rest "tomorrow" and told the server we wanted to box them togo. She offered to do that for us, while we were happily chatting, sipping the rest of our wine. When the boxes didn't reappear, the server apologized that someone threw the boxes away. It was disappointing, especially when we paid $25-28 dollars for our plates of pasta. Based on the overworked hostess and server, management needs to adjust their staffing to insure a better customer experience. When they toss out leftovers, not just a single bite, but huge plate of food, it would seem appropriate to provide a "peace offering" perhaps put a small dessert togo or certificate for a free appetizer on a future visit. If I was local I'd probably return.

My wife and I had dinner with another couple last week at The LongHorn Steakhouse in albany. (We live in Long Island, NY.) This was my first visit to this location and I could not have enjoyed the evening more. Our friends told us that they get busy quickly in the evening so we arrived at 6:00PM to a very warm welcome and were seated immediately. I knew that this was gong to be a good experience just from the way it started. We had to be out by 7:30 for a meeting so time was crucial/ Our very efficient server, came right over to our table and take a drink orders. She then delivered the drinks with menus and bread and asked us if we had any questions. We just wanted to sit and speak for a few minutes and enjoy our surroundings. This restaurant is a very comfortable spot where noise was not a problem even as they were filled to capacity. We all started with salads which were cool, crisp and tasty. The dinners we order included these two items: Flo's Filet®. This iconic cut has been here since opening in 1981. First, your Brunch menu and food are excellent, when we finally got our food - after roughly an hour of waiting - I was instantly reminded of why Dove and Deer is great - bold flavors, excellent preparation, gorgeous plates all in a city that desperately needs it. Second, I really felt bad for the 3 people responsible for running an entire restaurant on a Sunday (two waiters and one person in the kitchen). They did their absolute best, were so kind and apologetic, but obviously completely stressed out and frazzled. Tables got up and left after waiting for someone to get back to them - and we almost did too. It's unfair to restaurant staff to put the burden of running an entire place on them. I get if someone called off and you're short staffed 1 or 2 people, but did everyone call off? Besides 3 people? Come on. You have a real opportunity to be a go to brunch destination, my advice is to staff appropriately and give it a real go or risk customers not getting to experience the greatness that is your food - and taking their dollars to someplace far more mediocre. The only reason this isn't a 2 star or 1 star review is because of how hard your staff tried, and how good your food is (when it finally shows up).

I think many fathers have an idea of how they'd like to spend their special day. This particular dad (divorced) loves bbq. So we went. An adult son came along, too. I was not prepared for the spectacle. The large parking lot on Wolf Road in Colonie was very full. There was a line of people waiting outside. Some were standing while others were seated on cushioned benches. The management had pitched a tent at the front entrance where staff took care of check-in. I'd gone online before arriving and placed our party of three on the restaurant chain's online "waitlist" system. It sent me a text message telling us what time to arrive. We were right on time. The staff checked us in and ushered us inside. We were seated at a table within about five minutes. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but its waitlist system was remarkably efficient. Kudos to the staff for making it seem effortless. There were hundreds of people dining at the restaurant and yet we were greeted by three or four staffers who took our orders, checked on us repeatedly and kept bringing us refills of those deliciously warm bread rolls. Since this is most definitely a family restaurant--there are large monitors on the walls playing goofy videos and a tablet on each table with video games--to keep both children and adults occupied. In keeping with the Western theme there are longhorn window decorations and heads of bison, antelope, billy goats and deer on the walls. Our drinks were served almost immediately. I ordered a mocktail called passion fruit sparkler just in case I needed to be the designated driver. The entrees took a bit more time. With so many people to serve, we just had to be patient. So I played the games on the tablet. The server eventually arrived with my order of the beef tips in mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables. The meal was hot and delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals. We were stuffed. I took half of my meal home. Who knew that Father's Day at the Texas Road House was a cultural event? A phenomenon of sorts. I'm still amazed how the staff made everything work so smoothly. With so many families to feed it could have ended up disastrous but it turned out to be just the opposite. My friend had a great day which was made even better when his son surprised us all by insisting on paying for the entire meal. Thanks Texas Road House.

It is a good thing I did, as there was quite a long line (30 or so people) waiting to get in when we arrived. We were seated quickly and had our food ordered within about 10 minutes. The interior has an old-school look and charm to it, and it was quite nice though a bit dark. Thankfully, there wasn't loud music blaring at all. Lots of tables were crammed together but, perhaps because they weren't to full capacity while we were there, it didn't feel cramped. I ordered steak au poivre, and my wife had the prime rib. Both were prepared well and I really loved my steak. I chose rice pilaf as my side and it was decent enough but didn't taste like much beyond rice and tiny red bell peppers scattered throughout. My wife had a baked potato. Our food came out within about a half-hour, which seemed fair for such a busy time. It came with a salad bar which was good but not great. The usuals were there, though at the end were loaves of fresh made squishy bread and huge chunks of cheese. I think if you took the last two away it would have been a very average salad bar. But I enjoyed it for what it was. We each ordered dessert: I had the brownie sundae and my wife the turtle cheesecake. Mine was excellent, though it was hard to see the brownie included because they served it in a deep bowl covered with whipped cream. My wife's cheesecake looked great though it was a smallish piece on a place absolutely festooned with caramel and chocolate sauces. All desserts are priced the same, which is an interesting concept. All in all, we had a very nice meal. It wasn't cheap, but it was good. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a burger, or solely for their salad bar. But if you want a special preparation of beef then you will likely enjoy yourself. Just make reservations first!

Came here with my wife on a whim because we were looking for hanger steaks (my favorite cut), and…read morehoped they would have them. Truth be told, she called them first to inquire but never received a call back so we figured a quick drive over would sort it out. They are a small store off of Central, and by "off" I mean if you don't know it was there you might drive by it. Even if you have a smart phone you might drive by it, or it might direct you to pull into a non-connected parking lot. Not that it happened to us... They don't have a tremendous amount of selection but what they did have was impressive. They actually stocked several cuts of Wagyu beef, something I have always wanted to try (but never see on Japanese restaurant menus). We didn't get any today, but my birthday is coming up. They sadly didn't have hanger streak. We looked around but nothing spoke to us. Usually I am pretty content with getting meat at the regular supermarket, but if you want something special and it ISN'T hanger steak you could try here.
