NY Strip steak, medium rare, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and a glass of Cabernet.

Planned a special occasion dinner and they totally exceeded expectations with little celebration decorations on the table and first name recognition when we arrived. Spectacular service and always high standard food and wines.

We waited for a few members of our party with two martinis at the bar, which cost $38. I deconstructed the Cosmo, which was a splash of peach and kettle one which was a three dollar of charge for an $18 drink. We had the back room for a large party (9)Servers staff were friendly and accommodating. I was surprised at how long it took too get seated. The seafood tower of lovely had asked for warm butter. The side dishes are all à la carte but the potatoes and the asparagus excellent. Mistakes were done as ordered just been prepared for price shock. I recommend the crème brûlée for dessert and the naughty Irishman coffee.. overall was a nice experience with attentive, weight, staff and creative and with a sense of humor! I personally cannot afford to go there except for very special occasions.

A meal at Ruth's Chris feels like an event. There's so much anticipation. Yes, the prices are high but it seems that you get what you pay for. A wonderful meal with top notch service and ambiance. I did not find it pretentious. I was concerned that it might be. There is no dress code. While some dressed up, others were casually dressed. One man even showed up in a very wrinkled shirt and the staff treated him as well as any other guest. The wait staff is amazing. Our server was Valbon. He was gracious, helpful and very thorough in describing food preparation. My friend had a Porterhouse Steak prepared medium well done with just a bit of pink. It was a massive steak. He said it was prepared perfectly. Same for the mashed potatoes and asparagus. I don't eat much red meat. Valbon recommended the sea bass for me. It was remarkably tender. I enjoyed the sautéd vegetables, too. I was amazed that I finished my entire meal. My friend took part of his giant steak home and enjoyed it the next day. I asked for a light cocktail. A vodka-based Lemon Drop martini was recommended for me. It's a popular drink there. It was just right. Ruth's Chris is a chain. I know that some people frown on eating at restaurant chains because of quality concerns. But Ruth's Chris is fine dining and the food preparation is apparently held to high standards. Our meals were enjoyable.

Wonderful atmosphere and service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our experience! The food was great. Sides are large enough to split between two people. My steak was a bit more charred than I would have liked but once I cut that off it was spectacular! We loved the crab cakes, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus! Pomegranate martini was delightful as well!

We tried each of the 4 appetizers - zucchini fries, spinach artichoke dip, spice shrimp and ahi tuna.

We visited for happy hour at the bar this week. The service was impeccable and the food and cocktails were great. They were quite busy. The wait staff did their best to get around to all. Definitely will be back for happy hour 4-6 at the bar again and maybe even dine in the dining room.

My wife and I can't praise Ruth's Chris enough. It is a wonderful experience. The food is superb, but the staff really makes the difference. We would love to acknowledge the great job Kyle and Maria did to make our anniversary celebration memorable.

I dined here with two other people while traveling on business. James O. was our waiter, and he did a magnificent job. No one in my party wanted to order a steak at Ruth's Chris. We prefer to go to some place more prominent, like Peter Luger's in Williamsburg for that. So we decided to order fish. I and another person ordered the garlic-crusted sea bass, and the third person ordered the salmon and shrimp. The food was good, but it was the garlic mashed potatoes that got us choked up. You don't have to wait for Thanksgiving to have silky fresh and well-seasoned mashed potatoes. Just order a side of garlic mashed potatoes at Ruth's Chris. They were hot and steamy and tasted as if they were freshly harvested from a potato farm. They were also silky smooth yet lumpy. Perfectly seasoned with a hint of fresh garlic, they were garnished with some fresh chives on top. It does not get any better than that! I will Google the recipe so I can impress my dinner guests on special occasions! The roasted Brussels sprouts left a little to be desired because the bacon in it did not taste right. I will definitely return to Ruth's Chris so I can devour another side of garlic mashed potatoes. In all likelihood, it will probably be the only side dish that I order.

Came here for happy hour and was stunned by the great service. My lemon drops were absolutely perfect and my zucchini fries were perfectly crispy, not soggy like other places. My date had the steak sandwich and said it was really good. We each had two drinks and our food. I will certainly be returning for dinner soon. I'm always skeptical about how my experience will be at a chain restaurant but I really enjoyed it here.

Ruth's Chris Steak house has a lot of work to do before I would ever consider this place fine dining or even higher end dining. And they are serving highway robbery with these prices. Was the food good? Yeah, it was fine. Just fine. $100 per person needs to be a lot more than good or fine. It was loud, it was crowded, tables so close together that the waitress couldn't even get by without bumping our chairs. The service was shocking for the price point and illusion of a fine dining restaurant. The server was not very knowledgeable but she was nice enough. But after our order was taken we barely saw her again. Our table was never cleared, entrees came while we still have a table full of appetizer and salad plates, wine glasses were never filled, dessert was served without silverware, and the waiting at the end for the bill was ridiculous. This shouldn't be accepted when paying $80 for a steak. I opted to order the prefix menu. I ordered a Caesar salad, upgraded to a ribeye with a lobster tail, garlic mashed potatoes and dessert. The Caesar salad, the mashed potatoes, extremely boring and not even indulgent as expected for a steakhouse. The Caesar salad was overly salty and no different than I would expect from any chain steakhouse. The mashed potatoes were borderline gummy to me and were overly basic. I make much, much better mashed potatoes at home. The review will not be all negative, because my steak was excellent for my taste. I love a rare ribeye, however sometime it can be cold when served because it is not fully cooked. The 500° plate completely solved this issue. My steak was perfect for my taste, and the butter it was served with was delicious. No complaints on my steak. The lobster tail was okay, I prefer a steamed lobster and this was broiled, drying it out a bit. I ordered a bottle of wine so my bill was up there, $160 for just me. The prefix was about $100 with the upgrade and the cheapest bottle of wine was $56. In comparison, I could get almost the same meal for the same price at Morton's, another big chain steakhouse, and the experience would blow this one out of the water. Morton's knows how to do upscale dining, Ruth's Chris has no clue. If you have the money to spend on a fancy dinner, go somewhere else.

    Our Happy Anniversary menues.

To celebrate our anniversary, I made a dinner reservation at the newly-opened Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on Wolf Road in Colonie (Albany). When we arrived, the large parking lot was packed - even on a rainy night. Our OpenTable reservation was in good order and we were greeted warmly. When the hostess promptly seated us, we were delighted to see that our reserved table for two was adorn with Happy Anniversary glitter. Our menues also had Happy Anniversary written in bold colors at the top as you opened them. Small details, yes, but it sure made us feel special! The restaurant was full but the tables were spread far enough away so we could easily converse with one another in a normal tone (unlike Chianti II in Saratoga where you have to scream at each other to be heard because the tables are almost on top of one another!). The décor is inviting, calm, and not too industrial like many new dining establishments these days. Very pleasant. We started our meal with two expertly-created adult libations. Mine was a Dirty Martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives (our server's suggestion) and Tito's - the perfect amount of "dirty" (in other places, I often have to request more olive juice) and the creamy blue cheese was a delicious touch. My husband's specialty Dos Agave Margarita was also very good. I don't often expound about the drinks, but these were memorable. The menu offers a wide range of beef (of course), veal, lamb and seafood. We chose their prix fixe dinners which included three choices of salad, an entrée (6 oz. filet and shrimp or filet and lobster tail), a side and dessert. We both chose the Caesar Salad (ice cold and very crisp, dressing on the side). My entrée was the Filet and Lobster Tail but I upgraded to the Rib Eye for an upcharge, plus garlic mashed for my side. My husband selected the Filet and Shrimp but upgraded (upcharge) to the larger size (11 oz.) with creamed spinach as his side. Both steaks were cooked, rare, to perfection. Our three comments on the food are as follows: my lobster was, sadly, over cooked and dry and we both felt that with my husband's upgrade to the larger filet, they should have served three shrimp instead of only two. Also, in a fine dining restaurant such as Ruth's Chris, the bread should be served warm. It wasn't. The food earns 4-1/2 stars which, unfortunately, you can't give in these reviews. We took our dessert (mini cheesecakes) to go so I can't comment on them yet. Our server, Venetia, was spot-on. Her timing was superb. We didn't feel rushed. She gets 5 stars. Ditto the other people who cleared our dishes and the manager who checked on us twice to ensure we were pleased with our meals. Everything was conducted with a smile. Anyone who knows this franchise is aware that it's costly to dine here. We knew that going in, and the $300 hit for the two of us came as no surprise. But we've paid the same at 15 Church and Morton's at the Racino in Saratoga and did not have as positive experiences. So, for us, when we're celebrating a special occasion and have a hankering for steak, we will make the 50 minute drive for what - I have no doubt - will be another very enjoyable evening.

    Great job, Kyle & Maddison

Our company luncheon went exceptionally well thanks to the great service provided. The space was perfect & the food excellent. Thanks Kyle & Maddison for your great attitudes an excellent service!

The peach salmon was another standout, with the lemon-flavored rice adding a unique touch. And the Chocolate Cookie Skillet is an absolute must-have! First, your Brunch menu and food are excellent, when we finally got our food - after roughly an hour of waiting - I was instantly reminded of why Dove and Deer is great - bold flavors, excellent preparation, gorgeous plates all in a city that desperately needs it. Second, I really felt bad for the 3 people responsible for running an entire restaurant on a Sunday (two waiters and one person in the kitchen). They did their absolute best, were so kind and apologetic, but obviously completely stressed out and frazzled. Tables got up and left after waiting for someone to get back to them - and we almost did too. It's unfair to restaurant staff to put the burden of running an entire place on them. I get if someone called off and you're short staffed 1 or 2 people, but did everyone call off? Besides 3 people? Come on. You have a real opportunity to be a go to brunch destination, my advice is to staff appropriately and give it a real go or risk customers not getting to experience the greatness that is your food - and taking their dollars to someplace far more mediocre. The only reason this isn't a 2 star or 1 star review is because of how hard your staff tried, and how good your food is (when it finally shows up).

It's an essential stop whenever I'm in Albany, striking that rare balance between upscale sophistication and genuinely warm hospitality. Under the leadership of Jaime Ortiz and Ken Kehn, the restaurant continues to deliver a consistently exceptional experience. We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation for five while celebrating a friend's 45th birthday. We arrived early to enjoy the outstanding happy hour offerings, including $11 well martinis, excellent deviled eggs, oysters, and duck wings. The next day, I reviewed the bar tab and noticed we had been charged $16 per martini instead of the happy hour price. Since we ordered several rounds, the difference was significant and also affected the gratuity, as we tipped 22 percent. To the restaurant's credit, when I returned and pointed out the mistake, the staff addressed it promptly and reimbursed us for most of the overcharge. 677 is a good choice if you're visiting for a celebratory steak dinner, a business meal, or cocktails at happy hour, every detail feels polished and thoughtfully executed. One standout is the Hanging Tomahawk for Two -- a dramatic 50-ounce prime cut, sliced tableside and paired with parmesan- and butter-breadcrumb-crusted fingerling potatoes. It's every bit as impressive as it sounds. What truly elevates the experience is the staff. They don't simply serve guests -- they anticipate needs before you even realize them. In an era when fine dining can sometimes feel formulaic, 677 Prime distinguishes itself through constant refinement and a commitment to making each visit better than the last. Easily one of the finest restaurants in Albany. One pro-tip: review your tab before paying.

I think many fathers have an idea of how they'd like to spend their special day. This particular dad (divorced) loves bbq. So we went. An adult son came along, too. I was not prepared for the spectacle. The large parking lot on Wolf Road in Colonie was very full. There was a line of people waiting outside. Some were standing while others were seated on cushioned benches. The management had pitched a tent at the front entrance where staff took care of check-in. I'd gone online before arriving and placed our party of three on the restaurant chain's online "waitlist" system. It sent me a text message telling us what time to arrive. We were right on time. The staff checked us in and ushered us inside. We were seated at a table within about five minutes. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but its waitlist system was remarkably efficient. Kudos to the staff for making it seem effortless. There were hundreds of people dining at the restaurant and yet we were greeted by three or four staffers who took our orders, checked on us repeatedly and kept bringing us refills of those deliciously warm bread rolls. Since this is most definitely a family restaurant--there are large monitors on the walls playing goofy videos and a tablet on each table with video games--to keep both children and adults occupied. In keeping with the Western theme there are longhorn window decorations and heads of bison, antelope, billy goats and deer on the walls. Our drinks were served almost immediately. I ordered a mocktail called passion fruit sparkler just in case I needed to be the designated driver. The entrees took a bit more time. With so many people to serve, we just had to be patient. So I played the games on the tablet. The server eventually arrived with my order of the beef tips in mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables. The meal was hot and delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals. We were stuffed. I took half of my meal home. Who knew that Father's Day at the Texas Road House was a cultural event? A phenomenon of sorts. I'm still amazed how the staff made everything work so smoothly. With so many families to feed it could have ended up disastrous but it turned out to be just the opposite. My friend had a great day which was made even better when his son surprised us all by insisting on paying for the entire meal. Thanks Texas Road House.

The restaurant was lovely with caricatures of some famous people on the walls. It was very spacious and comfortable. We were sat at a booth and had a very good waitress. We first ordered the calamari. It was delicious!! For me, it was the first time I had this dish prepared "properly" because the calamari was tender and lightly breaded. So good. My friend said it should never be rubbery or chewy (the way I've mostly had it). For my dinner, I ordered the linguine with clam sauce. I asked her which was the better option, and she said most people order it with the white sauce, so I did. And I'm glad I did, although I know I would've probably liked the red sauce too. It was very good. The clams were perfect and the pasta had chopped clams too. It was so good. One of my Italian favorites and it was perfect. My friend raved about his Veal Marsala. I also had a glass of house Pino Grigio which was lovely. The next day we came back and had dinner again here on Sunday, after the conference. All he wanted was the calamari for his dinner, and he shared it with me. I had a taste for some traditional pasta so I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I loved it and shared some of it with him because those meatballs were yuge!! And so very tasty. His Italian self said they were made very well. Yum!! With our meals I forgot to mention that we were also served warm Italian bread with butter. Perfect accompaniment. After dinner I wanted something sweet but not too heavy and I enjoyed the berries. It was perfect after my filling pasta dinner. This restaurant is very good, food is delicious and the waitstaff is welcoming and attentive. We even walked around and toured all the interesting artwork in the restaurant before we left the last night. I wish to be able to come back here again soon! My wife and I had dinner with another couple last week at The LongHorn Steakhouse in albany. (We live in Long Island, NY.) This was my first visit to this location and I could not have enjoyed the evening more. Our friends told us that they get busy quickly in the evening so we arrived at 6:00PM to a very warm welcome and were seated immediately. I knew that this was gong to be a good experience just from the way it started. We had to be out by 7:30 for a meeting so time was crucial/ Our very efficient server, came right over to our table and take a drink orders. She then delivered the drinks with menus and bread and asked us if we had any questions. We just wanted to sit and speak for a few minutes and enjoy our surroundings. This restaurant is a very comfortable spot where noise was not a problem even as they were filled to capacity. We all started with salads which were cool, crisp and tasty. The dinners we order included these two items: Flo's Filet®. This iconic cut has been here since opening in 1981. A very tender center cut is coated with signature Grill Seasoning and seared to lock in the classic buttery flavor. - You knew everyone enjoyed this Just from the expressions on everyone's face. They had a wide variety of sides with the main meal and most of us went with a salad and potato or greens. Chop Steak*. A 10 oz. of fresh ground beef loaded with roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions, smothered with savory garlic herb sauce. - This was my selection. I love a good chop steak and find fewer and fewer restaurants offering it. I usually have to go with a large hamburger. This was a welcome choice and really [really] good. Overall, we were all VERY HAPPY to have come here and we all truly enjoyed ourselves. We look forward to visiting a LongHorn not far from where we live. On a personal note... I DO NOT understand the one star reviews. These are not regular Yelp users as shown by the fact that they have no friends, no pictures and either one or two reviews. DO NOT pay attention to them. People are definitely entitled to their opinions but these clearly do not reflect the views of all the people who have been here. KUDOs to the team at LongHorn Steakhouse!

The Roosevelt Room in Troy was a great experience from start to finish. I was honestly expecting a standalone building, but it is tucked into a strip mall near HVCC. That said, parking was easy and stress free, which is always a plus. This was our first visit as a party of four, and the service was superb. The attention to detail really stood out and was noticed immediately. Our waitress checked in at the right times, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly as expected. Meals are made to order, so substitutions were no issue at all, and it was nice to see gluten free options available. When you walk in, you pass through a curtain and are immediately greeted by a coat attendant who takes your coats, which instantly gives the place an upscale feel. The ambiance is well done, with soft lighting and nice background music. It is on the smaller side and dimly lit, but that is clearly intentional. The menus actually light up, which was a unique and thoughtful touch that fits the atmosphere perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. It did not seem necessary on this particular evening, but I would definitely recommend them on a weekend given the size of the space. The food itself was excellent. Everything we ordered was very tasty, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Desserts are prepared by a pastry chef and were just as good as the rest of the meal. It is definitely on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the level of service and atmosphere. This feels like a special occasion type of place, and in that context, it is worth every penny. We really enjoyed our night and would absolutely come back. There was also a sign mentioning live jazz on Fridays, which sounds like a great added touch. Overall, a very strong 5 stars.

Located in a strip near HVCC, once through the doors you are greeted by a friendly to welcome and direct you and we were directed to our goal- the bar. First, the design and decor are beautiful. It has clean, updated mid-century modern design that's very cool and elegant. At the bar we we had the pleasure of being served, hosted, by Erika and Ed. Wonderful mixologists who made our time there a true delight. We had scrumptious, perfectly made cocktails and our apps were delicious. Before our apps arrived, we were given an amuse bouche (manchego cheese with fig.) What a nice touch. Will definitely be back.

The food and cocktails were delicious! We had a Nigroni and Blackberry Basil drink. The Nigroni was blended well, smoky and a good quality. The Blackberry Basil drink was also delicious, which says something as I'm a picky cocktail drinker! I ordered the bucatini which was flavorful with specialty mushrooms and whipped feta. The description slightly varied from what I received as I didn't see any of the nuts described but it was so good I'll overlook it. My husband had a buttery bass which he enjoyed. Our chocolate cake was rich and the perfect size for a sweet ending. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Overall highly recommend and thought the value was on par for our area. Also bonus points for cardboard takeout containers. I hate plastic and styrofoam.

This restaurant has a lot of things going for it which appeal to me. They do need to clean up their web information, and with that, the associated Yelp information. Both list the weeknight opening time as 5pm, and yet in different spots, they list a weekday happy hour starting at 4pm. Other snippets of conversation I overheard imply they have to make a few other menu updates. But as per my review, that didn't adversely affect my opinion of the place at all. We did, in fact, show up during the "happy hour period prior to 5pm," and we sat at the bar for drinks, for happy hour foods, and for our dinners. The happy hour menu is vague for cocktails... "well crafted cocktails" will be discounted, but you really have to ask which ones get the discount or not. We were content to order some of their regularly crafted cocktails. We were inundated with menus as well, one of which we got by mentioning it was our first visit there. That had two of immediate interest, the lobster and scallop crusted salmon, and the quail. I had never had quail, so of course I had to try it, and it was delicious (as was the salmon, which I also got to sample). I can't comment on table service, since we sat at the bar for the entire evening, but that was quite enjoyable... friendly service, made to feel welcome immediately, great conversation among staff and patrons. I look forward to exploring more of their offerings on future visits.
