Bring your appetite! This place is a meat lovers dream. Perfect for people on a Keto diet. So many choices! It's amazing actually. The salad bar is chock full of meats and cheeses and vegetables. There's a soup station. I tried the lobster bisque. It was delicious, although it could have been a little hotter. We were the first ones there at 4 o'clock. Someone was getting some on our way out and it was piping hot. I have never been here before. It was a cool experience. If you haven't read any of the previous reviews, and don't know how it works, flip your coin to green and they bring this beautiful meat to your table and carve it right there. They bring skewers of bacon wrapped chicken or Parmesan encrusted pork loin. The chicken and pork was moist. Delicious! They slide the chicken and pork right off the hot skewers. And they were right there with offerings, because I didn't turn my chip around. Red for stop, green for go. I did not try the sausage because I was getting so full. It looked amazing. I also tried the fillet but I gave that to my nephew because I'm not a fan of red meat. Most of the beef is medium to medium rare, and I prefer medium well to well done. I had a sliver of the flank steak and it was so good! I really liked the cold green beans from the buffet and the beets. The fresh mozzarella and goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, just endless! So fresh and delicious. The place is huge and welcoming. The staff was amazing. A nice experience! I will definitely bring friends next time!

    "Full martini"? I think not

Christmas day, and the salad buffet was perfectly stocked and fresh. Jose was a little light on the martini pour, otherwise, the usual good service from this chain.

We made a reservation online to celebrate a friend's birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess. We were informed they can not sit us until the entire party arrives We did not wait long. We were walked to our table but the hostess, as soon as we sat our waiter, Hector B, arrived and kindly introduced himself. We informs him it was our first time. He took his time explaining in detail how it works. What was at the salad bar and how many choices of meet were available. He took our drink order and we made our way over to the buffet. An amazing array of meats (includes seafood), veggies and sauces. The hot buffet contained white rice, black beans, scalloped potatoes, soup and a mushroom item. My favorite meat selection was the spicy beef. The bathroom was dark but the dining area was decorated beautifully, not too noisy. They sang Happy Birthday to the birthday girl. Dessert was good, nothing to die over. Overall a great time.

Brazilian "food" basically a delicious salad bar you can't fully enjoy if you want to eat $55 worth of meat. They do offer just salad bar option but it would be nice if I could get the salad bar with a bit of protein. Regardless, the experience is fun and the meat is typically pretty well made. If it's busy, you do have to wait forever to get more protein from the staff who bring it to your table. Caveat bring if you let your server know they can send something in particular right over to you which is generally nice. Servers are attentive and friendly. Wine list is extensive but I prefer the caipirinha cocktail, strawberry is delicious ! They also have quite a few desserts to choose from. They're priced around the standard of $10-$15 which is a bit high for the size you get but they are tasty. The place is pretty inside! It's dimly lit and cozy, everything is clean and neat when you are sat at your table!

Lamb chops are now an additional charge? What is the additional charge? Are they going to return to the regular menu anytime soon?

Good afternoon. Lamb chops are now $18 (full skewer) or $9 (half skewer). This a permanent change as of now. Thank you.

Is lunch cheaper than dinner? I see the restaurant is open for lunch Sat-Sun. Wondering if it's less than $45/pp.

Lunch is $10 cheaper than dinner. I wouldn't recommend the lunch we tried it and the meat service is very very slow and limited during lunch (so much so my wife wants to cross it off the list) its worth waiting for dinner and spending the extra… Read more

Polonaise Ballroom - The stage setup for our wedding

From the moment we arrived that afternoon until the last song played, this venue became the heart of our Christmas celebration--warm, glowing, and unforgettable. When we got engaged in October 2023, we searched everywhere for a venue that felt like "us." We visited beautiful places, but nothing gave us that feeling. Then one day, we saw an event at the Polish Community Center online and decided to go see it for ourselves. The moment we walked through the doors that December, surrounded by garlands, lights, and Christmas trees, it was like the universe said, "This is the one." We knew instantly this was where our story needed to be told. We were blessed to work with Barbara, Kelly, and Anna--three of the kindest, most dedicated people we've met. They listened, guided, reassured, and brought our vision to life in ways we couldn't have imagined. They cared about our wedding as if it were their own. During our tasting, we tried their vegetable lasagna with a white sauce for the first time, and it left us speechless. It was warm, comforting, and full of flavor--just like everything else they offered us. Every choice we made with them felt right. Because our wedding fell between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the timing was perfect. The venue became a breathtaking holiday wonderland. The stage was framed by Christmas trees glowing softly behind us. The garland around the mirrors sparkled with warm lights and festive bows. The bar area transformed with tall, beautifully decorated trees. One staff member even hand-designed ribbon and ornament themes for all the trees in the entire building--details we will never forget. The linens and custom-folded green "Christmas tree" napkins completed the look, making every table feel like a page out of a holiday storybook. On the day itself, everything came together like a perfectly wrapped gift. The appetizers during the cocktail hour--bacon-wrapped scallops, spinach artichoke dip, spring rolls, meatballs--were outstanding. Ted and the bar staff created magic with our signature drink, Lucky's Magic Mistletoe, named after our beloved dog. Guests absolutely adored it. Just before our grand entrance, my wife experienced a small wardrobe crisis. A staff member noticed instantly and called Kathy, who arrived like a guardian angel and fixed the dress with skill and grace. She didn't just save the dress--she saved the moment. While that was happening, more staff brought us plates of food to make sure we ate, knowing how easily couples forget to do that. They cared for us in a way that felt genuine and deeply heartfelt. When our guests first walked into the ballroom, the reactions said it all. Gasps, smiles, whispers of "wow." The 12-foot Christmas tree, the decorated bar trees, the glowing garlands, the gold plates reflecting the lights--everything shimmered with holiday warmth. Sitting together on the stage as newlyweds, quietly taking in the view of the room, we were able to breathe, smile, and truly absorb the beauty of the moment. It was a gift we didn't know we needed. Dinner was exceptional--flavorful, filling, beautifully presented. I still tell people that the vegetable lasagna is one of the best dishes I've ever had. Our dessert and candy tables were massive hits. The staff arranged everything perfectly and replenished items all night long. Guests still talk about how friendly the staff was and how incredible the bartenders were. We could never thank the Polish Community Center enough for what they gave us--a wedding that felt like walking into a living Christmas card. A night full of warmth, beauty, and love. A celebration we will cherish forever. To Barbara, Kelly, Anna, Ted, Kathy, and every staff member who helped create our dream: thank you. You gave us more than a wedding. You gave us a memory we will hold close to our hearts for the rest of our lives. We recommend the Polish Community Center without hesitation. If you want a wedding overflowing with heart, care, beauty, and magic--this is the place where it happens.

I'd been here several times over many years for luncheon meetings and other similar work gatherings. I was aware that there were times when the members of the PCC would make and sell Polish food to the general public, but I never took advantage of the opportunity. With so many restaurants closed or only selling takeout during the COVID-19 restriction period, I decided to take advantage of the PCC's announcement of what I now understand is a monthly event selling a variety of Polish food for takeout. How it works. They announce on their web page the date of the event and ask you to call a day or two ahead to place your order. During the pandemic you can choose between curb-side pickup or indoor pickup. You must wear a mask to be allowed inside. This event is so popular that you are likely to have to wait for your order even though you will have an assigned pickup time. The food for my 4:30 pickup time was not ready until 5:00. A friend with a 5:15 pickup time did not receive her food until 6:15. The menu includes pierogi, golumpki, kielbasa, and sauerkraut. The Polish Platter ($14) has a good portion of everything and comes with some rye bread. Only one filling is available for the pierogi and that is potato and cheese. I will say that even though the organizational effort could benefit from some improvement, if you're a patient person you'll survive the wait and likely believe, like me, that the food was worth the wait.

I've used similar extended stay hotels in the past & always had a good to great experience. Same with the Staybridge. Overall, it was a very good experience. The front desk staff were nice enough, for the most part, up until our last eve & check out morning, did we encounter a new front desk gal who was extremely upbeat & helpful. We asked for a picture together as the waitress at the Ruths' Chris steakhouse pretty much gave us the brush off when we asked if she could snap a photo before we left. The gal gladly obliged & seemed excited to learn that we were newly discovered siblings who found each other a few years ago & this was our first time away together to do some bonding... Here's the rundown of some of my thumbs up/thumbs down/meh... *I was told there would be coffee waiting if either party arrived before check-in. Unfortunately my sibling said the coffee wasn't hot & it was apparent that it was sitting out for awhile. That's a thumbs down! *About the bathroom in the suite - Floor seemed kind of sticky, I found some dust build up on the TP holder & the tub floor had no kind of slip prevention. It almost appeared there was a long time ago & maybe it wore off or was removed? There are marks on the tub floor but that was all. I recently had a knee injury & I was trying to step very carefully while holding onto the 2 small shower racks on the wall which you can place your soap on or whatever. I felt this was an accident waiting to happen & should be taken care of asap before someone takes a slip in that tub. And also, they could do better with their TP. I drove to the hotel & brought some softer varieties from home. But seriously, c'mon! Extended stays should splurge a bit for something like that imo. *We had the breakfast on Sat & Sun morning. Meh... The coffee was ok the first morn (Sat) but not so great on Sun or Mon morn. There's a decent variety of stuff but nothing to write home about. It's definitely a money & time saver to have the option for the complimentary breakfast though so it mostly should hit the spot. It worked for us. *The room overall was nice & cozy. There was a coffeemaker in the room (didn't use it) but I was disappointed there was no Keurig. I guess because they provide coffee but a lot of people like their Keurig's these days & can easily bring their favorite coffee along which I did. Oh well... *The bed was pretty damn comfortable. The room was quiet for the most part but then I was woken up several times during the nite to some weird noises that seemed to be coming from the hall. I have no clue & could not say what was going on. Could have been just a neighboring guest coming in or out because the doors close super hard with a big loud bang (EEK)! *Upon check out we had to do a split bill which I was hoping would not cause any confusion but we had the help of the nice gal from the nite before & a super nice manager who jumped in to make the check out an easy one & didn't mind taking the extra steps to help. Big thumbs up! *Parking was no issue, there's a big lot there. I know it seems I'm focusing a lot on the 'thumbs down' most of all but I write this to point out some stuff in hopes that management will see it & take stuff into consideration & also so people know in advance what to possibly expect. There's always room for improvement but with all that I would definitely consider using a Staybridge again if needed. This hotel was better than a lot of places I've stayed in the past so that says a lot... Overall, a thumbs up experience!

I could overlook the water buckets, (We counted 7 just in one section) - everyone is having leaks and problems. The dirty feet/socks are part of the territory, and I can't fault the staff for parents who dump their kids and then take off. (There was a boy between 10-12 in the "under 6' section getting rough with the kids. His mom apparently had to go to Macy's. Not sure why he wasn't in school but whatever) One of the rides was deflating while kids were playing on, in, and under it. OK, maybe shame on the parents for not watching them. But a parent should still feel their kids are safe, right??? The final straw for me was that they used 2 glass display cases as a barrier between the "role play" section (the part that has the castles and the nasty broken Dora the Explorer kitchen set) In an area where kids are supposed to be able to run and use the slide, it didn't seem safe to have GLASS as the barrier. Now i"m reading complaints that kids who've been there recently are getting sick. Wonderful. Not surprised, germs seem to love grime, and this place sure was full of it. please note, my experience was at the one in KINGSTON. We've been to the one in Taunton before, and found that one to be very clean and well-run.

The Fortress of Gaming is a new all things gaming event center referred to as, "A Country Club For…read moreGamers". It is located in the warehouse district of Railroad Avenue and a bit tricky to find until the signage is updated but it is more than worth the time you spend searching for it. The Fortress of Gaming is owned by the same person that runs Zombie Planet. The ambition of this place is as grand as the size the venue offers with a small storefront for things like paints, play mats, and dice, the majority of the other two large sections of the location are dedicated to running events and offering space to play games. A flat $5 entry fee gets you access to the facility, their large gaming library, on site concessions, and many tables. Currently, they have spaced out tables, a new HIPPA rated HVACC system with plenty of ventilation, and a requirement to prove you are vaccinated to enter. Masks are optional once inside as a result which is a nice upside to the requirement to prove you are vaccinated. I went for my first visit to try out a event called, "Paint and Take" which is where you buy a $25 kit that includes a pre primed miniature, the paints and brushes you need, and a cup for water so that you can essentially sit and paint with others and have a good time. Eventually, there are plans to get a liquor license and to possibly host "paint and sip" instructional events as well. The venue currently runs magic the gathering, digimon, Warhammer 40K events and really, the potential is vast right now for future events from regular board gaming nights to conventions. This is the gamer equivalent of a field of dreams. He built it, the only question now is, will they come? I hope so. This is a great space and I plan to visit often and see everything they have to offer. This is a local small business that is very niche and it is my hope that it is one of the examples of how we have built back better since the pandemic threw a wrench in all our lives. For those who know about Zombie Planet, note that the store is still there and not closing. It is going to be a full retail location now with more product to offer. It is shifting all it's event business to The Fortress of Gaming. This is an exciting new place to visit and I recommend doing so. It is not crowded, it is not noisy, it is clean and they follow current covid best practices. The owner is open to new ideas too. If you happen to have some nifty and feasible ideas for events you'd like to host at the Fortress, try talking to George about it. You may just find yourself with a venue that meets your gaming event needs :)

I usually game a couple of times a month, as well as attend various board game conventions. However, I don't like to go to game cafes in general... I just don't see the need. That being said, this place was new so my wife and I checked it out on a Saturday. They are located in practically the middle of nowhere in an old industrial section of Albany. They don't have a sign yet (bureaucratic red tape is slowing it down) and GPS will get you to the right area but not exactly there. Just keep driving around and behind the buildings until you find it. Inside, there are several rooms: one is for general gaming, the other appears to be set up for tournaments (or space rentals). We paid the $5 each for attendance (all-you-can-game) and checked out titles on the shelves. The owner said they had 300, but it looked like much less. They do own a gaming store (Zombie Planet) and he said they were hoping to get up to 500 titles. I recognized about 50% of the games they had, and probably had played 20% already. It is a nice collection, but if you want something in particular you might not find it. You could always bring your own, but I would rather stay at home and play. If you don't have a local gaming group, this is a good alternative. A miniatures tournament was going on in the back room and they were clearly having a good time. A couple of my friend's were getting killed (some things never change!) and it is a good venue for a tournament. Everyone is packed together and it is loud... but that is how things go. Speaking of which, you need to be vaccinated to get in so bring proof. I supposed post-covid that note won't be necessary anymore. They offer some hot food (chicken fingers, fries, pizza rolls, etc.) and cold food (pretzels, chips, candy) and various drinks. Prices are reasonable and any profits go to help support the operation, so I didn't mind paying a bit more than the local grocery store. I don't think you can bring food in, so keep that in mind. We stayed for a couple of hours and played 3-4 games. It was fun. If you are looking to connect with other local gamers this would be a great place to start. They clearly have a nice space for gaming.

(although located in the city, it's nestled in a peaceful area off the main roads.) They offer the most reasonable prices in the area. You can speak with their coordinator to adjust the package details to your needs. (our rental which included 5 hours of hall use AND an incredible bartender was a fraction of the cost compared to quotes from other locations) They have tons of available parking. (not having to deal with on-street parking was worth it in itself) They even have an outdoor seated lift to accommodate guests who have difficulty going up the stairs. (please note, there is no ramp for wheelchair access into the building at this time) All funds go directly to the club which hosts popular public events. We were searching for a local spot to accommodate a little gathering for a few hours where we could; bring in or cater our own food, play our own music, have access to indoor plumbing, and provide an intimate atmosphere without being crowded... It was hard to find this without paying more than our entire budget for the party itself. But thankfully we found the German-American Club of Albany! For a November baptism, we rented 1/2 of the hall which beautifully accommodated the 40+ attending guests, photo prop area, and large buffet set up. No regrets.

There are picnics on the third Sunday of each month beginning with the summer kickoff Father's Day picnic in their Schuetzenpark Biergarten. $3 cover charge for six hours of beer, food, & live music by various German style bands. Big, shady picnic area for your enjoyment. Wednesday evenings 7:30-1130 the club is open to the public. On Fridays German style dinner are available by reservation only. Reservations can be made on Wed after 9:00am. Call Caroline (518) 482-5845. The Friday evening dinners (5-9pm) are authentic German dishes like Oma would make. Music provided by various members. Their Facebook page is a good place to see the Friday dinner schedule. As there are no German style restaurants in the immediate Capitol District this is the place to try many things from a wurst platter to their always sold out Rouladen dinner. The members are a very welcoming group. Try either a picnic or dinner if you want a unique experience in the neighborhood. Note: we are not members, just neighbors. Nick & Liz, Colonie, NY
