I really like the horseradish cream sauce you can get to accompany your steak.

Even though I only live a couple of miles away from this restaurant, my first experience at a Black and Blue was in Massachusetts. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner there, and I hoped my experience at this restaurant would be just as good. It was, and I'd say perhaps even better. We arrived for our dinner reservation a little early, to take advantage of the happy hour drink prices at the bar. These are not advertised well, if at all, on their website, and the most recent post about these on their Facebook page is at least 6 years old. But obviously the patrons know - just about every seat at the bar was occupied by folks having happy hour drinks with their dinners at the bar. During the course of the evening, I had a second drink of the same type at my table at the regular price. It was slightly stronger - maybe a different bourbon? The quality of the food and service was exactly what I expected from a steakhouse of this caliber. Everything came out promptly, and all our meals came out at the same time. My steak was cooked as ordered and tender. I opted for one of their salads instead of a side - for only a couple dollars more than the cost of a side, you get a VERY large salad, definitely a better option. I do have two suggestions though: (1) attend to the rest rooms a bit more often, they were starting to get messy. (2) You might want to do a better job of marking the handicap parking spaces. There are no signs for them, and with all the salt on the asphalt, it was almost impossible to see the blue lines. I'm sure people parked in those spaces last night without realizing that.

20oz porterhouse well done with truffle butter and a side of mashed potatoes

Great service and delicious food. Staff were super welcoming for a birthday dinner. The scenery was nice and it the noise and music weren't overbearing.

Traveled to the Catskills for a Girl's weekend trip from LI. Being on LI, I have been to many of these type of restaurants (seafood + chops in a swanky atmosphere). The decor did impress from the outside look to the inside. We ordered the seafood tower to start. At this price point, it was really not worth it. A half lobster on top with maybe 1 or 2 crab legs. A few raw oysters and clams and few shrimp. I have definitely had better. In fact all the seafood dishes lacked. We got the lobster Mac and cheese also to share and it was overly salty. I ordered a sea bass and they were out of it so I asked if the same dish could be prepared with salmon instead, which I was told it could. I ended up entirely getting the salmon dish which I avoided because I didn't like the accompaniments. The waitress immediately realized and took the dish back to get it redone. It came back out and I don't think it was still correct however I ate what I could. Fish was overcooked. My friends had steaks and those arrived on a sizzling hot cast iron. I should've went with meat. Drinks were also just okay. I find the flavors not to layer well with the drinks or entrees. The service was fantastic which is why I am giving 3 stars. The waitress was observant and did just enough without being overbearing. However, I wouldn't come again.

In planning a celebratory dinner after my husband's Bachelor's graduation from SUNY Empire State, Black & Blue Steak+Crab's quasi fine dining came out on top out of the other restaurants in Albany, NY. Now we gotta have a conversation. B&B is put together with an over-flashy feel: blinding, ginormous 'Black & Blue' light sign outside, high ceilings, there's faux brick, plank laminate flooring, beams and these dramatic, mounted, round ceiling lamps over the hostess station hitting serious heights. Our 8:30 res. gave us enough time beforehand to chill at the bar with a cocktail while our table cleared. The back dining room is spacious and I was hoping we didn't sit on these booths. But.....we did. It's a matter of taste I guess. Moving right along. Our server Emily and her assistant Riley were sweethearts through and through. Between the crab 'fondue' with 2 carbs of a tasty popover and crisped up pita chips, my chopped salad with my request of balsamic+oil: the balsamic overpowered everything and auntie-in-law's Caesar, they were substantial. Our main plates were equally big. Hubs' Kansas City steak was cooked to a medium when he wanted a medium rare, antie-in-Lw's filet m. was cooked to her preference and my Cauliflower 'steak' was a mound of a glorious vegetable to look at- but again, the balsamic was obvious. Dessert, was great and the price tag was ok for all of our meals nonetheless. Drinks? Well... we had a crappy hand dealt to us with weak cocktails.

The restaurant itself is really beautiful. You walk in to a giant bar on the right and a "party" room on the left. The atmosphere is trendy and industrial. We got a drink before our reservation and the bartender was really great. But he seemed to be the only one really working super hard while others took much longer. This impacted service and frazzled him. Our server for our table was luke warm. Our seafood tower came out incorrectly and so did our streak temps. Not his fault but it impacted our meal. The food was good. Our bill came to over $500 for 4 people. Not bad for apps, dinner and drinks. I'd rather spend that at Yonno or Prime.

Black and blue is a keeper. The food is consistent and wait there for attentive. Don't miss the bread basket for something for everyone. This visit we had to ask for warm butter for the seafood tower, and it was not as plentiful or diverse as the last visit. Steaks are done perfectly very flavorful. I do find the rosemary a bit of an overkill, but that seems to be their signature. The Kansas City is quite flavorful, but and I think the fillet is superior. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and attentive and perceptive asking if we did not like something and he would bring something else. He was knowledgeable about the wine list as well. I made recommendations. They're definitely come back to this place for an overall experience. The only criticism in this time was we were in a back room and it was difficult and a party of 12 to talk. Crème brûlée delicious finisher with a thick crust.

The atmosphere here is so fun! Each room is decorated differently with an industrial spin. The service and waitstaff were fantastic. Very informative and helpful. They even went above and beyond with a dessert for the table to share, as we were celebrating multiple birthdays. And now to the food: the sides were fantastic;: mashed potatoes, asparagus and mushrooms. Our steaks were good although my husband's was overcooked and I honestly didn't think the price was worth it.

Service was fantastic. The food was also amazing. Make sure you make a reservation. They have table seating and bar seating. It also looks like they do events. They have alot of different drinks on their menu that all looked delicious.

Black & Blue seemed Torn & Tattered. Some rave about the swanky, bougie vibe, but we got seated in a grungy, run-down booth. In fact, multiple booths were. The vinyl seats featured ass tears and the yellowish cloth backrests were blackened. I've been in shittier dive bars with finer upholstery. For the prices, they should be able to afford a couple of bottles of stain removal and some furniture rehab. As for the food: Felt a bit skimped for the $ The 7 oz. steak w/ a dollop of butter = $50 and didn't include a side of mashed potatoes & corn, which was an additional $22. The $11 crème brûlée was good!

Rib eye with truffle butter. Weird cut for a rib eye.

Good apps, good steak, great staff and wine list.... 85 characters is a lot to describe food....

What is the current corkage fee?

Hi Amy, the corkage fee is $20, thank you!

Does this restaurant have a dress code?

Not really. Casual is fine but so is dressed up if you'd like. Not a cutoffs or tee shirt kind of place but definitely casual is fine.

Can you bring your own wine?

Yes, we have a $20 corkage fee!

The peach salmon was another standout, with the lemon-flavored rice adding a unique touch. And the Chocolate Cookie Skillet is an absolute must-have! First, your Brunch menu and food are excellent, when we finally got our food - after roughly an hour of waiting - I was instantly reminded of why Dove and Deer is great - bold flavors, excellent preparation, gorgeous plates all in a city that desperately needs it. Second, I really felt bad for the 3 people responsible for running an entire restaurant on a Sunday (two waiters and one person in the kitchen). They did their absolute best, were so kind and apologetic, but obviously completely stressed out and frazzled. Tables got up and left after waiting for someone to get back to them - and we almost did too. It's unfair to restaurant staff to put the burden of running an entire place on them. I get if someone called off and you're short staffed 1 or 2 people, but did everyone call off? Besides 3 people? Come on. You have a real opportunity to be a go to brunch destination, my advice is to staff appropriately and give it a real go or risk customers not getting to experience the greatness that is your food - and taking their dollars to someplace far more mediocre. The only reason this isn't a 2 star or 1 star review is because of how hard your staff tried, and how good your food is (when it finally shows up).

I deconstructed the Cosmo, which was a splash of peach and kettle one which was a three dollar of charge for an $18 drink. We had the back room for a large party (9)Servers staff were friendly and accommodating. I was surprised at how long it took too get seated. The seafood tower of lovely had asked for warm butter. The side dishes are all à la carte but the potatoes and the asparagus excellent. Mistakes were done as ordered just been prepared for price shock. I recommend the crème brûlée for dessert and the naughty Irishman coffee.. overall was a nice experience with attentive, weight, staff and creative and with a sense of humor! I personally cannot afford to go there except for very special occasions. A meal at Ruth's Chris feels like an event. There's so much anticipation. Yes, the prices are high but it seems that you get what you pay for. A wonderful meal with top notch service and ambiance. I did not find it pretentious. I was concerned that it might be. There is no dress code. While some dressed up, others were casually dressed. One man even showed up in a very wrinkled shirt and the staff treated him as well as any other guest. The wait staff is amazing. Our server was Valbon. He was gracious, helpful and very thorough in describing food preparation. My friend had a Porterhouse Steak prepared medium well done with just a bit of pink. It was a massive steak. He said it was prepared perfectly. Same for the mashed potatoes and asparagus. I don't eat much red meat. Valbon recommended the sea bass for me. It was remarkably tender. I enjoyed the sautéd vegetables, too. I was amazed that I finished my entire meal. My friend took part of his giant steak home and enjoyed it the next day. I asked for a light cocktail. A vodka-based Lemon Drop martini was recommended for me. It's a popular drink there. It was just right. Ruth's Chris is a chain. I know that some people frown on eating at restaurant chains because of quality concerns. But Ruth's Chris is fine dining and the food preparation is apparently held to high standards. Our meals were enjoyable. It was our first time trying this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. They added decorations on our table and also gave my wife a small cake and candle which was a nice gesture. Steak was great and service was excellent. It's an essential stop whenever I'm in Albany, striking that rare balance between upscale sophistication and genuinely warm hospitality. Under the leadership of Jaime Ortiz and Ken Kehn, the restaurant continues to deliver a consistently exceptional experience. We had a 6:30 p.m. reservation for five while celebrating a friend's 45th birthday. We arrived early to enjoy the outstanding happy hour offerings, including $11 well martinis, excellent deviled eggs, oysters, and duck wings. The next day, I reviewed the bar tab and noticed we had been charged $16 per martini instead of the happy hour price. Since we ordered several rounds, the difference was significant and also affected the gratuity, as we tipped 22 percent. To the restaurant's credit, when I returned and pointed out the mistake, the staff addressed it promptly and reimbursed us for most of the overcharge. 677 is a good choice if you're visiting for a celebratory steak dinner, a business meal, or cocktails at happy hour, every detail feels polished and thoughtfully executed. One standout is the Hanging Tomahawk for Two -- a dramatic 50-ounce prime cut, sliced tableside and paired with parmesan- and butter-breadcrumb-crusted fingerling potatoes. It's every bit as impressive as it sounds. What truly elevates the experience is the staff. They don't simply serve guests -- they anticipate needs before you even realize them. In an era when fine dining can sometimes feel formulaic, 677 Prime distinguishes itself through constant refinement and a commitment to making each visit better than the last. Easily one of the finest restaurants in Albany. One pro-tip: review your tab before paying.

A friend wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for Father's Day. He'd been talking about it for months…read more Why Father's Day? I'm not entirely sure. I think many fathers have an idea of how they'd like to spend their special day. This particular dad (divorced) loves bbq. So we went. An adult son came along, too. I was not prepared for the spectacle. The large parking lot on Wolf Road in Colonie was very full. There was a line of people waiting outside. Some were standing while others were seated on cushioned benches. The management had pitched a tent at the front entrance where staff took care of check-in. I'd gone online before arriving and placed our party of three on the restaurant chain's online "waitlist" system. It sent me a text message telling us what time to arrive. We were right on time. The staff checked us in and ushered us inside. We were seated at a table within about five minutes. The restaurant doesn't take reservations but its waitlist system was remarkably efficient. Kudos to the staff for making it seem effortless. There were hundreds of people dining at the restaurant and yet we were greeted by three or four staffers who took our orders, checked on us repeatedly and kept bringing us refills of those deliciously warm bread rolls. Since this is most definitely a family restaurant--there are large monitors on the walls playing goofy videos and a tablet on each table with video games--to keep both children and adults occupied. In keeping with the Western theme there are longhorn window decorations and heads of bison, antelope, billy goats and deer on the walls. Our drinks were served almost immediately. I ordered a mocktail called passion fruit sparkler just in case I needed to be the designated driver. The entrees took a bit more time. With so many people to serve, we just had to be patient. So I played the games on the tablet. The server eventually arrived with my order of the beef tips in mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and cooked vegetables. The meal was hot and delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals. We were stuffed. I took half of my meal home. Who knew that Father's Day at the Texas Road House was a cultural event? A phenomenon of sorts. I'm still amazed how the staff made everything work so smoothly. With so many families to feed it could have ended up disastrous but it turned out to be just the opposite. My friend had a great day which was made even better when his son surprised us all by insisting on paying for the entire meal. Thanks Texas Road House.

The problem with these National chains is they hire the cheapest help they can get in the kitchen, not experienced cooks. As I was walking out the door I realized my waitress never even brought the peanuts lol. Well at least the rolls were good!

It's actually a fairly brief menu which I prefer. Appetizers : New England clam chowder for herself and a shrimp cocktail with 4 very large shrimp for myself. Entrees : A ravioli dish for my wife and a NY strip steak - medium rare of course for me. Both meals were 1st rate. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, almost too attentive probably due to my movie star good looks and charming personality. We passed on dessert and asked for the check. $98 and change. While the food was good we've had equally as good food at other places for less money, $120 with tip. I doubt we will be back.

We have stayed in Albany at the same hotel for several years and have gotten familiar with some of the restaurants in the immediate area. We ventured a couple miles away from our hotel on Wolf Road to try Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse this year. We had a reservation for8 and were seated promptly. The decor was a bit dated, but nothing to complain about. The service was good and everyone but myself got Italian pasta dishes and all said the same thing "it was ok". Seeing as the name of the place is a cut of steak, I decided to go with the Delmonico signature steak, cooked medium rare. The cut of steak I received would embarrass me if I tried serving it to a friend. The amount of edible meat was no larger than a credit card, the rest fat and grizzle. It was tough to tell if the cook temp was as requested because there wasn't enough edible to tell. When our waitress came to see if we needed to-go boxes, she knew enough not to bother with me, as there was just a plate of junk left. Luckily, without me even asking, she took my steak off the bill, which was really nice because I wasn't going to make a big stink and complain. She just knew the steak was not up to par. It's tuff to criticize this restaurant because all the other guests were satisfied, but not wowed, however, ordering the signature dish and having it be absolutely disappointing is unforgivable.

My wife and I had dinner with another couple last week at The LongHorn Steakhouse in albany. (We live in Long Island, NY.) This was my first visit to this location and I could not have enjoyed the evening more. Our friends told us that they get busy quickly in the evening so we arrived at 6:00PM to a very warm welcome and were seated immediately. I knew that this was gong to be a good experience just from the way it started. We had to be out by 7:30 for a meeting so time was crucial/ Our very efficient server, came right over to our table and take a drink orders. She then delivered the drinks with menus and bread and asked us if we had any questions. We just wanted to sit and speak for a few minutes and enjoy our surroundings. This restaurant is a very comfortable spot where noise was not a problem even as they were filled to capacity. We all started with salads which were cool, crisp and tasty. The dinners we order included these two items: Flo's Filet®. This iconic cut has been here since opening in 1981. A very tender center cut is coated with signature Grill Seasoning and seared to lock in the classic buttery flavor. - You knew everyone enjoyed this Just from the expressions on everyone's face. They had a wide variety of sides with the main meal and most of us went with a salad and potato or greens. Chop Steak*. A 10 oz. of fresh ground beef loaded with roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions, smothered with savory garlic herb sauce. - This was my selection. I love a good chop steak and find fewer and fewer restaurants offering it. I usually have to go with a large hamburger. This was a welcome choice and really [really] good. Overall, we were all VERY HAPPY to have come here and we all truly enjoyed ourselves. We look forward to visiting a LongHorn not far from where we live. On a personal note... I DO NOT understand the one star reviews. These are not regular Yelp users as shown by the fact that they have no friends, no pictures and either one or two reviews. DO NOT pay attention to them. People are definitely entitled to their opinions but these clearly do not reflect the views of all the people who have been here. KUDOs to the team at LongHorn Steakhouse!

The Roosevelt Room in Troy was a great experience from start to finish. I was honestly expecting a standalone building, but it is tucked into a strip mall near HVCC. That said, parking was easy and stress free, which is always a plus. This was our first visit as a party of four, and the service was superb. The attention to detail really stood out and was noticed immediately. Our waitress checked in at the right times, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything came out exactly as expected. Meals are made to order, so substitutions were no issue at all, and it was nice to see gluten free options available. When you walk in, you pass through a curtain and are immediately greeted by a coat attendant who takes your coats, which instantly gives the place an upscale feel. The ambiance is well done, with soft lighting and nice background music. It is on the smaller side and dimly lit, but that is clearly intentional. The menus actually light up, which was a unique and thoughtful touch that fits the atmosphere perfectly. We had reservations and were seated right away. It did not seem necessary on this particular evening, but I would definitely recommend them on a weekend given the size of the space. The food itself was excellent. Everything we ordered was very tasty, and the presentation across the board was impressive. Desserts are prepared by a pastry chef and were just as good as the rest of the meal. It is definitely on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for the level of service and atmosphere. This feels like a special occasion type of place, and in that context, it is worth every penny. We really enjoyed our night and would absolutely come back. There was also a sign mentioning live jazz on Fridays, which sounds like a great added touch. Overall, a very strong 5 stars.

The Blackberry Basil drink was also delicious, which says something as I'm a picky cocktail drinker! I ordered the bucatini which was flavorful with specialty mushrooms and whipped feta. This restaurant has a lot of things going for it which appeal to me. They do need to clean up their web information, and with that, the associated Yelp information. Both list the weeknight opening time as 5pm, and yet in different spots, they list a weekday happy hour starting at 4pm. Other snippets of conversation I overheard imply they have to make a few other menu updates. But as per my review, that didn't adversely affect my opinion of the place at all. We did, in fact, show up during the "happy hour period prior to 5pm," and we sat at the bar for drinks, for happy hour foods, and for our dinners. The happy hour menu is vague for cocktails... "well crafted cocktails" will be discounted, but you really have to ask which ones get the discount or not. We were content to order some of their regularly crafted cocktails. We were inundated with menus as well, one of which we got by mentioning it was our first visit there. That had two of immediate interest, the lobster and scallop crusted salmon, and the quail. I had never had quail, so of course I had to try it, and it was delicious (as was the salmon, which I also got to sample). I can't comment on table service, since we sat at the bar for the entire evening, but that was quite enjoyable... friendly service, made to feel welcome immediately, great conversation among staff and patrons. I look forward to exploring more of their offerings on future visits.
