We come to Outback Steakhouse often and are not disappointed. We went last evening, on a Thursday around 5:30 pm. We ordered the sampler platter blooming onion, and mac and cheese bites. Perfect. Four mini carafes of Moscato. Honestly, a bottle would have been cheaper as the carafes came to $36. That was our fault though. A sirloin and a ribeye was the entree we chose. My sirloin was cooked perfect, a medium well, and my fiances ribeye was a tad more rare then he preferred but he still enjoyed it. Our waitress Cassandra was excellent. Very focused on both of our needs, efficient, and friendly. Could not have asked for a better server. read more

If I could, I would give this place zero stars. My husband and I came in to try this place because my in law's gave us a gift card to celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary. To be completely honest, we hadn't actually been to Outback in years. We arrived at the place super early for dinner--5:30pm. We were seated straight away and asked our drink order and received our iced teas pretty much right away. So far so good, right? But since we hadn't been there in years, we wanted to take a bit of time to look over the menu to decide what to eat.... this is where things started to go south. Pretty much every 2 minutes passed, the waitress (I don't remember her name but she had dyed red hair) asked us if we were ready to order. Since it's a big menu, we took maybe 10 minutes to decide, max. But every 2 minutes on the dot, she asked us if we had decided yet (increasingly looking more and more annoyed). I mean, it wasn't like they needed more tables just then because the place was not packed or anything... and it was 5:40 at that point. We order and the food isn't that great. My burger was cooked from a frozen patty and my husband's chicken was dry. But, the entire meal, the waitress was no where to be seen... which was weird since she seemed eager before (if a little annoyed at us)? As we were about finished eating our meal, she gave us our ticket. Since we were there with a gift card we were thinking about getting dessert but since it seemed she was rushing us out (Probably 6:30 at this point and still a crap ton of tables still open), we decided to just pay and leave without using the gift card (since the whole meal was less than the amount on the gift card). We ended up going to Carrabba's with the gift card a few weeks later to celebrate our anniversary instead---much better experience there. So, maybe she was just ending her shift and someone sat us at her section and she was pissed? Or maybe it was past her break time? Or perhaps she was just having a crap day and took it out on us? Regardless of the reason, it felt super rude and will prevent us from ever going back. -EDIT- I see Outback has responded asking me to email them directly. I appreciate your willingness to try to correct any grievances I have had. I'm sorry to say that no matter how many coupons or anything else you would offer will make me want to ever go back. And this isn't a personal vendetta against your company as I'm more than willing to go to your other chains owned by the same company. Maybe have a talk with your staff to retrain customer service and have a nice day. read more

So it wasn't that the food wasn't good, the service was TERRIBLE. Called ahead for seating at 6p and they told me to show up at 6:45p. We didn't get sat at our table until 7:30p. So then after that we ordered our food at around 8p, and it didn't arrive for another 45 minutes. We spent 3 hours at the restaurant after calling ahead for a table. The food was mediocre at best as were the less than strong drinks I ordered. Not only that but the hostess was so rude it made we want to leave, and when she sat us at our table it was worse. She knocked my phone on the ground and barely apologized. Won't be back here for awhile. read more

We come here frequently and are always happy. It is a very popular restaurant in a very busy location. Really the only issue we have ever had was service being a tad slow. But again it's a popping place The grill is usually spot on accurate making it a good value for the steaks. Tonight I am only giving four stars because there was a host walking around with a sample tray all evening. He was hawking everything from lemonade to soup. Outback is a solid steakhouse, but nothing spectacular. For an appetizer I ordered the bloomin onion and it was delicious. It is easily the best thing on the menu. The coating was crispy and seasoned, the onions were fresh and cooked perfectly. The dipping sauce is flavorful and brings it all together. For dinner I ordered the outback signature sirloin with shrimp. The steak was flavorful, but a little tough. The shrimp was seasoned well, but it was a little overcooked. My two sides were a loaded baked potato and Mac and cheese. The baked potato was good, the cheese and bacon helped the overall taste. The Mac and cheese was delicious. It was cheesy with some spice and the breadcrumbs added a nice crunch. The main problem is the price this meal cost me $30, the food was good, but not great. Overall, Outback is a solid restaurant, but a bit expensive. read more

This is a little humbling, but, well, I don't hate the Outback. My boyfriend's mother keeps receiving gift certificates to chain restaurants. She won't use them so she gives them to us. While we are (somewhat shamefully) normally foodie snobs who disdain chain restaurants, we're certainly not going to pass up free food. This time around, it was the Outback, which I've always thought was the cheesiest place around. The fake Aussie names are extremely silly, although my boyfriend and I had a fun time using obnoxious fake Australian accents for the rest of the day. And even better, the toilets flush counter-clockwise! Ok, I made that part up. The food isn't great, although I'm told the Bloomin' Onions are quite good. My boy's burger was built upside down - I'm assuming that was meant to go along with the Down Under theme. However, this made the bottom bun very soggy and it fell apart. Despite my instinct to avoid fish in chain restaurants, I went with a grilled mahi mahi filet served with a mango salsa. Actually, it was better than what I expected. But what Outback really does nail is their service. Our service there was far better than the service I've gotten at most restaurants. I'm on a gluten-free diet and Outback actually has it's own GF menu. And there were extremely accomodating. I substituted a sweet potato for the gluten-containing rice pilaf, and wasn't forced to pay extra. When my dish was accidentally given the pilaf instead, a manager quickly came over to explain that a new dish was being prepared for me. And..... they served me my own little loaf of gluten-free bread that tasted far better than most of the hard-as-a-brick loaves I get from health food stores. Yup, This rating is totally punitive. They totally screwed us on the estimated wait time stating 30-45 minutes when we arrived. After waiting on hour I checked our status and was told there were 13 ahead of us and it would be another 45 min to an hour wait. They claimed it was a 'misunderstanding' by the list taker staff member. Screw that. We left and went elsewhere. I understand the estimated wait is an estimate and there is some variation to be expected but being off that much is unacceptable. They were busy enough for a wait list so us leaving makes no impact on their bottom line. But this experience means we will not be returning when they might be less busy. There are a few other steak places we can go in the area and we will be putting Outback and the very bottom of the list. read more

Let me start by saying, I really dislike Outback and have for some time. If it were up to me we never would have stepped foot in the door. But when celebrating someone's birthday you have to let them chose, especially when it's a kid. With that in mind, this wasn't the worst visit I have had. The floors are usually so greasy that walking to your table feels like walking on ice. This time there were actually patches of space that were not so bad, almost acceptable. Normally we wait for a table, even when they are not full, but tonight the staff had their act together and we were seated promptly. Then they decided to keep up with their old habits. Bread offered to the table, absolutely cold. And they forgot the butter. Yes, there's a little holder for the cup that holds the butter, but somehow someone brought it to a table without noticing they had no butter. My wife wanted shrimp as an appetizer, she ordered the plate for two. The shrimp were tiny, served with a mayo based sauce, and were just awful. For a dollar more I could have had the Purple Haze Shrimp that I genuinely love at the New World Bistro. I do not know how they come up with this price for what they served. My wife had a salad. She ordered with the gluten free ranch dressing. The salad was delivered with no dressing and it was obvious as the waiter was placing the bowl on the table. As my wife pointed it out the waiter affirmed the gluten free dressing was on the salad, it was just under some of the stuff placed on top. My wife actually believed him and let him walk away... there was no dressing on the salad at all. Five minutes later we called the waiter over and asked for dressing and he had the nerve to act surprised. As if he really wanted us to believe he checked personally. I really dislike being misled. Everyone at the table had an Outback Special, but I had to stay away. I get downright angry when eating a steak at the Outback and I know it. There is no point in ordering one, I have had such poor experiences that I refuse to give it the benefit of the doubt. Instead I had the Shrimp En Fuego Fettuccine. The sauce was still fairly bland, not exactly up to what I would call spicy, but I guess it has more spice than 90% of the things on the menu. The thing that struck me the most, the shrimp was so over cooked it was starting to break up. If you have ever seen a hotdog split when it is overcooked - these shrimp were starting to do that. Needless to say, I was not impressed. So, why two stars. I have been asking myself that since about halfway through this review. I guess I was happy they have finally started addressing some of the problems I have complained to management about, they are at least trying to make improvements. They have also put together a really long list of gluten free items, even if some of them are nothing more than normal menu items with instruction to avoid the bun. And the gluten free version of the Thunder From Down Under was really pretty good. Probably the best thing on the table all night. read more

First time was the last time for me today. Host did his job as far as being friendly and offering me, the lady and daughter a booth,, but it was all downhill from there. The floors were a skating rink of residual grease. Sliding on them for my daughter would provide the only smile of my visit. Five minutes pass before we have a server take our order, not a good start. We gave her the entire order on the spot just to speed things up. We get the beverages in about another five minutes and the appetizer for my girl arrives in another 15-20. Then we waited, and waited some more. The table behind us made a comment about still not receiving their food and being there for over an hour. Seeing that we had ordered so quickly and had been there for 35-40 minutes at this point, the food most be coming any minute. Our waitress comes over and informs all of us that the food should be ready real soon. Different tables around the restaurant are finally getting food brought to them so that was a sign of encouragement, unfortunately it was a false sign. Twenty minutes later, a kitchen staff member informs us that it will be another 15 minutes for mashed potatoes for the meals we still haven't received,, and that was all i could take. Hit the road and hit McDonald's instead. Wasn't what i envisioned for lunch, but it was $40 cheaper and purpose serving enough. read more

Exquisite experience! With an estimated 10min wait for a main dining area table, we hungrily went straight to a dirty empty table at the bar and Paul, our bar-tender/server, promptly came to clear the table and tend to us. Hot honey wheat bread and butter came out almost immediately. I love me some hot honey wheat bread. The huckleberry hooch moonshine cocktail was a lovely blend of expertly muddled fruit and juices, but didn't taste like there was any alcohol. Paul was kindly receptive to the feedback and removed the drink from my bill. I ordered my steak to have a strong sear on the outside and be bloooooody rare on the inside. My Outback Special Sirloin arrived medium rare (not quite my specifications), but was delicious nonetheless - juicy and tender with great seasoning. The sweet potato came with brown sugar with melted butter oozing perfectly down the sides for that extra yum factor. The food here is delightful, but perhaps even more impressive is the kind, friendly service. We walked into this disgusting place only to be blasted with an odor similar to the dumpster behind a fast food restaurant. Despite the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty, we were given a pager and told to wait 15 minutes. After 20 minutes of watching various employees socialize with each other, the pager went off and we were seated in an empty section. When I asked the server why it took so long to be seated, she turned to the person I was with and started to explain that in order to provide the best service they need enough staff blah blah blah. Sit me at a table and give me a drink or something, not in the foul smelling lobby with employees that can't be bothered to serve me, but have plenty of time socialize in front of customers. And when I ask you a question, answer me not the person I am with. It's clear from the smell to the attitude of the employees that no one here cares. You would be very smart to move on to another place or find the next outback if you have to have it. We walked out without eating. read more

So it's a chain. The sky did not fall when we walked in. Many have commented on the food, so I can't add much. The basic sirloin steak was pretty good and cooked well done as requested without becoming a brick. The potato soup had a decent flavor. I imagine this is true at all Outbacks, but I did find the Wednesday night specials a good deal. For a selection of meals, you get a dessert as well. Who knew they have desserts? Actually, I knew but never had had room. When it comes with the meal, I did what I had to do: get a take-out box and eat it later. The choices were carrot cake or cheesecake. The cheesecake with chocolate sauce made a nice snack a couple of hours later. You might want to give the Wednesday night special a try. Lest I forget, let me say that service was friendly, efficient, and speedy enough - no complaints on that count. read more

This place was a little lower on my rank compared to other Outback's I have ate at. I had the Filet Mignon w Steamed Broccoli and a salad. All 3 were average and the Filet was a little to fatty for me. The Bartender / Waitress was very nice I ate at the bar and the only complaint was the smell of stale / old beer that seemed liked it came from behind the bar I mentioned it to the bartender and she offered to move me to a different spot immediately. read more

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. We waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. It came and we had to send pack half of everyone's meal as it was cold or not cooked. So by the time they came back with properly cooked food we where almost finished with the other half of our meals. It did not help that we where seated near a group with Apx 7 kids. Whose parents and grandparents sat separate from the kids. This was not the restaurants fault but mad the very long wait more painful. The waiter had to be tracked down as well and no effort to discount our meal for serving us uncooked meal or cold food. I always loved going to Outback and always get a great service except tonight. The waitress didn't really give a crap about me and my boyfriend. I understand that on Saturday night it gets a little busy in every place but if you have a time to talk to some other people for atleast good 10 mins maybe you could make sure that orders are ready or something. We live close by this Outback and it is the best I've ever been to. The management and wait staff are super professional, prompt and polite. Last time I was there, it was my wife's birthday and they brought out a special dessert for her and a card for a free appetizer next time we're there. The steak and seafood is always perfectly cooked and we have a favorite server, Brittany who is the best. Having dinner at this Outback is a guaranteed good mood for both of us. Ah! Outback Steakhouse! A fine establishment with a long track record of tasty food. My girlfriend and I went "free-styling" on Friday night. For those of you who have never seen American Pickers, "Free-styling" is when you go looking for something with no particular destination or stated objective in mind. We literally went EVERYWHERE looking for something to eat. We went to at least 3 other restaurants where either the wait was way too long, or the service was complete garbage. Outback is not usually at the top of our list because the Bloomin' Onion is something that is not in either of our diets. It tastes too good to be legal, and we could both kill on in short order. More on that later. We were both having a traumatic day before we started this adventure - and while traveling around, we managed to see everything from Albany's usual annoying Friday night traffic, to a guy that wasn't looking and ran over a family of ducks. By the time we rolled into The Outback, we were sad and had out 1,000 yard stares in full force. Upon arriving at The Outback, we noticed there was a line forming and that there was going to be a wait. It was at that moment that it hit me... I remembered that my late Grandfather and I would eat here a lot, and that he, like me, could not suffer fools in a line - and would sit in the booths by the bar. I walked over to the booths along the opposing side of the bar and wouldn't you know it - there was a BOOTH! We promptly sat down. The gentleman working the bar came over and took drink orders. My girlfriend and co-conspirator ordered something tasty. I Don't remember what it was. I ordered a Manhattan with whiskey, top shelf. It hit the spot after everything that happened that day. The server finally came over, gave us some menus, and she was quite chipper and helpful. We ordered food. I got the steak salad with ginger dressing. It normally comes with Bleu Cheese Vinaigrette - which is a little too busy for my liking. Lost of tastes and it has a weird finish. The ginger, however, is the best for that salad by far! So, what started as an absolutely awful day was made much better by tasty foo, excellent service and a good stiff drink! 5 start for sure! read more

I ate here 1st time this past wkd. At first it seemed like a nice place. The Employees for the most part were kind. We ordered Grilled Prime Rib cooked Medium. It is described in the menu as being cooked to almost done having a little pink inside. Had to have them take my steak back 3 times before it was cooked properly and when we spoke to our waiter concerning how our Steak was supposed to have been cooked and how it is described in the Menu. He became very rude and tried to tell us we were wrong. To which point we even looked it up on the web for what a Medium cooked steak was to be cooked. Our steaks were almost bleeding! I understand ppl can get ur order wrong or make a mistake. But to be rude and tell the Customer they are Wrong... I will never Eat there again and if ur looking for a better experience I recommend the Barn Sider. A little on the Pricey side but oh so worth it!!!! read more

I tried three times to order delivery from this place and the employee that took the order stated that my card declined to find out later it was charged and management did a poor job of reassurance that I would be reimbursed in a timely fashion. They want the money before delivery but can't reimburse or find their mistake when it's on your card. Not professional and will not be recommending this take out to anyone any more. read more

I have eaten at this Outback Steak House a total of three times, and have been disappointed every time. This surprises me, because I have always considered Outback to be a pretty safe place to eat, no matter what city you are in. Because I travel as much as I do, it's always been a predictable favorite for me, no matter which city I wind up in for the night. The service wasn't too bad (my drink came very quickly); the wait staff is pretty attentive. This is not a surprise, as they have a pretty decent chance of getting some good tips. However, my biggest complaint is the food. I always order the same thing: Victoria's Filet, with loaded baked potato and cesar salad. The first and second trip here, the Filet was a huge disappointment, because it was very undercooked. I mean, it was still mooing when it was served to me. The third time I came here, the Filet was cooked perfectly BUT- there was so much fat that I had to return it. I also had an issue with my salad, which was warm and had to be exchanged for a new one. After eating mounds of bread and other goodies, and then having to wait for a new steak, you begin to fill up, and it gets frustrating. Steak is always best eaten when you're hungry. Outback is usually pretty good about making it up to you when your order doesn't come out properly. This Outback didn't offer me even so much as an appetizer or extra drink while I was waiting. Again, this is usually a safe, predictable chain, but it just doesn't seem to be cutting it here. Maybe things will be better in the future, who knows... read more

I haven't eaten at Outback since I lived in New Jersey Years ago. I always remember it being good. This time was not so great. Our service was not great at all. We got two lunch specials and mac n cheese for my daughter. I asked my server for no croutons on my salad, I got croutons on my salad. My husband ordered a well done burger and got a medium burger. When I asked the server (who's name I could mention) to fix it she blamed us and said he ordered a medium burger? This was terrible service! Didn't ask for a name and as other parties started to arrive, the original hostess had been replaced and nobody knew who should be seated next. Not a huge deal, it was still timely just a bit unorganized. Our waiter was friendly and for the most part attentive. Food, however, tasted like it was all soaked in salt before cooking. All the steaks and even the seafood. The steaks were cooked perfectly, just couldn't eat more than a few bites because the saltiness was more than overbearing. Thus we crossed Wolf Rd to Outback, where we we greater with a warm welcome and quickly seated. Our waitress, Sam, was fantastic and the food totally enjoyable. Our selection of the rib eye, salad and baked potato was excellent. The steak was served medium rare as requested and the baked potato was perfectly cooked. The salad was fresh and the dressing, on the side,a perfect complement. In addition, our AARP reduced the price, and we moved a level in our club. read more
