Time for an update! I had a decent experience on Father's Day weekend at the Cordova location. I was able to be seated within 10 mins (or less) of the hostess asking for my name. Our waiter JaKelby was great. He was attentive, polite, and was ready to take our orders not long after my parents arrived. Salads were good, not too bad for salads, but the main attractions were the entrees. We ordered the Delmonico ribeye, salmon, and the Rockhampton ribeye with broccoli, a rather small sweet potato, and loaded baked potatoes. We all agreed the entrees were really good, correct orders, food temperature was correct as well as the temperature for the steaks. I deducted a star for the temperature of the restaurant( a bit warm) and the constant swatting away of a fly/flies. It gets irritating to not be able to enjoy eating without swatting at a fly on top of it being warm in the restaurant. My father commented that the air must be out or something because it is usually cold ( they frequent this location monthly). Overall, my father enjoyed his Father's Day meal and that is all I wanted! While the prices are a bit heavier handed than they used to be the portions are amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful, and food tastes great. Our server Ms. Jayla was on point and super attentive to our table the whole time making the experience so worth it even with her having to inform of anything that may have been missing! Yesterday I had the pleasure n blessings to eat a wonderful meal for Veterans Day. I was out and about early doing my walk first then a couple of errands n got to outback at opening, 11am. I joked with the young guy that opened the doors, saying "I bet you had nightmares about this day"! We both, Lol. From there I was seated. My server was a young lady named Hope. Right away I could tell she wasn't flustered at all the ppl starting to arrive. She was so so nice n smiling. And once she laughed, omg. I couldn't stop praising her attitude. Wonderful. Everyone seemed to be in the right head space for this specific day. I did 35yrs plus in this industry so I know how these special days can trigger different reactions? My meal I ordered was perfect. We came to try and get the shark drink but sadly missed it. I got the Fresh Seasonal Veggie and this time it was broccoli. I LOVED it. It had a really nice flavor from whatever sauce they added to it. The Fresh Mixed Veggies were the opposite though. Whatever sauce or flavoring they used on that one was not great or just didn't work for those veggies. In general I seem to like the ribs here so I will probably get meals with those or stick to the Alice Springs Chicken. AMBIANCE: This was a pick-up order after a long drive moving back to Tennessee!!! In short, it didn't look much different from the typical outback chains that you see. FOOD: I hope that things are a little better dining in, but I had some struggles with my order. I ordered the blooming onion and a blooming burger. The blooming onion didn't have much crisp to it, and I would just blame it on the packaging. The flavor was there, but the texture was a miss. The burger was super soggy, and the meat barely looked like a patty. It almost looked like a scattered type of meat patty, and it was SALTY. It was very unfortunate since the burger tasted like it could have really been delicious due to the blooming onion and sauce. read more

My server was a nice young man named Brandon. I went for dinner on a Sunday, and I was promptly seated. I ordered the T-bone steak with mashed potatoes and a side of mixed veggies. My steak is medium well and tender. I have never ordered a T-bone before because of the sizes but I did today. I'm glad I did. The potatoes didn't have much flavor but I ate them as is. The strawberry margarita was really good. Brandon came by the table on each pass to make sure I had what I needed. I left him a nice tip. Outback is like most restaurants. My family came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate a birthday. It was a pleasant experience. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our drinks were brought in a timely manner and we were made aware of any outages or delays politely. My family ordered steak, which is the obvious choice and they were thoroughly pleased. I ordered some seasonal items; the Gingerbread Cookie Martini and Spicy Jammin Meatloaf, which were good. Just moved here about 2 weeks ago from Alabama, Our waitress NEDDA was very rude. No customer service skills at all. We sat down and was greeted by our waitress that's the only thing she did right. She acted as if she didn't want to be there. When our food came, it was very bland and when we mentioned it to her, she made a face and did not care to fix it. After speaking with the manager, she came back to our table and accused us of having fake id's but this was AFTER she served our drinks to us. We tried to explain to her that since we are from out of state, our ID's may look different and she still did not care to hear what we had to say, nor did she apologize. I am eating here twice while in Memphis on business. I did not feel like looking around for a non chain steak house since I was busy and here for a short time. Outback in general is pretty good for a chain. They cook the steak as you order it and the quality of the meat really is not that bad. I also get a couple glasses of Apothic Red which is not bad for a cheaper house kind of wine. The wedge salad here is actually quite good and beats some non chain places. The bottom line is that Outback does not have the highest quality of meat but it is serviceable and quite acceptable in a pinch. I will continue eating her when I am by myself and do not really feel like scouting out the area. read more
