Over the years, we have had great fine-dining experiences at The Capital Grille. Besides being one of our favorite steak places, their Wagyu & Wine promotion is something we will not miss. This time (March 2026), the promotion featured a Wagyu burger, prepared three ways and paired with any of three Orin Swift Wines. I kept seeing ads on FB regarding their Waygu and Wine. For 1 burger and a glass of wine it's $35 pp. great deal We were greeted with valet opening our door to the restaurant. And was able to get sit quickly. Our servers was amazing. She knew her stuff and was super friendly. Sticking to the Waygu and Wine course. I got the Waygu blue cheese & black truffle paired with Pinot Noir. My partner got the Waygu mushroom & Swiss paired with Pinot Noir too. Both burgers were made medium well. I wasn't a fan of the blue cheese and black truffle burger but the wine was amazing. A decent pour for a good price. I would recommend this place. read more

My girlfriend and I celebrated our second anniversary here and the food and service was outstanding. I can't recommend it enough. They even gave us a handwritten card and set the table for us before we set down as well as giving us free desert with "Happy Anniversary" written in cocoa on the plate. What an experience! Me and my bestfriend stopped by for Happy Hour yesterday or should I say Capital Hour .We sat in the bar area and Ingram was our server, Ingram customer service was out of this world, I manage a restaurant and would love to have Ingram as one of my servers or managers at any time! He took great care of us, he made a happy hour more of an evening experience. We also spoke with the manager Dakota who also was great and checked on us about three times through out our visit. I was the guest of honor at a dinner here in Feb 2026. I chose the restaurant in December, and waited with anticipation for a fine dinner. I ordered a medium filet crusted in pepper (which the waiter said they could accomplish). Everyone received their meal as ordered. Mine came without the pepper. 1st mistake. They added the pepper, but the steak came out well-done. 2nd mistake. They said they would comp the steak, but they would have to start another. 30 minutes later, and everyone at the table was finished with their meal and I hadn't received my remake. So now I feel terrible for everyone else at the table. When my filet was eventually brought out, it was rare. 3rd mistake. They put my steak back on the grill and I then received a medium rare steak (which the waitress confirmed). 4th mistake. Remember I asked for medium. Since it was 45 minutes past everyone receiving their food, I asked for my food to be boxed. I didn't get to eat at my celebration dinner. At home, I tried to resurrect my twice bisected steak pieces (they made me cut it to show them the color). The quality of the remake was poor. Silver skin (no photo) and excessive connective tissue. It looks like the very ends of the tenderloin--which skilled butcher would've handled. The quality control on the raw steak should have been better. So, my night at Capital Grille was terrible. I barely ate anything in the restaurant, left feeling disappointed in the food, and guilty in front of my family for just wanting what I ordered. Definitely a poor night. read more

We have come here for various celebrations, including our anniversary the last two years. The food is always excellent, as is the service. Lincoln was our server tonight and he did not disappoint. He was knowledgeable and helpful and didn't recommend the most expensive items...his recommendations were based on what we said our preferences were and/or his favorite items on the menu. The place to go for the full steakhouse experience! My experience at Capital Grille lived up to the reputation of the establishment. We didn't have a reservation because it was early for dinner and we knew we wanted to sit at the bar. We entered from the brightness of the day outside in the dark and sultry interior of the restaurant. We were greeted and ushered to the bar area where we chose our own seats. Our bartender introduced himself, provided us with menus, and informed us of the specials of the day. We told him we were on a mission to find a great burger and we had come specifically for the burger specials. He explained the options to us and helped us make drink selections to pair with our choices. I chose the Wagyu Cheeseburger with no bun, fries, and a Pinot Noir and my husband got the bleu cheese and black truffle burger with fries. Our orders arrived promptly and looked delicious! Each burger was cooked to our exact specifications, mine being medium and my husband's medium rare. You could see the difference on the inside color once we had taken a few bites. The fries were also great. Steakhouse fries are some of the most underrated menu items. They're always a step above. We ate there last night. I've eaten at TCG in NYC 2x and Dallas 2x. Those are phenomenal. This one would come in 3rd between those. The experience and service was 5 star, but the 22 oz bone-in ribeye was not as good as the others. Not seasoned as thoroughly as the others but still melt in your mouth. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time last night, and we had Lisa as our waitress. She was phenomenal, she helped us choose what to order, gave recommendations on wine and constantly made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, however I had wanted my strip cooked slightly more, Lisa insisted she take it back and fix it for me. She was so sweet and kind, the restaurant itself was beautiful and elegant. I forgot what it was like to have an ultimate dining experience in Memphis, until we ate here. It's been over a decade since I can say I've experienced this level of hospitality in Memphis. The ribeyes, filet, and tuna were cooked so perfectly, even better than if id done it myself! Carleigh was a master of the art of making us all feel welcome and cared for. No glass ever got close to empty and I was just genuinely satisfied. In Memphis it is odd to not be a burden to the wait staff, or made to feel less than welcome. Not here! A group of 10 colleagues and I decided to go to The Capital Grille for a team lunch the other day but didn't have reservations. I expected them to not be able to get us in, but they made some quick arrangements within one of their rooms and it was great! I always think it being a place for a heavy dinner (steak and potatoes). When I went for lunch the other day for a team luncheon, I was happy to see that they had a lunch specific menu with a few lighter options. When arriving to The Capital Grill with 10 colleagues and no reservation, I was surprised that they were so willing to rearrange things and find a space for our large group to dine. They seated us in a private room and quickly set it up so that we could all connect and it ensured it was a very nice environment for us. I was also pleased to see that they had a lunch specific menu as I was worried it would be too heavy of a meal for lunch and wouldn't be great for a during work outing. While everyone's order looked great and was thoroughly enjoyed, I would absolutely order my same meal again - it was much better than I could've pictured. Our meal started off with drinks (we ordered sparkling water), a bread basket (served with salted butter), and then we decided to order. I selected the Roasted Chicken Breast plate which came with mushroom and parmesan risotto as well as a caesar salad. Our table also ordered a few orders of the truffle fries to share. The chicken cut so easily that I could've used just my fork or a butter knife and the risotto was rich and flavorful. The fries were perfectly cooked and also seasoned well. I forgot how good your shrimp appetizers really are but so glad I got it instead of skipping. The filet was cooked perfectly and was so juicy it was like butter! I was very disappointed with the service last night at Capital Grille. When we walked in it was a horrible smell but the waiter informed my guest and I that it was a strong Scott someone was drinking at the next table over. The waiter seemed friendly at first he came and gave us the menu and asked for our drink order. After that, we order 3 appetizers and the Steak Tartare wasn't our favorite. We asked if we could switch it out with a different selection. He then got mad or had some sort of attitude. Our dirty plates were left on our table for an extreme amount of time, while he constantly walked back and forth past us and didn't say a word. I was finally able to enjoy dinner at The Capital Grille this week. I was with a large group of about 25 and we had the private room reserved. The private dining area was nice. The group was split into tables of 5. Appetizers were placed on tables immediately upon arrival and the servers were very friendly and attentive. The minute I walked in someone asked if they could get me something to drink. (Drinks were pretty good, by the way) Everyone was crazy about the pan-fried calamari and I thought the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella was pretty tasty! The field greens salad was great due to the amazing taste of the parmesan vinaigrette. (I ate every bite of this) My entrée choice was the 10oz filet. We shared the sides which were mashed potatoes (excellent) and asparagus. I ordered my steak medium, but unfortunately it was over-cooked. :( Overall however, it was a great dining experience and the staff was top-notch. I felt that they did an amazing job when it came to handling a large group, which is why I decided to stick with five stars. They were prompt and courteous and deserve recognition. I must say that we really had a five-star experience here! We decided to celebrate our anniversary (this was our first time visiting) and I am glad we did. From the greeting we received upon arrival to the delightful dessert we indulged in at the end was all spectacular. For starters, they gave us 5 different breads. They all were delicious. The butter complimented them even more. You can tell that the bread was freshly baked. My entree was the Salmon served on a bed of asparagus. Everything was delicious. even when I warm up the salmon the next day, it was still fresh and juicy. I also had the lobster macaroni and cheese...OMG, amazing. My husband had the lamb chops (of course I ate some of his too, lol) and they were soooo tender and plentiful as well. For his side, he had the sautéed spinach. It was really good as well. I loved the small touches they added to make our night special. I loved the personalized card, the fresh rose, the confetti, and the Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on our dessert plate. The champagne was amazing as well, probably some of the best I have tasted. When you go be sure to try the cheesecake. It is light, fluffy, and simply delicious! Our server was James and he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, being sure to mention if something might be too smokey, too peppery, etc. in addition to James, I think we had at least 4-5 other people stop by to bring food, drinks, bread...or even just check in to see how everything was going. We were celebrating our anniversary, so we got some extra attention (a card, a rose and some heart confetti on the table), as well as some mini desserts to take home since we'd already ordered some desserts to eat there. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it was a little dark (making it difficult to read the menu) and a little drafty (chilly), as there was an air register essentially above every table...so bring a jacket or sweater.
