Be warned and trust what I am writing. Honest review after 4 visits! Hospitality and servers try there best to please patrons. Management and servers weren't knowledgeable of the menu and specials that were being offered at their location (online website offers). The most important feedback to pay attention to is the food. After 4 visits..each visit our food was either over cooked or tasted like microwaved left overs. Took my family in for a meal today and after spending $137... I felt like I was robbed and should have gone to Chili's or BJs. Each member of my family stomach hurts and upset. Currently in the process of taking an anti acid for my stomach. I highly recommend that you take the extra 20 minutes and drive over to the Clifton location if you must have a quality meal at an Outback restaraunt. Corporate headquarters should retrain the current chefs employed at this location. Asked to speak with a manager about the food and ask why he couldn't honor current steak n chicken prices listed on website for Gainesville..he never came, but spoke to the server 5 feet away from me and blew my request off. Went to Outback today and the service was incredible. I had never been to an Outback ever in my life and my first impression was amazing. I had Sara H as my server and the service was extremely welcoming, super nice, very understanding and she had knowledge on some of the foods on the menu when I asked about what I should order. Cassandra, one of the managers stopped by to make sure everything was going as expected and it surely was. Shelby and Sarah were also super nice and kind to us as they are some of Sara's coworkers. Took my family out to dinner last night, I ordered a salad, my daughter ordered the kids grilled cheese and my husband steak/chicken combo. The cook cooked like a sad man/woman. The grilled cheese was so hard, my daughters teeth couldn't make an indent and my husbands chicken was so dry/ overly seasoned that after a bite he started choking. Unless they get a new cook I won't go there again- I can cook better at home. read more

We ordered 2 Dinners one was a hamburger and fries the other 1 was a small steak with baked potato and Broccoli. No complaints on the hamburger but the portion of rice was very small and they were not crispy very soggy. The little steak was fine.They did not give us our iced tea. My wife and I dined here on our actual anniversary date while we wait for our mini vacation getaway. We had coconut shrimp and a three dip appetizer (pimento cheese, guacamole, and queso) before our entrees. Outback was the first place we had coconut shrimp many years ago and they have remained the gold standard for us. Not many are as good as they are. The three dip app was pretty good, our favorite was the pimento cheese. My wife had a sirloin and I had the french dip for our meals. The entrees were good; steak was cooked well; the french dip was flavorful. The only disappointing thing was we asked what the soup of the day was and our server said potato. We overheard from another server that it was creamy onion. Creamy onion is one of our favorite Outback offerings and we were really disappointed that we didn't get to have it. Hopefully our server is better informed next time. We will be back. read more

This is our first visit to the outback and we probably won't go back. Not that our meal was horrible, but there are so many good places to eat in the area and we were not impressed with Outback. The restaurant looks great. As with most Outbacks the atomsophere is good and family friendly. The service was slow, but I'll give them the benefit of doubt considering there is still a labor shortage. Let's start with the soup and salad. Our salads came out very late. We were wondering if the salad was going to be served with the meal. Perhaps a staffing shortage so that's okay, but my wife asked for the dressing on the side and instead of putting in on the side they drenched the salad. My brother ordered the french onion soup and we couldn't figure out if what he got was onion soup. It didn't look anything like french onion soup and didn't have bread and cheese on the top. Turning to the steaks, three of us had steaks, all fillets all cooked wrong. My filet didn't look at all like a filet as it was half the thickness of the other filets. I asked for medium rare and received medium well. My mother ordered medium rare and received medium. My brother ordered medium and received medium rare. His was the 8oz, my mother and I had 6oz. I realize that different restaurants have different concepts for cooking levels, but Outback show you on the menu what each cooking level looks like. Overall a very disappointing visit to Outback. We didn't bother complaining because we didn't want to wait longer for replacements and we're not looking for free meals. I've been to Outback Steakhouse in Gainesville, Virginia location 4 times. 3 times out of 4, I had to return my porterhouse for being over cook. I've asked for a medium-well and 3 out of 4 had it well-done. I've given the place the benefit of the doubt since it's been open less than 3 months. But to ruin a dinning experience 3 out of 4 is unacceptable. Today was the last straw...I ordered a medium-well porterhouse and once again got a well-done one. The manager asked me if I would like to get it exchange...I refused and told him that my foamily and I are leaving. I truly hope that this location get their act together. I can only speak for myself of how they've gotten my order wrong most of the time. But I'm sure I'm not the only one. read more

called in a togo order to this location and they asked for my outback account info whenever i got on the phone and my card info was connected to my outback account so i guessed that would've taken the payment because when i got there i was handed my order and i asked the togo worker if i was good and she said yeah so i left with the understanding that it was paid through my outback account after i got home about 2-3 hours later outback is called me demanding money from me for the order even though i was never told to pay nor was stopped as i was leaving. 1 pm on a Monday.. one other table besides my husband and I.. waiter comes out takes other tables drink order.. goes to get drinks and takes their food order. Meanwhile we are sitting there with not so much of a hello be right with you.. wait staff is on the other side of the bar hanging out.. after 20 mins we leave.. very disappointing. I actually like the food and drinks there but probably won't be back. If you're going to have kids working there teach them about being a good teammate or helping out their fellow servers. Acknowledgement goes a long way we probably would have waited longer if someone would have said hey I see you sitting there someone will be right with you. Bar tender, 3 servers sitting in the bar area, hostess that sat us never even went over to tell them we were there, nor did the server that waited on the table across from us. Wow! Great service tonight. Our server, Bryce deserves a shout out. He really impressed my husband and I tonight with his level of service. We both worked in the restaurant industry in our early 20's and can appreciate a job well done. Bryce was super attentive and efficient. He answered all of our questions (Grandma had a lot of them!) with patience and really new the menu items inside and out. Made reservations ahead of time and arrived on time and waited over an hour to be seated. None of the servers know what their doing and the manager told them "I don't care if you have to seat people next to each other, just make it happen" I would definitely recommend saving your time and going to any neighboring restaurant read more

This location seriously needs to get itself together. The first time I tried to do curbside take out, the orders were a hot mess. People were all over the parking lot in cars and on foot to pick up their orders. People were waiting in the rain while wait staff walked aimlessly through the parking lot. Many orders were more than 2 hours later than what was promised from online ordering. I have no clue what happened to my order. I never found out because I had to abandon it after waiting for more than an hour past the time it should have been out with no one wait person having any idea where my order was. Luckily I did not prepay. I tried to call to cancel and I kept getting a busy signal. Tonight we decided to give it another try and ordered through Uber eats. The order arrived cold and missing 2 items we ordered. The ranch dressing for the salad was rancid. The shrimp that I ordered with my steak was packaged with my young son's chicken tenders instead. Luckily he is not allergic to shellfish. I, however, have Celiac and could not eat the shrimp since it was laid out on a piece of bread and packaged with breaded chicken fingers. There was no reason for that as they completely omitted one of the sides we had ordered and all that was in my meal box was a small sweet potato and a small steak. I realize that this location has been busy since it recently opened but the service is absurdly bad at this location. I do not recommend. read more

This restaurant appears understaffed and really struggling. My family of 4 arrived around 2pm on a Tuesday and there were only a few people at the bar and two larger groups in the bar area. The host and bartender appeared to be the only non-kitchen staff and it took a while (5 minutes or more) to get a drink order started, so we ordered our food at the same time. We had some issues with our food (wrong meal brought and well done steak arrived medium). This was remedied although the same steak was brought back and still only cooked on one side and clearly didn't get flipped. Men's Bathroom appeared to have a leak and water and urine were all over floor along with a space heater. Ladies room was not stocked, one stall wouldn't open and also had a space heater near water. Our bill was wrong (charged for both incorrect and correct meal) but the bar tender caught the mistake after running my card and just as I was about to say something so it was corrected. Maybe it was just a bad day and short staffed due to the holidays, but we will likely look to other locations before visiting this one again. Also, $4 per soda is pretty steep when you don't even get a refill. read more

We went to visit this restaurant today as a family of (13) ppl today and they seated us in a big sofa but only the (10) of us and they pushed us to seat our three kids which are under ten years to set away from us. When we ask them if we can seat our kids next to us since there was a small table at the end of the sofa they said it is not legal due to COVID and they stated that they will keep this table empty so we respected their rules but five minutes later we found that they seated another family of two just next to us where we required our kids to be. My husband went to the manager to ask him why they did that and why they did not let the kids be at that table which make more sense The manager and the two other assistants start to get very rude and very mean and keep repeating this is the rule and there is nothing they can do and they start arguing with us and they asked us to leave . Which we anyway intending to . It was horrible service and very poorly management Don't ever go there it is a horrible place read more

I recently started going to this location instead of my normal one because I noticed how much better the food and service was. However this weekend when I went was even better then I expected! I ordered a steak medium well with broccoli, however when it came out it seemed a little undercook but thankfully I had an amazing waitress Michelle that was perfectly willing to take it back and make sure it was cooked to my liking. She was very Quick and thoughtful, especially because of how busy it was I would love to have her next time I come. DO NOT GET PICKUP HERE. Terrible curbside, food was cold, "loaded potato" came with barely any toppings at all. They put ice in my son's milk...not sure why. Took an hour to bring out the food. All in all their pickup sucks and they do not quality check because handing people cold food is ridiculous. We went to this location & the atmosphere was great. Our waiter Benjamin was excellent & helped us out tremendously with our order. The food was excellent & tasty. The only issues that we encountered were the silverware we originally received was not clean. It took our waiter 3 attempts to get a clean knife. We did speak to the manager on duty about the situation & made her aware of the situation. A minor hiccup that didn't totally ruin our dining experience. If we do go back we will certainly ask for Benjamin for our server. read more
