The Outback Steakhouse in Goldsboro, NC, was near my hotel. I don't normally choose chains to dine at because I prefer mom-and-pop places. But sometimes I just need to pick from what is available. The health score was lower than I had hoped for at 91.5. I typically avoid restaurants below 95. It was not too busy when I arrived, so I was seated promptly. I saw a tablet on the table, and that likely would have been the best way to order. My waitress made her way over to take my drink order, and I just ordered my meal then too. She really pushed ordering a larger size than I wanted and appetizers, too. Bread and my salad were brought out, but I still didn't have my drink. The manager eventually brought my Blackberry Refresher. I am not sure if my waitress had too many tables or just lacked attentiveness, but I never saw her after ordering until my check was brought and another push for dessert. The side salad used iceberg lettuce, so that was a disappointment. Maybe Caesar would have had better quality lettuce? Another waitress brought out my food. I had ordered the filet mignon and a baked potato. The meat was priced much higher than sirloin, but its quality was similar to sirloin's. I even had trouble cutting it with the fat, and normally, a filet is lean and tender. I found the baked potato on the small side. With the waitress being nonexistent and other tables waiting to pay while I was still eating, still there when I was finished, the table tablet came in handy as I could pay and be on my way. So that tablet was the best feature of Outback. Probably won't be back. read more

This was a special family outing for my granddaughter's high school graduation with a of 6 people. We were quickly seated at s round table and had a very attentive waitress. There were 2 vegitariens as part of the group and everyone was able to easily find something great to eat from the menu. Outback has a great menu, quick, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Arrived at 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon. and was seating pretty fast but no one waited on us. We were near the bar and not many in the place. Several staff walked by us several time but no one evan ask about drinks. We got up and left and the hostess just said bye and nothing else. We will not be going again and will make sure everyone we know is aware of the poor service and lack of respect to customers in this location. We live near and go to Goldsboro often. read more

To be fair, this location usually does a great job. However, tonight was an exception all the way around. We were seated at 6 pm. The waitress was inattentive. It took her along time to come to the table. She rarely came back. The manager was nowhere to be found. We waited 35 minutes for an appetizer. We waited 45 minutes for salads. We had to leave at 7 and we mentioned that several times to our waitress. We didn't get our food until 6:56. We had wanted to dine in but at that point it was a to go order. We paid but there were two bills. The appetizer was paid for with a free appetizer certificate but the second check showed a charge. The waitress assured us they would take care of the charge. After all it was supposed to be free anyway. Overall it was a far cry from the normal service at this location. read more

With the knowledge that you are not an Italian restaurant, I had the steak and shrimp Alfredo on 1/31/2025, and it was horrible!!! The sauce had absolutely no flavor what so ever! It tasted like milk with roux, no Parmesan cheese salt pepper, nothing. Taking into consideration that I ordered it for pick up, it look like it was just thrown in the box, as if to say here eat this, and like it. The steak was a little over cooked but that is understandable since I ordered it rare and I'm a medium rare person, so I understood it was carry over cooking, that I could deal with, the shrimp was ok, but nothing to write home about. Worn out, stressed out and hungry after a horrible-moving-to-Goldsboro experience, we were desperate for a hot, delicious meal in our new home. We called Outback for pickup. I paid for our order, tipped their team member, and was about to drive hime when he came running back out (pun intended here, so smile please) and asked him if I'd intended to leave a 50% tip. I'd given him an extra twenty in the dark. I couldn't believe he'd actually returned to save me the money! Outback, your takeout staff is amazing. I thanked him and, yeah, told him to keep the money. Good service, honest service and loyal staff are worth their weight in gold and I wish him a wonderful career. Thanks again!!! Our food was perfect. There were no mistakes with our order, our salads were fresh and tasty, and our steaks cooked as requested. I had the Alice Springs Chicken (a sentimental favorite, because I've been to Alice Springs, Australia, and this dish is scrumptious anyway). The cheese was still soft and warm, crispy with bacon and loaded atop the tender white-meat chicken that makes this menu favorite such a delight to eat. My husband and roommate had the Victoria filets, and of course we shared the signature Bloomin' Onion. Our potatoes were right-out-of-the-oven hot and Outback included plenty of butter and sour cream. The brown bread (is it possible to order extra loaves?) was soft and luscious. Well I came here two weeks ago and the experience was NOT good just say the only good thing was my waiter. Well today I am back and Brittany the manager and Bailey my waitress have been nothing but; top notch . Sometimes you have to give people a second chance . My salad was good and it filled the plate and my meal which is an appetizer really was a 10/10... Sweet sriracha chicken bites omg you must try.. The facility was clean and the atmosphere was nice. Got to town sort of late and wanted to grab something half way healthy so ordered a salad from outback to go. This has got to be the worst salad I have ever seen from Outback...or tasted. This was straight out of the bag and walking it up to the hotel room. It was nasty. I got some chicken tenders too for some protein. They were also not good. There was quite a bit of grease and they were way over done. No wonder the parking lot was empty. read more

We ordered a pickup/take out dinner meals since it was the closest option to our hotel. It was not very warm (not a great sign), the food seemed quickly made with minimal toppings that were vital to the dish. The bacon fries with homemade ranch were only speckled with bacon which was a problem....not even sure I would call it "bacon fries". The bread that came with the meal was good, so was the bloomin onion, but the side order of sweet potato tasted bitter even with the toppings of butter and brown sugar added to it. I just felt that waiting an hours time and spending 30 plus dollars on these minimal food selections was wasted on the items ordered and received. read more

If i could give 0 I WOULD! the pulled BBQ PULLED PORK had no BBQ. applebees could do better on burgers. if an establishment can't make tenders what makes them think they should even be in business, definitely have to visit my dentist after eating these hard ass tenders. Bad experience. Ordered medium rare prime rib and got a medium well done so they sent it back and the manager said the chef argued with her and so she gave me a steak. It was good. But then got the bill and the steak was more than the prime rib so I told her she had to adjust it bc it wasn't fair. Take out was a nightmare. Hardly any fries. Hardly any dressing for the salad. The core of the head of lettuce was still in the salad. The burger had a small piece of lettuce for the topping. One old tomato. Bun was old and stale. No ketchup on the burger. Burger tasted like something from the frozen section of a grocery store. read more

I literally ate at this outback 3 nights in a row about a month ago. Each and every single time, service met my expectations. Food was nice and warm, and even tasted like it was cooked in the coveted Australian cooking methods from down under. Which brings me to remember, I was over at a friend's house this past weekend, he was grilling steaks and I was able to give him the ultimate compliment any grill master wants to hear, "Man, this is awesome, it's just as good as Outback Steakhouse!" The only thing I will say that actually grossed me out, was I went to get my pick up order and there was this drink (styrofoam cup with a straw in it (no paper on the top of the straw)). The lady looks at it and she's like, Oh they already made your drink. I'm like, naw they didn't cuz I ain't taking whatever that is. She gotta go ask somebody in the kitchen, they talking bout, yeah that's it. I'm like well they didn't have to unwrap the straw and stick it in the cup and make sure the sprite isn't just carbonated water. Anyway, that lady was very sweet and got me a fresh new sprite. This is for the Outback in Goldsboro, NC. My parents love the coconut shrimp. Due to pandemic they haven't been in awhile. So they started ordering takeout. The first order several months ago the shrimp were not butterflied nor did it have any coconut on them. They were overdone, not a rich gold brown but more of an old grease used dark brown. They decided to try again this week - Wednesday to be exact. They ordered a blooming onion and coconut shrimp. the onion was way overdone - like it had been cooked in old grease- burnt taste. The coconut shrimp were just like last time. Not butterflied or with any coconut that we could tell on them and way too browned. SUCKED! We won't be fooled again. read more

I went here and got the 6 oz. filet with the mushroom and lobster sauce, a blooming onion, and broccoli. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection. Tender, juicy, and full of bold flavor! I was highly impressed because the last time I went the steak was overcooked and by the time they brought the steak out everyone else at our table were done eating. However, they definately redeemed themselves this time! My server was Paige and was extremely nice and made sure my steak was cooked perfectly before she left the table. Probably the best server at that restaurant actually. I will definately go here again but next time I will try something else and order some drinks so I can see if the bar is worth my attention. read more
