The last two times that me and my wife went to Outback the Service was Horrible, the food was Great, fantastic, but bad service. We waited about 45 minutes before we were seated, the wait time was 25 min, after being seated it was an additional 10 minutes before a waitress took our drink order, when our waitress finally came she did not half serve us my tea ran out and never got refilled and our order came out of the kitchen wrong. This was my last and final time ever eating at an Outback. The menu is overpriced, the steaks are tiny and small for $20. Our food was not correct, the waiter didn't check on us not even one time. Then we asked for the bill and asked her to take off the items we didn't receive. She brings it back telling me she took them off hoping i was dumb enough to not look at it. My wife and I went here a few days ago and had a nice visit. I had the sirloin with mixed veggies. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender and the flavor was great. She had the Aussie burger and really enjoyed it. She said it too was cooked just right. I love the bread they bring before the food. It's a fairly small loaf but it's good. Steak was undercooked, wasn't offered condiments A-1, butter,etc, waitress never even offered to refill so we had 1 glass of drink per person with our meal at a table.of 4. I have been to this specific Outback Steakhouse location a hand full of times. The hours definitely vary when it will be busy. We have always gotten awesome customer service & my husband had a certain drink he wanted made at the bar which they didn't have on their menu & the lady at the bar made it with no problems. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the food. The only issue we had was the 2 hour wait because of our food burning and our waiter disappearing due to "an emergency". My issue was that no one came to replace our waiter and we didn't find out until waiting 15 mins after eating, and had asked where our waiter was (We haven't seen our waiter since he took our order). If I can say something good I promise I will ( nov 3 evening after 5pm visit) 1. I was seated at a table whereas the seat had food in it 2. I moved to what appeared to be another table and the seat had food in it 3. I moved to another table and no one came to serve me, I then decided to get take out and leave. 4. THE FOOD SCALE 1-10 it gets a 2 My order: crab cakes, bake potato,lobster tail, shrimp on a skewer, squash and bread. A. The bake potato had a 1/2 hole in the middle and I wasn't sure why, when I broke it apart it look like a section was bad..truthfully I thought some little animal got to it. Also, it was hard as a rock( over cooked) and when I went to pull the skin back on the potato it was black burnt inside and there was hardly any in potato in it. It was like a air balloon. In order words it was so over cooked it was dried out. B. The lump crab cakes were tasteless. I tried eating them but was defeated by the lack of taste, even butter didn't help. They were horrible. I'm from the Chesapeake Bay area in VA, and believe me I can taste crab hidden in a biscuit..lol...but theses crab cakes were immensely dull tasting, you could hardly taste the crab meat.( not sure why but I would never order them from this restaurant again). Maybe the crab meat was old, not sure. I threw the crab cakes away. C. The bread was very good and the squash too. D. The shrimp on the skewer were bland. We do not Live in the Goldsboro area, so we do not get to the Outback very often. We were more than pleased with our meal at the Outback today. Our server was excellent! The sirloin and the grilled chicken were cooked to perfection. We were greeted by the new manager, Brittany, who has been with Outback for many years. Negative stars would be more appropriate. after a long time of avoiding this place due to bad service, we decided to give them a second chance. We shouldn't have. It was the worst yet. First we were seated right beside the front door with no privacy and awkward. Then we were both freezing and noticed a ceiling panel open. We asked if someone could put the panel back in place with no reply. My husband then noticed there was dried food on his appetizer plate. And we had only received bread at that point. Then halfway through my drink, my husband kept staring at my glass. He proceeded to show me this bundle of thread on my ice. I was nauseous. When we finally asked to speak to someone in charge a lady came and introduced herself as the owner. We had finally received our food and after freezing for 40 min offered to move us. Said she couldn't close the panel until we left. Had nothing to really say about that thing in my drink. Was very immature about the whole thing. We suddenly were "those people" and it was obvious she was just trying to say she did everything she could and get away. To top it off, an employee walked by shortly after and stated loudly there was a cross breeze from the to go door. At that point, I didn't get halfway through my food and had enough. I was already paranoid about it anyway. To be more insulting, we stated we didn't want the petty discount on our bill. The waitress practically ran from the table yelling back "company policy". I gave the hostess our cash if the full order (plus tip) and told her it was insulting and if we were looking for a handout, we would have went to the salvation army. First let me say that I gave two starts because the food was pretty good, so were the drinks. But the service at this Outback was the worst service I'd EVER experienced. The nightmare began as soon as we walked through the door. And let me also just say Outback has been one of my favorite restaurants. This is only my second time at the one in Goldsboro, and I will NEVER return. The manager "greeted" us when we walked into the restaurant, we had a party of 8. The manager's face immediately soured and she began to give every reason why we might not want to wait, instead of encouraging us to stay ( it wasn't near closing, only 6:30pm). As her final option, she said if we didin't mind splitting up, we could have the two available booths that my brother saw and inquired about before she asked. We were seated and then the nightmare really began. We came to the conclusion that our waitress must have been high, seriously. She was so dumb (sorry, that's the only way I can put it) and uninformed that we actually considered maybe we were all stupid. Four of us sat at one booth and the other four at the booth directly in front of us, same waitress for all of us. However somehow the other four of our party didn't even have their orders taken for appetizers until 30 minutes after we had received the appetizers at our table. At least twice we had food brought to us that didn't belong to us. Throughout the night both booths received ill-prepared food (steaks not cooked to order), rude service, forgotten requests and finally an incorrect check. At one point, my niece asked for extra ranch for her salad. The waitress never returned. When she finally came back, she actually said, "Oh, I completely forgot about it. And by the time I remembered, I figured you had already eaten your salad." Seriously?!?! And when the check was wrong ( mixed up dishes resulting in incorrect totals), the waitress actually tried to get us to exchange cash so she didn't have to redo the tickets. Then when we insisted on new tickets, she tried to get us to give her our payments while she corrected the tickets before we had a chance to review the new ones. Anytime anything was requested of her, she would try to get us to do it a different way that didn't require her to do extra work. I'd like to say that I have NEVER asked to speak to management, ever, at any restaurant, even if the service sucked. I requested the manager after going back and forth with my fellow company about it. But every time I decided against it, something else would happen. I explained to the manager (the same one who tried to get us to leave) how we felt unwanted and how how horrible the service was. I made sure to let her know that I wasn't looking for anything free, I wanted her to be aware of how terrible our experience was. We did however end up getting some items free, which discounted my bill by $20, which was awesome. Again I will not be returning to the Goldsboro Outback ever again. read more

I wanted a quiet dinner of steak and lobster. Ordered the filet with lobster. Filet was over seasoned I couldn't eat it. Left my mouth burning with pepper. The waitress actually cleaned our table while eating. We were eating and she asked if she could take our bread. She brought the appetizer with our salad Managers were obnoxiously over friendly. Even the hostess checked on us twice. I came to eat not make friends. Mashed potatoes were mostly peelings and watery. This location has consistently provided good quality and timely food over a number of years. Very seldomly have we had an issue with everything not being right or things taking an unexpected amount of time. Me and the wife ate here a few times now and it has been a great experience each time. The waiters are friendly, make conversation and don't hesitate to suggest good drinks. Slow service at lunch on a Saturday, with hardly any customers. Server was inattentive, and seemingly lazy. Food was sub-par. I always attributed Outback to a good "blooming onion", and that was even horrible. I had fish tacos this go around and the fish was over cooked and the taste was lacking anything worth writing home about. My friend and I sat at the bar because there was no one else sitting at the bar and the rest of the restaurant had only two tables with people . It took the bartender about 15 minutes to take our drink order (after we got her attention). She continued to do dishes and we had to flag her down again, after another 15 minutes, to take our entree order. I ordered a medium steak and my friend ordered a medium rare steak. It took an hour to get our food. A couple came in about 30 minutes after we did and got their food before we did. We had to grab the attention of the bartender yet again, to check on our food. We finally get our food and my steak is cooked perfect, but my friend's steak came out medium well. He sent it back, and they brought out a new steak that was burnt on the outside and rare (cold) on the inside, so that one was sent back too. The third steak we got was rare on the inside and my friend was tired of sending it back so he ate the steak. After he ate the steak he immediately went to the bathroom to vomit. He was sick the rest of the night. They took the steak off our bill. We will not be returning due to the poor customer service and their inability to cook a steak at a steakhouse! read more

My family and I went here last night for supper. The young man at the door held the door open for us which was nice. We were seated soon as we walked in. He first took us to a table that was in the middle of the floor so we asked for a booth and without an issue, he took us to a booth. Our waitress then came and took our order (I forget her name). We placed our drink and appetizer order and my mom ordered the boomerang shot deal. Not long after we got it and placed our meal order. About 10-15 mins in, we got a phone call and something came up to where we needed to leave. We got the attention of our waitress so we could ask her if the boomerang shots had been made yet and if not, then we would would cancel it since we were needing to leave and also if we could get our meal to go. She said the shots hadn't been made yet and that it does take a while for it to be made. She said we could definitely get our food to go no problem. A few minutes later she brought us the bill. My dad put his card in the folder and the waitress came and picked it up. A couple minutes after that, what I'm assuming was one of the managers, came up with the bill and some receipts. She said that she was sorry we had to leave early and she said she took 10% off our bill. We of course were appreciative but we were hoping they didn't think we had an issue with the service or anything. Before we left, we reassured them that were leaving because an urgent matter came up and that it had nothing to do with the service there or our experience. We left a $12 tip for the waitress because for the time we were there, she was attentive to our needs and made sure we were satisfied with our drinks and appetizers. We ate our food once we got home and everything came out nice. I got the new bloomin' chicken and it was AMAZING!! It was delicious and I WILL be back for more! The way they handled our sudden need to leave was great and they didn't make us feel like we were being an inconvenience. Usually my husband and I have pretty good experiences here. Last night I ordered the No Rules Pasta with shrimp at Curbside To Go. The pasta had like literally no sauce and was cold and dry. The shrimp were way over-seasoned, but then they were overcooked so it tasted like burned seasoning on a burnt skewer. My husband ordered a dressed baked potato with cheese and bacon. Don't know what I was expecting going to an Outback in Goldsboro, but I still thought it would be better than this. I will say however since I've last been to an outback (2 Years ago) they have definitely changed the inside up and it looks alot sleeker and better. However, the food was subpar to say the least. Just about everything is over salted. I ordered the Ribeye melt which came out on a still half-frozen ciabatta. If you are going to serve frozen bread, make sure it's toasted/cooked all the way. My ribeye meat was overly seasoned and the cheese on the sandwich was still cold, NOT melted like described. The fries were both cold and burnt at the same time, don't ask me how that's possible. The service was good but nothing special. Honestly I only went there because I had a gift card to use up, and I'm almost disappointed that it didn't all get used up on this trip. read more
