First, Kim the bartender was friendly, helpful, lovely, attentive and one of the best who had ever served us in all of Hagerstown restaurants. Started with iced tea and French onion soup. I never thought you could screw this up but the previous place I ate at really messed it up. This Outback had the best French onion soup I have ever had. Kim accommodated my many allergies and modified my dinner accordingly. I got the filet medallions, mashed potatoes and wedge salad which was totally modified and I loved it! I went to Outback with my family for a birthday dinner. There were 5 of us total. Let me start by saying, the food was good but the service was sub par. The only good thing I do have to say about the service was that they accommodated us with a table rather than a booth because my father had just had back surgery. It went downhill on the service end from there. I ordered wine as soon as we sat and did not see this wine until about 30 minutes later. The waitress blamed it on the bar and said they had to pour it, even though she hadn't walked over to ask them the entire time we were sitting there. We ordered 2 app, the bloomin onion and the fried mushrooms. The mushrooms came out in a decent time, but the bloomin onion took 20 minutes because they "gave it to another table". Instead of making light of the situation our waitress said "well if I had been back in the kitchen it wouldn't have happened, I don't do things like that". Basically blaming it on everyone but herself, very unprofessional. Our main entrees were sirloin steak and lobster, Alice springs chicken, a porterhouse, and a kids grilled cheese. We went to Outback on Saturday February 10th. It took forever to get our food. We ordered a bloomin onion as an appetizer. The onion was undercooked and so strong we couldn't eat it. It also had peeling left on it. I ordered a Cesar salad and French onion soup. My son ordered a steak and lobster tail and my mom had a steak quesadilla. The croutons on the Cesar salad were stale. The salad itself was pretty gross. My son's steak was cooked perfectly and he enjoyed it. I ate about 1/3 of my soup when I noticed something in it. There were pieces of paper all through the soup. When I told the waiter, he said it was just pieces of onion. The paper had a gold trim on the side of it. He admitted it was paper. He asked if I wanted a new bowl. I asked if it was from the same batch and of course it was. I declined. I will never return to this Outback. I was so disgusted by finding paper in my soup. No manager came to apologize and no amends were made. I am sure they continued to serve the same soup the rest of the day. read more

Not sure what happened to Outback but wow. Went for dinner last night, it was a little busy but they were well staffed. We were seated right away and had a great server. Cameron K, he was very friendly and attentive. He's the reason you are getting stars. We ordered drinks and an app. The drinks weren't too bad and the steak and cheese dip was nice and flavorful. Then shortly after we ordered our entrees. Whoever brought us our food was having a really crappy day and felt the need to let us know with the constant and loud huffing when she brought out our plates. It was rude and unnecessary as we did nothing to her. Yet other tables were looking like we were being "those" people. As for our food, the bloomin' chicken was good according to my husband. Our son ordered a prime rin sandwich and he was really disappointed. Very minimal flavor, the "au hus" was a dish of sautéed Onions with about a quarter cup of broth. We joked you ran out and gave him french onion soup instead. The fries on both the sandwich and bloomin chicken were cold and soggy. I ordered a "big bowl" Cobb salad no bacon with grilled chicken. What I got was a big plate of cut up iceberg lettuce, six cherry tomatoes halved and a grilled chicken breast. When I lifted my piece of chicken there was about a tablespoon of cheese, a sprinkle of grated egg and maybe a tablespoon of dressing. Quite literally the most underwhelming salad on the planet. Ridiculous especially for the cost. We had hope for more but I guess unless you want steak or something flavored in bloomin onion batter you are out of luck. I gave this place 3 stars because it was just ok. I had a $50 gift card from the previous Christmas and figured I would use it since there was a location nearby. I got the steak quesadilla and my mother got the steak salad. We also got the blooming onion for sharing. Mom bought a soda, and I just ordered an ice water. Good thing I did! The total ticket was $45 and some cents. I told the waitress to just keep the remainder on the card for a tip because I had no cash on me. We mostly have good experiences here food always good but don't waste your time on carry out they never get a simple order right never enough butter or salad dressing even if you pacifically ask our cheese fries was suppose to be just cheese n fries n they came with bacon all over them ,, yuck,, N also our salads witch should have been lettuce wedges n shredded cheese with tangy tomato on side ,, sounds pretty easy right ? My family and I are on vacation and we stayed at holiday inn (right next door) we picked up our food to eat at the hotel. My chicken and shrimp pasta tasted like the pepper shaker was accidentally dropped into the container. The appetizer sampler was so greasy it was inedible. My husbands food was "ok". We were there yesterday for my birthday dinner. My baked potato was hard and inside, rubbery. The past few times we've gone the baked potatoes have been awful. The last potato my husband got, his was grey on the inside and said "it tasted like it had been ran through a dishwasher." I don't know if they're microwaving them and then reheating them (to save time) or what, but they need to fix the problem. My husband, daughter, and son had grassfed burgers and said they were delicious. My daughters boyfriend had chicken w/ pasta & shrimp and his food was good. I had a 6oz. sirloin, baked potato, and house salad. My steak was ok. Honestly, I have had better. We skipped Texas Roadhouse to go to Outback but if you don't fix the potatoes, we will go elsewhere. Ok here is my two cents. I have traveled for a living nearly 30 years. I eat in some fantastic restaurants but often eat at chains when traveling solo. I have not been to an outback in a while. I didn't know they changed up the menu. I came here for a steak but on the walk from my hotel next door, I caught wind of ribs and they smelled great. So I ordered a half rack. Since when does a "half rack" of ribs consist of four ribs. Every village idiot knows depending on the breed of hog, pigs have between 14 an sixteen pairs of ribs typically. am still sitting here waiting on the four they forgot to bring. Oh and I am having a slice of cheesecake while I wait. Meanwhile I now have to figure out what to order while I wait on the rest of my cheesecake. Very disappointed in the portions. I thought I ordered off the big kids menu. In fact, my server told me I only got one side and a salad was extra. I don't buy rabbit food for extra money with a meal. On the good side. I walked in. Went straight to a table in the bar. Service was so fast I never got to check in on yelp before my meal was here. I've been to several outbacks throughout the States and Puerto Rico. The Hagerstown Outback has a little to be desired. When we arrived and were seated the silverware was wet and had food left on it from a previous person. The waitress was apparently having a bad day because she wasn't to pleasant. The host/check in staff member was severly lacking at his job. An important part of that position is being in control of the queue of customers in front of him. Allowing three couples, who walked in after my fiancee and I to check in and reserve a table ahead of us was unacceptable. The host clearly made eye contact with me several times and allowed other customers to butt ahead. When I told the Host that we were going to a competitors restaurant instead, he became passive aggressive and made a snide comment. First and foremost, the service was excellent left a 30% tip for his services.. but, the food, terrible.. ordered the 16 oz prime rib (medium rare)and lobster tail... the prime rib looked fake.. like the colored it red to be medium rare and tasted like well..nothing until I added raw horse raddish. . Drinks are good. Normal price but the food is generic and poorly cooked. Blooming onion was half cooked and half raw. My asperagus was burnt, my medium ordered steak was rare and without much of any seasonings, my wife's burger was generic af. I can cook way better than this at home and I'm not that great of a cook. I have visited Outback steakhouses many times in the past generally with good results. Tonight was a special "date night" with my daughter and I had high hopes. I will say that the food was good and the wait at 7pm on a Saturday night was only 15 minutes. The service, however, was non-existent through no fault of our server. It appeared that one of the bar servers also had responsibility for the tables in the bar area. The bar was reasonably busy so beyond taking our order we never saw her again. Our food was delivered by someone who had no visible affiliation with the restaurant. Although our server did find time about 15 minutes after we finished eating to bring the check, my card and receipt were returned by a third woman who also had no visible affiliation with the restaurant. I ordered through DoorDash hoping to have a good dinner and not go to bed hungry. I'm wondering if my bad experience was because maybe it was the last order before closing and they kind of just threw it together with no care or what. I had ordered the 8oz sirloin with coconut shrimp. My husband ordered the new blooming chicken sandwich with cheese fries and shrooms for an appetizer. The only good thing that I got out of this order was the free bread you receive, my baked potato and salad. The steak was black and hard on the outside. Hard considering I could play a drum beat. The coconut shrimp was mushy and cold. My husband's sandwich was soggy and and condiments were missing on sandwich and fries were stuck together hard and cold with maybe a pinch of cheese. His shrooms were cold and mushy also received no dipping sauce like listed on menu. I can vouch this was not the dashers fault for I can see when dasher arrives and waiting for the food and when dasher is leaving store and I only live 5 minutes away from the restaurant depending on traffic. Such a shame. And now I have a grouchy hungry husband . Hopefully they can do something about the quality of their food or I see them losing out on a lot of business. My chicken was tasty and tender. I chose the fresh mixed veg and a side salad. The mixed vegetables were hot but not cooked through. Carrots were crunchy. I had the worst experience here, I ordered a 12oz sirloin with a sweet potato and steakhouse mac n cheese. The steak was supposed to be med well when I cut into it blood ran on my plate and it was red in the center. They heated up my steak and brought it back but I was so sick I threw up and couldn't take another bite. They didn't even discount my meal or anything. We were spending the night in Hagerstown while traveling, and decided to have dinner at this Outback Steakhouse. We had never had a bad meal at an Outback before, so we thought it was safe. This place is HORRIBLE. We waited an hour to be seated (we were given a wait time of 30 minutes). Once we were seated, we waited for our waitress for an unwarranted amount of time, and then waited for our drinks. The restaurant was busy, and our waitress was obviously annoyed with the world. The restaurant was out of just about everything we wanted to order, and she was unapologetic when telling us about it. People around us were all annoyed with their lack of service and lack of selection, and the manager was hiding out and trying not to make eye contact. I think Outback is a great restaurant as a chain, but this particular restaurant should be disowned. We'll never stop there again! read more

Tonight the food was good, but the service was amazing. I ordered a sirloin steak as did my friend, but mine was grisly while hers was good. When I mentioned that I couldn't chew or cut my piece of meat they immediately took it so that they could replace it with a new one. While waiting they brought me soup and then on top of they sent us home with a free dessert. Great customer service. Very impressed with the manager and server. read more
