Let me start by saying that Outback is my favorite, and I do mean---- FAVVVORITE place to eat..... I am yelping now about Greenwoods Outback because this is the 3rd time I've had a pretty 'mediocre' (being kind right now!) experience! It's as if they don't have enough people working- and the people that are working - don't really help one another - so the customers wait and wait and wait....... Training and new management is needed, I'm convinced that good leadership results in extraordinary results.... And this Outback needs it! Tonight's review is written because... Appetizer didn't come for over 20 min, only to be told, they were out of buffalo chicken dip- thanks for letting us sit there that long! The manager was less than helpful- only to apologize - The rest of the dinner was alright, nothing spectacular... I go to Outback at least 1x per month, and the experience at the Greenwood one is always - alright to poor.... Never had an amazing experience there I hope they turn this place around ... Used to be my favorite chain restaurant. I used to be able to get amazing salmon, every single time. In the 4 years that we have frequented this location, the quality has disappeared. I don't think this is a management issue, food quality issues usually come from the top. I swear the last piece of salmon I ordered from there was frozen. The salad was so wilted and disgusting, I couldn't eat it. And please please please don't serve dead potatoes. We gave them 3 last shots before I promised my boyfriend we would never ever go again and plop down $70 for dishes we could cook better at home for half the money. It disappoints me terribly to have to leave this low of a review. I still leave 2 stars because the creamy onion soup is and has always been amazing, even on our last stop. read more

This was one of the best meals I've had at an Outback. We arrived on a Friday evening. They had a 45 minute wait, but quickly got a table in the bar. My husband and I both ordered the prime rib. It was cooked perfect and had excellent flavor. I had the fresh steamed vegetables. Again, perfectly steamed. read more

We've come to this restaurant a couple times in the last month and haven't had any problems until this last time. My reviews aren't typically negative, however, I am being truthful. The service here this past time was lacking in comparison to previous times, just a few minor errors with the order etc. The restaurant was clean and busy. Instead of ordering steak, I felt like crab legs. One could argue that you should not ever order crab legs in the Midwest or at a steakhouse, however I would State back that restaurants shouldn't have an item on their menu if they can't properly prepare it. I understand this type of food is going to be frozen, however, it was petrified wood. Completely freezer burnt. It was also improperly cooked. I ordered a pound and pulled out minimal meat. The restaurant did take it off my bill and I appreciated that since I didn't eat one bite of crab. Everyone else's dinners were excellent. read more

Came in here after some Black Friday Christmas shopping. My mom, dad and I were tired and hungry. Sat in the bar and had a friendly server by the name of Mike. Mike is a pro - there really is an art to serving and Mike is one of the best I've had in a very long time at any type of restaurant. Everything is always good - consistently! Love the chopped salad and the Victoria filet and even the baked potatoes are great.

There's usually a wait at this location, but at lunchtime you can easily snag a table. Service in the bar was friendly and fast.

Sydney 'Shrooms are fantastic! These lightly battered and deep fried whole mushrooms are crunchy on the outside but moist and flavorful on the inside. The full order in huge and are table of three ordered two and they all disappeared. They are served with a cool ranch dipping sauce. The Prime Rib was very good, six ounces was more than enough after all those 'shrooms. I chose to have them throw it on the grill and they added additional seasoning with that option. The au jus served on the side was peppery and rich. The side of broccoli was cooked perfect and was slightly firm and a vibrant deep green. All in all, I had a wonderful meal. read more

Looking to mix things up, we brought my Dad here for his birthday. The call ahead seating was great because we managed to skip the lobby full of waiting guests and were seated upon our arrival. It was a Saturday, so they were pretty busy. Our waitress was incredibly nice, and I don't know if she had an overwhelming amount of tables, but it did take quite a while for our: drinks, salad, and the horseradish we ordered when the meal came. Our salads arrived literally a minute before our food, which was pretty inconvenient as table real estate was minimal and we hadn't even scratched the surface on our salads. The girl who delivered our meals was not our waitress and when we expressed our disappointment on the timing, she got incredibly defensive saying, "I had nothing to do with your order, I just bring out the food." Instead of helping us find a solution or suggesting she get a manager. On a positive note, our waitress did apologize for the timing issues AND the steaks were all great cuts of meat and cooked to perfection. I got the sirloin and mashed potatoes and they were perfect. I also ordered the house salad, which was fine except that it was swimming in an excess of dressing. So definitely order the dressing on the side! read more

It's unfortunate to have such a good steak house being run into the ground by a bad kitchen manager . That doesn't order or keep up with supply and demand when you're not very busy being out of prime rib on a Wednesday when every other Outback Steakhouse in town has prime rib on hand I shouldn't have to call to find out which one has what I want before for I go out. This is not the first time this has happened. Someone needs to do something about this kitchen manager. Or I'll never go back to this restaurant again. read more

Our waitress was super nice. The steak was really hard and tough .. ok so this is the kicker 1 restroom and men and women share same one. That's crazy. I haven't been to Outback in a while; and let me say it's no Texas Roadhouse. Today I asked for my steak well done/not burnt. It came out medium rare. I had it sent back and the manager very kindly brought it back and made sure it was to satisfaction. They also brought me another ton of starch... Anyhow, the waitress was outstanding. Wow we went back after a year of not going and I remembered why we stopped going in the first place. Bad service bad food actually the food isnt what it used to be. Our food came out four bites into my salad I knew then it was going to be a problem. Steak wasnt done so it got sent back came out burnt manager didnt care never came back to check on us again. Overpriced for a steak the equivalent of ponderosa tough chewy and no flavor. This is not the outback I used to know. Look for them to go out of business within 5 years. Arrived home with my take out order and was absolutely messed up. Two sides were wrong, one side was missing, one steak was almost raw while another was so over cooked and tough I couldn't eat it. I ordered dessert and it was not sent. This was an $84. order and for my dinner all I could eat was a potato and some cold bread. Received awful service on a delivery. Received the completely wrong order because they didn't write a last name on the tickets and there were two orders for the same first name. Absolutely uncaring staff and management when issues were presented. Would have dealt with the wrong items, except the food we did get was terrible. It was poorly seasoned, overcooked and cold. They wanted to put all the blame on the delivery service and acted like we were just wanting something for nothing. No, regardless, we didn't want anything but our money back. We will never go back. We were seated promptly, after waiting eight minutes on our booth with no one coming to set water down, ask us what we wanted to drinker got up and left. During that right minutes we saw managers pass our booth, servers pass us, and other servers talking and joking in the aisles. When I passed the person that seated us in our way out he seamed shocked, so I told him that it had been eight minutes and not one person had tended to us, two of the wait staff were up there they had passed us plus the manager that had passed us, so I called them out. Service was fine but the food was unappetizing. We both just ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer and I got the baked potato soup while my mom got the chicken tortilla soup. My soup looked like it has been sitting for awhile. It was warm but the color had a slight green tint with this oil rim around the edge of the soup. We are long time clients of outback, patrons even, and never have we been treated the way we were tonight, 9/15/2018 at 10:00pm, Greenwood/Indianapolis, Indiana. Kian B, gave a snarky comment about the extra cheese we ordered on top of our cheese fries. They were ordered: extra cheese and layered. The fries were barely layered and no extra cheese on top. When they came back out, they looked great and we were grateful (expressing so as well). Once our bill came, we were charged for the extra cheese and layering of the cheese, which was expected and accepted. At the bottom of our bill was an open food item for and extra $1.00 for the more cheese that we had placed on top for the recook. When Kian B came back out to take the card, we told her we did not agree with the extra amount that was being charged for the "open food." She told us that we were charged the extra dollar because we had more cheese added to the top, after we were already paying for extra cheese to begin with. She began to get an attitude, I told her not to argue with me because it would not go well for her. Twice in fact, because she would not stop arguing with me. She then proceeded to tell us, "well guess what, I don't need your tip!" and walked away. As she was walking away, I requested the manager on duty to come out to our table. A few minutes later, my mother went to get a hostess to get the manager for us, because Kian or the manager never came back out to us. Once the manager came back out to our table, we explained what happened, and she apologized saying she would take care of Kian. She also, kindly took off the extra charges for the cheese, we were grateful, but it was not necessary, we only wanted the dollar off. We understand that this issue was only over one dollar, but it was the principle and the fact that Kian argued with us and smarted off in the process. read more

Came in tonight with my family of 4 of us. This was the biggest let down and thank God I had gift cards. Because if I had spent almost $200 out of my pocket I would of sent it all back. She brings out our meals and my mom and I both do not have our Mac n cheese sides with our steaks. I am not kidding when I tell you we waited another 20 minutes for our sides... I was almost done with the steak which lets talk about that for a second. I get outback on the north side almost weekly at work and it's awesome. But this steak on the south side of Indy was the worst steak I've ever had! It made Golden Corral look like a steak house. There was so much pepper on the steak we were scraping it off with our knives. My mom and husband eat the spiciest food ever and hot sauce everything and even they couldn't eat it. Our waitress never came back and at this point we were there over an hour and a half and that doesn't count the 30 minute wait time outside. So we are what we could and the finally get our Mac n cheese and asked for a refill which took another 12 minutes. Finally after 2 hours in our booth with awful cold food we called it done.
