We've been coming to this location for 30 years. Today was the worst experience there ever. I could take hours to write this review, much like the hours it took to get our food (hint: we never did get our food--we left after 2 hours of excuses, lies and being ignored). We ordered and got our appetizer quickly, sans plates, napkins or utensils. We asked for those things and got our first excuse "oh, they're cleaning them up in back right now", but eventually we received those. After another 20 min or so we inquired where the salads were. Again, the same excuse "they're busy in the back and it takes some time" (to make a SALAD?) and "it's Saturday night, what do you expect?" (planning ahead for a busy night maybe?) Eventually those were brought. After maybe another 45 min we finally got fed up (ha!) and told our waitperson there was no reason food should take that long to cook. She got mad at us and said she'd bring the manager to speak to us. (she didn't). This was after the 10th time she 'checked in' on us asking if we were doing fine. When we eventually said "no", she got testy, fled, and ignored us the rest of the time. We never did get our food. And every time we did ask about getting something, it was NOT our waitperson who brought it. Someone else had to fetch us waters, someone else brought the utensils. Maybe this was the "new system" everyone claimed was being implemented. Kind of like "new Coke" was a "new system" I think. They did toss us some free gift cards when we decided to leave (yet another different person), though those expire in 7 days. A second set of salads was being brought to us (huh?) as we were leaving. We actually had to give money to the receptionist for the little food we got since the waitperson had vanished on us (and the rest of the patrons in our corner--we were not the first group to walk out). Lastly, we were told many times the manager would come speak to us and they never did citing "they are busy in the back". I don't know what was going on in the back, but it wasn't cooking meals, as most tables around us had only appetizers and/or drinks. Totally unprofessional by our waitperson and the managers who were too cowardly to come speak to us during our TWO HOUR "stay". We won't be back so we left the gift cards on the table. The service is excellent and the food it perfectly prepared the only problem I had is thier sweet tea isn't very sweet and it took very long for our food to arrive. We always order the kids food first and then we ordered ours. The kids had all thier food done by the time me and my husband got ours and we ordered ours 5 minutes after we ordered the kids food. But other than that I would recommend this place as a go to place for great food. read more

I've always liked eating at Outback, but our most recent visit will probably be our last, at least at the Ontario location. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to spend over 50 bucks at and get a wayyyyyyy better meal and service. We were there recently on a weekend afternoon, and were one of probably 10 tables at the most. We were seated, and waited a while for our server. When she came over, we ordered our drinks and an app. Our drinks came out and the drink I had ordered didn't even look remotely like the picture. It was sloppy, dripping all over and not really appealing. The app was fine, and the waitress never bothered to bring us bread or check on us, because she was too busy talking to the other servers at the bar the whole time. We ordered our food, and it took probably 40 mins to come out. When it did, it was cold. We were missing a few items, and the waitress still didn't show up til about 15 mins later. (Still at the bar talking.) When she did show up and we asked her for the missing items, she never brought them back and didn't even remember we had asked for them. We paid the bill and left. As we were leaving the almost empty restaurant, there was a family standing up front waiting to be seated, but surprise! No hostess was anywhere to be seen. Probably in the group of employees still talking by the bar. We never had a manager check on us, so it's really obvious customer service is of no importance here lol. Been here twice in about 5 weeks. The employees are always nice and helpful when you first walk In. The food is great!! Alison springs chicken is my favorite!! Only problem the first time server took forever to get us the bill and we had a movie to get to. The second time we had to ask the manager for refills on beverage and my boyfriends endless shrimp. Maybe the servers need a little work. The first time was during the week and not very busy. The second time was a Saturday and busy. But how we are served determines the percent of their tip. We always have the full of attention of the staff because we are there early afternoon. They are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their menu. The one issue I do have with this location is the GPS direction from the 30W :) But their signage is good and it easy to make your way :) The parking is plentiful, but remember we are there early noon. The food is good. Can anyone say bread lover? Yes, yes and yes. Since it's just the two of us we do not order the 'Blooming Onion'. My husband ordered a 6 oz sirloin $11.99 and I ordered the Steakhouse salad $12.99. Yummy! I would return again, and I would recommend this location. read more

I did take out tonight. At the Outback near my house tonight. One of the worse take away experiences and I won't do it again. Crispy chicken Cobb for my husband and fish tacos for me. I was told it would be ready at 6:58 pm and got there ~5 min early. 30 min later it finally came out and it was cold. The fish as well as the chicken on the salad. The tacos literally looked as though they had been haphazardly tossed in to the styrofoam container. I showed the gal who'd finally brought out the food, had her wait while I checked and expressed my displeasure. She said she'd get a manager - I waited 5 min and finally left -at that point I wouldn't have been effective talking with the manager so decided to post something. Went home to eat and planned on returning for the conversation. That said this is one of the classiest snazziest joints in town right up there with olive garden and red lobster. It's a great place to take a prom date or get engaged with a mall jewelry store ring. I went there for dinner with a friend. We sat in a booth in the bar section. I had a Frozen Strawberry Rita which was spot on fabulous! We ordered their breaded mushrooms as an appetizer - they were overcooked and dry, not to mention visually unappealing. My salad that came with my dinner was perfect as was my friend's salad. The bread that they serve with the salad was stale and cold. My grilled chicken on the Barbie was DRY and tasteless. My friends filet was overcooked. I usually love all my food from this Outback location, but not this time. It was dreadful. Very disappointed and a waste of money. I did get the mushrooms taken off the bill ..... This Outback was extremely attentive professional and thorough in understanding what I needed and ensuring the food was prepared correctly. Everyone from the hostess, to the waitress, to the manager were very kind to me even when I had to send something back. We now come back here because we feel comfortable that they know how to handle specific food requests and are friendly about it. read more

After being told a 20 minute wait for a party of 4, we waited over 45 minutes... no big deal it happens, they were busy. Once sat we ordered some apps and sodas which came out in a timely manner... never once did our waitor offer a refill, we had to ask for them after sitting with no drinks for several minutes. Once we finished our apps no salads ever came out that were ordered and finally after being there for over an hour with a 2 year old with us we asked about them and our food to which our waitor said he had no idea because they only let him know when things are ready. Finally after another 20 minutes we had to get the manager and inform him of the situation and pointing out that parties larger than ours that had come in after us had already been served and finished their meals. The manager was great about the situation realizing that we had a 2 year old who never once made a commotion and thanked us.... unfortunately though they have lost our business for good. This is hit or miss and I love outback and my cheese fries! Out of the last 8 times I said prime rib med rare it was beyond well it was brown.. Went to the one in Westlake, OH. They had a new menu with Steak Frites. It looked like a good meal; cut up NY strip steak with parmesan fries and a peppercorn sauce on the side. My daughter and I both ordered it and the steak was thin and fatty, covered in the peppercorn gravy. So much for it being on the side. If we would have known it wasn't coming on the side we would have asked for it on the side. When we told the manager that he agreed that it should have been on the side, and said that if we were all well fed and happy that was all that mattered. Only we weren't. My husband ate my daughters steak and I didn't eat most of mine. I couldn't choke down one more slimy piece. On top of that there was an herb on the fries that did not go well with the flavor of the gravy. I gave it two stars because the hostess and the waitress were wonderful ladies.
