After a long day on the road, getting back into Ohio, my wife and I wanted to take my mom out for dinner. Free change of pace, we went to a spot. We haven't been to in time, Steve's Dakota Grill. We open with their spinach artichoke dip. Must say it was very delicious, however, like most places they don't serve enough bread with it. For our main courses, my wife for a bowl of their chicken noodle soup, mom there, steak, special, and I there Cedar point salmon. Unfortunately, my wife's soup was as salty as the dead sea! My Cedar plank salmon was OK, should have asked for the sauce on the side. My mom enjoyed her steak. Usually a very solid spot to stop on the spur of the moment, but not this time. read more

This was NOT a good experience. I ordered their Prime Rib, which they tout as the BEST IN RICHLAND COUNTY. The meat arrived uncooked and looked more like Seared Ahi...terrible. I called our server over to point out the issue and she apologized, promising a new piece of meat. Instead, the meat was microwaved and was returned to me looking more like leather than a piece of meat. They did remove it from my bill; however, the damage had already been done. This place is a hidden gem! They advertise the prime rib to be award-winning, and I would agree, it's great! And, you can't beat their menu prices. Also, they actually serve the order to the temperature ordered (I enjoy rare) and not overcooked. The happy hour beer selection was great (and only $2). Great place and great service! read more

Had a great dinner here on Thanksgiving. They had Thanksgiving specials and the full menu. I decided to get the park avenue salad with steak added. Salads was well portioned and the steak was perfect. Richelle had the peppercorn ribeye, she said it was cook perfectly and was very good. Service was fantastic, even though we were told they were a little short staffed. Thanks to Steve's Dakota Grill for being open on Thanksgiving for those of us who don't want to spend Thanksgiving cooking. read more

A good place in Ontario to get a good steak! Prime rib was excellent and price was great. We went back a second night. I had the park avenue salad and ordered rare.....and it really was! Excellent. Called them to order take out and the girl that answered the phone said that she didn't have anything to write with so she wanted me to go online. So I went online and it wouldn't let me choose the steak temp that I wanted. After selecting my items, at the end where it asks pick up time, it will only let you select immediately, as any other time, even 10 minutes later, was unavailable. So I had to call back to the store and the same girl put me on hold for 5 minutes to get someone else. He confirmed my order and said he would make the changes. Picked up the food and then drove to my destination only to find out that my pre-paid, and double confirmed order, was missing someone's food. Had to call the store back yet again, and the same girl answered and put me straight to hold without even saying a word. The other guy comes back on in a few minutes and wanted to send me a gift card. I live out of state and did not want it, and he could also not refund me because of a "new system". The only thing good about Steve's Dakota grill was they had assigned a person to go around and take the waitresses temp.while they are working. The wife got chicken and couldn't cut it with the provided steak knife, even with all the gristle it had. I paid 24 bucks for a charred steak that was very rare and definitely not an 18 or 16 oz. Steve's is my preferred steak house in the area. First of all, their menu is much better in terms of diversity ! I love their cocktail list also you get a great martini for after your meal. The service friendliness lacks just a bit but the way they cook their steaks has made up for the experience. Haven't stopped in for a few years - I know realize why - lack of seasoning and overall just depressing

I've been here about 8 times and the last 3 visits have me wondering what I did to put off the staff. The last 3 times I visited my order was wrong, incomplete, and the last 2 times my order had approximately 90 min wait times although everyone else around me got their food in a timely manner. I tip anywhere from 35-50 percent so that's not the issue. I also don't make challenging requests. I've only lived in the area about 19 months and everyone here seems to know everyone else so maybe that's it-I know when I'm not welcome somewhere. It's too bad their food is good. read more

The Prime Rib does indeed deserve high rating, My partner had it with asparagus el dente, garlic potato. This was done to perfection. I however, read on menu 'giant stuffed shrimp with crab meat and small shrimp with cheese sprinkled on top'. What appeared on my dish was shrimp in cheese sauce (ugh) and could not find crab or the small shrimp. I believed they were ground up and thrown in the cheese sauce. I was totally disappointed in the meal. If it had been stated to be in a sauce I would never ordered it. The staff excellent and attentive. I like the atmosphere, even tho it was a sports bar, the room was cozy with screens to watch( neither of us watched) but it was un-intrusive. There were various head of African animals with antlers hung around the room. I really did like the setting. But my food ruined my evening out. read more

What a great meal! We contacted the Brown Derby Road House for a table for 5 people. The wait was an hour! I called Steve's and they got us seated right away! The specials at Steve's can't be beat. We eat at Steve's almost every Sunday after church and have the Kansas City steak with a baked potato and onion straws with their yummy rolls and maple butter along with a great side salad. All for $8.99. The whole family eats for $40. We can't go anywhere else and eat steak with a family of four for $40. The service is good and the food is too. A manager is always walking around asking about our experience and like I said, the staff is very nice. We always look forward to Steve's on Sunday. read more

we were batting 0! my husband I went there because the wait was to long at an other streak house. I ordered a Margarita on the rocks with salted rim. waitress brings drink and no salt on rim. I tell her the salt is missing. she brings me a plastic cup with salt and tells me to wet the rim and add salt! We order our steaks 2 ribeyes medium rare. one was a ribeye the other Ny strip came out. Food was not hot. baked potatoes were cold. we were not enjoying the meal to say the least! This was probably the worst steak dinner we have ever had. I ordered the ribeye steak without peppercorns because the last time (about 15 yrs ago) it was covered in peppercorns, and couldn't even taste the steak. Come to find out that was probably a good thing. I ordered it medium and it came out slightly charred and pink all the way through, without any blood. It looked as if it was boiled then put on the grill for a few seconds. Had no flavor and had to use steak sauce which I never use. My wife ordered prime rib medium rare and again...no blood. The rosemary seemed like it was put on after cooking. The horseradish sauce had an unusual taste like flowers and told the waitress and she said someone else said the same thing....but they kept serving it? Potatoes had a really hard skin as if they had been over cooked and were warm, not hot. Service was adequate nothing outstanding. We should have known being seated right away on a Saturday night at 7 P.M. there was something up with this restaurant. At least our dogs eat good when we got home since neither one of us finished our food. Needless to say we will not be back! read more

When I asked for an itemized receipt, the server brought me the kitchen check (for those of you who are in a restaurant, you know what I'm talking about). The 1 star is for the smell of the grill. I would have loved to try them, but after watching everyone around us order, eat, and leave, we went elsewhere. Our server took forever with drinks/refills and served everyone's starter, but mine (this was almost an hour after being seated). I even ask for it again. And as we left, she had the nerve to say our steaks were on the way out right now. I then reminded her that she still hadn't brought my soup. And management served up a blank stare when I told him what happened. It should have been obvious when everywhere else had a 1-1/2 hour wait, but Steve's was 15-20 minutes. The crab stuffed tilapia was amazing. Delicious dinner perfectly prepared. My guest had the salmon and it was also delicious. The service was excellent, personable, attentive but not too attentive which is nice for having a conversation. Prices were very good for the quality of the food and service. Only negative was the asparagus. It was cooked beyond its intended capacity. Wimpy and droopy was how we described it. Overall a wonderful meal. We will be back. read more

Have been here numerous times. Service has always been mediocre at best. Waited for over 20 minutes at a table and no one came to take our order. There was a couple that was ordering when we were sat and they received their food. A waitress passed our table 6+ times but never acknowledged us. We ended up getting up and walking out. Was taken here for my surprise birthday party. It was wonderful!!! Atmosphere, servers, food...all totally awesome. I had the stuffed shrimp with onion straws and a salad. The stuffed shrimp was a huge portion and very tasty. Would definitely get it again. They are known for their prime rib and have been voted Best in Town for three years running. My wife and I recently moved to Crestline, and today is our anniversary. We figured we would try a new place for our special dinner so we wanted to try Steve's Dakota Grill. Just a few miles down the road from where we live. It's basically a tale of two different dinners. Service was really good the wait staff is very attentive. My wife ordered prime rib. She ask it to be medium rare. The prime rib was more medium, was pretty tough, not tender as primer to supposed to be. There was gristle all along the edges and she thought it tasted a little off. I had a bite of it and it just tasted so saturated of Rosemary and other seasonings that it drowned out the prime rib flavor. I had a french onion soup which was excellent. A porterhouse steak with a side of garlic smashed potatoes as the entree. My steak was cooked to order, it tasted like it was cooked over charcoal grill and the potatoes were also excellent. Our server Taylor in particular was very attentive and make sure we were well taken care of. read more
