This place has some nostalgic memories for me, so we come here on special occasions or when we're just feeling like good salmon. My usual outback go-to item is the sesame salad with seared ahi tuna. This used to be my favorite salad but as the years have gone by it feels like the overall salad quality has slipped. Not just this location but everywhere. The greens are basically the remains of a iceberg lettuce head, nothing more. There are a few slivered almonds. the dressing used to be bang up, but now it's lacking. Most the time the lettuce is too wet when the salad is tossed so the dressing doesn't stick, it just pools at the bottom of the bowl. I'm bummed. I have to say the thai salad at Panera is now my favorite since this one has slipped from grace. I'll have to pick a new favorite when we come here. Service on our most recent trip was outstanding. Very attentive, prompt, super sweet. Since the salad issue has been something at multiple outbacks (this one, one in Utah I stop at, and one in Stevenson Ranch) I don't think it has anything to do with staff. I love Outback. My wife asked me if I wanted to go and get a steak here and I laughed. I figured it would be like any other chain restaurant steak...you know, crappy. Normally if I want a good steak, it's Boa, or maybe Ruth's Chris. But alas, we went. And damn was I impressed with the filet. It might not be on par with the aforementioned...but the fact that we can get out of there each with a filet and lobster, a drink, and an appetizer for around $100...sold. When we want to eat well but don't want to spend north of $250...Outback is the go-to. Love this place. read more

Oh man, where do i begin. OK, so I've been to this place twice in the 6 yrs that I've lived in GH and both times i have been extremely disappointed. 1st time I had the Norwegian salmon and the taste was very bland and really dry (go to Marie's for a nice and juicy salmon)! the second time i ordered something called a mums something and dear god it was just like a ground beef patty with a gross sauce, some crappy restaurant rice and the only good thing being the mashed potatoes and the onion bloom! My husband ordered some BBQ plate with chicken and ribs and they were both very poorly cooked and I'm guessing they just poured the BBQ sauce on top and called it a day! My friend and his wife ordered a steak plate with a side salad and asked for a well done steak, when they received their plates on the first slice the blood was slipping out UGH! and their salad was given to them as a sliced half of a lettuce head..lol ...i could not contain the laughter at how bad this place was. Unfortunately this restaurant is off the list. Last year had a bad experience with the food being cold in addition to having to track down the waiter for everything. We gave it another chance months later and had a great experience. This week we returned having our mouths watering for a great steak. This time our experience was frustrating. After being seated in an empty restaurant, had to wait fifteen minutes for server. After ordering it took forty five minutes to get our meal. One steak arrived dry and cold and the other was cold and raw, without the lobster which arrived ten minutes later, also cold. Had to track down server to have both steaks heated up in addition to the vegetables being ice cold. Steaks come back and I guess they were replaced although mine was now hot, was bloody raw inside and the other was cooked but still cold. After being at the restaurant for two hours just to eat, noticed two other tables were also sending their food back for one reason or the other. Oh, after my last review, now all of a sudden I notice now the owner(s) have decided to start leaving replies to other customers now posting on this Yelp page. Somehow they decided to ignore my review. Really nice. Tells you a lot about management operations I guess. ? Be nice if I could get a gift certificate from Corporate office to visit another location at least to try and see if another location is any better. Least they can do after what happened upon our last horrid visit at this Northridge location. It would be be nice to try the one in Thousand Oaks. My wife and I use to LOVE Outback. The Northridge location use to be good in the beginning and my wife and I had been going there for years then twice we had bad visits and the last visit totally ruined it for us sadly. I'd give Outback another chance but the owner should have given us the opportunity to visit another location at least with a gift card to at least try and get us back to try Outback again. ? After 45 minutes of waiting the hostess seated us right next to the rest room and she literally ran away so we wont ask to be seated somewhere else. I asked the waitress and she seated us in another boot that just became available. As we did, a short lady approached us and with a horrible manner told us not to sit there and she screamed at another waitress to bring other people to sit there. When I ask who she was she said she was the manager. She practically asked us to get out of the boot without offering to seat us somewhere else. She was rude without any courtesy. As I walking out I found out that the people who took our boot where also seated next to the bathroom and had asked to change. So, the hostess kept on seating people there. So I left. Unbelievably rude manager. She was short and had an accent. I would never set foot there again. I will make sure whoever I know not to either. After that we went to Claim Jumper in Northridge, awesome service, great food. read more

We went to outback with 4 adults and 2 kids. It took over an hour to get our food and when it did come the steaks were not what we ordered. One meal was a steak,fries and Brussels sprouts The sprouts never came but on the plate was a piece of fish skin and a piece of macaroni from their mac and cheese. No one at our table ordered fish or mac n cheese . Another meal ordered was a filet which was not a filet when it came to the table. It took another 45 minutes to get all this corrected. Also one meal was ordered as a butterflied filet which was not butterflied and when it came back it was the same steak only cut in half and returned to the grill. When the manager was questioned about the sanitary aspect of putting an already steak partially eaten and put back on the grill she said that is what they do and that they have a special grill to put returned steak on the grill. We received three different bills all of which were wrong. The entire meal took over two hours and we had small children with us which needed to get home to bed read more

We went out for a nice birthday dinner. Food was delicious and service was quick. The servers were very attentive, there was one in particular who asked various time how we were doing and was kind enough to take our plates even if he wasn't assinged to us. We ran into a small problem at check out and the manager came over and took her time to help us out. She even went the extra mile to resolve the issue. The waitress tried to sit us in front of the bathroom door but we asked for another table so she sat us in a booth for eight, she was not pleasant. We had the 6oz filet and the ribeye with baked potatoes. The food was good but the plating horrible. The filet was served on a very small plate with just it and the potato. Boring and sad looking. The ribeye was on a slightly larger plate but just as boring. Some color; a few vegies maybe,would have made all the difference on the plate. Disappointed each time we go. read more

Let me start by saying I am not one to post negative reviews but I was genuinely dissapointed with the customer service at this outback. I frequent outbacks especially when traveling because I know that they are very consistent from restaurant to restaurant. Normally I am quite satisfied with the service and quality of food. We went for a birthday dinner celebration. We ordered a bloomin onion and was surprised to see that it was without exaggeration half the size as normal. I kinda shrugged it off and moved on. When our food arrived I was shocked to find my firecracker salmon (which I get 90% of the time) was a thin strip of salmon rather than a filet. They can tell me it weighs whatever they want but this fish looked like something you would see on an appetizer menu only it was $18. Our server had the attitude of "what would you like me to do about it?" Rather than "how can I make your situation better for you. We had 4-5 different filets at the table all supposed to be cooked medium that were completely different in preparation. When my aunt requested a new piece because hers was like chewing leather the server basically told her she had ate too much of it. I will admit there was about 25% of it eaten but this was because she was trying not to complain about it. I have never seen such a low level of customer service. If something isn't right, they should make it better. What does it really cost? In the end it costs them more to have an unhappy table of ten then have to cook a new filet or give a free dessert. Food overall is generally good at this location but they sure need to work on their customer service. read more

Outback has a pleasant bustle and a congenital atmosphere. The food's nothing to get excited about:the lobster tail won't be what you imagined, the grilled shrimp isn't very tasty. There's no excitement in the sirloin, and the halibut is so-so. The serving staff works VERY hard to please. The prices aren't great for what you get. read more

I have to say the prejudice behavior is open and clearly ok at this place. I went to have a quick bit before going to the movies and my friend who I was with and I order our food after we were finally seated (4 set of people came after us) were seated and the excuse was they were having a hard time seating 2 people. There was a party going on. Really?? Any way the server came took the order and left but he said someone would bring the order when it was ready. Ok no problem. But would it not occur to a waitress that all of the food should come out together. Not bring me my food which was cold and then her food 5-6 minutes later. I saw the waiter again and to tell him was like speaking to the back of his head. When we paid I explained we were a short on time and had a movie to get to and he was going to be accommodating and getting us our bill to pay...Didn't go down like that at all. I was having dinner with my family. The wait time for a table for us to get seated was about 15 minutes as noted by the Hostess. Once we sat down, it took about 15-20 minutes to have a server come and take our drink and good order. We did ask if we could get an order of bread. It took about 10 minutes after they took our drink and good orders. It took about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The server only stopped by our table ONCE "from the time he took our food and drink order till he arrived with the food" and asked if we needed anything else such as more bread. Once the food arrived, the steaks my wife and I ordered were cold and bland. The only thing close to hot was my daughter's Chicken Fingers. While we were eating the server only stopped by ONCE. Did not ask if we wanted dessert or need any refills. We ended up paying on the Kiosk. We still tipped the server because we both used to work food service and know how it is. We were waiting for our server to return so we could ask him for a couple of to go boxes to take our food home because we didn't finish due to the poor service we received that we kind of lost our appetite. The server never returned to our table to see of we needed anything else. We actually had to interrupt the bartender "which should not be her job" to kindly give us to go boxes. She was awesome and actually made time to give us 2 to go boxes without having to wait 15+ minutes. When we go out to eat, we never ask for crazy requests. It was actually quite depressing. I do not think we will be returning to this location. I actually like Outback but this location kinda ruined it for my family and I. read more

I was there in late February/early March and while Parking is a total nightmare because the lot is shared with other BIG businesses such as L.A. Fitness and other restaurants, the overall dining experience was great. We ordered drinks (not too strong) and the blooming onion as an appetizer. My friend ordered the tilapia filet (why did we go to a steakhouse again???) and I ordered the filet mignon with the lobster/mushroom topping. It was an overall moderate priced but wonderful dining experience. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is for the poor location and the parking problem. read more

The food was FANTASTIC. That's what the one star is for. The service however, was TERRIBLE. Waited on the bench inside for a table for 30 minutes. There was a table right behind the bench that was unoccupied. Guess where they sat us after all that wait? Yep, on that table we were staring at all that time. Then they gave both my toddlers a coloring book, without crayons. Every time I called someone to ask for crayons, they walked passed me pretending they didn't see me. Everyone knows how much us parents depend on those coloring menus to get our kids settled for a peaceful dinner. Secondly, our server was in a bullet rush to take our order. No surprise, he was scheduled to be on break. We changed our mind on one order a split second later, but he couldn't hear us call him back. So we waited another 15 minutes before making a change. He was so frustrated he couldn't hide it in his face. THIRDLY, we got sucked in to the Outback for their special, which we ordered but was served the regular meal instead. The lobster and steak deal looks exactly like the lobster and steak meal. Deal and Meal, they charged us the higher value and blamed it on us. Thank you Outback for making our Saturday afternoon birthday lunch a hit. The hostess had that door open with a smile and a welcome first thing. Immediately noticed how clean the restaurant was . Sat at the table and immediately greeted by Caroline. Does this place know what a gem she is?! Our table wasn't the easiest-that's for sure but she remained pleasant and efficient. I don't remember the last time having such great service. A lot of that comes from the management and when we complimented him we found he was very pleasant. The food was great as always. I came in last night specifically for their tv advertised BBQ mixed grill special (petite cut sirloin, grilled shrimp & scallops for "onleh tweeelve noin-ty noin" lol). While I did find it on the menu, it was priced at 4$ more than what was advertised. I asked the waiter about it, he replied that advertised price was only at participating locations. I guess I had the misfortune of having the nearest outback a NON-participating location. I was disappointed, but that's really what I came for, so I ordered it anyway. It was great! It was cooked perfectly. I love my steak seared on the outside & rare on the inside. I really don't understand all the negative steak reviews about this place, mine was fan-freaking-tastic! Tasty and cut to the perfect size. The chef there really knows what he's doing. Many places I've been to, evidently not many know how to properly cook it rare, it'd either come to me medium or tartare lol. But here! It's the kind of thing where it's so delicious, you almost regret taking a bite because then you're left with one less to enjoy lol. However, the portion of veggies & seafood were a little small for the price. I only got 2 scallops! Would it've really killed them to give me 3? Especially since they were so melt-in-your-mouth yummy! To be honest,, I've never considered myself a fan of Outback restaurant; they base their entire operation on a hollow gimmick: put "aussie" or "australian" in front of everything ("Aussie-tizers"? Really?) and cover the walls in everything Australian. Its so obvious, I can't help but take it as an insult to my intelligence. I don't recall their menu being so small compared to the last time I went years ago. It seems Outback is only an ideal place for groups...as, like, 80% of their appetizers, ooh sorry, Aussie-tizer selections, are meant to be shared by 4 or more people (judging by their size), as are their generic, unimpressive, UNsignature dessert selections...Meaning you're not left with much app/dessert menu choices appropriate for 2, like if you were on a date. IOW: Yes, while I do enjoy a good value and I like fried onion fine as an appetizer, unless I'm at a group or party, neither I nor my date are impressed if it's as big enough to wear as a hat, thanks (so typical of American restaurants lol!). I can't review on how their desserts were because like I said earlier, yawn! But, at this particular location, the steak alone is worth coming back for imo. And their happy hour specials are pretty good too. And an added bonus: the waiter that served me that night was super cute ;.). Perhaps I'll be back, but not as a regular. read more

If I could give it no stars, I would. Bad service, bad food, bad everything. The fettuccini alfredo was full of pepper and chili flakes, and when I ordered the Filet Foccaccia Sandwich, it didn't come with the provolone cheese like it was supposed to. When I mentioned it to the server, he said that it didn't come with cheese on it. I pulled out the menu, and proved that it indeed is supposed to come with cheese. He asked me if I wanted him to bring me a slice of cheese, but what was I supposed to do with it? The sandwich had cooled, and I was half done with it, anyway. It was great when they had the three steak flights last year. Why would you even stop offering them? Portions were perfect, and sauces amazing. We go to this place about once a month. Wait time is usually just a few minutes. Food is a hit and miss, and so are the waiters. We have had everything from perfect and amazing service to horrible and "never again" experiences at this location. Food, as well as services is just very inconsistent here. If they would get this figured out, I would rate it a 4 star experience, but the way it is, it can be anything from a 1-star up to a 4 star "adventure". read more

Look.. It is what it is. When you're walking into an Outback Steakhouse you pretty much know what you're getting.. Average or slightly above average chain steakhouse. Their product is good. So good very good some not so good but it's pretty safe across the board. I usually go with the Outback dinner special comes with a steak and a potato and a salad all pretty reasonably priced. I've had the lobster and the crab and the shrimp. appetizers are good. But they have a seared tuna appetizer that is very good. sometimes it seems to be bordering on more bar than restaurant but service is always pretty good and quick. Parking is bad and the wait can be a little long to get in on Fridays and Saturdays. Best to go early or go late.. This isn't the place to spend your money for filet or hey ribeye.. Go with the sirloin special.. Used the extra money you would have spent on a fillet to order a side of shrimp or nice appetizer or a beer.. read more

Watered down Martinis! Sent it back once and it came back warm. If you want ice, you also have to have water in it! Third try came back cold but with water again. The food is pretty good... that's not my complaint. My complaint involves a roach which was found in my friends salad. We were a party of 10 & were so disgusted & in shock. Most of us were already done with our meal. Once the manager came over & heard about the dead roach...he calmly apologized and explained that this usually happens right after they have a visit from the exterminator. WHAT?!!!!! YUCK!!!!!! GROSS!!!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He continued to explain that once they spray for roaches (as restaurants should) they start crawling away & dying. So it just happens that one got into the salad. I couldn't believe what I was hearing!! I was so grossed out & just wanted to leave. But not only did we not get a 0 balance...I actually had to ask for a bill reduction. The manager decided to only give us 50% off of the bill. I still cant believe we paid for anything! And I still cant believe that this manager told me in detail about the roaches. We were all so disgusted and couldn't wait to get out of there. Why did I wait so long to Yelp!!!
