This is the first time I've been to an Outback that did not meet my expectations. Firstly we stood in front of two Employees at the front desk who managed to do everything but acknowledge us and get us seated - answer phone, rearrange menus, talk to each other. When I ordered my meal with mixed vegetables I was told they were out of vegetables !!! So I close to have my salmon with salad. After we finished our appetizer the salad appeared but not the salmon. Some 20 minutes later all of our party's meals showed up. The Mac and cheese that used to be the best anywhere was dry, tiny portion and was yuk - based on input of my 2 children. The "perfectly grilled salmon" came alone on a plate looking sorry for itself ! It looked over cooked and tasted like it as well - dry and crusty ! After informing out server the manager showed up to offer a new piece of fish - I declined at the thought of another 35 minute wait and the manager said I wouldn't have to pay for it - did he have a choice ??? But still appreciated. Other points to note - there seemed to be more staff than customers but they weren't very good at getting customers seated, and food to the tables. We weren't the only ones complaining about the food. Won't be driving this far down Broad for overpriced poorly cooked food for a long time. My boyfriend and I went here recently and it unfortunately was disappointing. The restaurant was almost empty yet we had to wait 20 minutes before our server even greeted us and got our drink orders. Our server was nice but seemed almost like he was hiding from us and would practically run from us whenever he would come by to check on us so we couldn't ask for anything/mention anything to him. The food took a very long time and when we got it, my order was not correct, missing the one item I was REALLY looking forward to. I was really disappointed, but It took so long to get our food and our server was already practically avoiding us so I just let it go. I was already so exhausted from waiting an hour and a half for our food and having little to no communication from our server that I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I had a bad experience at the Outback in my hometown but liked the food so I was hoping this location would turn my Outback experience around. Unfortunately, it just made me realize that the management at this location needs just as much work, and the food was not good enough for me to put up with this again. I had to convince my boyfriend to give Outback a chance as he was very reluctant to dine here and said that he never had a good experience at Outback and that the food wasn't up to par, and I have to admit that he unfortunately was right on this one. There are only so many chances you can give a business before it's time to stop having hope that they'll get it right. I have eaten at Outback a number of times in the past, and I had not been in several years. This past Friday I was really looking forward to my visit, so I made reservations, knowing I would be able to get in quicker. After sitting, I was looking forward to relaxing by having a drink; appetizer and than my meal... I ordered a Margarita with Top Shelf Tequila. As soon as I put my drink order in, she wanted to know if I had made a decision on my meal. I said not yet... So when the drink came, to my much surprise, the Margarita was served in a Wine Glass. I guess the Bartender does not know what glass to put the Margarita in, so I am just assuming he is putting all wine orders in a Margarita glass. When she sat the drink down, she wanted to know if I was ready to place my order. So, I politically told her, how I have been busy all day and I am here with NO rush on my food or whatever I order and please do not rush me. She backed off... Several minutes later, I flagged her down to place my appetizer order and no sooner when the last words were out of my mouth, she wanted to know if I am ready to place the food order... Annoyed as I was now, I said NOT YET! Please slow down... She of course was not happy with me as I could now tell as she wanted to turn the table over for more tips and I was just not working into her plan. When I finished my appetizer, I put in my food order which was a Prime Rib. In the past, I have always ordered Prime Rib and I was looking forward to what I think is Outback's Signature dish. Upon eating the Prime Rib, I felt like it just did not have the old seasoning on it as to what I was use to in the past.... I finished dinner and upon receiving my check, I asked the waitress, is it normal to serve a Margarita in a Wine Glass. She said she had NO idea.... OK, so much for the Margarita... I am giving it 3 stars for the way the drink was served. I paid $9. for a drink which came in a small wine glass. Very disappointing. Also, I do not like being RUSHED when I sat down to have dinner. If I wanted to go to a Fast Food restuarant, I would have done so down the street. I do not think I will be going back anytime soon. Decided to stop in & I think we had a gift certificate. I'd note that day on CNBC they were offering the Sirloin steak 1 or 2 dollars off as a special. BTW, this has happened twice...one price addr retired that day & $2 more in the store. When I questioned the check it was explained to me not every Outback participated......as a buyer for a major Dept Store for yrs.....Indiana & Kentucky & Ohio had better be the same.....I do understand franchising, which I'll leave it at .......not good business practices. I brought two dear friends for lunch to Outback and we all were yearning fro a good steakburger... instead, we had bland, frozen patty-tasting hamburgers, screwed up orders, and an overall "bleh" experience... Have recently given this location a second chance. Love, love, love. We have been able to order the Medium Rare Prime Rib and it has been cooked to perfection. Again went back tonight, had the best steak EVER here. And our bartender, Michael, is the best. We really enjoy and have been going back now for approximately 6 months. I have to say that we have been to this location multiple times through the years but it appears that there is a major operational and or management problem lately. We went on a Thursday evening and while there were clean empty tables upon arrival, there was a 35 minute wait. I never mind waiting for good food, but we almost left after waiting over 1 hour for our food. Our waitress was friendly but only in the "meets expectations" kind of way. I think she was embarrassed at how many times she had to tell us our food would be right out. In fact the food came just a moment after asking for the check. It wasn't just us though, the whole place was not functional, and the manager was walking around apologizing and offering free desserts, adjustment to checks, and actually comped the meals of the table next to us. The man had ordered his steak medium and it came out burnt. They also had experienced a super long wait. I ordered my steak medium and it was rare. Like really rare. Unfortunately no one asked us how our food was. Our appetizer and drinks were comped but I don't really want something for nothing, I just want what I ordered as I ordered it and to have a dining experience that is "as advertised ". I believe in paying and tipping. I do try to go local whenever possible but sometimes you just want a simple steak and baked potato that won't break the bank. We ate curbside take-away this evening, and were really disappointed. We have usually had good luck at this location. I ordered soup and salad. The salad was good and fresh, but the soup was missing. My wife ordered chicken tacos, and she enjoyed them. The kids ordered kids meals - chicken tenders and the kids burger. The burger was inedible. The bun was incredibly dry and hard and could not be bitten through. I have never seen anything like it. The chicken tenders were pretty good according to my expert daughter, but the fries in both kids meals were cold, greasy, and very limp. Next time I guess we will have to drive through and get fast food for the kids. I also find it odd that there is no way to pay with a credit card or use a coupon when the order is placed online. The receipt on the bag displays a "Payment Code" to be used when paying on the online app, but you don't even get the bag and receipt until AFTER you have paid. This location is a hit or miss. Best day to go seems to be thursday nights so far. I have visted this location 3 times this year. Every time I have had to wait at the table because they forgot to clean the table off before seating us. They seem to now forget to ask what method you want your steak cooked. The third time I went this year was the worst. Not only was the table not clean again, but the steak was not cooked to the requested temp, but instead was Rare and the waiter and manager both tried to say it was correct and would gladly take the steak that I already cut in to and slap it back on the grill. Now seeing the commercials for outback I've always wanted a blooming onion. So we got ordered it and I was not disappointed. It was a perfect blend of greasy oniony friedness. The dipping sauce that comes with it was also tasty. So now what to order for my meal. Well I just had a blooming onion and I want more so I ordered a bloomin burger. My bf got a steak with 2 sides. You can also order a side salad and I did. It was good but I'm not a tomato girl and there was lots of them. So my burger comes out and it looks very tasty. It's got lots of bloomin onions and the dipping sauce. The meat was cooked how I wanted it and the fries looked good too. Now the taste of it was eh, it was way to salty. My bf steak looked really good, to quote him " outbacks steak is so good you don't even need a1 sauce." Overall I would go back. I haven't been to outback in a very long time! I had a wonderful experience coming back here, but I asked for a medium steak & came back medium RARE. No worries for me and it still tasted wonderful! This chain has gone downhill it seems. Definitely not worth the cost. This was the second time I've tried this location (I always try to eat somewhere twice before passing judgement) The bloomin' onion is over seasoned and feels very overpowering. The entrees are either blah, or over seasoned, or over sauced. The garlic Parmesan fries taste exactly like the Aussie fries. Not much flavor. You've gotta have pretty crappy tastebuds to eat here. Wow. What Happened Outback? My wife and I went to our local Outback for some dinner tonight and I couldn't have been more disappointed. We had previously gone to this location and got a mediocre meal toward the end of business on a Saturday, so we figured it could have been a fluke. It wasn't. Our cheese fries were over salted and limp, the coke machine's syrup to water ratio is off so I hope you like tooth shattering sweetness, and my wife's plate was literally a sad little chicken breast with a nasty blob of melted cheese. Her "mix drink" was also not mixed well at all and was already separating when it came to the table. I was at this location today & my experience was mortifying. First of all, the silverware was FILTHY. I ordered a Caesar salad & there was an ALIVE FLY tossed in my salad. My last visit to this Outback was fantastic! Food was perfect! Service was great! The staff made us feel like a VIP for sure. I took my dad and sister to eat here when they were in town visiting because of my dad's love for the coconut shrimp. I must say the spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer was fantastic. We were surprised when we arrived around 5pm to find that the restaurant was packed. It was a Saturday night, but they were already on a 30-45 min wait. We weren't too worried because our plan was to sit at the bar have a drink or two and order some takeout. We quickly found seats at the bar. I asked the bartender if the VCU basketball game was playing. She replied that she had no idea what game was on and walked away. Maybe I touched a nerve and she didn't feel like changing the TV channels (she was very busy). I would've really enjoyed watching the local game instead of Arkansas and another Midwest state in a loser bowl game (both teams had lost as many games as they won). Not only was it on the main TV in the bar, but it was on the 2 surrounding TVs also. I didn't push any further on the game though so maybe if I had directly asked her, she would've changed the channel. We ordered the bloom petals snack and the large ahi tuna (it was a $3 difference between the large and the small version). Both were good. It's hard to go to Outback and not get the bloomin' onion but the snack size is the perfect solution. The bf had a draft beer and I tried the South Wales Sangria, which the bartender said was the least sweet of the 3 sangria options offered. I thought it was still a little sweet, but it had good flavor. I enjoyed it. They got our carryout order correct and everything was still warm when we got home after a 15 min drive. One of the steaks was slightly overcooked, but carryout steak is tricky since the steak will continue to cook after it is boxed. Even as I am writing this review, it's not like I have anything bad to say, but I gave 3 stars because there really wasn't anything particularly memorable about the meal. Had a craving for steak but wanted to stick with the local chains I'm used to for convenience purposes so I tried the closest Outback. I really appreciated the convenience of the take out service which was super because after a long flight, going into a restaurant and waiting at the bar was the last thing I felt like doing. I had the 9 oz sirloin with broccoli and cheese and a wedge salad. It was pleasantly flavorful and filling... I couldn't finish the entire salad and steak but I did try. I almost never get the sirloin but I will again simply because it was delish! The broccoli was also steamed quite well with the melted cheese, however I didn't get the bacon I asked for in the notes section and saw it once I got back to the hotel. Overall, everything was good but I was a little disappointed that my request for loaded broccoli was ignored. Guess I'll write it in all CAPS next time. read more

Today's experience at this Outback was much better than I've had at other locations. The server was very attentive without being around too much. She refilled hubby's soda right on time. Empty plates and glasses were taken away quickly. The chicken & artichoke flatbread appetizer was tasty and at $4.99 a good deal. Hubby's salmon was cooked just how he asked and the broccoli was beautiul. My crab topped tilapia was nice & hot and very tasty. I preferred it over the salmon. The manager came by to see how the food tasted. We could easily say that it was very good. I saw on an earlier review that there are no garnishes or plating extras. Came here for my brother's graduation. We booked a reservation days ahead and we even called in to confirm the morning of the reservation. We came in for our reservation at 7:30 hoping to get seated immediately since we have been out all day for graduation activities. The host told us that we have to wait for another 30 mins to get seated. The two large tables were all taken. One of the tables had just gotten food served while the other table was just getting seated. There was no way that we could have gotten the table in 30 mins as the host said. We were not happy and the host made us even more mad by saying that we should have called in to confirm we were coming when we were on our way to the restaurant. I don't know how Outback works but we also own a small-family restaurant around town and we also make sure to empty out spots for customers who have reservations at least 30 mins before their expected arrival. I haven't been to outback in a long time so I thought I'd give it a try tonight for delivery. I ordered the Ribeye with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The steak was cut lopsided causing half of it to be cooked rare and the other half a medium-well. It would have been edible if not for the massive amount of salt added to the steak. I am not one to write negative reviews, but that was disgusting. There was so much salt on the steak it was gritty to the touch as well. I usually visit Longhorn or Roadhouse. This experience is why. I came in with my family. We were enjoying our meal, after waiting to be sat. The hostess staff was rude. Half the dining room was left empty for the whole time we were eating. At the end of the meal, the manager walked over and said, "not to rush you, but I need to seat your table" basically to leave. I was floored. I called him back, after I had processed what he said. He was cocky. He didn't understand why I found being asked to leave rude. My mother is a 4th stage cancer patient, I wanted to enjoy my time. However, Outback apparently just wants your money, with no concerns about throwing you out the door.
