Ambience- modern, not too busy on a warm Saturday night- and we had the front door opened for us by a smartly dressed young man who greeted us warmly and had us seated in no time. We got water and warm bread almost immediately- hubby placed an order for a nonalcoholic cocktail, while I had the same cocktail with alcohol. The drinks were just fine and more important? The prices were very 2020! Ok - I ordered a 6 ounce filet mignon, well done, with a lobster tail. Hubby ordered Alice's chicken with Outback fries as his side while I got a baked potato for my side. I drank my cocktail pretty quickly and decided to get a tall Outback Blonde beer- perfectly light and cold on this very warm day! The food came out without a fuss - a request for A1 steak sauce arrived quickly- and we dug in! My filet mignon was perfectly cooked and the lobster tail was just nice! Hubby's Alice's Chicken was quite ok for him as well - when offered a 2nd bread? We took it! This place honestly deserves some love - food and service was on par with other restaurants we frequent and the prices - especially for the drinks- were absolutely low! I had the bone in ribeye steak which was over $36. I asked for medium rare and it came well done. They brought me a new one that was raw. I sent it back and it was still raw. I took it home to cook more. The meat was tough and full of grizzle. I chose rib eye because it's fatty which I prefer, but this was not chewable. The manager made a point of saying he wouldn't charge me for the first steak (duh) My husband liked his filet. As for the sides, the sweet potato was the size of a baseball and the broccoli as well as the French onion soup were heavily salted. 5 stars for Outback Steakhouse in Schaumburg! I went here for lunch today and everything was absolutely fantastic. We tried the Platypus Punch which was good (like a lemonade style drink), the bread and butter, house salad, baked potato's, grilled shrimp, grilled salmon and the sirloin. Everything was great but my favorite part of the meal was probably the sirloin - medium rare. Our waitress was excellent as well, super attentive and very friendly service from every employee I encountered. I like this new location. I came here for lunch and it was ok. Our hostess and waitress was super attentive and nice. Ordered a steak and fries and my friend had this loaded bacon cheeseburger burger with fried onion petals. Everything came out delicious. My steak was a little undercooked but I sent back which I hate doing but I couldn't eat it.. it was just wayyyyyy to raw but when it came back it was perfect!!!! Today I saw a commercial on television for a special 3 course meal so I figured we would give it a try. We have never been to this location it's relatively new. We signed up online for the rewards program and you get a free blooming onion but you have to dine here at least once to get it. We added our name to the waitlist and luckily there was no waiting time today. We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and we were seated right away by the friendly hostess. There are lots of different types of tables there's booths, tables, half Booth / half tables, and also tall tables near the bar area and there's two televisions by the bar. My husband and I both ordered the three course meal. My husband picked the soup any upgraded it to French onion and he ordered the 6 oz steak with a side of broccoli it also comes with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. I ordered the chicken on the barbie with broccoli and for my appetizer I ordered the Caesar salad. Before we were even ready to order they had placed some bread with butter on the table which we appreciated. I asked if there's free refills on the bread and she said yes so we ordered a second loaf. The French onion soup was delicious and hot... Almost too temperature hot to eat right away The Caesar salad was very peppery and salty. I think I will ask for the dressing on the side next time. The soup and salad were both a decent portion sizes too. The entrees were both amazing and cooked to perfection. I personally don't like so much salty seasoning on my chicken but it was delicious. It came with a BBQ sauce but I did not use it because I am not sure if there are tomatoes in it (eating tomatoes cause me so much pain) The cheesecake slice for dessert comes topped with either chocolate or raspberry sauce... My husband and I have been coming to this location more often since they remodeled, and since the remodel, their attention to detail and to the customer has greatly improved. Since the remodel, we have come here a few times and have never had bad service or a problem with anything. When walking up to the door, there is usually now a staff member/host who opens the front doors for you as you walk in. Then, when being seated, the host now talks to you and asks how your day is going as you get to your table. It's a nice change and you can tell that they are really trying to make good first impressions from right when the customer walks through their doors. This location also has nice plates now, too, and even steins for beer. Recently, I have ordered the crispy Bloomin' Chicken sandwich ($14.79), which had the perfect crispy crust with a juicy chicken breast inside. I've also ordered the Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie ($20.99). This meal has SO many shrimp on your plate and it was cooked perfectly when I ordered it. The perfect amount of butter to seasoning so they weren't dry, and I also chose rice and a baked potato to be my sides. As for my husband, he normally gets some type of steak or steak/chicken combo meal and he always enjoys it. We tried the Tasmanian chili during our last visit and we also thought that was delicious and it had a good amount of spice. Came in for a quick bite. Sat at the bar and was taken care of by Michelle. Great service and it was quick. The steak was cooked a perfect medium which doesn't always happen. This location used to be a Panera, now it is Outback. I like it a lot. Very cute interior. Music may be too loud for some people but I liked it. Highly recommend coming by and visiting. We did order them medium well without their seasoning blend (we were told it was spicy) & without the char. Service was extremely slow for such a small place. It was good at the start then tapered off. Our server check on us maybe 3 times and we were there for approximately 2 hours. Food was good except one salad came out with no dressing and the waiter that prepared it came out and mumbled I guessing what was an apology. Unfortunately this was not a good visit. First time at their new location. Waiter was very rushed, didn't let you finish your sentence, or listen. My filet was supposed to be medium well and came out a sirloin instead and was medium. They did take that off the bill as I did not eat it and by the time they came for me to tell them, everyone else was done. They also forgot my father in laws dessert. Today my friend and I had lunch in Merrillville, Indiana. I can't say enough positives about the service and quality of food. It was delicious. The service was great. Here are some of my observations: I am NOT a racist person, but I get tired of hearing that white people are racist, please don't stereotype. The waitress and bus lady were both people of color along with the hostess. If there was a table seated with people of color, (2 adults at one table, 2 adults and a small child at another) they received 2 loaves of bread, while my friend and I, and other white guests were served 1 loaf of bread (all 2 white adult guests at each table). I know if we asked for another loaf of bread, we would have gotten one, but it's the point. Everyone should be treated equal no matter what color they are. I asked the hostess about filling out out a survey. She wasn't aware of how to do that so went to talk to the manager. She came back and said I had to create an account. I created an account, but there is not somewhere to fill out information about my visit (at least that I could find). In addition, if you are wanting to complete a survey, wouldn't you think that the manager would want to come to check with us to see what I wanted to say? This is the 2nd time I've dined at Outback and the experience was not good. I dined with a group of about 20 people who received their steak dinners before me and I myself had to wait for 20 plus minutes to get my Steak And Shrimp dinner. I asked the waitress why and she said "Sorry, your order was in another group." That meant nothing to me. In addition the quality of the steak was prepared OK, but heavily seasoned, the vegetable side of brocali was so salty it was not edible. The baked potatoe was edible, but only in certain areas of it. Between the poor service and quality of the good the tip on the check was lower than expected. Do you blame me? Sorry, but seeing as how this is the 2nd time this has happened to me I doubt if I'll be visiting Outback Restaurant, Schaumburg, Ill very soon. read more

Our server was a very cheerful young lady really nice, we ordered the bloomin Onion, and their chicken parmesan bites which were tasty but I found a black hair long black hair, then the bloomin Onion was just barely warm which I don't understand because it was not very busy and she was very quick she was not a slow person she was right on, the manage was very nice and comp'd it and they brought out new ones, my son's both ordered filet and lobster tail one had a nice sear the other did not have any , also filet mignon is a very lean tender cut , these were fatty so I know from experience the difference We but a half cow every year , and I cook the filet mignon at home, what they provided was sirloin , the lobster was dry and tough. Whoever the cooks are they don't have the passion to cook steak I had the blooming chicken that was good, my husband ordered a sirloin and enjoyed it. They did take my son's off the bill and gave some cheesecake as an apology which was nice but for a steakhouse so near better steak houses they should care more about quality to compete, servers are good and manger again really nice I hope they take more time to pay attention to quality so they succeed read more

The worst restaurant experience of my life. We ordered to go. And they got almost everything in our order wrong. Not only did we spend $130 on the food but when we called to ask them to make it right, they argued with us. They also told me that they get everything right in their restaurant. Yet I'm the one who just spent $130 on food to have it be almost all the way wrong. Even the stickers on the containers were wrong. We ordered fruit (and it said fruit on the sticker) and they put french fries in the container. Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else but this place. We've loved Outback and been going since the mid 1990s to the one in Schaumburg (Golf and Basswood). We were regulars and always enjoyed the food and entire experience. Our favorite restaurant! We've been to the new location on Plaza a few times, and have to say that each time there seems to be an issue. Today was the worst. Around noon, I used the app to put our party of three on the waitlist for an early dinner at 4:45. When we got there they said it was about a 10 min wait. At that point we were the only ones waiting. But 10 minutes later, the entryway was packed with people, and the new location doesn't have any waiting area (a small bench that seats three and two chairs). A few minutes later we were seated. The waitress took our drink orders and we asked for our favorite cheese fries appetizer. We didn't place our entrees order right away on purpose as we've had issues in the past with the appetizer arriving and the salads coming moments later. We waited for a bit and the drinks were delivered by someone else. Our waitress came by and said the cheese fries would be out soon. But they didn't come. The waitress stopped by and said they were on their way, and did we want to order the rest of our meals. Since we assumed the cheese fries were almost done, we decided to go ahead and order our entrees. Big mistake. Still no cheese fries. Then our salads arrived. Actually 4 salads arrived even though we were a party of three. We said that our appetizer had not arrived, but went ahead and ate our salads. They said the kitchen was backed up but the cheese fries should arrive soon. So we waited. All of a sudden our meals arrived -- followed immediately by our cheese fries! We ended up with a table full of food all at once!! They told us the appetizer was going to be free, but how can you enjoy the food when it all arrives at once??? In the meantime we could see at least 20-25 people now waiting to be seated by the entryway, and up the aisle by some of the booths. I'm just glad we weren't sitting over there. I do have to say that the food tasted great (with the exception of the baked potatoes which seemed slightly undercooked and a little drab). But the ambiance, the staff and the service at the old Schaumburg location were so much better than the new one! If I could rate this separately I'd give the food 4.5 stars, the service 1 star, and the ambiance 2 stars. Extremely disappointing for a $125 meal!! read more

Wow Outback. What a BIG disappointment from past experiences here. Why even offer a Valentine's Day Special for 2, when you can't even deliver on it? I feel for the staff working hard to try and salvage what they could of this failed offer but we are now trying to decide what to order, or cook, for our dinner in, when Outback Schaumburg let us down. We went to pick-up our order at the time specified and were told it would be at least another hour. So we said forget it and canceled the entire order. I'll be checking back to make sure the charge comes off my card. What a shame. But I hope they figure this out in the future before offering another special.
