One of my go to steak places. I love their ribeye but always medium rare. I also love their roasted mushrooms i can eat those all day. I had a very disappointing experience at LongHorn Steakhouse in Schaumburg (1901 E Golf Rd). seating a party of 7 (3 adults and 4 children) The service was poor from the start. The hostess took an unusually long time to seat us and seemed to procrastinate even though there were clearly tables that had already been "cleaned." Once seated, our server was switched out without explanation. Our waiter then took a long time to bring our appetizers, which arrived very salty and soggy, and our drinks tasted watered down. Throughout the visit, our table was never cleared, which was frustrating considering the delay we experienced being seated due to tables supposedly needing to be cleaned. The only highlight of the experience was the professionalism of the manager, who handled the situation respectfully and canceled our order for us. Having recently visited the Longhorn Steakhouse in Des Plaines, this one was also large and also as nicely theme decorated as the DP location. The restaurant was pretty busy on a weekday lunch time. I went to Longhorn a few days ago with a group of women friends. None of us had been to a Longhorn in quite sometime but this was a great location for all of us to meet. We had a wonderful meal. The old fashioned I ordered was great, The best part of our time there was our waitress, Kim. She did an amazing job with special requests, being attentive to our food and being so friendly and personable. I ordered the strip steak with the sweet potato on the side. I had an excellent experience at LongHorn Steakhouse in Schaumburg - definitely 5 stars. It was my first time back in years, the first experience wasn't that great, but things have certainly improved since then! They had a salmon and shrimp combo which was great, the salmon was so soft and tasted very fresh. We also tried the sirloin and shrimp combo which was very good too. The sirloin was cooked exactly as requested (medium rare - the only way to eat a steak!). These combos are excellent they give you so much food - the 2 proteins, rice, another side, a salad and of course a good size piece of bread with butter. Our server was very friendly and attentive, ambiance was very nice with the Texas decor and I love the dim lighting. I'd go back again, but if you go after 5 PM - you're going to wait a while for a table FYI. read more

Typical lettuce entertain you style restaurant. The portions are huge and really filling. Each dish can easily be shared between 2 people. Even the kids menu entrees could be split between 2 kids. Our server was top notch--super attentive and got us extra plates and forks and crayons for the kids plus extra napkins. What we got: Rack of lamb - They recommend cooked medium and it's really good, tender and juicy--not gamey at all. Whatever the sauce is is delicious and pairs really nicely with it. There's a definite grill flavor to it, which made the flavors even better. The mashed potatoes are super creamy. Something about lamb over a little bed of mashed potatoes just looks right presentation-wise, so I didn't sub the side but you can. The other side was the strawberry salad and it was nice, light and fresh! Outlaw Ribeye - It's seasoned heavily and a touch salty, but it tastes great. You can ask for it to be seasoned lightly if you prefer. Solid steak, the grilled flavor is what can't really be achieved at home on the stove. Side was a caesar salad and our kids ended up eating a lot of it. Kids mac and cheese - Our kid has a little bit bougie tastebuds, so she said this was watery and flavorless. She likes real cheese and a thick, creamy ooey-gooey sauce. Other kids might like this just fine! I'm curious if the side mac and cheese is the same as the kids or if it's more aimed for adult palates because the side mac and cheese might be a better option. All the kids meals include a milk and a side. Kids chicken tenders - Our kid wanted fried, but there's a grilled option as well. My wife and I tried Longhorns new 10 dollar value lunch menu . My wife had the 7 pepper steak salad and French onion soup , both she very much enjoyed . I order the 1/2 lb cheeseburger with fries. Both the burger and fries were just okay, too much seasoning salt on the burger for my taste . For 5 bucks more I would recommend the small sirloin steak instead . For Mother's day, we took my Mom to Longhorn in Schaumburg. My Mom could not eat her steak for it was way over seasoned. My Renegade steak was also way over seasoned. I've been here a number of times since then and the food is good and reasonably priced. I won't claim to be a steak afficionado but it's definitely better than something like outback. My one complaint is that their online reservation system just straight up lies. There were many big parties for birthday celebration. When we arrived 15 mins before the intended time, we were told that we had to wait for another 30mins. But, the staff was efficient in clearing tables. We were seated within. 15 mins. We were too busy to catch up so I didn't take any pictures of our foods, but take my words, we were (good) surprised by the quality of foods. We were seated at a table/booth that was not properly cleaned. I sat in the booth and it was slimy. That god it was not puke. It was salad dressing. I went to the restroom to clean off my jeans and wash my hands. I brought out a soapy towel to wipe up the mess. My husband asked the staff to wipe the booth seat. They came with a cloth and wiped up - no apologies. The waitress was very unengaging and not very friendly. Our meals were good. My burger was ordered with bacon but didn't come with it. She did come by to see if we wanted ketchup or steak sauce and dropped it off on the go. If the waitress Misheel had returned after we started eating I would have told her about the bacon. The beer selection wasn't imaginative, but a Bud Light always works - while I ordered the suds, hubby ordered a water (designated driver that he is). The beer came, the order was taken, and - well- so did a very warm loaf of whole-wheat bread (!). Always loved me a bread load in a restaurant - and it was really yummy. Gotta say it was nice. We ordered stuffed mushrooms (coated with cheese) for an app, and that was at the perfect temp. The flavor was fine- but wow- it was not a tender piece of meat. I suppose I'll have to order Flo's Filet to get the tenderness I so dearly crave moving forward? Or have I just been spoiled by Seasons 52's steaks? Or that of Morton's (both different price points, but tenderness should know no boundaries). The sides- my sweet potato was nice for sure- hubby enjoyed his fries but by the time we made it thru the dinner? We were FULL. Ok- the taste/temp issues resulted in the demerit of a point. A plus point was the ability to pay via QR code at the table (a nice touch, as most restaurants make you wait forever for the bill). But a programming note on their invoicing software- and I'll keep repeating it - restaurant owners - if you're listening- I will gladly pay a 20% tip ON THE PRE-TAX AMT ONLY. Luckily, there was no line and no wait and there was actually parking in the parking lot. The place was very full, and people continue to come in for dinner throughout the entire time we were there. Fortunately, the food came out very quickly was cooked exactly as requested for the steaks. The portions are very fair, considering the pricing for choice steaks and Angus steaks. The only unfortunate part about the evening was our waiter, who never asked us for refills immediately gave us our check without asking us if we wanted any dessert, and really did away with a lot of niceties and introductions, even when he first came to the table. And finally, I opted for the lunch Strawberry Chicken salad. At the first bite I was already raving about how good it was. At lunch, everything comes with one side and of course bread for the table. We ordered our employee's Thanksgiving lunch from here. Given the consistent quality we've come to expect, we were disappointed with today's order of 10 meals, most of which were steak dishes. We specifically requested medium and medium-rare preparations, but the steaks arrived overcooked and burnt, tasting heavily of charred smoke. Unfortunately, the overwhelming burnt flavor made them inedible for many of us. At over $30 per meal, we anticipated a much higher standard, especially as this was meant to be our holiday lunch - a special occasion for our team. A solid choice if you're looking for large entrees at a very reasonable price. LongHorn is priced very well for a restaurant with a full selection of grilled meat options from chicken to steak to pork to fish, with a lot less sauces and seasonings than you'd expect from somewhere like Texas Roadhouse. While portion sizes skew on the large side, the textures and flavors are a bit lackluster for me - particularly on key items like the steaks, salmon, and pork chops. Items that are seasoned or sauced a bit more like the lamb chops or ribs came out a little better, though it wasn't super memorable either. The two appetizers I tried, the Tonion and Wild West Shrimp similarly came out with a very generous portion size, but the crispiness was a little lacking and the flavor of the food with and without sauce was just alright. With that said, the restaurant is nice and large with the ability to accommodate quite a bit of people, the service is quick and friendly, the menu is quite complete, and prices are competitive. While it took some time to get our order ready for pick up, everything was cooked perfectly and surprisingly still pretty hot when we got our food home. Our only disappointment was the donut bites.
